Restaurant Rossli in Arth

What true Arth without this restaurant with this long tradition and this host???

Horrible accommodation! I visited the "hotel" in an emergency situation and was horrified. Room with junk, dirty, dusty, ceiling lamp broken, no toilet paper and EVERYTHING smelled unbearably of cigarettes. I have never experienced anything like it! At least the host was friendly. Despite the conditions, this accommodation is prohibited.

There were twelve of us, we ate and drank very well, and the service was good and friendly. I can only recommend it👍

So... feels like this is a controversial place! Went there for dinner and I was transported 30 years or even more in time from a design point of view. Felt very retro!! I quite liked it as it had its own character, like the old uncle that is always up for a good joke! The biggest surprise was the food! Plating from the same era, but the food was amazing! I have eaten in so many places and the taste was there!! We had beef and deer and they were perfectly done! And the side dishes were very tasty!

Great pub, the counter is valuable

Avoid this hotel! It's a complete disaster! The condition of the rooms is terrible: torn mattresses, duvets with holes, dirty carpets, bad smell of cigarettes and alcohol, trash cans that have not been emptied, etc. Patron is having a loud orgy with his drinking buddies below our room window. We left the hotel in a hurry at 1am.

Service staff cannot speak German Cucumber salad was frozen, beetroot salad looked like it was 3 weeks old. Cream schnitzel sauce tasted strange and was broken. Coffee cup was dirty.

I'm disappointed! The staff was very friendly, the cordon bleu was very tasty. However, someone in the restaurant was smoking, the ketchup had its “birthday” a few weeks ago. In terms of hygiene, there is still room for improvement.

Stinks of cigarettes, poor service

Hôtel vétuste, en mauvaise état. La salle à manger et les chambres sentent la vieille cigarette. Il y a un trou comblé avec une brique dans le plancher et des champignons dans la douche.

My verdict on room number 3<br/>Carpet with stains, linoleum with cracks.<br/>Shower curtain and joints a paradise for red mold.<br/>A hole in the floor under the foot of the bed that was "corrected" with a concrete tile . I find the lady of the house to be a friendly, nice person.

Only thanks to the chef 2 stars. The room and bedding smelled of cigarette smoke and there was no soap/shampoo in the room.

Restaurant Rössli is located in the very centre of Arth - a small village on the southern shore of Lake Zug and at the foot of Mount Rigi. On the negative side, the service proved somewhat disappointing. The tenant lady was polite, but rather cold and not overly friendly - although I have some knowledge of the Swiss-German language. Fortunately, the food was quite tasty, with focus on Swiss traditional specialties. As starter I chose the pan-fried zander with homemade tartar sauce. Very good portion; however: the lemon wedge on the side was still frozen!! The chef could have at least sliced a fresh lemon! As main course the pan-fried perch fillets proved very fresh: generous and delicious portion. Eventually I indulged myself with a classic winter dessert: ‘’Apfelchüechli’’ (let a local pronounce first!) - apple fritters along with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Delicious but definitely not for the health-conscious. Amounting to CHF75 the bill remained moderate (for Swiss standards). The very tasty food is unfortunately let down by the rather cold tenant lady - hence the score of 3.

Good restaurant with friendly staff near the lake. Halls can be rented for events.

Highly recommended, very good cuisine, everything is freshly prepared😉😉
