Ly's Asia in Zürich

Unfortunately, today's dining experience was a huge disappointment for me and my husband. We were looking forward to a romantic Valentine's Day evening, but were met with an unexpectedly disappointing meal. As a starter we chose a soup that was not noted to be particularly spicy on the menu. To our regret, however, it turned out that it was significantly sharper than expected. We found that it overwhelmed our taste buds and was not conducive to enjoyment. The restaurant employees were very accommodating and took the soup back, but the start to the evening was already marred. When the main course, sweet and sour, was served, our expectations were again disappointed. Instead of a balance of meat and breading, we received an excessive amount of breading while the meat was almost negligible. For the hefty price of 33 francs, we expected a reasonable portion and quality, but instead it felt like we paid for an overwhelming amount of breading while the meat was barely noticeable. To our surprise, the rice was charged an additional 6 francs, which was incomprehensible to us as it is usually considered a side dish to the main course and is not billed separately. Overall, this Valentine's Day meal was a huge disappointment and didn't live up to our expectations. Next time we'll probably think about it and maybe just go to the Asian restaurant around the corner, where we'll hopefully find more enjoyment and satisfaction.

I eat regularly at Ly’s Asia (new FU Chinese Restaurant). The atmosphere is very nice and modern. You have the feeling of being in an international metropolis. The reception is very welcoming and warm. The map is very good and varied. The authentic Asian food tastes delicious. The prices are more in the upper segment. The personable and well-groomed host/owner Ly is very customer oriented. He leaves no customer wishes unfulfilled when it comes to special food requests. Can only warmly recommend this top restaurant. Always happy to come back.

I went to Ly's Asia again today. As soon as you enter you feel like you are in another world. Very noble materials with great attention to detail were used here. The staff gave me a warm welcome and we felt very comfortable. The food is authentically Asian and tends to be in the upper segment. The quality of the edibles is 1.A. The Peking duck is definitely a recommendation. The friendly host and owner Ly is happy to stop by for a chat and also accommodates special food requests and orders that are not on the menu. We will be back!!!!!

PRICE-PERFORMANCE FLOP We spontaneously stopped by this restaurant on my friend's birthday. The ambience that this restaurant offers gives you the impression that it must be a very posh and exclusive restaurant. Accordingly, two tables were occupied at this point (prime time: 7:45 p.m.). We were welcomed unkindly and seated at a free table. The waiter brought us the menu, unfortunately the service was poor. No trace of friendliness, we felt unwelcome. The beer was served to us with force... When we took our order, the waiter didn't want to advise us or make a recommendation. He didn't look us in the eyes. The food was good. If there are three full tables, it is assumed that the service would have enough time to inquire about the guests' well-being. The service here at LY'S didn't care that we had already been sitting with empty plates for over 25 minutes. The climax came when we paid. I had never experienced anything as unfriendly and impolite as that evening. There was no thank you and no farewell from Ly!! It really was a complete waste of money. I will definitely never come here again and would not recommend this to anyone.

We regularly order our food via uber eats. Unfortunately, they have absolutely no control over when they have capacity for deliveries and our order has simply been canceled several times. This time the order is no longer even visible. Just really bad customer service! A pity.

It's quite clean, smells good.. Most importantly, the food has excellent taste.

Paid 20 fr for take away fried rice and instead of cola light cola zero was delivered.. the rice tasted like soap, not fried at all..

Lovely food but portion sizes very small for the price paid. Starter arrived after 10 minutes however 45 minute wait for our main meal to arrive. Won’t be coming back unfortunately.

There is no motivated waiter, unfortunately a disappointment. Don't let the waiter spill your coke. Orders are sometimes forgotten. You can have bad days, but Ly's declined in quality and unfortunately we are ultimately forced to look for another place to eat regularly. The food was okay, but not outstanding as usual. It's a shame about the beautiful location.

This used to be a good place for Asian food. Last Friday we wanted to eat there, but obviously, there must have been some issue with the crew (the website announced that no Japanese food is served). Only one waiter was there, giving us a QR code for the menu (which was much smaller than the menu on the website). But after that, no further action, no drinks that we could order, nothing at all. After almost half an hour of no showing, we decided to go to another place.

Incredible atmosphere, takes the Chinese food to another level. Should be rated and awarded accordingly. My family needed some great comfort food and the four of us certainly ate what we wished for after a long journey! The boss was great and had exemplary service! See you next year!

Ordered sweet and sour chicken with fried rice (costs extra). After an hour, sweet chicken arrived without sour, but with polished rice. Scary!

A completely perfect evening! Attentive service, wonderful and unique food, excellent drinks (from prosecco to exquisite wine to non-alcoholic cocktails) and a humorous, charming boss. Thanks Ly, we'll be happy to come back. 👍🏼

When I decided to visit LY'S ASIA, I was hoping for a culinary journey through Asian cuisine. Unfortunately, I was disappointed from start to finish. First of all, the entire experience was pretty standard. The atmosphere in the restaurant was unspectacular and uninspired. It lacked any originality or a welcoming ambience that makes you feel like you are in another world. The food itself wasn't anything special either. The dishes were boring in terms of presentation and only mediocre in taste. There was nothing that stood out or made my taste buds dance. It felt like just going through a list of standard dishes without any real attention to detail or creative touch. The service was also disappointing. The staff was neither particularly attentive nor friendly. It felt like they were just doing their jobs without really caring about the guests' well-being. It took a long time to place our orders and the food was served reluctantly. All in all, I cannot recommend LY'S ASIA. It lacks charm, quality and that certain something that makes a restaurant an unforgettable experience. There are definitely better options in the city that are worth checking out. I won't come back here again.

The menu is in German. It's hard to recognize. The food is a bit salty.

Service, location and food were great. I’ve read many of the reviews here and can say they are definitely better than the average rating.

Reception polite and nice. Ordering quick and easy. Had to wait a little long, but it was worth it. Dim sum were small and delicious. My dish of duck with bao bread was delicious. Duck was tender and lightly fried. We'd love to come back.

We were the only guests in the restaurant and the service was very poor. She was rude, talked on the phone with headphones while serving us food and made us feel like she wanted to get rid of us 2 hours before the restaurant closed according to opening times. Shortly before 9 p.m. she stopped letting guests in and instead sent them away. There was no tea and she first had to ask the chef if they had duck in stock, even though it was offered on the menu. The portions were very small. Price-performance ratio is miserable. It's a shame for such a nice restaurant.

Waiting for more than an hour for the food, which was then brought after asking twice, without an apology or any other comment ("yes, yes, it's coming" was all). Unfortunately, the food was only average and the portion was very small for the price. The service is generally poor. If you don't wave them over clearly, they'll run like zombies from the kitchen to the tables and ignore everything. Definitely not worth a visit...

Had duck orange, never had such bad duck, almost just fat. I had already eaten the duck there before, back then it was very crispy and the portion was almost twice as big.

Food: some menus were ok to good; one menu was very oily and hardly edible; We only ordered noodles on one menu and they had a very strange taste. Very nice atmosphere. Solid atmosphere. Very clean including dishes! No stress when browsing the menu. First you eat the starter(s) in peace and quiet and then comes the main course. Perfectly cooked rice. Meat: good quality! Everything tastes very good! I only recommend it! Price: ok

Very unfriendly service! The gentleman couldn't tell you in advance that the X's on the menu weren't available?! You weren't asked if you wanted to see the dessert menu. I understand something different by customer-friendly work. Then you don't have to be surprised if the tip is wrong. The satay skewers were so dry, as if they had been exposed to the air for 5 days. Main course was ok.

I was there for dinner today (February 10). Since it was very spontaneous, I only made a reservation about an hour in advance (online), but it was still possible. When we came, they said: “That would be very short notice”. We were then assigned a seat and given the menu. This was mostly marked with an X, but they didn't explain to us what that meant. When we wanted to order we were promptly told that these dishes were not available?! When I read the other reviews, this seems to have been the case for a long time. Ly's has a beautiful decor and ambiance. We were there on a Friday evening in mid-January. It was uncomfortably cold on the ground and my feet were ice cold after 60 minutes. The food was average to good. Unfortunately many drinks and menus were sold out?!? But we only found out when we saw ticks next to the individual menus on the map and asked. The service (except for one person) was subpar. Moody, short with questions and extras such as ordering the starter first and the main course later were not possible. I wouldn't do it again though.

We found a very strange atmosphere when we were there for dinner last Friday evening. I didn't feel comfortable or welcome at all in the large, modernized factory hall with the extremely impersonal service. The food was delicious, the tempura shrimp was great, the rest was normal. Some things on the menu were not available, for example the widely advertised house iced teas. Maybe we'll order here to enjoy at home. But I won't visit the restaurant again.

Attention, there are no more sushis here!

I was allowed to eat Pad Thai yesterday and can write that it was very very very sweet and not edible as it should be. The friendly staff said that the whole thing was too sweet and not edible and asked them to just cook new noodles so that they could mix it in and then it wouldn't taste so sweet. Unfortunately we were not understood and were given a new Pad Thai, which was again very sweet ;-). The whole thing was take away...Next door is the nice restaurant with the same cuisine... Sorry, but unfortunately there is only one star for the food.

Cool location right next to Hardbrücke train station. I really liked the atmosphere. The food was also great, even though I've had better hoisin beef in Zurich. The food came quite quickly. After that we didn't see our waiter much anymore and it took some time before we were able to pay. I think the prices are fair.

Ordered our meal with a starter at 5.20 p.m. and didn't receive a main course until 7 p.m.... Apparently you had to prepare the other guests' starters... The food tastes good but the handling and waiting time are not customer friendly, sorry that was the last time

The food was ok, but nothing more. All Japanese food is simply not available, even though it is on the menu. But we were only told that when we ordered. The service was cold and unprofessional. There were four of us and we will not visit the restaurant again.

We went to Ly's today. An absolute disaster! We stood in the entrance for 15 minutes until we were finally escorted to the table. We were then given the card. 40 minutes later the service employee came and wanted to take the order (we didn't even have drinks yet). We wanted to order sushi, then we were told there was no sushi (they should have said that when we handed over the tickets). Afterwards the service employee came back and we pointed out that no one had told us that. The service representative responded so snippily that we decided to leave. The employee wasn't interested and encouraged us to leave. It's an absolute no-go!!!! The first and last time we were there!

The service was completely overwhelmed right from the start. The worst thing was when I saw the order at home. I ordered a chicken satay menu. However, the service gave dried-out skewers with sweet and sour sauce! Thank you for nothing. NEVER AGAIN!

Such a shame...Location would be so nice...the first disappointment - all Japanese dishes on the menu were not available. Second disappointment, the white wine Sancerre listed on the menu was also not available. Starter ok Then the big wait began. All tables (guests who arrived later than us) received their main course before us. The biggest shame, however, was the extremely arrogant reaction of the Chef de Service when we complained. We were basically thrown out of the restaurant after threatening to call the police. An absolute disgrace! I can only advise against it!

Always order the same thing. Now that's no longer possible because they've never offered it before. Very unfriendly staff. You can't talk to them. They're screaming at you! The surrounding Asian restaurants/takeaways are uncomplicated and, above all, you won't be shouted at. How difficult is it to cook white rice with chicken without all the stuff around it? It has always worked so far. Sorry, never again! Arrogant and unfriendly! Customer is “king” because of that!!!

Great value for money, but everything else is poor. Customers will be turned away during opening hours. Eating incorrectly both in quantity and in output. When you ask questions you are treated rudely and the employees do not handle the situation professionally. Restaurant not recommended.

Nika & Dave. It was our 1st time here. We enjoyed everything. The underwater movie beamed on the wide wall was fantastic and relaxing background. Dimmed lights, candles, Terrakotta Army, Chinese & Japanese decorations, flowers etc. My fried lobster was delicious & Dave's Malaysian Beef Filet as well. The atmosphere was calm & peacefull with some nice, pleasant background music. We would like to come again.

Price/performance absolutely fine. Food is fine, good selection. Unfortunately it is very loud at lunchtime but even better in the evening.

Unfortunately only two stars. Was there the second time The first time when it was new; Since then there has been a hail of bad criticism - reviews that I can fully understand. I can join in with the previous speakers when presenting the food or the service. To put it bluntly, I'd rather spend the money I have to spend on it at a run-of-the-mill Asian place around the corner. It is presented basically the same and tastes exactly the same. For example, hattenicj pork ribs, I can't understand ly's interpretation. BBQ ribs, which only taste like a sweet shop and come out of the frozen food thawed too quickly in terms of taste and consistency. Unfortunately, that's not possible! For that, just under 30chf without asking for an addition? You can not be serious! A small, overpriced bowl of fried noodles doesn't make up for it. God forbid I can only talk myself into rage after this lousy experience! I'll stop, it's no use.

Open according to Google and posted opening times - but then closed. Standing in front of a closed door; no information, nothing at all. Suddenly an employee appears - when I asked why it wasn't open, he made fun of me. Doesn't work at all...

The atmosphere in the restaurant is beautiful, well done! In my opinion the food is worse than that take away in nowhere. The taste was just oily... with the starter (ginger/soy sause) I had no taste of ginger. Vegetable tofu dish was really bland!!! Price performance is not right! Not at all! Toilets are full of mold... faxit: the main thing is that it looks good... it's a shame... service was easy to work with. Yes, I wouldn't come again, but that's my opinion.

The ambience was nice, but the service was inadequate and not very friendly. Some things on the menu couldn't be ordered at all and the satay skewers were very dry. However, the rest of the food was okay. Price performance rather inadequate.

I was eating the main course for about 3 minutes and was already finished. You don't get bread with your salad either. In Japan they don't eat bread with salad but I still think you can offer it if you wish. I was definitely there for the last time. The food was very tasty, I have to say, but the portions were way too small!

After taking a seat, nothing happened for a long time, no order was taken, when ordering food it suddenly said that over half of the menu was not available (the entire Lys menu, Japan menu including sushi, etc.), and there was also rosé wine after the first bottle no more, there was no homemade iced tea either, after the first honey tea it was over again, etc. etc. Neither when making the reservation nor when ordering drinks was the extremely reduced menu pointed out, the service seemed disinterested, you didn't feel welcome after that No one came by to clean up... it's a shame, it would be a nice location, but unfortunately a very bad experience...

I used to like the place for business lunches but after my last experience I will not go there again. It ultimately came down to the service staff why I was so disappointed (my Thai Curry was average and not even well presented). The waitress’s attitude gave the impression that she doesn’t really care nor that she enjoys her job. She wasn’t attentive nor friendly or welcoming, and it’s quite expensive too for what you get.

Price/performance absolutely ok. The food is fine, good selection, unfortunately very loud at lunchtime but even better in the evening.

Standard Asian Fastfood. Too salty for my liking but can be a good option for a quick Asian lunch option. More for the people working in the area. Nothing special to make a trip for.

Very nicely decorated. When we arrived, we were immediately told which dishes were no longer available. In my opinion it's a positive because certain things can work out in a restaurant with fresh ingredients. Still a good and large selection. Food was delicious and arrived without delays. Easily accessible as the train station, train and tram stop are nearby. There are also enough, albeit expensive, parking spaces nearby for cars.

Went on a Monday evening, made a reservation and spontaneously asked if we could sit outside because the weather was really nice. Apart from us there was only another group of three. It was immediately denied. Homemade iced tea was on the menu, but we couldn't order it because there was no one left - it was 6:30 p.m. The chicken satay skewer for the starter was dry and tough, as if it had been in the pan all day. The fried pasta with vegetables only had leek in it and the sweet and sour chicken was like a ready-made dish and not freshly cooked. And at proud prices. The empty water bottle was cleared away but no one asked if they wanted anything else. When we asked about the dessert menu, we were simply told that there was none and no effort was made to offer us anything else. Otherwise it didn't give the impression that you were welcome as a guest, one of the service staff was really bored and annoyed. The restaurant had a maximum of 5 tables occupied in the evening. A pity!

The food is generally delicious but the service ruins the whole experience. You wait an extremely long time for the food. Cold rice is served and there is no response at all when asked. You sit there with empty glasses and wait to be able to order more. The waitress just shakes her head if you have a question or want to reorder something (extremely disrespectful). You don't feel welcome/wanted as a guest. What a shame!
