Lusi Brasserie & Lounge in Zermatt

I understand the temptation of walking by this place and wanting to stop in. Unfortunatley, I fell for the cute atmosphere and views of the Matterhorn. This place is how you say pure awful in every language. The host was extremely rude to a server when she was speaking to us at our table (he interrupted her to correct her in front of our table) and then commented to us how dumb she was. We got two cocktails and spent 2 hours there because they did not approach us for 30 min after we finished and when we asked to pay, took another 30 min before finally coming back to our table. Walk 30 steps past this place in either direction and find a better bar. You are welcome.

Nice setting, pleasant atmosphere, fast and attentive service. The food is very good but far from exceptional, a Gault et Millau 13 seems a little excessive... Very average white wine for a very expensive price. Very bad surprise at the end of the meal, the SCANDALOUS price of the carafe of water: 18 francs per liter of tap water!!!! (which we are offered upon arrival, before having received the menu with prices). A real scam!!! Very bad calculation on the part of this restaurant to end the meal (which was otherwise nice) with a very bad aftertaste, we will not return.

Regrettably, my experience at Brasserie Lusi in Grand Hotel Zermatt was disappointing. The service was subpar, and the staff's actions, such as prematurely removing my cocktail, bread roll plate, and Caesar salad, left much to be desired. A lack of attentiveness and communication diminished the overall enjoyment of the dining experience. The food experience at Brasserie Lusi was a mixed bag. While some dishes showcased culinary skill and flavor, the overall consistency left something to be desired. The menu offered a variety, but execution varied, and some dishes fell short of expectations. Additionally, improvements in service and communication could enhance the overall dining experience.

A nice place to have some drinks and snacks. The scenery around it is lovely.

We ate very well at the brasserie. The cooking of the beef fillet was perfect. Very fast service and extremely friendly waiter. The terrace is beautiful and pleasant. The only downsides: the prices are a little too high for what is on the plate and we are not sure of the name of the cheeses when we order a plate at the end of the meal.

Had coffee. Just a heads up… the latte was 11 CHF! They had spectacular seating with a wonderful view of the main thoroughfare. Great place to sit and people watch. I appreciated that they didn’t rush people to leave. Staff was amazingly friendly.

I had a club sandwich that wasn't worthy of a 5* hotel. The bacon was cold, the egg was boiled (instead of fried), the chicken was cold cuts rather than freshly fried and the toast was just lukewarm and therefore not crispy. Very unfortunate. This is much better. The Basil Smash was so perfect for that - I had to order another one straight away.

The service is excellent, well done and thank you to them. As for the kitchen, it's good but it's basic. It lacks finesse, and the training is mediocre. Village bistro has the same thing for less. The restaurant is clearly not up to the standards of the hotel it hosts.

Service could be better. Good atmosphere with live music, delicious cheeses, good serving of drinks with nuts and olives.

Nothing to add to the other comments. The food is OK, the setting is pretty but nothing more. The price of the bottle of water is shocking and it ruins the experience, that feeling of being "cheated" when leaving. I have visited starred restaurants in Switzerland with water at half the price compared to this brasserie. Aberrant.

We sat for a long time and the service staff regularly walked past us. Nobody paid any attention to us. Guests who arrived significantly later received a card straight away. We left at some point without ever being spoken to by service. Great location but never again

Final dinner. The food was good and the service very attentive. Quite pricey, but that is often the case in Zermatt.

Sadly this was one of the worst experiences for me, my family and friends. I do not like leaving bad reviews but I just had to say something because it was a BIG fail. We had a company of 10 people. My husband and I have been to many Michellen star restaurants in USA and Europe. Believe me I have seen top style, service and tasted delicious food which makes you go to food heaven! The food is definitely not worth the price, unfortunately to say so because we were expecting much better from the previous reviews. This restaurants food was a disappointment and the service was bad too. I mean my daughter didn’t get her food while all the other kids did and when she tried to tell the waiter, he said “wait a minute” and never came back to check:( She did not get her food in the end. I ordered a ALPENZANDER™ (Pikeperch) with purée of peas with chervil sauce & chervil oi and got a completely different dish I did not order. The FOIE GRAS TERRINE was just unexpectedly bad. I love foie gras in general but this was just really horrid and cost 48chf. If you would like to get good food and amazing service you may just go down the street to Grampi’s and will you not regret it!! This restaurant is overpriced and definitely not worth the food or service.

I don't have a lot of time to write reviews... But sometimes you just feel compelled. I have been blessed to dine in some fantastic restaurants. I'm 55 years old and have traveled extensively in the US, parts of Europe, and Japan. Until I dined in Brasserie Lusi, I have NEVER said "this is the finest meal I have ever had in my life!" The experience started with a terrible error on my part because, due to my US calendar time zone not adjusting for Switzerland time, we missed our reservation - I called them and they were more than accommodating and considerate of my error. They re-booked us for that very evening and my wife, son and I joined them for dinner. The initial welcome and the atmosphere of the restaurant were outstanding. The location of our table was fantastic, and we had a beautiful view of the classic Zermatt streets. We were greeted by Domenico Gargiulo and Plama Burzacki. (**I hope I'm getting the names right in this review - I was so impressed by the end of the meal that I took pictures of their respective name tags, but the pictures were blurred). I could not have felt more welcome and comfortable than if I had been in the home of close friends. We started the meal with a cocktail and later an apéritif. We then ordered a variety of appetizers - all recommended by our charming and attentive server (the Foie Gras-Terrine was incredible). Upon moving to our main course, I ordered the Veal, and it was exceptional – amazing flavor and cooked to the perfect temperature. I'd like to recall what my wife and son had, but suffice to say, I was focused on my own meal! Our server also suggested an alternate wine versus the bottle I had planned on ordering (a very reliably good bottle of wine that I'm familiar with) and his recommendation was spot-on! His knowledge of wine and spirits along with the menu were impressive and flawless. After dinner, we enjoyed desserts and a digestif to end the evening. All three of us quietly uttered, “wow” to ourselves and each other multiple times throughout the meal. In hindsight, I wish I had taken more notes on the menu we were guided through, as well as taken more pictures. In summary - I know I've been gushing about this experience, but I mean every word. We will return to Zermatt to ski again - and I WILL return to this restaurant! I only hope I have the pleasure of being met with the same Gentlemen who created such an incredible experience! An excellent service and dinner in this lovely restaurant. Service was very attentive, and everything we ordered was really delicious. The menu was good, and there were vegetarian options as well. It is on the pricier side, (but also its Switzerland) but it was worth it. The atmosphere was significantly calm and cozy with low light. They didn't have any background music, which was a bit weird, but also I noticed that in many other restaurants in Zermatt. It is a bit more formal than casual.

Great service from the Portuguese waiter (Miguel?). Food is good and the place looks nice and elegant but only three stars because we asked to replace the chips (which were part of the Thursday deal with mussels) with a salad and the kitchen refused to do it. I would have understood if we asked for something expensive or complicated to prepare but replacing some chips with a salad is done pretty much everywhere else. Also paying 18 francs for a bottle of water is shocking!

Terrible service, the waiters serve the tables on the side and it seems that you do not exist, the food has no relation to its price, I would NEVER GO BACK, nor would I recommend it…

An absolutely deplorable experience from a gastronomic point of view in any case. The setting is sumptuous. The welcome is up to par, professional and qualitative. The starters are pretty decent, even if the salad is a bit ordinary. Without any color and with sauce distributed sparingly in the bowl. Let's move on to the dish, to the "famous" dish. Beef tartare. Pitiful. Served on an immaculate white plate, without any form of decoration, seasoning, color, nothing is bland, both visually and in taste. The fries are not fresh, and the meat itself does not break bricks. Not cut with a knife, chopped... The veal steak, for its part, did not do too badly. We warn the staff who seem aware that the tartare leaves something to be desired and that many customers have complained. That’s good, the least we could have done was to warn us. We take the risk of ordering desserts, and that's the icing on the cake! An iced, industrial coffee, poured into a dome without any additional effort, either on the preparation or on the taste. And a mille-feuille whose description offers us a pear compote, served with canned pears, again NO effort on the presentation! It's flat, it's neutral, it doesn't make you dream! And we are in a 13/20 at G&M... Really!? We warned the head waiter, who very professionally assumed responsibility, recognized that it was more than mediocre in terms of training and prestige but that it was the Chef's line. Ordered by the Chief. This same Chef who is not on site because he is busy serving in his other restaurant which is 16/20. It's a shame, in an establishment of this size, to end up serving such mediocre dishes. Total bill: 220fr!!!

Bit pricey but you can't complain when u r in Zermatt and sitting at its one of the best locations. 😊 Drinks are good and environment is stylish.

Time for Tea: Live piano playing, beautiful lounge and bar. Hot chocolate was delicious and the tea was too. A large means to choose from. Service was a little slow. Great experience. Tea variety was large and served at the perfect temperature…delicious.

An open cafe restaurant in Zermatt. It's fun to relax outdoors on sunny days. I dared to pair a hot salmon sandwich with red wine. Both the sandwiches and wine are delicious. I feel like I want to stay like this forever.

Nice terrace but served long to get two glasses then get the bill.

Food okay, not impressive for the price. One can only be amazed at the service and the waiting time until lunch. Charm and warmth are also very important. It's better to just have a coffee/apero here (hopefully it comes quicker) to enjoy the beautiful place, and eat somewhere else.

Traditional tartare ordered and received for CHF 45.-. See picture - so carelessly arranged on the plate - I was just flabbergasted - the taste was great... sorry Lusi Brasserie - you can do better 🧐

Nice terrace especially on sunny say, it is in the heart of Zermatt’s town and facing Matterhorn! They offer nice cocktails and some nice food! We were also at night and had dinner inside and the interior of the restaurant is lovely and especially cozy! We were with out little daughter and the waiters were great, they came each now and then to play with her and made her laugh the whole night! Very attentive personnel and the food is excellent, would definitely come again.

What a hassle to go to the toilet…. Sweet Jesus, I would have been better served at the Lausanne Palace if I had come in ski clothes

We were told the terrace was closed while they were accepting other guests with a smile. Who knows if they didnt like our fashionable mountain gear or skin color. Would not go back!

Frozen hamburger This restaurant has the presemptuousness to serve frozen hamburgers in a 5 * hôtel. When you order a hamburger rare it comes like a boot sole. When you ask, they confess not possible because it has been frozen Disgusting ! Even Mc Donalds does better ! Go elsewhere thez are plenty of good restaurants in zermatt There is a management issue to serve this type of food and when you tell this to the maître d hôtel he is impolite and haughty What is the justification ? Serve frozen bref !!!!

Upscale ambience, but subterranean poor service. Unfortunately, during our 30 minute wait, we didn't find out what criteria this lady uses to serve the guests...

5 star for the outdoor terrace and drinks during the day and I highly recommend the Toblerone mousse if available. And this review can’t be complete without mentioning Berry Pfennings whose service was too good :)

The food is ok but not excellent. One evening (we stayed at the hotel for 10 days) we sent back a dish that we didn't like and were charged for it because there was "no error in its preparation". What a disgrace in such an establishment! NB: the hotel is perfect, I was just not completely satisfied with the restaurant.

We went to Lusi for dinner on two evenings. We were impressed by the interior of the brasserie, the fine food and the courteous and humorous employees. We recommend!

Bad surprise at the bill when we see that THE CARAFE OF WATER IS 10FRS, even though we had ordered drinks for 35frs for 2 people. In addition, the main course was not very good... Definitely not an address that I would recommend.

Even though the bar outside was already closed, we were served courteously. We got our drinks - WHERE else is there something like that! We say thank you and give 5 stars!

Disappointing at best! The visit to Zermatt was exceptional at all levels, with the Matterhorn looming in all its majesty over the town and the trip, with the only black mar of the weekend by a most disappointing last dinner at Brasserie Lusi. We thought we were saving the best for last but at the end, it was the worst. I think if only one or 2 faux pas were made, all could have been forgiven, but the string of negatives one after the other just could not undo the bitter taste the experience left, even if at the end they did take note of our disgruntled-ness for which they offered us free drinks: the mediocre reception (despite having made reservations 2 days beforehand and enjoyed a lovely apero at the outside bar at the time - which may have made our expectations too high), the challenge of getting the wine menu so we can actually make a drink order, the one hour wait for the food without anyone coming to let us know the status of our order, the favoring of the maitre d'hotel to speak at the only man at the table, the attitude of the servers when they were reminded that they made a mistake with the order and finally the mediocre if not poorly prepared cardboard tasting burger once the meal was actually served. Was any of it worth it? The trip- yes, the dinner - no! Next time we know better.

Had great dining experience here. Attention to detail and service from Ibrahim and his team is extremely nice! We had such a good time that we came back twice. My mother was sick and got a special soup since she couldn’t stomach real food. Wine and food was amazing. Perfect balance between fancy and comfort food. The chef also came out to talk to us, it was fun to see his passion for food. Would definitely recommend

One star because of the good location and environment I was really unhappy with this meal. The food is expensive but tasteless. The waiters were many novice young people. I took the plate around for a long time and couldn't find which table it belonged to. By the time it was placed in front of me, it was already cold. . . I waited for a long time before I got the knife and fork. Really disappointed for a five star brasserie.

Nice, upscale atmosphere on the terrace with excellent service. Great food - vegetarian menu available on request. The highlight was an extra popcorn service for me as a popcorn lover! :-)

Went to the Lusi's garden terrace for a nightcap last night. We felt very comfortable. The staff seemed extremely warm and competent, the drinks and our dessert were excellent.

The headwaiter over there is totally awesome! He knows everything about wine, zermatt and the mountains. The food is amazing too, but the service is absolutely over the top!

Here you can sit outside very nicely in the summer season. Centrally located in Zermatt and directly at the hotel. I can only recommend.
