Pittaria in Bern

I would like to share my experience with your service. Unfortunately, I was not completely satisfied with the level of customer service I experienced. There were moments when I felt that my concerns were not adequately addressed. I think it could be helpful if the team did more training on how to deal with customers to ensure that all customer inquiries are handled in a professional and friendly manner. Apart from that, I think it's absurd that the cash register closes at 10 p.m. and you can't buy a drink. Purchase was made with cash only. PS: It would be appropriate to serve the pitta on a plate. Was the last visit.

A great falafel place. All of their plates are gluten free except for one option. The plates come with a lot of food and are very filling. I got a falafel plate and it was delicious. Tons of salad greens and chutneys. Very flavorful and crunchy falafel.

The pita bread is sharp, and I hurt my lips and inside my mouth. So be careful if you have a small mouth. The taste was okay, but 18.5 CHF is overpriced.

Awesome, delicious, yummy, tasty, amazing, friendly, speedy, value for money, generous, clean, centrally located... this list goes on and on. I am really happy I found this place. The staff is friendly and takes time for its customers. The location offers a book corner to expand your intellect while eating or just enjoying a drink. I definitely recommend this place and will pass by soon again.

Pleasant, relaxed and informal atmosphere. Young and family service. Very good and unpretentious food. I recommend the chicken pitta and the baklavas.

Great food, very crowded at lunchtime (logical, because of the university), the atmosphere is cafeteria-like; Rather uncomfortable, but the quality of the food makes up for it.

I would describe it as a more alternative restaurant, which I like. The pittas are really delicious, inexpensive and filling. The Pittaria is always very well attended, which speaks for itself.

We visited the location in bern and were disappointed by the service. The waiter was arrogant, showing no flexibility. Despite being a party of three, we were not allowed to sit together, nor could we join two small tables. This lack of accommodation reflects poorly on their business mindset.

The Pittaria in Solothurn & Bern The falafel in Taschenbrot are the best in the country and have been captivating my senses for ages. I've known the Pitteria in Solothurn and then also in Bern since the beginning. Samuel Daher, the founding father of Pitteria, as a queer newcomer, inspired this place with his cosmopolitanism and love. The Pitteria builds a bridge between Nazareth and Solothurn/Bern, Palestine-Israel and Switzerland - a place of conciliatory encounter between cultures. I have known both Pittaria restaurants well for years - in Solothurn and in Bern. My concern is and always has been to get to know other cultures; to talk to people from other countries - to open doors and windows. This is how I experience the three levels that are so important to me: 'Head - Heart - Hand'. Yes! also with food in the Pittaria, enjoyable and genuine. Hopefully we'll see each other again soon and toast with tea!

I was there with two colleagues and a colleague. I liked it very much. The food was very good and the service was very good. One of the waiters had just finished work and then chatted with us for some time. Can highly recommend the restaurant.

I have been a Pittaria customer for 20 years. First in Solothurn, then in Bern, but unfortunately not so often anymore because I live at the other end of Switzerland. When I'm there, the Pittaria is always a highlight. The food is terrific and the atmosphere feels like coming home - or actually even better ;-). Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the soul food you have!

I'm not the only one who has been coming here all my life and just loves it here. In addition to very tasty oriental dishes from Hommus to Shish Taouk to vegetarian dishes and desserts, a very warm owner, a great atmosphere with an oriental flair in a perfect location in Bern. Soul food at its best. In my opinion, this restaurant is a unique asset to Switzerland.

Since the owner has proudly expressed his support for Hamas, I assume that as an anti-fascist I am not a welcome guest there. Well, the food was good, the waiting times were terrible and the price kept rising. I do not come anymore.

It's a nice eatery. If you need something fast but healthier than other fast foods, it's a great place to go. Not fancy, but clean and with a good atmosphere. Near the railway station. I'm definitely coming again!

Very casual place with simply delicious food. It was busy when we arrived and the waitress did her best to find us a place. Several good vegetarian options on the menu as well as fish and meat. We ordered 4 different mains and all of them tasted great. Worth coming back.

Amazing and authentic middle-easter food; probably the best in town. Quite a casual place with large portions and quite good value for money ratio. One of my go-to places in Bern.

The food is bland, only a hint of oriental. Everything is fried. What a shame, it used to be really nice. But that was before. I told the staff, but she said that's just the way it is. 🤯

although it is arguable that falafel are better in Mannans, the menu is a bit more cured and a bit more filled. The food is very nice

One of the best places I've been to in Switzerland

First things first: delicious food! The falafel plate is okay from a price-performance perspective at 20 CHF. Inside, the tables are relatively close together and when it's full, there's naturally a cafeteria atmosphere and the volume level is quite high (here, fabric panels on the ceiling or other sound-damping elements in the room would help). Unlike usual, the ordering process is always primarily at the counter, where you also say whether “to go” or to “eat here”. When you are in the restaurant, you look for a table when ordering and give it the number. The food is then served there.

Very good, generous portions. Possibility of requesting a small portion which will satisfy small appetites. A little noisy, cafeteria style but nice oriental atmosphere.

I need to re-edit my recession. The prices have increased from 17.- to 20.- (17% price increases) while the portions have become smaller...

I was stunned by 1/2 liter plastic-bottled water costed 4.50 CHF in such resto. But the food was very good. In particular the bread was excellent.

The food was very good and the price was right. We reserved a table for six people on Saturday evening. It was very busy, but even when it is busy the staff can be a bit friendly.

The food tastes fantastic, even though after all these years I would be happy to see some variety in the food... However, a dark-haired guy has been working there for a few months now who acts like a boss, is totally unfriendly and has a bad mood spread, which means that I no longer eat there when I see that he is on duty.

I love eating pitta here on my lunch break! Delicious hummus, fruity chutney, everything fresh and great!

Wanted to reserve a table. I was told that there were still free tables, but reservations were not possible. I should just come by and see if there are still places available!!! I'm certainly not passing by, not today and not in the future either.

Way too much hummus on the pitta that you can hardly eat it. 21.- for a pitta and a drink is also too much.

Hummus and falafel are simply delicious! Even the small plate is still a really big portion.

Food top - service (you) flop - price rather steep

At first you were told to wait 20 minutes and that there would only be falafel and hummus, which sounded good. After waiting 20 minutes there was nothing. Nothing happened except expenses😤🙄

Unfriendly service, far too expensive (I paid 5 CHF for a Rivella?!). The food was reasonably tasty, but it had too little meat and way too much hummus.

The food was really great, very good value for money, cozy outdoor area, reservation also went very quickly via email. 1 star deduction unfortunately because of the staff, I was at the counter twice and found the employees very cold and distant and you didn't really feel welcome

Very good food! The pita bread is always a pleasure. If requested, additional bread will be served free of charge for the plate version, great! There are many good alternatives for vegetarians and vegans. The price is very fair for what is offered.

Visited after a day of hiking in the Bernese Oberland, and the place didn't disappoint! The food was delicious and the portion sizes were generous: warm and soft freshly made Pita bread and the house-made hummus was truly the highlight. Highly recommended for vegetarians and vegans!

All I can say is pure enjoyment. The food was very good. Be it pita or a dish on the plate, it is simply a pleasure. I hope the hummus was homemade and if not, I have to know where I can buy it. 🤤🤤🤤. But you shouldn't forget that it's a snack bar and not a restaurant. Unfortunately, it's very rustic and when the shop is full, the noise is extremely loud. The staff is courteous and customer friendly.
