Pollux in Zermatt

I really liked this place. Not just the excellent meal (vegan version of the mezzeteller) but the ambiance. Lone women diners like myself just chilling out. Good music. Charming staff. Highly recommend.

The herb fondue tastes excellent and the caquelon is generously filled. Cheers to the chef! Very experienced friendly service, such staff are more than worth their weight in gold. Cheers to the dear Lusitanian!

We ate here twice during our stay in Zermatt and were very impressed by both the vegetarian and vegan dishes and the service.

Slow service. Vegan options were just okay, not very flavorful or creative. Disappointing, as this is one of the only spots in Zermatt with vegan options.

Such a good experience, we had the Mezzeteller, curry & croquet dishes! So delicious and the staff were super friendly! Would highly recommend!

Very nice restaurant. The four of us spontaneously went to the Vegistube over lunch and were a little hungry. They immediately had a nice table ready and we had a vegetarian aperitif platter. This was very fine with high quality products. I've never had such delicious falafel. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere is very inviting and beautifully decorated. It has a large selection of vegetarian menus. The prices are completely reasonable for what you get. We'll definitely be happy to come back.

The Bread Disaster. It started with bread that was sub-par accompanied with "becel".... The salat and main course were not bad. However, fried crocettes are always a NO if they are not perfect. Otherwise, rather heavy vegetarian dishes but there is no easy escape for a restaurant serving vegetarian dishes. Many ingredients need to be highly processed in order to make them tasty.

A great restaurant with very good service and food. The menu offers a wide range of different menus.

We had 1 pasta, 1 cheese fondue with potato, and 1 mineral water for 2. Total was around 70 chf. The pasta was delicious, the cheese fondue comes with alcohol ( you can request to remove it, but it says it’s authentic to have alcohol in it) and it has a bitter after taste to it. It comes with bread and potato to go with the cheese. We did not enjoy it as it felt a lot of carbs with cheese. Heard that meat cheese fondue is a better dish.

It took an hour from the time we were seated for us to receive our order. I had high expectations but unfortunately the food was pretty bland and very carb-heavy. On the bright side the waitress was friendly even though she didn't really speak English.

It's great that there are delicious vegan dishes here. Our service was extremely friendly. Danger! If you want to go to the Vegistube, you have to explicitly say so at the entrance to the restaurant, which also has other areas. We were almost sent on again because the other areas were full and the staff thought we definitely didn't want to eat vegetarian.

We went to this restaurant on the first evening of our stay and were thrilled with both the food and the super friendly service. So we went there two more times. It is very comfortable both inside and on the terrace. The vegetarian menus but also classics such as fondue or schnitzel are very tasty. We recommend everyone to have been there at least once :-)

Delightfully delicious, with good vegan meals selection, and brilliant vegan desert and sorbets. Plus, reasonably priced meals, and friendly service. 🫶

Restaurant was a little hot (visited mid March) but otherwise very good experience! A little tough to find as it was in the basement of the building, but worth the hunt. We got the Greek naan pizza, the wokpfanne stir fry, and chocolate fondue. Delicious!

A very warm welcome as did the room, wooded and very pleasant. Very good dishes, feta focaccia, vegetable olives, good but a little massive, and veggie noodles also good but lacking, in my opinion, a little taste. Take away offered and it is very appreciated.

So glad I found a veggie spot in Zermatt with healthy food and drinks❤️ the staff was so nice and the food delicious. We had the sweet potato soup, the gnocchi, and the curry! The carrot, orange and apple juice was a bit pricy but loved how they served it! We'll be back✨

Not many vegan options, very pricey. In addition, it is actually inside another (non-vegeterian) resturant.

We were lucky to have showed up to Vegistube right when they opened because it filled up very quickly (and it’s not small). We were able to find a table for two inside and had a lovely dinner at, what seems like, one of the best restaurants in Zermatt. They have a vegetarian menu and a meat lovers one but it seems like their best dishes are on the vegetarian menu. Though, everything that came out of the kitchen looked and smelled delicious. They seem to be one of those restaurants that doesn’t offer anything that isn’t absolutely delightful. The service is top notch as well as is the ambiance. If you can get a reservation or show up right when they open, I highly recommend getting dinner here.

Absolutely delicious vegetarian/vegan dinner! Cozy restaurant and professional staff. Wild mushroom salad with figs, walnut and orange was a highlight! If you are into healthy eating, or someone in the group is...really worth it! Love it.

A wonderful vegetarian oasis in Zermatt. It's a bit of a struggle to find good vegetarian food in Zermatt, we found this online, decided to give it a go and we were not disappointed! Very tasty minestrone soup, and a superb cranberry, mushroom... gnocchi for main course. Service was impeccable. It's a bold move to open a vegetarian restaurant here, best of luck to them and we wish them every success.

Fortunately it's not just vegetarian because the roesti is excellent. Impeccable, friendly and efficient service. Just a shame that the Spritzes are largely diluted.

Very good food, multiple vegetarian/vegan options too. Cranberry gnochhi is a must try here. Swiss cheese fondue is good too.

I was there with my family and we ordered for some ice cream. The staff was extremely racist and made us wait for 20 mins and still didn’t give the ice cream. When we asked why it was taking so long the staff rudely told us to go to McDonald’s if we wanted fast service. They had no intention of serving us and were purposely making us wait. Extremely disappointed with this behaviour! Would not recommend going here

The Vegistube is in the basement of Hotel Pollux and is almost hidden. You think it's in the basement, but you have windows looking out the back and it's very stylish and has the best ambience of all the restaurants in the hotel. But you don't just go there because of the ambience: hence the food: Eating without meat is the exception in Zermatt, which is why we “out of necessity” made a reservation there. What can I say: A direct hit. Such delicious food with such friendly and attentive service, if it were the restaurant at home I would go there every week. Absolute recommendation!

Nice vegetarian restaurant in the center of Zermatt, with quite a few options on the menu. It’s hidden in the basement (though there are windows and natural light coming from the backyard). Food is good, very generous, creative while being uncomplicated. Most of the food seems homemade. Staff is attentive and we were very quickly served.

My boyfriend's Greek naan pizza was great but my carrot gnocchi tasted monotonous once I was partway through. Also this restaurant is quite expensive considering that the dishes contain no meat.

Mezze plate was wonderful. The hummus dip was so good! Entrees were okay, we had the Chili ravioli and the risotto. I don't think we will likely return, but it wasn't bad to try. Service was also quite slow.

Personnel very kind and precise and nice atmosfere. We are vegans and there were a good number of options to choose. One "negative" aspect of the vegan dishes in my opinion (that's why the 3 stars) is that for most options, except lentils curry, there has been just removal of meat but not replacement with something that would compensate for those nutrients (namely proteins, like tofu, tempeh or some meat substitute or more lugumes). Otherwise, dishes were very tasty and abundant portions.

Lovely vegetarian Restaurant in the middle of Zermatt. They offer a nice range of starters (eg Mezze Plate, Salad with roasted mushrooms, chestnut-pear soup) and main dishes (Naan Pizza, Homemade Gnocchi variations, Couscous, Pumpkin Ravioli). The food was delicious and we booked ahead of time, as the restaurant can get quite busy on weekends.

We were sited in a separate section of the restaurant with walls, as vegetarian section. The pizza Nan was not what I expected, specifically knowing NAN to not be pizza dough. Also too much vinegar or tomato sauce was used, making the food very acidic. The ravioli was good.

Great place for vegetarians and even meat lovers. Top notch service. English well spoken by all staff. I suggest the "all you can eat" raclett.. Rousti was good and desert menu had great options.

I was skeptical of 5 stars at first but this place is amazing. If you're not vegetarian you will still love this place. The ambiance, service, and quality are all there. I'm going back again before we depart Zermatt!

Nice restaurant near the train station in Zermatt. We are passionate vegetarian lovers and the name immediately attracted us. Cozy seating outside with a roof and very friendly service. The cloud on the coffee was still and my tomato and strawberry soup was fine and well seasoned, as was the sweet potato curry. Simply really tasty and was ready quickly. Short waiting time. Tip top 👍😎

Wir assen im Rahmen eines Aufenthaltes in Zermatt in einem Hotel ohne Restaurant 3x im Pollux zu Abend. Das Essen war stets gut mit fairen Preisen, ausser dass die Fleischgerichte zu teuer waren (+40 Franken pro Teller). Andere währschafte Gerichte (Fondue, Käseschnitte, Rösti) sind mit durchschnittlichen 22 Franken in einem guten Preissegement. Wir können das Restaurant empfehlen.

La Vegistube is one of the restaurants of the Pollux hotel and offers excellent and abundant vegetarian and vegan dishes. Also recommended for omnivores!

On s'est régalé avec une suprême de poulet " saltimbocca" avec riz aux herbes et lègumes. En dessert, le gâteau d'abricots avec sauce caramel a satisfait les becs sucrés ! Le service est attentif est le patron est sympa et pro;

Aus meiner Sicht ein geniales Restaurant für Vegetarier*innen! Ich habe selten eine so grosse Auswahl an wunderbaren fleischlosen Speisen erlebt in einem Touristenort wie Zermatt es ist. Eigentlich ein Ort für Fondue, Raclette und viel Fleisch, hatten wir die Möglichkeit 4 wunderbare Gerichte plus vegetarischem Vorspeiseteller zu geniessen. Alles wunderbar zubereitet und sehr köstlich zu essen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Auch das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ich kann dieses Restaurant allen vegetarisch affinen Leuten sehr empfehlen.

Wir kennen die Restaurant und das Hotel seit Jahren. Immer ein sicherer Wert. Preis und Leistung stimmen absolut. Top Lage mitten in Zermatt. Und das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Unbedingt empfehlenswert.

Das Essen war gut. Der Service noch zu optimieren. Obwohl wir nur zu zweit essen gingen, wussten sie nie, was jetzt wer bestellt hat. Ansonsten können wir nichts schlechtes berichten.

Die Rösti sind der Wahnsinn! Auch bzgl. glutenfrei konnte die Bedienung direkt Auskunft geben. Auch preislich absolut im Rahmen für Zermatt Verhältnisse.

Tiptop von B-S Von der (B)egrüssung, dem feinen Essen, bis hin zum schwatz mit dem Chef und ein (S)chlummertrunk hat alles perfekt gepasst. P.S. verstehe den Kommentar von Zermatter123 überhaupt nicht und frage mich ob dies eine korrekte Bewertung ist.

Für einen Schlummertrunk am Abend ist die Bar super geeignet. Können wir nur empfehlen. Am Sonntagabend findet man praktisch keine Bar, welche noch geöffnet hat. Pollux ist da eine Ausnahme! Sehr freundliches Personal

Fantastic place to eat. Reasonably priced wine and excellent cheese fondue and Rosti. Service was fantastic-5 stars. And would definitely recommend their chocolate fondue. Loved the ambiance and walked out extremely happy!!

Excellent restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. High quality traditional food. We ate there two nights out of the three we were in Zermatt as it was such a good find.

We come here every year and are never disappointed. Although this is the place to come eat fondue, raclette, the meat is also good.

Ob Lust auf eine rustikale Rösti ode ein schönes Stück Fleisch, das Lokal bietet beides. Auch ein ansprechendes Salatbuffet ist im Angebot. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, die Preise angemessen. Ein Ort, an den wir jederzeit gerne wieder kommen.

I thought the Zurich style veal was quite nice - though I have nothing to compare it to. Additionally, I was happy enough with the Cheese & tomato fondue, but I wouldn't order that again.

We can highly recommend the Vegistube in Zermatt. The menu is varied and vegetarian, but not too big. The menus are really great and also appeal to non-vegetarians. The preparation is loving and the service is extremely courteous. A beautiful and great restaurant that you'll love to go to again!
