This restaurant is amazing! I m not vegan and I took it as a challenge. Every dish is amazingly tasty and the whole menu si wow. I couldn't pick my favourite from it, all of them are unique and very very well balanced. The hard work besides it receives full appreciation! Definitely recommend and definitely I will be back. Congratulations to the Chef and the team!

I give a 4/5 simply because the quality/price ratio is not really deserving of a 5. The food is great and all vegan, but I think there are other restaurants offering a similar offering and keeping the price lower. The service is great but maybe a bit too much of "have fun, enjoy and we will make your day better". I personally prefer a more discrete and just good service rather than this pampering attitude. Overall great but I doubt I'd come back to be honest.

Good concept with the 4, 5 or 6 course surprise menus. Seasonal and regional, simply whatever the fresh market has to offer that day comes to the table in creative, deliciously tasty bites. Attentive, friendly and expert service staff buzz around the restaurant like bees and ensure the well-being of the numerous guests. The kitchen-woman team calmly performs excellent, top-class cooking! Due to the high demand and popularity of the “KLE”, you absolutely have to make a reservation. To do justice to this, dinner is served in two shifts from 6 p.m. The only small disadvantage: a lot of people in a limited space, talk a lot and it's hard to understand each other.

Mixed experience at KLE. Dishes were interesting and flavorful. Service was attentive. However, didn’t feel like it was worth the price and was specially disappointed with the wine pairing : 60.- just for the wine pairing when I only got 2 glasses of wine, the smallest beer we had to share for 3 people (!) and a small sip of schnapps. Felt like a rip off and for this reason I would not recommend.

Outstanding food and service at this elegant little restaurant. The food is so utterly excellent, that it is irrelevant if you are *not* vegan/vegetarian... go here anyway... you will not be disappointed. The service was fabulous. Knowledgeable, friendly and multi-lingual staff were polite, discreet and helpful. The decor is simple, but up-market enough for a 'date' and the acoustics are excellent even when the place is full. I can't wait to go back there. On a private note, I had captivating company, but that probably isn't going to help anybody reading this review.

Mega delicious and super imaginative fine dining, completely vegan. At the beginning the service was a bit very quick, we had hardly finished before the next dish was in front of us. However, we had a little longer to choose all the drinks. So after the 2nd/3rd The pace at which things were cleared away and new food arrived was good. The staff was very friendly and the food was just a dream 😍 Totally recommended! We had water à discretion and a bottle of wine for 2 people, plus the 6-course menu (+ amuse bouche) and we were both well full, but were not "stuffed", which we found to be very pleasant. It's worth booking early as places are in demand and limited!

Everything amazing. Service food, I Just loved it. The only thing I had a issue with was I called before hand to ask about a cake because it was for a birthday they explained to me that I need to call with 3 days notice to have a cake made but that a note would be left on my reservation to put a candle with my dessert. I was very disappointed to see that there was no candle once my dessert arrived :(

The prices, on the other hand, are very borderline - even for Zurich. Tip: Order supplement. We reordered a total of 3 times from two different courses. Without the supplements it would have been a bit too little for us.

The waitress who seated us wasn't very friendly and looked very critical, even though we had a reservation. The food was mostly very good. 2/6 courses were moderate. One had so much horseradish that the remaining ingredients were undetectable. The rest of the service was very friendly. Unfortunately there was a very strong and cold draft through the restaurant.

We began with the Amuse-Bouche, a visually appealing and delectable appetizer served in bite-sized portions. We shared the Lentil Bolognese, the Truffled Mushroom Risotto, and the Seared Cauliflower Steak for our entrees. Each dish was perfectly prepared and extraordinarily flavorful. Serving with a delectable and creamy sauce, the seared cauliflower steak was cooked to perfection. Consisting of hearty and gratifying lentil bolognese and opulent truffle mushroom risotto, respectively. In addition, we savored a side dish consisting of roast Brussels sprouts that were served with a delectable vinaigrette dressing and were perfectly cooked. We finished the meal with the Chocolate Lava Cake, an indulgent and delectable dessert. A+ service was provided at KLE. Friendliness and attentiveness characterized our waiter, who ensured that we had all the necessities. Additionally, he assisted us in selecting the ideal wines to complement our meals. I went to the KLE restaurant in Zurich for dinner, to try this vegan experience with my girlfriend. I would like to point out that neither you nor I are vegan or vegetarian and I hope that this further emphasizes this review as well as the beauty and quality perceived and experienced. I'll start by describing the location, one of the many aspects that pleasantly struck me. Despite the Michelin star (well, to be honest), the place is trendy but informal, not at all "plastered". Another positive mention is for the exclusively female dining room staff. Kind girls and women, available and above all extremely passionate and professional. Continuous description of the dishes and preparation methods, as well as the non-alcoholic cocktails that we have chosen as a pairing for the menu. Different languages ​​spoken: English, German and Spanish for sure, but perhaps others too. I conclude with what initially justified the choice and the trip: the cuisine. The amazement effect was there, indeed. A tasty, tasty cuisine, "omnivorous" in tastes and textures. A surprise tasting menu that is synonymous with seasonality and a tribute to nature and its products. In short, my experience at KLE went even beyond expectations, deserving in all respects the trip made specifically from Italy. Congratulations to the chef, the sous chef and the whole team. I absolutely feel like recommending it, not only to those who are experts in this type of cuisine but above all to those who are not and want to make a wonderful discovery. I'll be back.

The Kle seems very inviting and the friendly service makes you feel welcome. Unfortunately, we experienced the biggest letdown of our days in Zurich. For four menus and a glass of wine we received a bill of €500. Given that the creations were delicious and artistically valuable, but unfortunately the portions were puny and there was no visible main course, this really shocked us. Finally had the chance to visit Kle. The staff is very engaged and knowledgeable. You can see the passion behind the service execution We got the 3 course surprise. The first course with the turnip and spicy chili was mind blowing. The second course with the potato using seitan using this texture of fat created a bacon flavor that made it difficult to believe it was vegan and very rich. For dessert they brought my partner and I two different ones which was lovely to taste between the two of us.

You will go home hungry, unsatisfied and poor. So after reading all the glorious reviews I had great expectations and hopes. However I left sorely disappointed and feeling cheated. Not only do the tiny portions of food not live up to the hype, they are also way, way overpriced for the quality and quantity of food you are getting. For us it wasn't a particularly positive restaurant experience. Unfortunately, the Kle is far too expensive for what you get. 78 francs for a purely vegan 3-course meal (excluding drinks) is simply too expensive. The flavors were not coordinated and sometimes too dominant. The portions are also small. Price-performance ratio not justified. My tip to Kle: coordinate tastes better and either have larger portions or lower the prices.

Really tasty food. Many vegan restaurants I have visited try to follow a raw-food concept and feels therefore boring. Kle was the opposite. “Normal” good food, but cruelty free. The surprise courses were good, specially the tortellini. The only thing that we didn’t like was the chocolate ice cream with olive oil. Fortunately, they gave us another dessert to try, which was delicious . I wish it was just easier to book without much time in advance

What a great experience! We had the 5-course surprise menu with 1x wine accompaniment and 1x non-alcoholic. And it blew us away! I claim that KLE is probably the very best of all vegan restaurants in Zurich (or even in the whole of Switzerland?). It's really unbelievable what you can conjure up plant-based. I went out of my way to visit KLE on a day trip where we visited Zurich just for this and it was a mistake. I am vegan myself and I go out of my way to support vegan establishments, but KLE did not meet my expectations whatsoever. I cannot fathom how they have 1 Michelin star. I have travelled all over the world and have been to many Michelin restaurants and vegan restaurants without stars as well globally. There are many places that surpass KLE with flying colors, yet they don’t have a star. I’ll start off by saying that their food is extremely acidic, sweet, and salty. The flavors are way too strong and clash with each other. The amouse of pillow bread, dips, and pickled veggies were way too salty. Even the bread was heavily salted. The tostada broke as soon as I took my first bite and flopped on the table. The only good dish, in my opinion, was the pasta, but even then they added a sweet balsamic sauce on it which I disliked as every “savory” dish was sweet already. The apple and horseradish plate was lovely, but way too acidic and again, sweet. I craved more carbs, less salt, more savory flavors, and less sweetness overall. Out of all the scrumptious desserts you can make, why make one with tofu, orange, and flowers that are too fragrant? It was so acidic that my mouth and my partners were stinging afterwards for an hour. The service is not good. We waited quite a while to have any menu or water brought over. That’s another thing. They charge for tap water and while they say it’s for donation, they should inform you beforehand which they did not. On top of this, choose a side. You’re deliberately serving beautifully plated dishes that are quite tiny which is more high end, but then they are served in a casual environment on wooden tables with no table linen. It doesn’t click. At the end when we paid, we mentioned that we didn’t feel it was right to pay for the tap water as we weren’t advised of it beforehand which I guess they didn’t really like because we said thank you and goodnight upon exiting and we were met with an annoying stare and no response back. The food is SEVERELY overpriced. 105 CHF for 5 courses per person for dishes that are the size of your palm is absolutely absurd. I left hungry and dissatisfied. If they want to donate, decrease the profit margin and donate what you make people pay for tap water. While I understand the space has to be paid for and local and seasonal ingredients have to be sourced, you should make killer food that makes the cost worth and actually representative of what is served. All the food that was supposed to be warm was lukewarm/cold, and with snow pouring down outside, this was not ideal. I believe that Michelin inspectors know what they’re doing for the most part, but they must think that vegan food can never be exceptional hence the rating for KLE, but I can assure you, I’ve been to many vegan restaurants that surpass this restaurant in every aspect and don’t have a star. I don’t recommend this place. Come to Amsterdam and London for a foodie trip and indulge in epic vegan food that doesn’t require steep pockets. I will be contacting Michelin as well as this does not make sense.

Terrible! Very ordinary food for the price. Tea is water passed through a few leaves. They also charge you for normal water. Too expensive for the quality. The bathrooms are very uncomfortable, it looks like a neighborhood cafe. It doesn't deserve to be on Michelin. The horrible entries.

All in all a good experience. The service was good. But I would have found it more personal if only one person had served us and not four different people. Some employees explained the menus with more passion than others. For example, the French/English speaking gentleman presented it with palpable enthusiasm. But everyone was friendly. Unfortunately, I also felt stressed. Of course we only had 2 hours. But I don't like it when people constantly try to take my plate away from me when I'm not finished yet. Especially when you spend so much money to go out for a nice meal. It seemed like you had to order either a wine or non-alcoholic accompaniment, which is what we did. In other fine dining restaurants I've been to, a drink accompaniment was only an option, which I find better. We enjoyed almost all of the courses. The highlight for us was the amuse bouche roll with dips and the tortellini with a wonderful vegan cheese sauce. The dessert was too sweet for me (quince jelly) and the orange blossom aroma was much too intense. Regarding the BBQ mushrooms: here I found the orange sauce too sweet and unnecessary. The other components were interesting enough in themselves. The non-alcoholic drinks were all very special. The deep red drink with the beetroot tasted too earthy and the fermented apricot drink tasted too sour. We both had a bit of acid reflux afterwards. The smoked black tea was also new to me, but we liked it. The drink with the vegan egg foam was very balanced and fine and the plum-cucumber-dill drink was also very well combined. The atmosphere could be nicer. What I found very good is that they sought feedback and took it seriously. To be honest, we were disappointed with the truffle on the pasta. You almost couldn't taste it. I've only ever had truffle oil so I didn't dare mention it. But I found it strange that the truffle olive oil from home tastes more intense than fresh truffles.

2 half carrots = 1 main course Six of us had dinner at Restaurant Kle and paid around CHF 1,000 for the 3 or 4-course menu with wine accompaniment. Afterwards we left hungry. The amuse bouche consisted of underbaked rolls that were covered in a little oil, plus a mini bowl of pickled vegetables, red tomato paste, hummus that had been pureed beyond recognition, and mayonnaise. I didn't find it a very pleasant experience to spread mayonnaise on a warm, undercooked roll. The starter was a kind of large cracker topped with slices of beetroot, which actually tasted very good and was the only dish that had an appealing texture. This was followed by the main course, which consisted of two small, half carrots with an indefinable jus and a spoonful of indefinable puree. As I understand it, two half small carrots are not a main course, they are not even a side dish, but at best a garnish. When I saw this plate, at first I thought it was a joke. But no... The final dessert was a spoonful of chocolate mousse with a spoonful of peppermint ice cream, topped with peppermint oil. The chocolate mousse was too thick and the peppermint ice cream was slightly watery. I can't say anything about the taste because the intense peppermint oil overwhelmed any other flavor. Overall, neither the flavors nor the textures of the entire menu were convincing. The mini portions reminded me of the nouvelle cuisine of the 80s. In terms of nutrition, you also feel like you've been transported back to times gone by: this cuisine offers far too little protein and vitamins. There is a lack of freshness, a lack of crunch, everything is too soft, too musty, too one-dimensional. The expert service and the interesting wines, which were well explained, will be remembered positively. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio doesn't work at all. Ultimately, I expect a convincing culinary experience from a restaurant of this quality and I don't want to go home hungry and have to make myself a few more breads. For us it was the first and probably last visit to the Kle. A pity!

I like to support vegan restaurants in Zurich, but I think Kle is overrated. I'm a fan of simple restaurants without a lot of fancy, but the service at Kle does the job at best averagely for a village pub. For the price it would be appropriate to have staff who at least know how to serve plates or pour wine. The food was also fine, but not at the level of a star kitchen. Completely overrated store. It's a shame, I've been saving up for the trip for a long time.

Unfortunately I can only give a maximum of three stars. I agree with other guests. The service staff seems amateurish and inattentive. I waited at the table for more than ten minutes before someone came and asked me what I wanted to drink. The tables on the right and left were served in the meantime. The food was fine but had a dominant vinegar flavor from the fermentation. Two hours is a bit too little time for a multi-course meal - the service staff seemed stressed, the restaurant was loud and therefore rather uncomfortable. All in all, unfortunately the price-performance ratio wasn't right for us either. A pity! My last experience was better.

A wonderful dining experience with extraordinary flavours and attention to detail. I have been here twice and feel like they are only improving their creations over time (pictures only from the first visit). Even a self proclaimed typical "Steak House visitor" was more than impressed by this amazing vegan cuisine. I'm really really sad to give a three star review because the food was very good (ask for the grilled kohlrabi) and the service as well, however there was a pretty serious blunder while I was here. I went for my birthday and as I sat down the waiter asked if I wanted something to drink "for my birthday" so I accepted and they served both me and my girlfriend glasses of wine. However, this drink was not a gift, and they also served us a second bottle of water (5 francs each bottle!) Without asking. All in all I spent almost 35 francs more than I assumed I would pay. For that I would have simply ordered the larger menu. Everybody was very nice, perhaps a simple mistake, but not how it should be done.
