Kaffee Frech in Zug

Unfortunately I wouldn't eat there again. The quality of the food was impeccable, but for the prices you can expect larger portions and at least some seasoned avocado. Unfortunately it was very basic and the prices on the website didn't match the prices in the cafe. I can get bigger and better avocado toast cheaper in Zurich.

Very cozy place to linger, great ambience and absolutely recommended espresso!

Great Coffee! Food selection isn't too big but it's a coffeehouse, not a restaurant, so that's more than fine. Especially since the food is very good and freshly made. (some reviews criticize cold avocado toast - funny because I don't want my avocado to be warm anyways xD) Service is friendly and quick, all servers speak English, which is great for all the international guests - not a given thing in a not English speaking country! On the other hand, not all servers speak German - therefor only 4/5 Stars The atmosphere does suffer from the busyness of the place. It does get quiet crowded - One table fewer would benifit the coziness (and I do not like the music but that's a question of taste) One of the few Dog-friendly places in Zug, which is great!

Friendly staff, nice music and atmosphere.

We discovered the coffee by chance and it immediately appealed to us from the outside. When we were there it was quite crowded. Nevertheless we got a place. Our order was prepared and brought to the table very quickly. It was delicious ! We will be back. 🫶🏽

The only decent coffee in Zug. Still a lot to improve to be on the same level as the great coffee places in Zurich. For example: why do you need an app to order and pay for in such a small space? 6 swiss francs for a coffee but you can’t afford spotify premium? Small details to improve to go from okish to great :)

Nice place and coffee, but it can get a bit chaotic when full. There's a small cashier in the end if you don't want to register your card online.

Such a lovely place! The atmosphere is wonderful in the cafe and the employers are lovely and really friendly! and the food is also really delicious! It's my go to cafee in zug :)

The cafe is very stylish and modern. You can only order and pay digitally. I personally find that rather weak. My main criticism, however, is the prices. It's absolutely okay for me to pay something for a good coffee. But the coffee was really small and the dessert (brownies) even smaller. The prices were really too high for that.

As an artist and coffee lover, my visit to this cafe was a real delight! Latte art here is celebrated in a very special way - a real treat for the senses. The barista really perfected his craft and the coffee was simply outstanding. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. But the highlight was definitely the Belgian waffles - an absolute must! Fresh, crispy and with a selection of delicious toppings. The Kaffe Frech concept definitely tickled my taste buds and I will definitely be back. Thanks to the entire service team

I have been a frequent guest at Kaffee Frech, be it for coffee, for lunch to go or on site. I was happy to recommend the place to others until yesterday, when I went there for coffee with a friend. We ordered a few things (coffee, food, aperitif). We had to defend ourselves because the drinks, some of which were half empty, were not cleared away straight away. When we had nothing left on the table, we were asked if we wanted to order anything else. We have denied this for the moment. We were then asked to vacate the table. It's understandable that you can't sip a coffee for two hours to get a free job, but our behavior was far from that. There were also other free seats in the restaurant that could have been offered to customers. We expressed our displeasure personally in the restaurant and in writing to the team. The reaction was very poor - it wasn't even enough for an apology. It's a shame that one of the few "cool" coffees in Zug has changed so negatively.

A wonderful place to stay, good service but unfortunately I can't recommend it. Café was not “hot and strong” but lukewarm and quite milky. I returned the Capucchino, but unfortunately I didn't get “hot and strong” again. What a shame! The waffle was good but the avocado toast with egg came to the table cold.

Unfortunately, our visit to Kaffee Frech didn't convince us. We really liked the furnishing style, and the coffee and toast were also delicious. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right. Ordering with a QR code is quick, but the service still seems very impersonal. You were neither asked whether it was tasty nor were you noticed in any other way. What bothered us the most was the broken dishes. All the plates served had several corners off. Also those of the other guests in the coffee shop. I think it's a no-go. It's a shame because the coffee is the best in town. Unfortunately we won't be coming over anymore.

Always great to visit Kaffe Frech. Best place in town. I love the avocado toast with egg and I normally add feta. The bubble is as well fantastic. The possibility to order and pay online it’s awesome, this should be the case in so many places in Switzerland. Thanks all for a super experience

whenever i want a cozier place in Zug for coffee or brunch i always come back here! the coffee is delicious and u have nearly endless customization possibilities in the app and the same goes for their toasts! the only downside i would say is that u get relatively little interaction with the staff as ordering and paying happens through a qr-code and a website!

Great place to relax, work or simply chat with friends. Ordering system is online and very efficient, food was delicous and staff friendly!

Top service, great location and a lovely owner!

I've known Kaffee Frech for four years and was very happy to come because of the vegan offerings, but found that it had diminished on all levels. The outside area is very unkempt (obviously no broom is ever swung there). The tables are sticky and are only wiped down upon request. The employees' aprons reinforce the unkempt impression. There is a very unpleasant smell coming from the underground container around the corner. Salt and pepper are offered with the toast, but then two salt mills arrive and one of them is empty. Unfortunately, it makes a careless and unprofessional impression.

Great place with a nice atmosphere and a delicious wafels and avocado toast as well as great coffee. The only drawback is ordering via phone.

My wife and I go here at least once or twice a week. The coffee is always amazing, the best gipfeli ever, and the service is simply great.

We come often, but unfortunately we often have to wait longer... since the QR orders, unfortunately we are no longer greeted so friendly... cheeky? 😅 probably fits the concept, maybe I'm just too old school...

Coffee was good, croissants too however for this price they are offering the staff is very slow and disorganized. The restaurant has 7 tables and 5 staff, but you still have to wait up to 10 minutes for coffee and you don't get what you order. Thanks, but I'm not coming anymore.

Super cool location, very nice staff, delicious coffee, delicious breakfast. A small criticism is permitted: please do not take the avocado/guacamole for the roll straight from the fridge. It tastes like nothing ice cold.

Nice and cozy place in Zug. I like the avocado toast, which is practically a non-existent option for a Swiss breakfast. The only complaint I have as a lactose intolerant person is that they don’t have a lactose free milk. I don’t like the oat alternative. Just a simple Emmi’s lactose free (free from) would make me a regular customer there. I like the coffee otherwise. The food is nice in general. Please add a lactose free milk to your alternative options!

6.- for a cappuccino in a unfulfilled cup, with burnt mill and without latte art! Sad and not what I am used to from this place!

The Flat White is strong and therefore great. Orders can only be placed via QR code and card payment. Sometimes that doesn't work and you can order and pay directly at the bar. Sometimes you have to wait more than 20 minutes until the order is processed. It's usually pretty busy and therefore loud.

Great coffee and great Gipfeli. We really like the place.

Cozy place with a friendly service. Overrated prices but this is Switzerland. One of (if not the only one) in Zug for a nice coffee with friends on weekends. You and can order and pay by phone and this is great.

Impersonal cafe, service is only available for the delivery of the order, which is previously placed and paid digitally including a suggested tip. It's just a shame that the atmosphere in the restaurant falls by the wayside.

Cold toast, drinks arrive 15 minutes after the meal, no one clears the previous people's plates from the table - absolutely not recommended.

The place is nice but not recommended for food. They have only the crostini plate which is good in quality of ingredients but they manage not to toast or to toast too much the bread and nothing definitely you cannot do at home in 5 min. for way less money. Service also poor.

My husband and I lived above Kaffee Frech for nearly a year and loved it! A few of our favorites: Avocado toast with perfectly poached eggs: truly some of the most delicious I've ever had. Poke bowls with cauliflower rice/black rice and loads of fresh/healthy ingredients. Ginger tea Also, the people who work here are so, so lovely and take great care in serving their customers. Three cheers for Kaffee Frech!

Stylish place. Friendly staff. You can order food online at the table using the QR code and pay online as well - so if you want you may not speak at all😆 For those with small children, the changing table is one floor up.

With the cappuccino, the milk was foamed very well, the milk-espresso ratio was well balanced, the latte art was nice too 🤩 With the Flat White, except for the double shot, everything was the same as with the cappuccino and then also in the cup, which surprised me after the almost perfect cappuccino...

Great local spot for coffee and croissant…. Highly recommended. I will be back next time I’m in town.

The coffe and the avocado toast were good. In my personal opinion I didn't like to see my food being prepared in the middle of so many things and dishes in the bar/kitchen. Does not look very hygienic. ( I would have this area a bit more organized, as we custumers can see everything ) ;)

Went to this coffee shop because of Instagram. However, after a short time we were very disappointed. We waited a good 1 hour for our order, but after 60 minutes only half of our order arrived (2 of 4 avocado toast). A good 10 minutes later the rest came... When we asked the staff about it, there was no courtesy or understanding whatsoever. It felt like the staff didn't care. A pity! Food was ok.

Very good selection of vegan desserts and coffee. The price is a bit over the top, but it's in a good location in Zug. Also open on Sunday afternoons

Unfortunately they do not accept reservations so we had to wait approx 20 Minutes and got only a small narrow space at the window. The coffee was delicious. Would definitely come back for a coffee! The bread of the avocado toast could be wayy thinner. Wouldn’t order the toast again. Next time I will try the waffles :)

The avocado toast was very poorly done: the toast was not really toasted, the egg was hard boiled (should be poached, or at least not hard boiled and have a running yolk). Overall presentation was poor, I ate the egg seperately, and the toast seperately. I'd say the egg was good and fresh, but yeah, it's just strange to me to stick a hard boiled egg on top of a toast. The coffee was great, the staff was friendly and professional. Couldn't stay longer than 40min inside, as the AC was cranked up pretty high, I was afraid of catching a cold. Would come again for a coffee, but perhaps no meal next time.

Good drink and food options. Such a cozy, aesthetic atmosphere. Don’t love how they switched to ordering and paying online, as it ends up being inconvenient for those without Swiss credit cards attached to their phones (Apple Pay).

Self-scan order....ok! Not that problematic for me, but for you, the 60-year-old sitting next to me, it's almost an impossible task. In the app then, auto tip function. I have to actively turn tipping off. No go, because why tip when I do half of it myself. Coffee is good. In my opinion, be less hip, but serve again.

Nice, “hip” café in downtown Zug with a great selection. However, indoors the sound system is much too loud (at least during the day). That would be ok in the evening as a bar, but not during the day when it's supposed to be cozy. It's nice and cozy outside for shade, but unfortunately the chairs are quite uncomfortable and you can't stay on them for very long.

Good choice of coffee and food for avocado toast lovers. We had fresh ginger tea and avocado toast with figue, protein plate. You order and pay via app which makes it fast and easy. They offer nice cakes as well.

I really like this cafe it has a very nice atmosphere. I was able to study for hours and the coffee tasted really good. The ordering system is a bit confusing at first but the staff are very friendly and have no problem helping you out. It can be a bit noisy when it’s crowded but it’s still a good place to get coffee and a light meal.

Although I have traveled a lot around the world, Kaffee Frech is and remains my favorite coffee. Food, coffee and friendliness from the staff are always at a high level.

The best coffee place in the canton by far :)

I ordered 2x cappuccino to take away. Quality okay, a little too cold. The team was a bit disorganized and, despite being overstaffed, it took too long before I could order. Then Café Twint didn't work - that can happen. BUT: They charge 6 CHF for a mediocre cappuccino... Is it still possible? The name Frech says it all and is a reason for me not to come anymore.

First I'll explain my star deduction: on my FIRST visit there were 6 (!!) people working behind the bar. After paying, I first had to clarify who I could get my money from and who had taken my order. Unfortunately, no hello when you arrive... no goodbye when you leave. Unfortunately it seemed super impersonal. A pity. The coffee and pineapple juice (highly recommended) were very tasty and came to the table quickly.
