Great place to eat delicious Thai dishes at lunchtime

We had an amazing evening with great food, wonderful service and a very special atmosphere inside a romantic tent in the garden. We will be back for sure!

We probably had the best Tom Kha Gai soup of our lives here. The spices and side dishes were perfectly balanced and the consistency of the soup was simply perfect. The owner was super friendly and always tried hard. An insider tip in Basel and we'll be back :)

Great discovery in the city of Basel with this Thai restaurant. Fabulous dishes with tastes as if we were there. A very good restaurant not to be missed under any circumstances. Be careful, however, when there are three peppers, you have to endure... for me no worries. 🤣. Dinner was really good. We waited a bit because the restaurant was full. And above all, don't forget to book.

The food is extremely tasty. The service is super friendly, attentive and knows what to do! We received our food quickly. It tasted fresh and was of good quality! In terms of price it is within reason. If you like Thai food, you should definitely stop by. It's worth it.

The food was excellent, I enjoyed the pad Thai noodles with tofu. The tofu could have used a bit of spice but was otherwise very balanced. The portion was too much for me but it was packed up for me and I was able to enjoy it again the next day. The dishes marked with 1-3 chili peppers are spicy, even one pepper can be very spicy depending on your taste. The service was very friendly. The atmosphere is lovingly designed and cozy. We sat outside in the backyard.

We ordered red and green Thai curry and had it delivered. The extra request was taken into account. The food was very hot, which is not always a given when it is delivered. The green Thai curry was an absolute delight. The red Thai curry was also very tasty - although the beef was a bit tough at times. The portions were sufficiently large. Another plus point: you can, but don't have to, order rice separately. So if you prefer to cook a large portion of rice at home, you can do so. I would be happy to order here again.

I've been here several times. The food was always good and the prices are OK. You have to introduce the tilapia 🐟 (Pla Lad Prig) in the picture, I wanted to try the dish and can recommend it to everyone, it was very tasty! The conditions are always very friendly. It can get very crowded very quickly during lunchtime, so it's worth making a reservation.

Loud ventilation noise in the garden, nice service, food ok but overrated here. High prices in a direct comparison of the Thai food Basel scene which is of the same quality. The thing about the ventilation is my feeling as well as the quality of the food etc. The answer is a great example of how not to communicate with customers via you, neither are we. Ps Lots of high ratings, you could also buy these.

I really like the cuisine here. Of the many Thai restaurants in the area, this is one of the best. Authentic, varied (in the evening) and fresh. The staff and operators are extremely friendly. Sometimes the speed of the service staff shows how few people they use to manage the full shop. The desserts in summer are very creative (e.g. homemade ice cream on a stick) If there is space, you can enjoy the whole thing in the small backyard. Great, here we come again!

In a neighborhood where restaurants offer dishes for 25-30 CHF, a nice surprise on a Monday lunchtime with this excellent Thai which offers (in addition to the menu) 4 copious and excellent daily specials between 15 and 20 CHF. Fast, welcoming and impeccable service, very good place to eat while visiting the old town.

Nicely decorated restaurant and courtyard, with tuk tuks in it. Everything very clean and well-kept. Service tries very hard and is on the ball. There are various lunch menus at reasonable prices (see website). Evening menu has more choice.

We were in Basel this weekend. My Thai wife would like to taste the food from the various chefs. This restaurant is absolutely great. The Phad krapouw nua juice was definitely worth 8 stars. Unfortunately, Google only goes up to 5 stars. Furthermore, a nice clean place and friendly service. This restaurant is worth adding Basel to your travel destination.

Excellent, closely authentic Thai food. Great balance of flavours, spice/chili was a bit mild for me but the addition of the chili in fish sauce was good to boost it. Think about reserving if you want a spot outside.

We went here out of curiosity because we could not believe how good the reviews were but they exceeded every expectation and are worth every star. Every dish was amazing with both bold and subtle flavors. The service from Martin was personal, friendly, and immediate without being obtrusive and the restaurant feels like a small oasis in the heart of the city. I would not change a single thing about this place and look forward to returning soon.

A small island of peace in the middle of Basel. The Kornhaus restaurant is simply more than just Thai food. The boss Martin welcomes his guests personally and very warmly and leads them through the rather narrow restaurant to their seats. (In summer of course also in the small inner courtyard with around 25 seats). Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and authentic Thai food. All the food is of the best quality and the entire staff offers a very high quality of service. Absolutely recommended, the price-performance ratio is good and corresponds to the Basel average.

I was at the Thai Kitchen Kornhaus last week. Previously I only knew the location on Maulberstrasse. The Kornhaus met my expectations. Stylish and comfortably furnished. It was shady in the garden and therefore not too hot. I quenched my thirst with a homemade hibiscus iced tea and then treated myself to the lunch menu (Tom ka gai soup). I never had to wait long and for dessert there was lollipo ice cream. I'll be happy to come back and thank you for the nice service!

Went there as part of a large group, they were nice enough to accommodate a last min request to add extra people to the booking. Excellent food and superb service and a free cookie! Could not have asked for anything better. Will definitely go back again soon!

Visually, the curry looked delicious and rich and that's how it tasted. Really authentic. And the spring rolls are perhaps even my favorite rolls in Basel. I will definitely eat there regularly.

Mega curry with duck and great service! Yesterday I visited the Kornhaus "Thai Food Kitchen 41" The welcome was great. As a starter I ordered YAM NUE. This beef salad tasted like it was in Thailand. Perfect. PED YANG was served as the main course. The crispy duck with vegetables, ginger sauce with extra ginger and then lots and lots of fresh chili. "Me like. Tiptop!" I would like to visit this restaurant again very soon. Marco
