We were thrilled. La Casa Chilena is a bit hidden in Bern's old town but is a real insider tip. Small family business. The host came to our table twice to talk to us. The staff was very friendly. Calm mood. Because La Casa Chilena is in a basement, the location seems a bit cool.

We booked an empanadas cooking class with bowling as a team event and really had a lot of fun. Eric is an extremely friendly host and you can feel the passion for his projects. The food afterwards was wonderful - even the homemade one.

The menu at Casa Chilena is very fast food/fried food heavy (kind of like a Fonda in Chile). That's a bit of a shame, because Chilean cuisine has many specialties (stews, caldos, seafood, etc.) that are much more elegant. Unfortunately the price/performance of the products is not right. Instead of fresh avocado, an industrial guacamole mix was used, which completely obscures the taste of the avocado and the sandwich. The meat of the churrasco was extremely tough and instead of fresh pebre, chimichurri was served with the sopaipillas.

La Casa Chilena just today. Me and my friend went there at around 6:50pm to have a dinner, unfortunately I found used toothpick inside of one of their olive oil. I puked and I felt disgusted because of it. I called the Filipina Supervisor and she apologized for what happened but there was no corrective action taken. We left unhappy and disatisfied because we still have to pay for what we ate despite of the their negligence. I hope this message will reach the concern department so that they will make an action.

A beautiful, quite and delicious place to eat

Fantastic food, yummy, tasty empanadas, meat as well as cheese ones. We also tried the 'sopaipillas' a kind of deep fried savory donuts served with 'pebre' a tomato, cilantro, onions dip. We also had the Vegan 'pastel de choclo' which is a corn pie with veggies deliciously prepared in the oven. Finally the Pisco drinks were super well prepared too. This is a true authentic experience of Chile for anyone who is a foody. Five star experience
