Inattentive service. The burgers are delicious and are neither too small nor too big.

The staff is friendly and helpful, the place is clean, but the music is excessively loud. I couldn't talk with the person sitting next to me, and I came home with ringing ears. It was more like a disco than a pub.

Edit March 2024: What happened to this bar? The food used to be so good but now, the onions rings were overcooked (very dark brown) and tasting just like deep fried oil, the gnocchi a la napolitaine where not good, the sauce was like the one you can get at the supermarket but the worst was the chicken cordon Bleu that was Raw in the middle. The staff were kind enough to remove it from the bill, but hopefully we didn't get any bacteria like salmonella.. 🙁 Original A very nice bar with a quite big terrasse, the food is very good and you have a good choice of different alcohol and cocktails. But the highlight was definitely the waitress, super smile, super friendly and loving her job, that brings the extra something to the user experience..

Burger was nuked. So dry it was like eating tumbleweed. Can't fault the service, I felt sorry for them, but food has moved on since the mad cow crisis.

Great discovery in Lausanne, we took the cordon bleu for two people, it was very good and of good quality. The quantity was generous and the prices were really fair. I found the decoration original, the place was warm and the servers very pleasant, I recommend.

Evening meal with friends! The place is well located close to the city center! Pub/restaurant atmosphere! On one side there are tables for having drinks and watching TV with football/rugby matches! On the other side, a quieter restaurant! Friendly waiters! Pub cuisine with classic burgers, and some brasserie dishes! Affordable wine list! Ate the pulked pork burger! Perfect with sweet potatoes! Great and super friendly waiter, really sweet person who was delightful with us and our children. However, poke tune and poke chicken bowls not enticing at all. Hard rice, a creepily old guacamole and chicken that was not fresh or tender. I’d recommend taking something else on the menu.

Great place for some meals and drinks. I basically go there for lunch to have the Turkey Schnitzel which is a specialty of theirs and is definitely for 2 people to share. Nice place in the centre of town.

Boiling atmosphere. Friendly servers Poke bowl with good flavor but super dry rice. Very disappointing. Like some old rice lying around at the bottom of the fridge. Damage.

A well-known and popular address. Perhaps too much for a meal for two at the end of the week. Difficult to discuss and hear each other, unless you come there with friends and forget the surrounding noise. For the meal, too bad for the steak ordered rare and served overcooked, well done, too much to appreciate the quality of the meat. An effort to make on the minimum required for cooking, mastering cooking. I might come back there with friends, but not to enjoy a quiet, cozy meal for two.

We were tempted by this restaurant by chance! A good discovery overall, nice cocktail and wide choice of beers. I tasted the Ceviche as a starter which was very good, then the cordon bleu for 2 people for 49.- a great formula and a very good idea! However, I would have appreciated it being a little less cooked on the outside. A good Lausanne address that I recommend! Thanks to the team.

My experience at the restaurant was generally positive. The servers were friendly. As for the food, the “star” burger I ordered was overall good, accompanied by a salad and huge fries. The meat was well cooked. However, I noticed that the meat was a little lacking in seasoning. As for dessert, I chose the matcha crème brûlée. Unfortunately, this choice turned out to be very disappointing. The crème brûlée was poorly prepared, the texture was not creamy as it should have been. The caramelized crust was non-existent and it was cold/lukewarm overall. This was the biggest negative point of my meal. I hope this feedback will be helpful to the establishment so that it can continue to improve.

In two we took the cordon bleu for two persons. The price vs quantity is very convenient. It was a good cordon blue, I particularly appreciated the breading of it and the fries (sweet potato) were good as well.

One of the problems inside is that it is very noisy.

But lousy from start to finish... on the phone to reserve a table for lunch... bother ok... upon arrival the reception is speedy and not friendly... good for the price and all that... the Coop restaurant is sincerely equal and without stress around

The cordon bleu was absolutely delicious and so were the sweet potato fries. However, there were slightly fewer fries than I expected. Despite this, the atmosphere is pleasant and the service correct.

Team lunch on July 26, 2023 Here are the facts: We order cordon bleu and beef tartares for 6 people. At least 40 minutes later we still didn't have our food on the table. I inquire with the service who are very sorry and ask us to wait a little longer. Finally, our dishes arrive but we have to notice that the fries are cold, the salad bathed in sauce, the tartars which had no real taste or even traces of fishy taste and the cordon bleu dried out. Other than the drinks and bread, I don't see what was good here. For me, this is clearly a dysfunction in staff management and a lack of standards for food quality. Unfortunately, the poor woman who served us had to hear all our comments and I would like to reassure her that she can't do anything about it, on the contrary, she demonstrated what good service is despite the difficult circumstances. I even want to apologize for what she must have heard. On the other hand, I am explicitly addressing the management of the White Star and I advise you to take my comments seriously because I am convinced that I am not the only one to have experienced such a situation. Your establishment has lost quality to the point that I don't see how I could return there. The White Star has unfortunately become a place without stars and I encourage you to please address this because these problems are noticeable as a customer. It's a shame for this historic bar/restaurant and also for all those who leave this place with a bad feeling of having paid for a bad experience and who knows, a stomach ache. Lively venue and crowd that ends up dancing sometimes. Service and kitchen fail to hold up the pace sometimes with dinners, yet the atmosphere makes up for it.

Went there for a drink, they were extremely fair as we had a glass of wine and tap water. They didn't charge us for tap water and that was kind of them.

Worst pastry of my life. Example: a cheesecake that isn't crucnhy and a mousse on top that doesn't smell like anything, not even cottage cheese. Example 2: a chocolate bread that is also very soft, tasteless. Bravo white star, you are champions! DISGUSTING!

L'étoile Blanche is the perfect place to have a few drinks in the afternoon or at night, if you are in Lausanne. The ideal would be to sit outside if the weather permits, the terrace is super pleasant, although inside is also a good option. If the idea is to have dinner, it is best to ask for a reservation. On weekends, at night, they have a DJ that plays very well but you can only hear it if you are inside the establishment

Excellent white beer, retro but friendly decoration.

It's been at least 2 years since I went there, I found much better, friendly service and more choice of dishes.

Arriving with friends, we were told that it was complicated to get a table when 4 tables were empty and only 1 marked reserved. We are placed at a completely wobbly round table, if you place an elbow, all the glasses are on the floor... Card by QRcode only.... And the waiter stands next to us for the order without saying a word. ... A friend ordered a bottled beer and the taste was terrible (probably a storage problem) and he didn't drink it. The waiter brings another and counts 2 beers on the bill... anyway... I liked this place a few years ago but it has changed a lot... we won't go back there again...

Very pleasant and mellow Sunday afternoon spent sheltering from torrential rain. The menu swaps from brunch to evening at 3pm. We just made it for brunch. The savoury pancake was like a full breakfast. The burger was very nice and came with a great house sauce. Plenty of choice. All well prepared.

July 2021 We definitely did well to stop there. Very nice terrace, very warm welcome. Since the time we crossed the tables without stopping and each time we were in awe of their copious dishes. We were served by John. A nice guy who knows his products and who advises, warm, friendly, jovial and lively. As soon as I wanted to pay he came back within a minute without making us wait. We had a Chef's hamburger and an Italian hamburger accompanied by fries and salads, pure delights. But watch out for the pump if you go to work afterwards 😅. We'll come back... but with reinforcement 😃😘

A terrace in the heart of Lausanne. Lively and served with a smile. We eat bistro dishes while chatting with friends or colleagues. The pressure is fresh, the fries crispy. The prices are absolutely correct. Having lunch on the sidewalk among passers-by and the flow of cars has something very Parisian in the good sense of the word. We recommend.

Nice terrace for brunch with good menu. Attentive service. Generous portions. My "Canadian" dish was excellent. I give one star less for the location near an intersection with lots of traffic.
