Lindenhof in Bern

I have been to Lindenhof three times in the last three years for medical procedures. I was allowed to stay overnight once and visited as an outpatient twice (the last time yesterday). I really have to say that I felt very well looked after every time from A to Z. During the two outpatient visits, I particularly noticed the good and relaxed working atmosphere among the employees - this of course also has a positive influence on me as a patient. Everyone also takes the time to explain everything very well. And as the icing on the cake, they called me this morning to ask how I was doing, which really made me very happy. Thank you very much :-)

It's a good hospital. I also had good experiences. However, the emergency is a pure catastrophe. Doctors and nurses walk past the patients who have been waiting there for 3 hours with their Tupperware, ravioli, tea, etc. and smile as they do so. Everyone needs to eat and have a break, that's clear. But you don't obviously walk around with food while others are in pain waiting to be treated. And when I complained I was told I could leave because I wanted something from them and not they from me. And you can't say that, unfortunately it's the hospital's duty and not a wish. I will try to go to the other hospitals in the future. Only go to the emergency room at Lindenhofspital in extreme emergencies.

Absolutely top care! Everyone friendly and accommodating!

Was at the emergency room yesterday. Everything worked perfectly and like clockwork. Admission, allocation of bed in the emergency ward, medical examination, CT scan, discussion by doctor with senior physician and specialist, administration of required medication - all within an hour. I've never seen such efficiency in a hospital. Everyone was very friendly and professional, especially the assistant doctor on duty. You all deserve my utmost respect and I would like to thank you very much for your great work.

Friendly and very knowledgeable

I correct my remarks, on November 13 I called 3 times and each time kind, intelligent and competent people answered me. I thank them for reassuring me. This clinic is the best in Bern. Today August 5 in the emergency room, the diagnosis is plausible but the arrogance of the doctors displeased me. Third time that I have been disappointed by the attitude of certain doctors.

The handling with pre-examination, treatment and discharge from the emergency was a 10/10. Bravo well done.

I had back surgery in September. From entry to exit, I found the doctors and the nursing and support staff to be very courteous and committed. 100% recommendation. Thank you

I was seen on September 1st, 2023 by Dr. Ciarpaglini operated. The support from everyone involved was very good. The lack of staff was noticeable in the department, but everyone was very friendly and did their best. I ask myself, what should happen next with our health policy? So the good nurses won't last long. Clapping is not enough.

I wrote these compliments and thank you letters 👍🙋‍♂️🙏🍀 in the patient satisfaction survey and it is very important to me to put this in the recessions! I was at the Lindenhofspital for an umbilical hernia operation on July 11th - July 14th, 2023 and was very satisfied with everything, as you can see from my comments below. I had a bad experience in the emergency room at the hospital. The staff were not friendly and seemed to have no compassion for the patients or their families. I felt that my concerns were not taken seriously and I was not treated appropriately. I would not recommend this hospital.

I went to eat there before a doctor's appointment. The dish was excellent and the staff was very friendly. I can only recommend !

Absolutely disappointed - I am 6 months pregnant and need a checkup. I was rejected that they were no longer accepting new patients! I moved from Zurich to Bern - the Insel women's clinic is absolutely unpleasant and incompetent - LIndenhofspital does not accept any new patients and in general it is practically impossible to find a gynecologist in the Bern district. Sorry - but I always have to commute to Zurich for the examinations. Simply tragic - I will never go to the Lindenhofspital...they don't need it.

Quite a nice hospital restaurant/café with a very nice terrace with a view of the countryside. Friendly service. Small selection of sweets. Unfortunately the restaurant/café is closed on Saturdays and Sundays due to a lack of staff. Drinks vending machines can help out in “emergencies”.

The best hospital in Switzerland! My mother became ill with Covid and had previous illnesses. I then brought her in as an emergency. Great attention was paid to her and not just the slightest thing was done! She also had a great doctor! Thank you Dr. Hagmann! This time we are very disappointed with the care on the 5th floor in the Lindenhofspital Grown people shouldn't be treated like little children. Daily breakfast, at least the coffee should be served hot if breakfast is served after nine o'clock. Patient waits patiently! Transfer to a double room with diarrhea / vomiting and incontinence with previous isolation and an unclear diagnosis is unreasonable, which is why your patient rushed to discharge himself. Ring! After 20 minutes of waiting (wife was present and can confirm this) a FAGE comes up. A lot of things can happen during this time, for example a fall. It all turned out a bit unfortunate, there is good and bad care despite staff shortages, you should pay attention and not look away

I was in an emergency on Saturday evening. In fact, I trained in this hospital before, it was very good, its staff and its doctor. This time I was unfortunately disappointed. I couldn't sleep because of a sore throat, I went to the hospital around 2 a.m. The doctor hasn't taken care of my illness yet, she tells me to come in the morning if possible. If I didn't go, I ask myself, if he didn't go, what is this doctor's job? I hope someone in authority reads this.

I've had bad experiences with emergencies in recent years. I was in the Lindenhofspital for an operation in March 2023 and I was very satisfied. The patient is looked after carefully. Thanks to the care from the 3rd floor! All very competent. The food was also delicious. The rooms are cleaned very well.

Very good and attentive care and support, a lot is done to make the stay as pleasant as possible. Unfortunately the wait was (too) long until a hospital bed became available.

Care is A1, great staff, kitchen poor. Salad smells like it hasn't been washed. Chef was just here and brought me a freshly washed salad. Thanks

I went to Lindenhofspital for knee surgery. The stay was very pleasant (considering the circumstances). The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout. Despite the undoubtedly high level of stress, the nursing staff cared for every patient in my room in a very calm and friendly manner. Thank you for that.

The treatments over the 2 days were great. As stated by the nursing woman, assistant doctor, senior doctor and specialist doctors were competent and set goals. Thank you very much to everyone

Amazing hospital - had my first big operation and prolonged hospital stay there and every single member of the staff was wonderful, especially the nurses. I very much appreciate their kindness and care during this stressful time! From the ER, to the MRI and orthopedic team to the operating table - every single person involved was highly competent, professional and empathetic. A big thank-you to all. I have to complain about the food, which was truly awful. Everything tasted of salt and wasn’t good at all. The kitchen was not flexible and I could not order from the menu unless I did so the day or many hours before. Good and healthy food is an important part of recovery and for a private Swiss hospital, what I was served was unacceptable. I am still giving the hospital 5 stars, because the medical care is exceptional and that is the most important thing when facing a health obstacle.

Got an apprenticeship as a health specialist! The staff was very friendly throughout. The Lindenhofspital also convinced me that they care deeply about the quality of life of their patients.

2nd stay in the neurology department and still a good feeling. The staff is competent, attentive, and does its best to treat you as best as possible with great professionalism. The food is very decent. Compliments too because many nurses speak several languages, including French.

Medicine and care 👍👍👍 Providing assistance to patients over 90 is “part” of the mission. In this day and age this is not a given. So thank you very much for that! Admin 👍 Real marketing starts in the switchboard and not with ppl presentations. The employees at the reception/telephone are always 👍👍 The queue "all lines are busy" 👎 - but that doesn't have to be the case in an acute hospital - maybe worth another thought.

Very rude and incompetent treatment in the emergency room. Since I came with a child, I was informed that they would not treat children. You could write on the homepage, even Medphone didn't know this. Tip, if you don't want to work there anymore, quit the job and do something else.

Oh yes, one more thing, about all the bad reviews. We are all just human! Be glad you were helped! You just have to help the doctor too! TEAMWORK!

My husband is in very good hands there

From the day clinic to the inpatient stay, I experienced an expert and trained team that always gave me optimal care. Many many thanks! The technology in the rooms is a bit outdated, but the operating room is very modern. The small restaurant on the ground floor offers all kinds of tasty food and invites you to linger. The large garden encourages you to move.

I had surgery with Dr. from April 4th to April 10th, 2022. O. Lehmann I would like to thank the whole team again for treating me so kindly and competently, and also a thank you to the kitchen. Suggestion for room 422 bed furniture, the bottom part of the door can be tilted, it always hits the floor when new arrivals open it. I had a head injury some time ago and went to Lindenhofspital in Bern. Extremely well treated by the staff. Hospital is very well equipped and organized. Special thanks to Dr. Nina Mäder.

My colleague (refugee from Mariupol, Ukraine) recently underwent cervical spine surgery at Lindenhof Hospital and asked me to write the following: The Ukrainian refugee would like to thank the Lindenhofspital team and surgeon Dr. med. Ciarpaglini, nurses Rahel Ogi, Renate Stoll, Seraina Recht and Ms. Arpagaus (6th floor) their professionalism and humanity.

The Outpatient Surgical Center is surprisingly high in terms of the quality of patient care. Very friendly reception, quick allocation to the anesthetist and also the preliminary discussion with him the day before. Fears professionally until the exit. I had problems with my circulation after the operation (true but known to me). They took everything into consideration until things got better again. (Have a nice coffee to wake up and lots of good snacks) because you get hungry after the anesthesia despite outpatient treatment! Simply a great team! We even called home the day after and asked how I felt. Never experienced thumbs up.

I was in the Lindenhof Hospital in November 2021 because of intervertebral disc problems. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. In my opinion this hospital deserves 5*.

My mother was intubated following Covid19 a year ago, I was impressed by the competence of the staff but also by the human side of the caregivers whom I thank with all my heart because they saved my mother. I 100% recommend this hospital and especially the intensive care!

The assistants and doctors in the emergency room were very unfriendly and evasive. I was treated dubiously and my pain was not taken seriously. I was never told what to do next and was let down several times. Several hours passed while I waited alone in the room until I had to pull myself together to get up and call someone at reception. P.s. I was 1 patient of 2 in the emergency that evening.

I had to go to the emergency yesterday because I had an unsightly rash after diarrhea, fever and vomiting and my family doctor was taking further training. Was warmly welcomed and treated as someone who had not been vaccinated. Of course, a test (negative) was carried out but I did not insist on immediate vaccination, as was the case in July in a large Bern hospital, which I refused.

I was in good hands at the Lindenhof. The nursing staff was loving and competent. I felt cared for and grateful

Hello, I had a right hip prosthesis on June 8th, 2021 by Dr.med. Carsten Mees deployed. I felt that I was taken very seriously during the preliminary examinations and that I was precisely prepared for the operation. I was able to follow everything through the partial anesthesia. Today, Saturday, June 12th, 2021, I'm already back home and feeling very good. Thank you, Dr. Mees and the entire Lindenhof hospital team with all my heart for the exemplary and friendly care. Today, September 7th, 2021 after my doctor's appointment in Dr. med. Carsten Mees, I'm back to it and only when I think about my hip can I notice the hip prosthesis. My thanks also go to the physiotherapist team at Lindenhofspital, my therapist Mr. Hausheer and Mr. Moser, who stepped in during Mr. Hausheer's vacation, who were of great help and support to me in the preparation for the operation and afterwards. The pain clinic leaves a lot to be desired. The doctor, whom I had never seen before, had already made the diagnosis before I entered the premises the first time. He didn't examine me, ask about any complaints or take my medical history. His torrent of talk prevented me from asking questions or inquiring into his monologue. The time and effort spent on this consultation was for absolutely nothing. The worst part is that I took home another lousy Demigods in Weiss experience. What I'm really missing and why I'm in pain is up in the air. I expect something different from a pain clinic and I'm sure I'm not the only patient.

I gave birth to my two daughters in the Lindenhof and my emergency appendectomy took place there. Apart from the emergency admission where I was rudely not taken seriously when I expressed the suspicion that I had an inflamed appendix (unfortunately there are not really ideal staff everywhere), I have had consistently positive experiences and am very happy to have such a great hospital nearby to know.

I gave birth to my son there in 2020. The midwives during the birth were great, the postpartum period was terrible. There was no time for nursing. That's really a pity. The food was always delicious. Still four points because the midwives were really, really good.

I was there on June 17th. in case of emergency. I was treated very kindly and sensitively. The doctors and nursing staff made a very competent and caring impression. If I had to go to hospital again, the Lindenhofspital would be my first choice.

I gave birth to my first child at the Lindenhof and can only rave about it! The midwives are so empathetic and personable, even though I have normal insurance, i.e. semi-private, my husband was always pampered and even got his own bed😂. I was allowed to give birth in a huge birthing room, it was a dream birth. Thank you! I will also give birth to my second child, which is due in May!🥰❤️👍🏼👍🏼

For Covid testing in the Lindenhof. Reliable and prompt

I was there on the evening of January 1, 2019 because I fell uncontrollably onto my face and the whole force hit my nose. Was momentarily unconscious. I hit a pot with my wrist. In the empty emergency, I only received painkillers after about an hour. The nose was only briefly examined and it was said that it was not broken. Even though the bone was 0.5 cm further up. After 3 hours the wrist was x-rayed. Radial fracture. Repeated requests for an X-ray of the nose were refused simply because no bruise was visible. I later went to an ENT doctor myself and he had to straighten my nose because it was broken and the septum was also distorted. I still have problems with pain today. For me, this emergency is absolutely the last thing. Inselspital and Permanence are a thousand times better.

It's NEVER nice to have a hospital stay. However, this can be made much more pleasant if you feel taken seriously and there is an empathetic, patient-friendly atmosphere. In my case this was 100% the case. Thank you to everyone involved.

Didn't take me seriously for any of my disorders. Turns out I have severe neurological disorders and should have gotten treatment that they denied because "it can't be", oh yes it can! The physio therapy department refused treatment with the reason of it "being uneconomical" to provide me with therapy that would reduce my suicidiality inducing extreme pain, even after I was begging them. I guess in Switzerland it's just not affordable and not a basic human right to be pain free, money's more important!

Was in the Lindenhof for a complicated operation - longer stay. Staff very friendly and competent. However, I noticed from the various bedmates that "my" surgeon came to visit me every day and surgeons from other patients were not reachable by the nursing staff and did not make rounds.

I gave birth to both children at the Lindenhof and am absolutely thrilled. Great care, be it from midwives, nurses or doctors. Anyone who wants to have their child in a pleasant atmosphere and perfect care is in the best hands here. Simply recommended.
