Restaurant Krone in Luzern

This is the cheapest hotel in Lucerne that's only around 8 minutes away from the Luzern main train station. Look for Hotel Krone instead of Alstadt Hotel. The triple room is big enough for 3 mid sized asian adults. We visited on March 2024 and the room was warm enough. Water pressure was also good. There's no bidet. The beds were comfortable to sleep on. Take note though that the elevator is too small. It can only fit 1 person with an XL baggage. There's no electric kettle but there's a coffee machine with complimentary pods and sugar. The restaurant only serves breakfast for 19CHF each. WIFI was weak and unreliable. There's a COOP restaurant at the back of the hotel but it closes aroune 5p. The next nearest COOP is at the Lucerne main train station and it closes at 10pm Tap water in Switzerland is safe to drink. We just refilled our water bottles from the faucet in our room. This hotel is good value for money in an excellent location.

Nice location in the center of the old town. Very helpful staff. Room tiny bit small making moving around with a luggage a tad difficult. Would have preferred kettle in room instead of coffee machine.

PROS: Great location, easy walking distance to multiple restaurants and train station, friendly and helpful staff. CONS: Standard twin room was tiny, we found it difficult to move around it and the toilet door opened to block the entrance. Was advised the 'mini bar' (which was full of drinks to purchase) was not a fridge. NO cutlery or bowls, we were given access to paper bowls upon request from service. The room air was stagnant, we would return in the evening (in Winter) and the room felt warm and smelly - only good thing was the windows were large and open easily. Barely any room to store luggage aside from the floor. No kettle, only coffee machine.

Rooms were clean, bed and pillows were comfortable. Centrally located, every necessity is available in 200 feet.

Breakfast is very good. Unfortunately only from 7:30.

I recently stayed at Hotel Krone in Lucerne and had a delightful experience. Despite the hotel not being extravagant, its warm hospitality and attentive staff, particularly Dustin at the reception, made my stay memorable. Dustin greeted me warmly and was incredibly accommodating throughout. The rooms were clean and cozy, providing a peaceful retreat after exploring Lucerne. The hotel's convenient location and Dustin's exceptional service make it a highly recommended choice for a pleasant stay in Lucerne.

Booked a triple room for an end of January trip. When we arrived at night, the hotel had graciously upgraded our room to an apartment! The apartment is very spacious, has a kitchen, living area, dining area, spacious bed and bathroom with washing machine and drawer. It's located in the center of old town, 2nd floor (no need to worry, the staff will help carry your luggage upstairs). Best part is definitely the location. Located in the center of old town, you can walk everywhere, and I mean everywhere (to the station, lion monument, castles, the beautiful bridges). Located nearby also a bakery and department store, very convenient. Will definitely book the apartment if I ever travel to Luzern again.

Das Bett war aber bequem und die Dame am Empfang, welcher wir bei der Abreise ein konstrukives Feedback gegeben haben, hat uns aus Kulanz auch das Parking erlassen und wir durften das Gepäck und Auto ebenfalls länger dort lassen. Sie war wirklich sehr nett und hat den Aufenthalt etwas versüsst. :)

Awesome location in the city center, complicated to arrive with the car though. Parking is available for 27chf a day in the square next to the hotel (we left it in a parking for 35chf right when entering i the city). Room are comfortable and clean, staff was correct & friendly.

The Krone Hotel is well located in beautiful Lucerne within the Old Town and an easy walk to the train station and the major attractions. Although you can walk from the train pulling luggage, I recommend you get a taxi. We enjoyed our stay there. The room is well appointed with small details like a magnifying make up mirror, an accessible shower and comfortable bed. The breakfast is well priced and very nice at 19 CHE. We compared it to finding a cafe on the street and it really is a better bargain. The staff were helpful and pleasant and the rooms very clean.

The gentleman at the desk came outside in disbelief and walked down to the square where he seen first hand that the roadway was blocked by 400 to 500 people singing! He then walked to my van parked a few blocks away and drove it for me , taking a "back way" to the hotel. Our stay there was for 2 nights and the location was great! Hotel was clean and the staff was VERY helpful. We walked to the bridges and Lake Lucerne with ease.
