Thai Orchidée in Lausanne

Very nice atmosphere but we waited an hour to eat, we ordered two soups and the girl only brought us one. Then it took a long time to bring the second dish. It was very good but I ordered Chicken Bacilic and it was super spicy but the menu didn't specify if it was spicy or not. It's also very expensive, we paid over 100 francs for two soups and chicken in sauce, we hope they will improve the customer service and waiting time.

Im really shocked to have to write this.. I have come to Thai Orchidee a few years ago and really enjoyed their food, especially their pad thai. This time however, I decided to get take away pad thai and they showed me to the take away joint nearby. The service was really good, order promptly taken, there was a deal to get a tea with it that the server added, so far so good. I come home and am a little confused by the massive chunks of chicken on top of my noodles.. I try and eat some noodles on their own, they’re very clumpy and 2/3 dont have sauce on them (still white), I try the chicken next, and my god it really smells off. The whole dish tasted really bad and nothing like a pad thai you’d expect :( I’m unsure if the kitchen staff changed, if the takeaway has their own staff, but I’m writing this after a few bites of a dish I will NOT complete.

The service is always impeccable and the food very good. I'm vegan and always have seitan or tofu, the dishes are excellent! And the manager (or at least a waitress who has worked there for a long time) is adorable

Excellent food but never eaten there due to the place which is not very welcoming in my opinion.

Ordered for delivery, half of the dishes are missing. Missing 2 soups, 2 fragrant rice, 1 drink. Out of 11 things ordered. As it was late, impossible for them to make up for their mistake, the delivery man was “sorry”.

Noodle soup from the infamous chef, flavorless broth. Just plenty of pasta and a little meat. Jasmine tea at 6.- per portion…

To take away, the samosas were not with chicken but with vegetables... the sweet and sour chicken was completely overcooked, you could no longer distinguish the flesh from the breading....

I would like to express my satisfaction after dining in the Thai Orchid restaurant. I opted for your vegetarian dish, the vegetable fried rice, and I must say it was really delicious. Once again, thank you for a great dining experience.

Thai Orchid is a great restaurant, it offers an exceptional choice of main course or sushi, the meals are delicious and there are a good quantity on the plates. The decor of the restaurant is magnificent, the only downside is the price is barely higher than average.

Tom yum soup wasn't really a tom yum, yet tasty. The curry was excellent. A bit expensive.

As thai people i would say this is not real thai food.we ordered Pad Thai with chicken and what we got it wasn’t seem like Pad thai at all. We got a fried noodle and on top of chicken with teriyaki sauce. And we ordered beef in chili sauce or something and that was so salty. The waitresses were friendly and nice to sit but the taste wasn’t really good

Saturday November 18: we come to eat in the hope of having a pleasant time in a pretty Thai setting, despite the sweating of one of the waiters, the brightness of the lamps being too bright which increases the desire for customers to raise their voices and who increases the noise in the room, not very pleasant during the meal. The decoration on the plate wasn't very well done, for this price we expected a little more than that anyway. We leave a bit disappointed unfortunately. I don't know if we will come back.

Great ! The service is impeccable, waitresses and waiters friendly and smiling. We were amazed at how quickly we received our dishes. Delicious dishes, we will come back with pleasure!

First of all: they explicitly say that the vegetarian/vegan options have fish sauce in them. This should be unacceptable in 2023 in Europe. The food was not particularly good, and it was rather expensive. Service: They forgot to being us a dish for one of us, so 2 people were eating and the other had to wait an additional 20 minutes because they wrote down the wrong order.

Just one metro stop away from the train station. Pleasant ambience, comfortable seating, helpful and English-speaking crew, brisk service, huge portions, the biggest prawns I've seen in my life. The tom yum is more Malaysian/Singapore-flavored; the rest incl. chicken fried rice was outstanding. Well done and thank you for a lovely evening!

My favorite restaurant when I go to the center of Lausanne. The setting is very pretty, the lunch menus are very well served. I love casseroles and noodle soup which is gigantic. The lunch options are varied: several daily menus as well as bento and sushi boat

Don't think the cooks ever eaten real Thai food before

One of the best Thai restaurants we have been to. The service was excellent, ambience was pleasant and the food was top class. Tom yum soup was mild but flavorful. Iron pot fish was spicy, as promised. Order the iron pot if you can handle the heat. Red curry was mild but packed with flavors. Do try the lychre jasmine iced tea. Extremely happy with the food and the service. Considering their excellent service and food quality, the prices are quite reasonable. A must visit if you like Thai food.

Takeaway red curry chicken. Very good. A little lacking in vegetables but... very pleasant. Fast and professional service. In short, to try it is to adopt it!

A restaurant that I really like, I've been coming there for years, the welcome is warm, the food is excellent, all at very reasonable prices. The Chinese fondue is great, as well as the "bun" from which we choose the meat, with lots of flavors. Very nice decor, tables sufficiently isolated to make you feel cozy. I highly recommend!

Above all, do not take vegetables as a side dish +20.- per person (without indicating it when ordering) :-(

Meal good but not exceptional, a little expensive.

Too expensive for what it is and food not fresh. I went there yesterday for the first time with my daughter. We had fried rice with shrimp (25chf) and a soup with coconut milk and shrimp (12chf). The soup was very good but very disappointed to find canned mushrooms. The same goes for fried rice. Finding yourself paying 25chf for frozen vegetables is indecent. And there was a huge sweet soy sauce on the rice but the whole thing was too salty at the same time. In short, I won't come back.

Very bad experience this evening (08/26/23). Wrong ordering, dessert missing ingredients (no ice cream in the banana) and on top of that the manager to make a gesture gives the desert supposedly “free” and in the end it is taxed in the payment… I I doubt I'll be back again...

30 minutes of waiting for 2 starters with a more than suspicious taste and especially not Thai....avoid tamboille for sores

The waitresses are super nice. Welcoming and polite. Really super nice lady. The food is good. the decoration is superb. The only downside is perhaps the music which doesn't match the atmosphere (but you can't hear it much so that's okay). I highly recommend you!!!

Delicious restaurant, dishes also for vegetarians. The chicken sautéed with garlic and pepper is a treat! The setting is very friendly, the waitress was pleasant.

Be sure to try their green curry, especially the chicken flavor, which is rich in ingredients and delicious. The interior decoration is a magical Japanese + Thai style, which is very unique. The waiter also speaks very good English and has a friendly attitude. Recommended for friends who like Thai food to try it.

Nice sushi and beautiful decor, gives you the impression of a very fancy place. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but the inside is really charming. I was a bit disappointed with the service. The waitress did not know much and was not too willing to advise when we asked for a component replacement, but after a long debate, she made it happen, so it worked out. But it is definitely a place to come back in order to try other dishes.

Not the best Thai in town, but good curry, good portions andd tasty flavors. Do not miss their homemade hot chilli sauce. It is the bomb! Literally;)

All very good, pleasant environment, but a little overpriced!

We were a group of 10 and in dire need of good Asian food in the Flon area. Unfortunately, there was a mix up with the kitchen and it took over an hour for our food to be served so that set a negative tone. The food was ok. The penang chicken was the most authentic option and we tried a range. The pad thai was more soy/fish sauce based than we're used to so that did not satisfy our craving. Our hungry table of patrons did not enjoy that dish and left most of it. Other diners in the restaurant seemed pleased with their dishes so perhaps we just didn't order the right ones. Server was friendly and felt badly we had waited so long.
