I just had an aperitif. At the entrance a bit cluttered and not friendly. But inside, a little corner at the bar and a very nice sommelier. Fair price for the resort.

Despite reservations being handled using the Basil Fawlty school of hospitality - 'Non', should you refuse to take no for an answer and ski to the restaurant on a sunny day it is one of Verbier's best kept secrets. Lacking in decent wines, it's more of a fun place to relax than for a decent meal, and I suspect the sommelier also answers the phone. Food is basic - usual mixture of bread, cheese and potatoes - but delicious.

Perfect, beautiful restaurant with a great sun terrace, friendly service and delicious food. We had croûtes au fromage, rösti and other classics. You should know that Ail is called garlic, which was our bad luck 😳.

I had the pleasure of discovering the mountain restaurant Les Marmottes in Verbier. Nestled in the heart of the mountains, this establishment offers a warm and friendly atmosphere, perfect for relaxing after a day of skiing in winter or a hike in summer. The tomato fondue that I tasted was simply delicious. The melty, flavorful cheese paired perfectly with the subtle flavor of the tomato. Each bite was a real treat for the taste buds. In addition, the charcuterie board that accompanied the fondue was generous and varied, with a selection of quality meats and tasty condiments. The service at Les Marmottes restaurant was impeccable. The staff was attentive, friendly and always ready to meet our needs. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and authentic, with rustic decor that added to the charm of the place. The large windows offered stunning views of the snow-capped mountains, creating a magical atmosphere. Regarding the prices, I found them reasonable considering the quality of the dishes and the service offered. Additionally, the quantity of food served was generous, making it excellent value for money. In summary, the Les Marmottes mountain restaurant in Verbier is a true culinary gem. The tomato fondue and charcuterie board were delicious, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was warm. If you are looking for a memorable dining experience in a picturesque mountain setting, I highly recommend visiting Les Marmottes.

Excellent meal but slow service one person arrived well after us and was served before us. Surprise but excellent food I recommend.

The restaurant is located in a splendid setting, the environment is warm and welcoming, the staff are always super kind and thoughtful. This restaurant provides for a wonderful experience. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Clearly enjoying their jobs and the customers. Coming twice, I first had the burger and was blown away. Delicious 😋 The second time I took a local speciality Croûte au Fromage Marmotte - perfect for lunch before a hard afternoon skiing. It’s heavy with a mountain of melted cheese, and tasty to the last mouthful. Polished off with a delicious coffee to get you going. And all of this on a terrace with breathtaking views of the Swiss Alps. A memorable experience.

Very kind and efficient staff. Outdoor table in the sun is great if there is no wind and avoids cheese smells inside. In case of cold, beautiful interior room. The leek tart with salmon is delicious and all dishes are served with a small, appetizing mixed salad.

Magnificent place, splendid terrace, typical old chalet interior. Friendly staff however the prices are overrated!

During the pandemic it was very dissappointing to experience how one waiter was clearly having symptoms while serving at the restaurant. He kept coughing and using his hands to reposition his mask. We said politely to him that he should not be serving in this condition. All they did was giving us a new waiter while he kept serving others. We spoke to the management also, who claimed the waiter had taken a test. We all know these antigene test are not 100%. A waiter has so many “touch point” and should never be working while coughing away ever 30 secs. Especially not during Corona. This is clearly bad management putting everyone at the restaurant at risk.

Warm welcome after a climb on foot. Good cheese fondue. Friendly and smiling service. Dogs are welcome! To recommend without hesitation.

Our favorite break on the Verbier estate - Peaceful calm guaranteed

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, winter and summer alike. Food is great, service is good and you are usually rewarded for having walked up to this place (about 1h walk from Verbier place centrale, plus minus). Highly recommend booking or you’ll be disappointed. All traditional Swiss foods can be found here from fondue, croute au fromage or rösti. I had a croûte au fromage/jambon/oeuf which was great. Prices are not cheap as everywhere in Verbier (80 CHF for two).

Crème brûlée trilogy to die for

During our short stay in Verbier in August 2021 we had 2 dinners here, because the food was so amazing! My absolute favorite was the "croute au fromage - Marmotte style", followed by the 3 various crème brûlées, but the burgers are also great. I definitely recommend this place!

A trip to Verbier is not complete without a trip to The Marmotte. Great views, great food. Great to see the place busy again.

Nice weather and certainly lots of people out and about. Unfortunately, this is probably why SINGLE people are not assigned a table to eat. Although it has free ones. People hospitality is really different. I'm always amazed that restaurants can afford this.

Nous sommes toujours bien accueillis à La Marmotte, les plats y sont toujours excellents à des prix corrects et l’ambiance détendue et chaleureuse. Lors de notre dernier passage, nous y avons dégusté en entrée un simple potage... mais quel potage! Le meilleur depuis bien des années. Que du bonheur donc!

Somos clientes de la Marmotte desde hace muchos años. Las vistas son increíbles, la comida bastante normal. Hoy tuvimos una muy mala experiencia con muy mal servicio y malas actitudes.Vaya, Marmotte, no des por sentado a tu clientela. No hay razón para tratar mal a la gente y tener camareros groseros.

We booked a table for lunch as we had planned to go for a hike and heard that the restaurant was a perfect stop midway down the mountain. We were offered a table on the terrace; the views were breath-taking. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The menu is very typical of the region, which we love. When in Verbier I always love to eat Rösti and it was great that they offered a vegetarian option, which was delicious, one of the best I have tasted. Would love to visit this place in the winter too….
