The bartender Ali is exceptional and makes us visit him every time we come to Zermatt.

I fell in love with this place, the wine was amazing, atmosphere is excellent and above that is the service. Ali was my waiter and he was super cordial, extremely attentive, extremely nice and great energy! Highly recommend you come say hi to Ali.

I went to the bar at the end of the evening to enjoy a drink, the bartender is professional, welcoming, made me a very very good Espresso Martini and was patient because we were the last... Very nice evening, thank you.

Guaranteed moment of relaxation, great service and magnificent location

We went for a drink after the renovation work and we were very happy to be back. Ali welcomed us with a big smile and « Welcome home! » hug. The service, the decor and the live music in the bar are making this place one of our favorite places in Zermatt and and we will always stop there where in town.

Super schönes Hotel mit Aussicht auf Matterhorn. Alle Angestellten waren freundlich kompetent. Das frühstück und Abendessen waren sehr sehr gut. Der Spa-Bereich Sauna, Pool. Aussen Whirlpool. Sehr schön. Wir hatten sehr schöne Tage zum entspannen. Wir kommen wieder 👍👍👍

Wir hatten einen schönen Abend mit qualitiv sehr gutem Essen! Preis/Leistung ist mehr als fair, Bedienung ist freundlich und gut informiert, und obwohl es ein Missverständnis gab bei der Vorspeise wurde es schnell behoben. Dessert war fantastisch. Keine Massenabfertigung wie in anderen Restaurants in Zermatt :)

Wir sind im Hotel Diana und haben das Nachtessen im Alpenhof. Es gab ein sehr leckeres 5 Gang Menue für 68 CHF. Preisleistung passt sehr für mich. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Restaurant ist sehr heimelig und modern. Empfehlenswert.

Bon accueil, excellent menu, et serveur très professionnel

Viel mehr gibts nicht zu sagen, das Personal, ob im Restaurant oder an der Bar, ist ausgesprochenen freundlich. Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet. Das Lokal ist durch das viel Holz rustikal und etwas dunkel.

Hatten einen 5-Gänger und alles war super. Jeder Gang war super angerichtet und hat wirklich geschmeckt. Der Preis ist für die Qualität der Speisen angemessen.

Der Service im Restaurant ist super. Das Pesronal ist immer super nett und freundlich. Das Essen ist einfallsreich und sehr lecker. Tolle Cigar-Lounge und Bar mit Live Musik. Grüsse an Ali, bester Barkeeper am Platz!!

Good service, great cuisine, and the price is right for the quality of this place

Der Essbereich ist wunderschön eingerichtet, im traditionellen Stil mit Holzverkleidung. Eine gute Auswahl an traditionellen regionalen Gerichten, die mit hochwertigen Zutaten zubereitet werden. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal.

Very nice, rustic facility. The Spa is fantastic. Very few people using it.

Très bon et joli restaurant. Particulièrement dans la partie avant, vue sur la rue. Les boiseries y sont plus anciennes et le plafond plus haut. Menu offert est bien varié. Les plats sont succulents et la présentation très attirante. Belle carte des vins.

Nous avons passé une excellente soirée au restaurant Alpenhof et on tiens à remercier Ali qui nous a assuré un magnifique service. Accueil chaleureux, ambiance détendue, service professionnel et souriant. Belle carte des mets et des vins.Nous reviendrons certainement!

Exzellentes Wanderwochenende mit Freunden verbracht. Alles war perfekt, sei es das Essen, die freundlichen Worte und der aufmerksame Service. Wurden sofort wiedererkannt und mit Namen begrüsst, obwohl unser letzter Aufenthalt schon ein paar Monate her war. Jederzeit gerne wieder.

Herausragender Service, hervorragendes Essen und eine sensatioelle Atmosphäre. Sehr zu empfehlen. Wir waren eine grosse Gruppe mit über 40 Personen. Alle waren durchweg begeistert, auf Zusatzwünsche wurde eine Lösung gefunden. Immer wieder gerne.

Terrible experience, from the moment we were seated till we left. For anyone's who been to Switzerland, you'd know the tap water is probably the best tasting in the world. It'd be something I'd be proud of, but you wouldn't think so at this place, where our server (Justina) scoffed and gave us a disgusted look when we chose that over the obviously overpriced other options. This was an ominous start, and set the tone for the rest of the night. Our server forgot to come back to take our orders, resulting in another server, who took our order only after taking a few others from other patrons who were seated a good 15 minutes after we were. We ordered, and waited. And waited. And waited some more. When we asked the server about our food, he proceed to give us a crash course on the sequencing of starters preceding mains, as if this was a mind-boggling revelation. Our concern was the timeliness of everything, and we weren't so much with a condescending lecture on the processes of a kitchen. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, this defensive line continued, ruining our appetites and evenings. As a bonus, this same server (Evans) decided to come by and gloat about how he was right that our food would be out in the next 5 minutes, as if he'd done us a huge favor and like he deserved praise. Obviously my sarcasm flew right over his head, and landed squarely in this review. I leave you with a photo of my girlfriend's 39 CHF (40 USD) dish.

I would first like to apologise to waitress -sorry Princess JUSTINA- for ordering tap water :-( Please remember not to order tap water because you will be SCOFFED AT, and DISCRIMINATED AGAINST (or at least ignored by Justina who won’t take your order). She will also kindly remind you during payment that tap water is free. Sorry that you had to endure my poverty Justina! I would also like to apologise to EVANS for asking such a challenging question -“Could you check on our orders please?”- after 45 minutes of ordering our food, and watching everyone else be served that he had no choice but to go into a 5 minute lecture about the logistical situation of the restaurant. I really should have been more understand and less demanding with my question. So this is a reminder to patrons not to bother Evans! He is a busy man. After all he did already reply “Relax, the food will come. Just wait.” Sorry for being impatient! TLDR; My first 1-star review of horrific service staff from hell. At this restaurant you’ll also get a McDonald’s sized meal for 50USD (see photo). Justina was right. I must be poor...

Ich kann es drehen und wenden wie ich will - der Alpenhof hat kulinarisch gesehen klar zugelegt. Egal ob à la carte, oder Halbpensionsmenü, er ist mir eine willkommene Abwechslung zu den traditionellen Adressen in Zermatt geworden. Fleisch wird hier von bester Qualität und perfekt gegart aufgetragen. Mit dem HP-Menü wird auch jeweils ein sehr gutes Süppchen angeboten. Das Salat- und Käsebuffet ist sehr vielfältig und schön angerichtet und in der Weinkarte findet sich für jeden Geschmack etwas feines. Dies gilt uneingeschränkt auch bei den offen angebotenen Weinen und Champagner. All dies wird von einem sehr aufmerksamen, immer lächelnden Servierpersonal aufs Schönste abgerundet. Danke für zwei abwechslungsreiche und fröhliche Abende.

Este restaurante es muy romántico. Fui allí con mi esposa y allí cuanto a luz de velas en cada mesa y muy bonita renovation. El servicio es excelente y una mención especial al camarero Ali. Él realmente bien. La comida es deliciosa y el priceis razonable (Suiza estándar). Pasamos una noche maravillosa.

Wir haben im Alpenhof ein tolles Abendessen genossen. Man wählt 5, 8 oder 15 Gänge. Meiner Meinung nach, können fünf genügen... wer grösseren Hunger hat sollte ev. acht Gänge wählen. Das Essen war toll - halt eher kleinere Portionen. Der Alpenhof ist eine sehr schöne Lokalität, das Personal war exzellent.
