Kleiner Bäckerei Goldbrunnenplatz in Zürich

Unfortunately prices are really inspired by John Baker, but unfortunately quality is not in my opinion. I've had dry croissants several times (probably from the day before?) and burnt bread. But service is very nice. I won't be shopping there again in the future because the value for money isn't right for me!

I ordered a cinnamon roll and a croissant, along with a double espresso. However, I received a normal coffee instead, and the employee didn't seem to understand or know her way around. No, it wasn't a misunderstanding. Since I was in a hurry, I didn't go into it any further. The place is often crowded and the prices are rather expensive. There are better places where the coffee tastes better, that serves the right order and also offers seating. I would also like to have friendlier employees who are motivated to work and make you feel welcome.

I found the baker who was here before better. I don't understand why a bakery has to look like an Apple Store. I just want to get my croissant on Sundays without spending almost 5 CHF and waiting 15 minutes because the hipsters in front of me want to order a soy matcha latte.

Good product, but expensive. The restaurant also exudes the charm of a laundromat...

Update! You don't charge 6.50 for a small piece of bread! No matter if it's made with love... I wonder where the line lies between decency and rip-off. Paying 6.50 for a ridiculous piece of whole wheat bread seems like a total rip off to me. Never again.

The situation described referred to the Kleiner not JUNG bakery. At JUNG you will always receive friendly service, good bread, although rather expensive but this is Zurich. ********* Update: the matter has now been clarified. Until now there were no regulations and it varied depending on the employee. But now a decision has been made and dogs are not allowed. A corresponding adhesive was listed. I adjusted the review to 3 stars, there was no apology for the behavior of the employees. ********* Have been there several times. Bread is good but on the expensive side. Also, on your last visit you almost got hit when you came in with your dog. Although we've been in there a few times and there were dogs there (eg greyhounds with coats on). It would be good if this could be explicitly pointed out outside, like the Keller butcher shop does, for example. So everything is clear then. We didn't really feel we were being treated fairly.

It's a bit too cold...a bit more color would be good.

Edit: The management updated their policy and dogs are now welcome! +1 star :) I was so happy to see that Jung opened in my neighbourhood (I love the Jung near Paradeplatz). But this one is just a rebrand of the previous shop (Kleiner) with the same grumpy people and same atmosphere. It’s a pity dogs aren’t allowed in either (the other branches allows it). I’ll skip this place and head for nicer cafes around.

I used to like the sandwiches from Jung in Enge, but this new opening has been a disappointment after the other. The shiny interiors don’t make up for the below average food and the poor service.

Regrettably, my first encounter with this newly renovated cafe left me disappointed and unenthusiastic about returning. The exterior’s clean and organized appearance, but the normal standard coffee and pastries is not anything special and the staff’s attitude added to the letdown. Despite my calm attempt to take photos, I was met with resistance. This unwelcoming atmosphere has led me to decide against revisiting. My 3-star rating reflects my genuine disappointment, hoping for improvements that may attract other customers in the future. But for me, I gonna not come back again.

You guys have to try harder with the pastries, especially the pain au chocolat. It's very dry. You can go buy them at grand cafe lochergut (half the price, and much better!) and resell them at 4chf. It will work better.

A beautifully decorated shop. The food looks appetizing and is so. But the staff is unfriendly and you don't feel welcome. A pity.

Very unfriendly staff. I went by on various Sundays. The baked goods are fine but the staff destroys the shopping and enjoyment experience. Then I prefer to go to HUG at the blacksmith shop, the counter is always the same but the staff is friendly.

Average bakery nothing special, also doesn‘t felt really friendly (no hello, no goodbye). Better options nearby

The unfriendly employees I have ever experienced. No eye contact, goodbyes and an unfriendly tone towards customers. The prices are too overpriced.

Ordering party rolls (normal and vegan) went well. The rolls were great, and the vegan ones were particularly popular with their interesting interior, and this also applied to non-vegans.

The Amaretti are a dream! Add an espresso (enjoy it in the store!) and the end of the day is saved. Thank you, I'll be happy to come back to you again and again.

Unfortunately, I can only confirm other customers' impression of unfriendly staff. Each of my visits was a disappointment. It's actually a shame because the quality of the products on offer is very good. Luckily there are other bakeries in K3.

Exceptionally unfriendly service, I usually buy something small on Sunday and usually see the same women at the counter. There was no answer when we were greeted and I didn't really expect one, but I really wanted to be polite... well, it's good that there are other bakeries in the area. Breakfast bread has a bitter aftertaste!!

General/Pastries: Quality is good but compared to others in the area prices are way too high and customer service & mood in team with each other is low which reflects on the customer. Now on several occasions, I left this place in a negative temper and feeling I paid for the flashy interior instead of happy employees. For salads and lunch menus: again, good quality... but very low selection of vegetarian options that are not a low calorie salad. Prices also high.

After buying pastries for me and my daughter I askef for two napkins and was in utter disbelief that the owner refused to give me more than one. I have never experienced such greed, and upon asking her why she wouldnt give me more her reply was that it costs them money too...unbelievable to receive such rude service from the owner over a napkin!! Will definitely not be going back here

The worst cappuccino I’ve had in my life. Had to dump it out 🤷‍♂️

Everything is very tasty but the HIT are the lye peaks and the yeast rolls. They were eaten so quickly, I couldn't even take a photo. :-)
