Service, pizzas and desserts are excellent!

The atmosphere is very good, the woman with the blonde hair who served us on Sun.03.03. 24 is very unfriendly and has an abusive tone. And a very aggressive way, like I was eating for free. I'm coming to enjoy Sunday, to have something to eat and drink and not have anyone yell at me.

We came here for lunch with four children and three adults without making an appointment. A table was set up for us very quickly, the children were given coloring books and free syrup. The lunch menu was very good and the children were also happy. Good service, good food, gladly again.

We were a group of five. We were welcomed at the entry and the pizza was really great. The manager was friendly. BUT… to get the pizza it took a while. The waitress didn’t seem to be in the mood to serve the customers. Not a single smile, very dry treatment and slow service. I believe we were completely ignored for 15’ or more and it was not even during peak hours . It is a pity, because the food was good and location great.

Deserved 5 stars! (New owner) The Platzmühle restaurant was recommended to us by friendly passers-by. After arriving we were welcomed very charmingly. After a funny small talk, we also knew that there had recently been a change of ownership. My first compliment came straight after the aperitif. We really liked the manner and service of the new owner, very warm and very welcome. A tartare in a class of its own. The crispy baked perch fillets are very tasty. Every wine is offered for tasting. A top culinary experience. Gladly again, greetings from Lucerne :)

Terrible service, never seen such rudeness. Prices in the norm, medium-low quality. Typical tourist trap. To be avoided absolutely.

I had never experienced such unfriendly service in my entire life. And on top of that, gossip about the guests who pay your wages. This waitress should look for a job that has nothing to do with people. I would recommend not studying anything, just doing production.

Daily menu good not copious Rude staff

I accidentally spilled my espresso, asked the waitress to bring me another espresso, it never came! She then came and said we can take another table! When we wanted to pay, I didn't leave a tip and just told her briefly that I was waiting for another espresso because I accidentally spilled mine, she just rolled her eyes and didn't answer! A little humanity is expected in this job!

Catastrophe!! The service staff was racist, unfriendly, arrogant and disrespectful. It's a shame for such a beautiful place. Comments during confrontations such as “who wants to work on a Sunday” or “after 30 tables you can no longer be friendly” are extremely rude and unprofessional!

Do not go here if you don’t want to be discriminated like a foreigner. We came on September 22nd around 2pm, looking and waiting patiently in their outdoor seating area, no host came—and that’s fine, we get that businesses can get very busy during rush hours. Then finally we saw one server, older and little hair, we politely approached him and said “Gruezi”, “Hi”— the server looked at me and no response… I continued asking “is there a table for two?” He didn’t even look this time and just continued whatever he’s doing then walked away. When we reported this to the person who seems to be the manager, he offered no apology but simply “he’s new here.” Then I thought maybe he doesn’t understand English. So we sat down, and literally, I saw this server ordered with a whole table in English. What kind of rude behavior is this and is allowed and protected in this Swiss-German place servicing Italian food???

Disappointing. Makes an inviting impression from the outside. Unfortunately, the dishes we ordered were not as described and were incomplete. Unfortunately, the blonde lady who served us also appeared strange. Arrogant, unfriendly and inflexible. For the sake of completeness, it should be mentioned that the lady's excuse was that the restaurant was full. Unfortunately not all tables were occupied. In my opinion, guests at the next table were also treated very condescendingly. Please place more emphasis on FRIENDLINESS again, then mistakes (whether from the kitchen or service) will not be taken so seriously.

Very nice terrace with a lake view. Unfortunately we weren't served very friendly... Coaster was thrown on the table. Technically speaking, no flexibility was demonstrated. They didn't have vermicelle, which was presented on the menu. Extra requests: e.g. without cream for coupes were not accepted. Chocolate sauce that was served with the banana split seemed quite runny/watery to me. No beautiful mint leaves were used as a garnish (brown discoloration with holes). Some ingredients were forgotten when ordering (Hippen). After paying, they turned their backs on us without saying thank you. It's a shame for such a nice restaurant right on the lake..

The location is really nice, the staff is friendly and the pizza isn't bad, but unfortunately it needs more time in the oven. It has great toppings, but unfortunately that runs the risk of it becoming soggy in the middle. They're not exactly cheap either. Despite everything, I would come back if I wanted a pizza in Zug am See as it tastes really good.

Unfriendly service, inflexible and incorrect information on the card

Sat down, waited 15 minutes, then received a menu, waited another 15 minutes and then left. Seemed they are way understaffed, lacking service. Location is nice.

The pizza is great, the staff is friendly and uncomplicated, even if you show up in a larger group at lunchtime.

I sit at the table for 10 minutes, the server says hello, clears the dishes and doesn't ask between two rounds what I would like to order! Terrace is half full. Then I left, I was served immediately in the Löwen opposite.

Extremely unfriendly staff, does not respond to customer requests, shakes his head when asked and ignores customers when reordering drinks. Very meager portions for this price and the dough for the pizza is practically non-existent.

The pizza was rather average, the staff tried hard, but seemed overwhelmed

I’m 50 and it’s my first ever review of a restaurant. After realizing that some people that arrived after us got their meals and ours still was not coming after 45 minutes, my wife asked me to find out if her salad was still not done she would prefer to cancel. I saw our waitress inside the restaurant putting pizzas into the oven, so I went in to find out about our order. When I approached her and asked for her attention a really rude bold man me asked “what do you want”, when I made my request he said in a very arrogant voice “ you already ordered “. Then he went into the bar and point to a couple of salads that where already ready and ordered another waitress to bring them to us and suddenly regretted and took my wife’s salad out of her hands. And he said “I’m sorry but that’s how it goes” when I replied “ You don’t seem sorry”, he just said “ No I’m not”. Really ugly experience, a men so aggressive, should not be allowed to work in the service industry or be sent to Mexico to learn 5 start customer service. So much for the swiss excellence in hospitality. This is a mexican/swiss speaking. My wife made wrote a review on Trip Advisor and found at this is a regular experience at this place. Bad publicity for Zug/Baar turism.

This restorant is absolutely underrated. We tried pizza with aperol spritz. Pizza was delicious and aperolwas fine. And special thanks to ms Katharina, who was always smiling when she is bringing sth to you. Thanks

Unfortunately disappointed with this restaurant. Location would be great, nice view and comfortable seating outside, I like that. But: mixed salad, forgot sunflower seeds, on the tomato mozzarella salad the pine nuts were not roasted like on the menu but were simply taken out of the package. The pizzas, which were soggy like never before, were already served while we were still eating the salad. Doesn't work at all!!! Tablecloth covered in stains, dirty. As usual, not recommended.

Service: Our table was briefly wiped with the palm of my hand, crumbs on the chair and my pants…. Ashtray cleaning with a cloth fished out of a kettle on the counter; Later, the plastic tablecloths of some tables were cleaned with the same water! Hygienically, in my opinion, extremely questionable! Even if another tablecloth or placemat is placed over it. Our waitress seemed rather stressed and awkward. But somehow I also felt sorry for her...

Not getting pizza at 2 p.m. on August 1st. Had to wait 35 minutes for the salad plate. Service was very slow even though there was little going on.

The food is top. Pizza was very nice but a bit small. The service could be more attentive and faster. The worst thing is the prices. Unfortunately you pay for the direct lakeside location. The “bar” was a 2.5dl Herrgöttli but at the price of a full-sized bar.

Enjoyed two nice thin (as they should be) pizzas whilst benefiting from the sun on the terrace last Wednesday. We had plenty of time waiting for our daughter to finish her activities so this was fine for us, but it took some time to get the bill...

Food was good, there was no garlic in the garlic spaghetti, but good. There were a lot of guests there because of the Zug Matic, so I was accommodating. I'll be back on Wednesday with 11 guests.

The worst service I have ever experienced! Absolute disaster. We just wanted something to eat. (salad & broad noodles) We had to ask three times whether we could finally order. When we asked the last question, the waiter pointed out the colleague at work who was supposed to be responsible for the orders. She didn't really want to do her job and came to us after I repeatedly spoke to her directly. She also had an open discussion with the employee because it was not known which customer the ice cream was for. In other words, there was a lack of agreement between work colleagues for coordination. When it came to ordering we started with the salad, where it ended straight away. Apparently it is not possible to adapt a salad on Sundays with less or no arugula, so simply substitute more leaf lettuce instead. The communication as we were told was simply weak and demotivating on the part of the waitress. As if you consciously don't want to pursue the wish. Apparently it is difficult to fulfill the simple wish. Afterwards I said that you could leave it alone. Afterwards we decided to eat in the Olive & Oregano restaurant (vis a vis). This Greek taverna can only be recommended! Top service and top food. In any case, I will never consider the Platzmühle restaurant again. I can't recommend it at all, unless you want to experience poor service. As a boss, my hair would stand on end if I had such demotivating employees. Unless you live with the same morals yourself.

A beautiful environment, the food was delicious and freshly prepared. The landlord greeted us friendly and offered us a table. Good in terms of price. I can therefore only recommend it at this point.

We spontaneously went to the beautifully located pizzeria. The location is great, service is poor - very long waiting times and very unfriendly. The fact that there were no anchovies on the pizza was simply ignored.

Service was extremely slow. We waited 5 minutes for a glass of cola but the waitress kept walking around with empty hands. We then waited 20 minutes until someone came so we could pay.

Worst pizza I've ever eaten, dough wasn't cooked through and way too expensive. After I explained my concerns, they put the pizza with the plate back into the oven and my fingers burned.

Magnificent cafe-pizzeria in the center of Zug next to the lake. You can eat outside. I recommend making a reservation. Attentive service.

Ambience: appropriate at Landsgemeinteplatz / food good, solid / service: possibly revised, long waiting times, service staff with visible cigarette packs in their breast pockets. It's a shame, it could certainly be better.

Pizzas ok, but for just under 30 francs (pizza of the month with buffalo mozzarella) VERY SMALL, elsewhere this would be declared a mini pizza, definitely not a filling dinner for an adult.

After the food didn't come for an hour, we asked. The order went missing, which can happen, but the way it was handled was very unprofessional and rude for the restaurant to have made a mistake. There was no apology and the waitress was angry that we said something. It's a shame that such poor service is offered in such a location. We will definitely avoid the restaurant.

Nice large outdoor area. It's a shame that after the so-called tomato salad with onions and basil we had to wait so long for the main course. Fish with vegetables and coconut saffron rice. It was also a shame that the vegetables were so over-seasoned that you couldn't even grasp the taste of the fish.

Service staff seemed exhausted and were definitely outnumbered by the number of tables to be served. Food so-so, maybe a matter of taste.

Pizza of the month: with eggplant cream, porcini mushrooms and Bündnerfleisch. Expressly desired to be well baked. After 50 minutes the little miracle came: diameter probably 20 cm, dough and rocket (extra request) quite lumpy. Not a single mushroom to be found. Pizza lukewarm. I can't say whether the service is friendly because they go out of their way... and don't speak German. Absolutely not recommended.

Absolute disaster. Waited 1 hour for the order to be taken. All service employees close their ears. The food is nothing special. The restaurant only benefits from the good location otherwise not recommended.

The noticeably small pizza tasted very good, as did the fish crispy. However, the service leaves a lot to be desired. It seems as if there is a lack of a chef de service who has an overview.

Service couldn’t care less. Waiting time beyond average. We ordered spaghetti carbonara but only received pasta with scrambled eggs and a bit of cheese of unknown origin. Definitely not worth the price.

Totally chaotic and unfriendly service. The weather was neither surprisingly nice nor the influx of people surprisingly large, but this still overwhelmed the staff. The service constantly runs back and forth without any effect and blames the chaos on the post-Corona era. After 20 minutes and about five unsuccessful attempts to order something, we left.

We went to the Platzmühle for dinner on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Full of hunger and looking forward to a well-deserved pizza after a short hike, we were happy to have a free spot. The waitress was stressed and hectic, but brought us the menu quite quickly. We didn't have to wait long for the drinks. The pizzas also came relatively quickly for a full restaurant. The anticipation was bursting, but the hunger remained: we ordered a small and a normal pizza, the small pizza, barely larger than two palms, was burnt on the edge, the normal pizza was as you would imagine a small pizza to be. Both pizzas tasted ok. While we were eating our pizzas, we observed two more complaints from the server about portions being too small. The waitress felt personally attacked and denied any guilt and clearly lacked the understanding that the complaints were justified. With pizzas this small, it's important to remember that they are at best a snack and not a full meal. Unfortunately, the price does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about the portion size (price-performance ratio is not right). We do not recommend this restaurant. However, it deserves the two stars because the theater almost borders on event gastronomy between the guests, the waiters and the boss.

Between Christmas and New Year, the three of us spontaneously ate in the restaurant. The restaurant was full. Guests even had to be turned away or some waited until a table became available. We were more than satisfied and can only recommend the restaurant. We had three different menus including a starter and the waiting time was completely fine. All three of us really enjoyed the food. The price is a bit high, but the menu prices have risen massively everywhere, during or after the Corona period, according to my taste. You can only find it cheaper in a workers' pub. So that's fine for me! This is how I would distribute points: Food taste 8/10 Portion size 8/10 Wait time 10/10 Service 10/10 Ambiance 7/10 Price. 7/10

Nice restaurant in the middle of Zug. Centrally located on Landsgemeindeplatz and close to the lake. It was a pleasure.
