Security asked us to leave because we refused to take off our caps. Also the first and hopefully last time something like this happens. I've never heard of such a rule.

The first woman was very unfriendly. There were 30 of us and we all ordered a beer. Karen was pissed why we still had beer bottles. Never resist. Better to spend 100 francs at Flanagans.

However, if he ever did come back, he'd be sitting at the bar counter in Paddy Reilly's Irish bar in Basel, sinking pints and discussing with Marcel. Paddy's is a vibrant pub/disco bar. The bar spans 3 levels with a nightclub downstairs, a large open bar on the ground level and lots of seating upstairs. Large TV screens show live sport including, soccer, rugby, American football and much more. One of the busiest places in Basel. Very nice Irish pub not far from Basel main station. If you’re up for a cold beer or a quick burger in a nice atmosphere, don’t miss this place.

Place to avoid at any cost. Security guys just took our jackets without notice without advices and with all phones inside. Just unbelievable ! Never again

Rude staff with bad attitude, I would not recommend

We went in to watch six nations rugby. The food was really tasty burgers, nachos, buffalo wings and the like. There were a lot of screens around the room. There was quite a bit of shouting by men at sportball which is not really my think but par for the course given the fact that it is a sports bar.

Naturally. It depends on what you expect. Here you can expect an English/Irish pub atmosphere. And that's exactly what you get. The service even spoke German to a reasonable extent, which we think is correct. Without it would still be wrong, even if the first response in English conveys the aforementioned flair. Cheers

wanted to go dancing. Group of two women and two men, all sober. We were told in a rather unfriendly, almost aggressive tone that we had to hand over the jackets etc. It ruined our mood and made us feel unsafe. left straight away. Expect a more respectful tone from security.

80% men, 15% women, remainder ?% The music left a lot to be desired that evening.

Nice place, staff were helpful unless you went to the bar (they were a bit slow) as table service seemed to be preferred by them. Drink were expensive and the Moretti wasn’t very good, the Guinness was nice however

Going to the pub for years. As women, my friends I feel fairly safe there on a Saturday night. There are always bouncers walking through or checking the crowd. Having said this, never leave your drink unattended!!

A cool pub in Basel. Even with a club on the weekend. As far as I know, the club is only for ages 23 and up. Otherwise on the expensive side, but worth it in my opinion

We got kicked out(four young pretty ladys) cause they told us to drink on the dance floor even we already drunk on the bar. This is absolutely ridiculous!

We went to Paddys on a Saturday evening and consumed alcohol (shots)… but we still got thrown out. Claim: We didn't consume anything!

Nothing about this place compared to entering an Irish pub where people are warm, friendly and enjoying themselves. When entering everyone was sitting around reserved tables and we were told to leave pretty quickly despite there being plenty of standing room. Even when a table of people left the same unfriendly woman told us to get out. I was shocked and would never go back.

Very welcoming and friendly staff. Great beer and tasty fish and chips. Great Irish pub atmosphere. A bit pricey but inline with local prices I think.

Perfect Irish Bar for parties, beer and food. Central at Heuwaage Basel. Very crowded during weekends, and specifically when it's getting cold outside.

Excellent veggie burger (they use beyond meat products for vegetarian burgers ) and my friend said his burger was great quality and super tasty. Friendly staff. Not really sure why but I just didn't get a great vibe from the place? Hence we only had 1 Guinness and food and left.

I had a great evening with my girls in the pub, great atmosphere. Great ambience and top service! The security does a good job, very competent. The varied musical program offers something for every taste! Always happy!!!!

Sales volume? None. The owner should take a closer look at his bouncers. There is a disco on Friday and Saturday. But the stupid bouncers turn away people whose nose they don't like with the excuse "only for regular customers" - and the shop was empty except for 10 people. It is an outrage and discrimination to be treated like this, even though I already see myself as a regular guest. The bouncers also treat their guests disrespectfully. For example, I noticed that the bouncer violently ripped the full glass out of a woman's hand because she wanted to leave and he wouldn't let her in. Here you will be treated disrespectfully by such idiots. That's where you lose the fun. In any case, my friends and I will celebrate in other locations. This means a total decline in sales of around CHF 700 per Friday or Saturday. Total 1400 CHF per weekend. It's your own fault if you do such stupid things.

Great atmosphere and a fantastic place to watch GAA games. I have come here to watch several GAA games including the 2023 All-Ireland football final. You can hear full sound once the match starts. This place has really lovely staff who couldn’t do enough for you, special mention for Rory who is so knowledgeable about his whiskies. Also need to mention two other ladies both called Niamh, who are really lovely and excellent at their jobs, of course not forgetting that the food & drinks were superb!

I have been here many times to have a beer or two and listen to some music. Last evening, for the first time, a bodyguard did not let me in. "Only for regular clients" he said. I did not argue with him, I just left. He seemed to be in a rough shape. Would be nice to have some clear rules who can get inside and when so that people will not waste time coming. Currently it looks like bodyguards decide based on what they have smoked that evening. I will avoid for a while.

I wasn't served tonight by a certain bartender named Sarah Davis. She looked at me and told me to go away. Reason? Because I wanted to order and she already served 4 customers who came after me. Just out of a whim because my appearance didn't suit her. Such a disgrace! Maybe have a conversation with her that's so disrespectful.

I always enjoy a nice Irish pub for a cold beer on a hot day. They never fail to please. The staff are always smiling and friendly!

Nice atmosphere and delicious food. Unfortunately the Beyond Burger wasn't available but with the support of the employee we quickly found something else. Particularly noteworthy are the onion rings with the mayo-garlic sauce. Really great! The Reillys beers also taste very good. We liked it, we'd love to come back!

They know their stuff. I was at some other pubs and they only pretend to have culture or be even English and when I ask for example an Irish bomb, they don't know the steps. Absolute shameful so I am happy I can trust Paddy's.

The best place to enjoy the night in Basel. Especially if you are a single man. I've been to Soho and Balz clubs and been banned from entering because I wasn't accompanied by a woman. That is, the ticket was a woman!!! How much sexism! On the other hand, in the Paddy Reillys pub I didn't have to pay to enter, the security team and the bartenders were very good and kind. And the DJ and beer are top!!! I strongly recommend!!!

I like being here, there is traditionally a sports channel on well-spaced, eye-catching screens in case you don't want to listen to the conversation anymore. The usual otherwise. Guinness, Kilkenny, Feldschlösschen on tap and Irish is spoken throughout. From 10 p.m. onwards the table is taken away from you so that you can dance to mainstream music. Like I said, maybe we'll see each other sometime.

The Basel branch is one disappointment unlike the Zurich branch which is nice. The security deputy is an absolute unfriendly dude the tables are removed for "dancing" and the music is so loud can't hear one another. The place in Zurich is a pub the place in Basel is a disaster

Very nice establishment for an Irish pub type atmosphere. It's the ideal place to watch a Premier League football match. Guaranteed atmosphere. The setting is typical and the staff are top notch.

Best for watching sports in tv with friends while sipping a Guinness.
