I have never seen a restaurant and service worker who has to justify so much, both about the prices and about what you get. I thought Gül Restaurant was the most expensive in terms of mezze, but at least you can say that what I got at Gül did have a wow effect. In terms of taste, I still found it good for Zurich. But it's true, people don't really know mezze here! Let's just stay cool :)

Friendly helpful staff, good food

Came with a group and left not just hungry but also very uncomfortable and frustrated with the service. At some point during the meal I was so angry that I lost my appetite, which never happens. - pushed to order the sharing menu due to our group size (fine) - more dishes came than what would normally come*, instead of bigger portions (not fine - we could taste but not actually share and eat. I appreciate being able to try more things but not to leave hungry, plus “many” of the first plates were just spreads for bread - if this was half of the normal menu I would feel scammed to have paid so much for this) - made it known to the waitress that it was not enough (she was defensive and only pushed their “concept” instead of actually trying to make the experience better) - we ordered a few more plates after our complaint (she happily took our orders but charged us extra for it later, even pita bread, even though it was clear we expected to be able to ask for more portions since the plates were too small to share) *It could be true that the food might be enough for another group with a much smaller appetite, but as a concept it does not work well to spread out the menu so thinly that one could only take 3 spoons of a dish, max. I’m not sure the increase in number of dishes compensates proportionately for the increase in portion size needed to feed the larger group size. Overall a memorably terrible experience that we still talk about (!) I wish the manager would accept the feedback constructively instead of making excuses. Looking forward to hearing how you plan to resolve this moving forward.

Very cozy restaurant, very friendly service. Food was fine, all different original snacks (meze). I used a bit too much spinach, which is a shame if you don't like it that much.

Great food, uncomplicated atmosphere, pure enjoyment!

If you have the mezze, the bigger your group the more dishes you will get but the portions stays the same. This doesn't work as a "sharing concept" if some portions are barely enough for 2 people. All the answers to reviews say you can just ask for more food. What they don't say is they'll charge you for it. Shame cause food is actually good.

Unfriendly staff (felt unwelcome) not enough food to share between a large group, too expensive to leave the place hungry. One-bite dishes to share did not make sense. Good wine selection.

Wonderful restaurant with amazing service and incredible food

Great service and the food is simply a dream! I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Around 50 chf / person for 8 Greek tapas. They were delicious, and the service was good. I got a bit confused that the pita bread has to be ordered separately: 3 / 8 tapas clearly are not meant to be eaten standalone (like the tzatziki), why not putting the pita bread as part of the menu directly? It would make sense and reduce the feeling of getting juiced for your money. Also, one tapas was simply raw olives. They were good, but it feels a bit like a round-up to reach 8 tapas. I wouldn't like an Italian restaurant to serve me raw tomatoes as a course, even if they're particularly good on their own, and a symbol of Italy. Consider 1 hour for the 8 tapas, without desert (although you may still have space for one)

I always enjoy coming to this restaurant, I love the food and it has a large selection for everyone. I also find the atmosphere homely and the service top. PS: Vegans will also get their fill here. Thank you!

It's a place that is completely trying to rip off tourists. Definitely stay away.

They sold the menu, which cost 71 francs, by multiplying it by 4. We saw that you did the same thing to your previous customers when we looked at your comments. I do not recommend it to anyone, there was definitely no taste for that price, we were ripped off, when we expressed our surprise about it The attitude was very rude. Also, if mezze meant sharing, we were going to share it too, then we were going to order the main course. You brought me appetizers, seeing as we didn't eat it at the table.

The place that made me leave Zurich disappointed on the last day of my holiday abroad. The food was mediocre, at least not to the taste of me and my friends. I've been to Greece at least 10 times, and I always love the food. That's why we ordered the mixed appetizer plate. We tried to eat them to taste them, but I cannot say that they were delicious. We paid more than 350 francs for 4 people and woke up hungry. We drank a bottle of processco for about 50 francs. We had to pay 300 francs for the appetizers we didn't eat and left hungry. Of course, we were surprised by the price, because we were planning to buy an appetizer first and then order the main course. But four of the biggest appetizers were brought, of course, it was too late before we realized what happened. It was obvious that we were tourists, but I do not find the behavior well-intentioned at all. Why would we order four from the largest appetizer plate, it's so unreasonable. They made no effort to rectify the situation. When we asked how much the bill was, they quickly became rude. We had not thought of doing anything like not paying, but they could have been more polite and at least made a gesture other than free Zurich water (as they frequently stated when responding to previous complaints) and collected the situation in a more naive way. When I read the comments, I realized that they had exhibited similar behavior before. I don't recommend you go. You can be sure that you can eat much better things for half the price.

Great service and outstanding food! Best Greek restaurant in the city of Zurich!

I have celebrated my birthday several times with many people at Parea. I was always very excited and my friends also really enjoyed the food. The menu is extensive and there is enough on offer for every diet. I particularly like the different mezzes to share, so you can try a bit of everything. The service is also extremely courteous, fast and friendly. Conclusion: delicious food in an environment that makes you feel very comfortable. I can only recommend the Parea!

Excellent Greek restaurant serving modern Mediterranean Greek cuisine. The food is excellent, everything we were served was a delight! Greek mezes that were perfect. The food is amazing. I strongly recommend the octopus, the mint sauce is breathraking, also, I do love mint. Also the ceviche and the raw meat with soya sauce were deliciuous. We will come back for sure.

Food and drinks were good, but the pricing is completely off and needs to be reviewed. Shared the mixed mezze among 6 people. Dishes offered enough to have a bite, but not really to enjoy. They served one dish with half an octopus tentacle to split 6 ways...

Food was phenomenal, each dish was extremely well crafted and so tasty. Service was a bit awkward in the beginning - we had to trade tables because one of our ladies in the group brought her baby in a stroller. So they didn't bring us new water carafes for over an hour after asking several times and responding with an attitude about it. Maybe the waiter was frustrated that we didn't inform about the stroller - something we simply didn't think to do. Eventually, service improved and all was fine in the end. Don't hesitate to order the fried feta cheese! All reviewers are spot on - this is the best thing, melts in your mouth! Octopus is also perfectly cooked. Not sure I care for the ceviche much, I've had better (and it doesn't seem Greek?). We ordered shareable dishes and hand-picked them so we could choose our own combo of veg vs meat dishes. Worked great!

If you want Greek food in Zurich, you definitely have to go to Parea. Very, very fine food, attentive and competent service. Pleasant atmosphere 😃

+ Very fine, fresh, and beautifully prepared food. + Cozy restaurant inside and out. + Refreshment options in the toilets. + Pleasant people. - 2 points deducted for the rather small quantities and the constant paternalism from the service: -- Ordered dishes were criticized in terms of quantity and "appropriately" cut down/reduced. (We then simply had to order several times) -- Criticism had to be heard regarding the number of red wine bottles ordered. -- The service, which was initially friendly, quickly became annoyed once we reached our table, which was clearly the busiest. -- As guests, we probably didn't fit the desired archetype. Gladly again for a quick lunch, but no longer for cozy evenings and long meals with friends or business.

By chance and through a newspaper article, we found this cute little restaurant in Zurich. The atmosphere and the staff are simply great, you immediately feel welcome and very comfortable! The food is also great, typically Greek without much fuss, to share or not - there is something for everyone!

We paid 100 for so-called seafood meals for 2 people. A mini lavraki, 5 small shrimps, 2 pieces of octapus, 2 bowls of spinach. Completely overpaid!

We visited as a couple (one Greek) and had a great experience. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and we liked the atmosphere. Above all, the food was excellent - the best chicken kontosouvli we've had!

Amazing Greek food. Quality ingredients. The best feta saganaki I have had. Every dish was delicious. The choriatiki salata was fresh and full of flavour. They also have an excellent selection of wine and beers. We had the plomari ouzo, which is one of the best from Greece. We couldn't reserve a table online but called the restaurant and luckily we were able to book.

Great spot with a lively, knowledgeable team. Loved the feta bell pepper dip and olives - they were out of gluten-free bread but it was nice they thought of it (and I appreciate the reduction of food waste, since it was their last day open of the week). The melon feta salad, Muhammara, and ceviche are all winners. The whole grilled sea bass was fresh and herby, and came with tasty sides. The wine was okay, not outstanding. For dessert, try the Yaoourti - it's whipped Greek yogurt with honey and nuts, just perfect. Fair prices for Zurich. Overall, tasty food, friendly service, definitely worth a visit.

We made a reservation through Google Maps for a dinner the same day. The outdoor seating was shaded, and the waiter was energetic, friendly, and spoke English well. We shared the vegetarian and mixed (vegetarian, meat, fish) mezze platters, as well as a few extra dishes. It wasn’t the cheapest meal, but everything we ate was great, especially the pita.

Must orders: fried feta and the ceviche Amazing Greek food! Prices are moderate, but you get the quality that comes with it relative to other Greek restaurants in Zurich. With 7 mezze, pita bread, two drinks, plus tip … we spent around 175 CHF They have outdoor seating, great summer spot.

I recently visited Parea with my husband and had an incredible dining experience. Panos, the owner, prepared each dish to perfection, and we enjoyed trying every item on the menu. The food was fresh, flavorful, and varied, and we made sure to pair our meal with plenty of excellent wine. What really impressed me was the quality of the ingredients used in each dish. You could taste the care and attention that Panos puts into sourcing the freshest ingredients and preparing them expertly. We didn't have any complaints about the food - everything was delicious! Overall, if you're looking for a fantastic Greek restaurant in Zürich, I highly recommend Parea. The service was great, and the food and wine were exceptional. I can't wait to come back on my next visit to Zürich!

Top food and good atmosphere!!!

We were a big group and had a mezze (not sure they call it that way) to share. I usually love eastern Mediterranean food but I found this one just okay. The bread was good, the tzatziki too, but the more elaborate things were just okay. The portions were not well calibrated to the number of people, so not everybody could try everything. The service was fine and pleasant.

Didn't expect that. Traditional Greek dishes amped up, sensational. Lamb skewers were divine, so was the spanakopita and pulpo. Super nice staff. Thank you for a great experience.

Very good menu, you want to try everything straight away. Due to the size of the rooms, it is actually always full. But that's also the comfortable part. Very friendly service - you'll be happy to come back!

We ended up here by chance and enjoyed a very good meal. The service was super friendly and explained the menu to you. We put together 5 dishes for 2 people ourselves and with one additional order of bread, this was more than enough. Favorite was the recommended octopus and meatballs in tomato sauce. The hummus is different, but also very good. There is an authentic Greece feeling, although the food here is of course more refined than in a normal Greek tavern. We thought the price was reasonable and we had a great evening.

The table reservation was easy and uncomplicated on the website. Guests are warmly welcomed and generally pleased by the friendly and attentive nature of the team. The food was delicious and lived up to expectations for a Greek restaurant. Highly Recommended! The restaurant was busy on Valentine's Day, which is why the volume increased over the course of the evening and privacy was somewhat limited due to the proximity of the people sitting next to you. This could at best be optimized.

Very good food and some nice varieties on the menu. We chose our own plates and we hadn’t been disappointed with a single dish. Service was really good and even though they said they are closing soon for holodays they had still every item on the list but after us some people weren’t able to order everything we overheard which is a good sign that the restaurant keeps the stuff fresh. The best dish was the fried Feta.

Parea was high on my list, and it didn’t let me down. This Greek restaurant uses fresh and high quality ingredients. The meat and fish we had were both tender and juicy, and I can’t recall another place in Zurich where I had such a tender, almost buttery meat (in consistency) for a good price. We loved the tastiness of simplicity. The wine was good, the interior of the restaurant was very simple and humble but rightly so, as food was the absolute main star of the night. If I really had to make two tiny observations, these would be perhaps to give the yoghurt mousse a twist (it was hard for me to tell it apart from normal yoghurt) and perhaps prepare 4 mini meat skewer other than 2 regular ones, if it’s 4 people ordering (just for the sake of practicality :)). Still, I love this concept of food sharing. I even liked the Tatziki despite not liking pickles. We had a great night and hands down we will come back to try other dishes. We also sympathised with the staff who were very friendly and calm despite the place being fully booked.

This restaurant tastes like Greek food. The service is very friendly and helpful. The food was refreshing and very tasty. I would say Greek modern :-). Anyone who likes to have their food on many plates is in good hands here. In summer or When the temperatures are warm it is wonderful to eat in the small and elegant garden seating area.

Excellent Greek restaurant that doesn't offer the typical gyros/fries but authentic Greek cuisine. All meat/fish dishes were tender and the vegetarian dishes were perfectly seasoned. Very friendly service.

Absolute stunner of a restaurant! We had the 8 course vegetarian menu and thoroughly enjoyed each one! Their fried feta with home-made tomato marmalade was outstanding! Great variety, portion-sizes and well worth the price. The service was also extremely pleasant. 10/10 would go again and highly recommend!

What a gem! The staff are super friendly and helpful. Melanie was terrific. The food was absolutely delicious - the flavors were versatile yet harmonious. My one complaint was that our second order of meatballs were a bit undercooked in the middle so if you like them well done, say so, so they don’t rush them out of the kitchen too fast. But we truly had an exceptional dining experience there and we will definitely be going back again. We can highly recommend this place! 5 stars.

An incredibly great restaurant in the middle of Zurich. The service was very friendly, quick and careful. The food was prepared with a lot of love, we had lots of different starters and everything was delicious. For me the best Greek restaurant in the city so far!

My favorite Greek! There is something delicious to eat for everyone and the Nüssli beer, for example, is very tasty. Super familiar - excellent hosts!

The meze made a good impression, we'll have more of that next time. A little more garlic would be good for the tzatziki. Unfortunately, the main courses weren't quite as good, the eggplant steaks with couscous are not recommended, the only taste there was was from the red sauce. Baked potatoes were very oily, tasted ok. The fish, on the other hand, was very good and the service was also super nice.

Portions are tiny, pita bread is not included with the cold mezze, make sure to order extra or get nothing. For 100 CHF you get great quality and sizes and actual authentic greek food at many other places in Zurich. Can’t recommend, feels like a hipster scam.
