Always worth a culinary trip - fast, fine, Italian.

We had booked a short vacation on Lake Lucerne for 4 days. Since the hotel restaurant was closed, we went to La Fontana. This then became daily. The reception is very friendly. From a culinary point of view, all dishes are of a very high standard. The chef knows his craft! We say thank you for the exceptional food!

Quiet and very friendly environment, clean and well looked after. Wide variety on the menu. Very good pizza, the food didn't disappoint us either! What can I say, we will definitely be back!

Poor service seems to be standard there. At first the bread with the salad was forgotten, no one came, other tables had received bread with the salad. Then we just ate the salad like that. Pizza Calzone was baked far too short, the mozzarella didn't even melt. Maybe it was because something was burning in the oven about 10 minutes before, and the whole restaurant was full of smoke. Paying was very difficult afterwards, we waited at least 20 minutes to pay. That can't happen at midday, we came back late to work because of it. There weren't really many people that day so it should be possible to collect in a timely manner. My colleague's menu was okay, but it was a bit carelessly prepared.

We stumbled on this Italian restaurant whilst doing a bit of google research, whilst staying at Felmis hotel. There were a few Italian restaurants in Horw to choose from, but we opted to go to La Fontana. The restaurant did not disappoint us The food was lovely, and reasonably priced and the staff were very efficient, friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very full with other customers which is always good too. I'd definitely visit this restaurant again.

The first time in this restaurant, I opted for a family dinner, the atmosphere in the restaurant was relaxing, unfortunately there was no music on the terrace and you could hear everything that was being said around, the food was partly good, for the price displayed the food was up to standard, the staff was partly friendly, it depends on who was serving, a waiter was even very arrogant to our questions but we didn't let ourselves be discouraged. The portion of meat (rindsfile) cost a lot of 41 francs without anything additional, the portion of potatoes or pasta etc. was paid separately. Prices a bit steep, from my side this Italian restaurant deserves only 3 stars.
