We were able to celebrate our wedding in the Eschenberg restaurant. And it was absolutely great. I came across this restaurant spontaneously because I wanted a cheese fondue at my wedding. We inquired about 2 months before the appointment and since our appointment was still available, we went that same evening. Shaban the boss was absolutely uncomplicated and planned the menu and the party with us within an hour. An aperitif, salad plate, cheese fondue and finally a dessert plate. He also had good ideas for alternatives to cheese fondue and vegan options. On our big day, everything went smoothly. We were able to enjoy the festival to the fullest and Shaban and his team did a great job. The quality of the food was absolutely top. There were 60 of us and the service that Shaban and his team provided was fantastic. I haven't experienced this in a restaurant for a long time. They read the guests' wishes and we didn't have to worry about anything. Thank you very much for everything! We'll definitely be back.

It was like being in a cozy room with a warm tiled stove and a very friendly, attentive host as well as the service staff. We had fondeu chinoise with a very fine homemade sauce and the mangotiramisu was simply super delicious. We'd love to come back.

We went to the Eschenberg restaurant for a cozy fondue meal with friends. The salad plate and the avocado bruschetta were delicious and the fondue was excellent. For dessert we tried the homemade apple strudel. A poem! The passion of the host/chef is palpable and can be seen in the fine dishes. The atmosphere of the Witschaft is rustic/cozy. We felt very comfortable and really enjoyed the evening. Thank you! We will come back.

We went to the restaurant for Fondue Chinoise with the family during Advent. The host is super flexible, incredibly nice and relaxed. The meat was great and the side dishes (fries, rice, grilled vegetables) were always replenished. The sauces were very tasty! The selection of dishes served at our neighboring tables looked great. For vegetarians, gluten or lactose intolerance, the boss personally comes to the table and explains which dishes he can offer. Great service, great food! We will be back :)

This restaurant lived up to its reputation. I’m visiting Switzerland and many people I met recommended this place. I asked for a traditional Swiss dish and I got Spetcle. For anyone wanting to try something new definitely visit this restaurant. Very friendly people and delicious food. Will be back!

I spontaneously decided to visit this restaurant with my wife, which surprised us very positively. The service was very personal and attentive, which I really appreciated. The food was literally next level. I chose the Zürcher Geschnetzeltes, where the meat was very tender and of good quality. For dessert I had the panna cotta (homemade), which was also freshly prepared and garnished with fruit. A dream!!! Thank you very much Mr. Shaban for the wonderful evening!!

We made reservations for brunch for five people at relatively short notice. Since too few people had registered for a brunch buffet and it was therefore not held, the owner of the restaurant quickly offered to prepare a brunch just for our table. We expected the small etagere - which is almost common in Winterthur - but we didn't want to look for another restaurant. But the owners totally surprised us. Our table was almost bending under the weight of the cold and warm, sweet and salty dishes. The food (freshly prepared rösti, scrambled eggs, bacon, plaited meat, Birchermüesli, cornflakes, sweet pastries, and so on) was very tasty and the service was super accommodating. The price was more than fair at 42.00 per person (including cold and warm drinks) and quite cheap for comparable brunch offers in the Winterthur area. Thank you very much to the very friendly owners for the great Sunday morning - we'll be happy to come back!

We recommend! Every week we treat ourselves to a break in the Eschenberg restaurant and are absolutely thrilled every time. The “Hüt” lunch menu is always a highlight, especially when it is topped with the small starter salad. The lunch menu offers a small but exquisite selection from the main menu, so there is something for everyone. A nice, rustic restaurant. Enjoyed an excellent venison entrecôte with homemade spaetzli and seasonal vegetables. Since the cook was also a butcher, he knows his craft. The waitress was very polite and always had a smile. Individual wishes were primarily taken into account. The chef personally checked on our well-being and was not above taking another drink order and having a short conversation with us. The walk was definitely worth it. A successful evening. Looking forward to the next time!

The boss gave us a very warm and friendly welcome. The food was very good, especially the fish snacks. Our special requests were fulfilled easily and flexibly. At the end the boss even offered us Baileys, limoncello and grappa. The garden is beautiful and cozy and a real paradise for children. The only thing that didn't spark was the service staff. However, she was still friendly and accommodating.

The garden restaurant under the shady trees is so inviting. We are completely satisfied and would like to come back.

A great restaurant in the middle of nature! A really good opportunity to find peace and quiet close to the city. You feel super comfortable, especially on warm summer evenings or on weekends. Was here for Sunday brunch a few weeks ago. The buffet is very rich and varied, with all products and dishes on offer being very tasty and freshly prepared. The bread was homemade and still warm. The hash browns and egg dishes were very tasty. The service was very courteous and friendly. I can highly recommend the brunch, especially given the beautiful ambience and very fair prices. Gladly again!

Nice restaurant. Unfortunately the quality is no longer good. The tables in the garden restaurant are dirty (despite only a few guests) and worn out. The food is mediocre and not really appetizing. The small starter salad excluded. It looks delicious and it is. The ice cream sundaes are bland and boring. No decorations, not even an ice cream cone. Unfortunately, price-performance is not right. But the boss is very nice. The waitress, unfortunately, not at all. There is still a lot of room for improvement. I hope for improvement and will give the place a second chance in a few months.

We were there for brunch and although it is offered until 1 p.m., at 11:30 a.m. we only found the rather unappetizing leftovers from the previous guests. Nothing was served afterwards or at least the leftovers were presented again in an attractive way. The quality of the offering also left a lot to be desired. Even the very friendly and attentive waiter couldn't make up for all of this. Conclusion: NO recommendation, poor price/performance.

Phew.. ugh.. ugh... I'm sorry but this concept, this tenant and this service are a complete disaster... The first look at the menu is ok, but the prices are very, very proud... The quality of the However, the food sucks. Salads for starters not nicely presented with a small micro-speck of bland house sauce. Guacamole bruschettas with three slices of burnt baguette with a sad pile of guacamole for 10.- ... sliced ​​veal for 40.- felt like five strips of meat and 300g of canned champions with plump, bland and peppery spaetzli. Pepper is also the only spice this chef knows. The cordon bleu for 34 was dry with rubbery, unmelted cheese with a handful of fries. I buy two cordon bleu at Migros for 13.- and the taste and quality are better than in this overpriced restaurant. When I studied the dessert menu, I thought at least the dessert was cheaper. A scoop of ice cream for 4.-. But this ball is half of a conventional ball, so 4.- is again out of proportion and really bold. We will never go to this restaurant again as long as these people are in charge. The service was also non-existent... you were neither greeted nor said goodbye after paying. The star serves as a gift because we were too stupid to go straight back. Admittedly it was our own fault that we ate there anyway.

Should have been a nice break last summer. Then it started: There was no ketchup with the Schnipo. Asking three times ended with two 20ml bags like on a plane. At that point I was almost finished eating. As far as the sad thing could be called food. Staff inattentive, owner not interested in anything. There wasn't even much going on. When I look at the reviews and data, I have to conclude that this restaurant was handed over to people some time ago who are now running it into the ground.

We have been here again for a long time. Old restaurant with a new landlord. Farmhouse parlor but with new tables. Fit in very well. Unfortunately, the menu is a bit too classy and too expensive for my taste. But we will definitely test again.

Wow, an insider tip! We ended up here on New Year's Eve thinking it would be in the city. Unfortunately it was very out of the way but easily accessible by Uber in less than 10 minutes from Winterthur. The price-performance ratio is more than fair. I had a fondue chinoise menu for 60 Fr which included a starter and dessert. We had. 3 different starters, they were all delicious, but the tomato soup was by far the best and definitely recommended! The Fondue Chinoise was generous with 3 different types of meat, fries, rice, 3 different sauces and fruits and pickles. The homemade mangotiramisu was to die for! The ambience is a mixture of farm restaurant and modernity. Super beautiful! The innkeeper and his team are all very attentive without being intrusive and offer more than the usual service. It's nice to see that after 30 years in the gastronomy scene he is still involved with heart and joy. We will definitely come back and recommend it to friends and family. Thank you for the lovely evening.
