Le Carrousel de Vidy in Lausanne

We were there spontaneously. When the weather is nice, outside, directly at the harbor, with a view of the mountains. I would especially like to mention the great iced coffee.

30 francs for a dish of gnocchi with flavorless tomato sauce, this restaurant is not worth it! In addition, they charge 2 francs per glass for tap water. The pizzas are expensive and basic. The setting has potential, but it's old, old decor and depressing. Run away!

The sommeliers are charming and know how to place people! However, the chef is struggling and still has to learn...

If you're looking for good food, this isn't it. The value for money is not there. Last Sunday, we had two pizzas for 25 francs each and quite frankly, you can make the same at home for 5.-. On the other hand, the setting is very pleasant for eating in the shade by the lake. Simply put, in my opinion, the quality of the food is more than average and the food is of poor quality. Also note that you will be charged 2.- per person for a carafe of water (not bottled mineral water), regardless of your consumption (on this account, go to the toilet to drink). No one ever came to take our order after 30 minutes even though we asked the waiter who passed in front of us I don't know how many times! As a result we left. Zero service.

A great family meal, very good value for money because the dishes are very good and plentiful, the pizzas are large and sufficiently garnished. The setting is very pleasant and the service is up to par. We had a great time...

Terrasse and view magnifique! The service was good but the food was not. We ordered 2 salads and given the price (28chf per salad) we were really disappointed. Nothing was home made and the quality of the product was really bad. The carafe of water is 2chf per person, I find it something not acceptable. The bottle of sparkling water was 8.90chf. For this price there are much better restaurants around. I don’t recommend

Shaded and pleasant terrace by the lake

The outdoor setting is really very nice by the lake. The food is good and the waiters are very attentive and smiling.

Great location. Very unfriendly and complicated operation. Drank a beer and ate an ice cream scoop. I asked for an ice cream card, which he got. Afterwards I asked if they had non-alcoholic beer. He said I had to order together, he didn't want to run back and forth. Oh well...

Service was good, food was even better. Linguini with seafood was good. Sat outside in fresh air with view. If mobility is an issue, can't park next to building.

Hello, we reserved a table for Thursday 08.06 and we were 6 people! We didn't know if we were going to eat or not! The welcome was pitiful and the service more than unpleasant! When we said that we don't know if we eat or not they became jaded and unpleasant! “You should have told us first” were the waiter’s exact words. The department manager came to take away our services and was visibly more than annoyed. It's not a lack of space... they have opened 1/3 of the places. For a first and last experience there I am more than disappointed! Don't go there! Better to go elsewhere!

I actually like this place a lot. Food is really good and service fantastic! Super great location by the lake so that you could go for a spectacular walk around. Very nice environment! There’s a great terrace to enjoy your meal with the view. But… every time I go I ask myself why entire outside furniture has to be that bad looking? Old style, made of dark green plastic… Interior is old and not pretty either, that’s a downside of this place definitely. For the rest it is great!:)

Came at 6, We ordered 6 glasses. After 20 minutes, still nothing but the waitress reassures us, after 25 minutes they change the barrels, after 35 minutes the barrel is dead. We need to change the beer...

It's not what it used to be, too bad

The food was not good and the portions too small especially considering the price. I gave it two stars because the servers were friendly.

We had a snack after a funeral. The sommelier was execrable from start to finish! Even allowing himself to tell us that he didn't need us... Execrable character!

It’s a huge place with a view over the lake Geneva. It gives the Swiss vibes with a beautiful view. We asked for reservation and got it the same day, but it wasn’t crowded at all. We had different pizzas and all were good. The entree it was good too. The menu clearly have some vegetarian options and the waiters are professional and care a lot. General for a causal meeting, here seems good with a very nice location.

Excellent time, dish, seevice and atmosphere nothing to complain about. Plus the place is very nice, not to mention on the quays so if you want to end up with a little walk by the lake this is the ideal place..

Enjoyed the cooking with sauces and meats in the oven just right. Well seasoned. The quality of the wine was top notch, well chosen by the management.

Our daughter's baptism meal took place at the Carrousel de Vidy. There were about 45 of us and we ate in the small raised private room. We were able to choose the menu from a large choice and the prices were very reasonable. The Frederici brothers supported us very professionally in the organization. From aperitif to dessert, the service was great (very friendly, professional and super organized) and the meal was very good and very well presented. The dessert tiramisu was the best I have ever eaten. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Very very disappointed! Having purposely looked at the menu on the internet before we came because our daughter wanted perch fillets and best of all there are some in the children's menu at a price of 16.-! Once I got there, the perch fillets are not displayed on the children's menu so I ask the waiter and he tells me that the site is not up to date and that no, there are none for children but that they can make half portions for 31.-!!! Casily double it!! High season and the site is not up to date?? I feel like it’s a scam! So we took a normal plate for 41.- shared for my two children!! The server is also not great! Very disappointed! Apart from a nice view, the rest is meh for us and expensive for what it is!

Impeccable service, pizza prices more expensive than average. Top fries, well prepared rostbeaf. Good location close to the lake, free parking space 3hoo.

Persecutory and unpleasant service

Derogatory, unpleasant staff, barely arrived already almost kicked out by being called poor for having taken 10 pizzas for 12 people...

We celebrated our son's 20th birthday at the Carrousel, we were 20 adults and 4 children. Everything was perfect from the first contact, and on the big day we were served very well by Julien, thanks to him! We ate very well so really faultless.

A pizza with a receipt baked between the dough and the cheese. The restaurant made us pay for the pizza. Scandal ! My friend realized after swallowing a piece of paper. The least thing would be to offer a new pizza.

We went to the Vidy carousel in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday. The place wasn't too busy and we were still served pizza and ice cream. It was good, the restaurant is well located. There is a view of the port. I recommend

I've been coming to your place since I was little, but lately the staff has been very unpleasant! I came Thursday at noon with my daughter and my husband. I asked the waiter if it was possible to modify the children's menu, he gave me a very bad response, saying to look at the menu! He was unpleasant throughout and I don't know why he would talk to people like that, especially when you are polite to him. After all these years I will never come back and I will talk about this story as much as possible!

Disappointed. I had good memories of the Carrousel though Caprese salad and Caesar salad at the same price. My colleague with her Caesar salad, a hearty and tempting plate. For my part, frankly little served. Beautiful tomatoes of all colors but not enough in quantity. And the mozzarella which must have been bufala... dry! Was it frozen? In short, not very good. Plus frankly expensive for what it is. 28.- a caprese salad!!!

We organized an aperitif + wedding meal and really nothing to complain about besides we hadn't tasted the menu and all the guests were won over. The owners are at the top with their customers and always with a smile and impeccable staff we can say go there with pleasure. PS excellent cuisine thank you again

A little problem with the waiter who didn't understand French well but good responsiveness from the manager who offered me, without animosity, a limoncello coffee to apologize, well I think that's great! There were 4 of us eating yesterday. We had a soda, a beer and 3 dl of red wine as a drink and a carafe of tap water. We were charged 2 fch for this one...it's a real shame....is this legal property? Especially since the dishes were good...really petty...

Forty of us ate in this magnificent restaurant with a view of the port of Vidy. The food was excellent, the organization perfect, we were served by Vincente who took really good care of us! Thanks to the whole team 🙏

Nice, quiet place, by the lake. I ate a delicious dish with prawns, morels and saffron, but there was little on the plate. Too bad, I was left hungry. My friend wasn't super enthusiastic about her pizza. But overall it remains a very good address by the lake.
