Exceptional service. Truly the best we've had since we moved to Europe almost a year ago. Food and gelato were both absolutely delicious and reasonably priced for Switzerland.

I've been to Mia many times and every time it's just perfect! The service, atmosphere and dishes are fabulous. Whenever I'm in Spiez again, I go there.

We spent a wonderful evening as a family. The service was first class, with a good touch of humor. Thanks for that! Nut salad, osso bucco, Rolls Royce, Amore e Fuoco and vegi pizza. Tirami su and ice cream. Everything was on point. We will be back.

We always enjoy coming back to eat here. Top service, nice atmosphere and the food today was simply wow. Tender, fine meat, delicious sauces and side dishes and today the mussels. We have never had such good ones anywhere. We are looking forward to the next time.

We actually dined here 2 nights in a row while visiting Spiez. With 3 young kids we needed something other than our hotel had to offer. We arrived quite late the first night but the accommodated us and everyone enjoyed their food. All the pizzas were great but the carbonara pasta was the favourite. In fact we tried to order another but the kitchen was already closed for anything other than pizza, and so we decided to come back the next day for the carbonara and it didn’t disappoint . We came back a few weeks later and realised that by the time we would arrive in beatenberg , the restaurants would likely be closed for lunch service. I called the waiter that we got to know named Frank, and explained our predicament. He told me that they close at 1400 but If we arrive around even 1345 they would take care of us. We knew we could get to Spiez by that time so we said ok. When we arrived they made us 9 pizzas and served us drinks and when they realised we were all set, they told us they would close the place but we could stay on the terrace as long as we needed. This is the service and hospitality other places should strive for.

No food was lost. Although the clerk's attitude was quite friendly, the service was too rude and seemed to be in a hurry. Asked one of them if he could give me the wifi password, he said yes and walked away without telling me the password. We ordered two pastas, one vegetarian. I pointed to the plate in front of me and asked if it was vegetarian. The waiter said yes, but after taking two bites, I realized that the other plate was vegetarian.

For me the best restaurant in Spiez. Excellent cuisine, a small, friendly team and the best gelati (ice cream) there is, prepared with a lot of skill and love. It is always worth a visit. Bon appetit!

Best ice cream in the Spiez region! In terms of taste, it feels as if you were somewhere in Italy and got an ice cream in the gelateria. Simply great! The price is a little higher (4.- for a ball) but you can tell that the ingredients are fresh and the size is okay too! It's a shame that it's a little hidden and because it's on the main road, fewer walk-in customers come by. (I could imagine if you opened a gelateria on Seestrasse or near the bay, it would go quite well 😉) All in all great!

Mia pizaa is the best pizza which I've ever experienced in Switzerland.

We (English tourists) visited here on 18th May (it was a Bank holiday), we had no reservation but were lucky they could accommodate us. Our waiter apologised that there was no English menu but offered help when requested (Google translate is also excellent). Our main meal (pizza) was delicious, we then ordered ice cream - Our 2 children wanted vanilla, which wasn't on the menu - but a word with their chef and vanilla ice cream arrived. I cannot praise the restaurant and staff enough - and after being quite shocked with the price of food in Switzerland - we were pleasantly surprised when we got the bill 😊

Service was denied. We came with a hungry baby and they did not even bother taking us in. In your response they claim that there was a communication gap, but that’s not true the waiter spoke perfect English and understood us very well. All we asked for was “Margherita Pizza” and he just assumed whatever he wanted and said that they don’t serve “touristy pizzas” at their restaurant indicating tourists are not welcome. In fact, the guy said “there is no place in Spiez that will serve us ‘ tourist pizzas” - whatever that even means! I’ve been to Italy and had the best pizzas in the world that your pizzas could hardly compare to anyway. Very very rude staff, I think it’s time for you to change them as they represents very poorly for your restaurant. For anyone planning to go here, I request you for your own good to avoid it. There is a much, much better pizza & pasta place just a few steps ahead from Mia and the people there served us with a smile on their face the whole time. This place is definitely not worth it.

This is an Italian restaurant straight out of a picture book! It's been recommended to us x times, today was the day and we were able to eat here for the first time! That amazed us all!!!!! Rarely eaten so well, from the starter to the main course to the dessert, everything was a dream! Everything was super fresh, friendly staff............, price/performance extremely good! I don't quite understand the high rating, I haven't yet eaten the starter before the main course is put on the table. Prosecco not yet drunk. My dear man wants to pour more prosecco with the meat dish. This is an absolute no-go, especially by Italian standards! Food is certainly good, service is certainly friendly. But the way in which the service deals with the time frame of the food and the accompanying wines could really be improved extremely. Too bad 4.8 made expectations high. But it is certainly not worth this rating. Place a sommelier in this restaurant and give a course to the waiters. And you have a top restaurant.

We came on a Saturday evening and luckily we’re able to get a table outside. Service is friendly and the food was so good!! We had the frita mista and also the steak on the menu of suggestions. The gelato is great too! If I lived in Spiez I would go all the time :)

As written in some reviews, I don't understand why there are people who go to an Italian restaurant to eat hamburgers AND THEN GIVE IT 1 STAR. These are probably people who order pizzas from McDonalds. So stupid there aren't any. IT'S ALMOST LOGICAL THAT THEY AREN'T FOCUSED ON HAMBURGERS. - We can only recommend the restaurant. - Various Italian specialties and gelato (ice cream). - Friendly atmosphere, very friendly chef and waiter who also check with the customers to make sure the food is OK. I find it very important and a plus. - We had pizzas and was very pleasantly surprised. I haven't eaten such good pizza in a long time. The DOUGH is simply WORLD CLASS, the ingredients also tasted fresh, especially the seafood which in most cases tastes rather bland. I'm already looking forward to the next time, even though we don't live around the corner. We wish the Mia Osteria Pizzeria continued success and thank you again for the great food. It was like an ecstasy, with the beautiful weather you thought you were in Italy. Ciao a tutti alla prossima volta....... Ciao a todos hasta la próxima........

Very fine Italian food, it reminds me a bit of mom's cooking (although of course mom always cooks the best), authentic and cooked with attention. In addition, the gelati are truly the best. The party service/catering is also great and uncomplicated, as we experienced at our staff meal. Be sure to keep it up!

We went for lunch at Mia Osteria today. We ordered 2x burgers for the children. It was a disaster! First cold, then briefly in the microwave. Meat yuck! A bottle of water cost 9.50!!!

This is probably the worst restaurant I've ever eaten at. The pizza crust was burnt and there was no oil or pepper on the pizza. The burger I ordered was a complete disaster. The burger meat was cold and undercooked. When I alerted the waiter, he took the plate and put it in the microwave. The fact that you can't even fry a burger in a frying pan for 14 francs is simply a mystery to me. Conclusion, it couldn't be worse...

Super friendly service! Our pizza calzone wasn't warm enough and the cheese wasn't melted (which is why 1 star was deducted). The other pizza was perfect. Otherwise absolutely ok. Recommended.

As someone who worked in a gelateria myself: this guy has wonderful ice cream. The texture is perfect and the taste is pure and fresh. Home made!

Good food. Bad service. 5 star is very overrated, lower value for money. We tried the gnochetti, the ribeye steak and the pistachio ice cream. The food itself is good. For the stake we asked, medium rare but it was well done when it arrived at the table. We also ordered 3 appetizers, the bruschetta, the salad and the bufala. We asked for plates to share but we never got the plates. We had to ask for pepper and salt and oil. We were seated in the ice cream parlor instead of the restaurant, leading to an unfitting ambiance for a dinner. Waiting times for food were also far above average.
