good food, wine and and even mocktails! super cool vibe too. definitely will be back! i dont have a good photo, but we had risotto, pasta, meat and fish and everyone liked their food a lot. :)

Four of us were there for lunch two weeks ago! Super nice, great pizza and good service. But Zurich is reasonably priced. By the way, the Chemine was also hip and cool! I can recommend it, I'll definitely come back!

Very tasty pizza and tasty polpo salad

Super good atmosphere. The team is superb. Not easy to find if you're not local, but you have to look. We didn't have a reservation and we went there with our 2 children. They welcomed us kindly and were super nice throughout the service. Strongly recommended

In my opinion, 27CHF for a prosciutto pizza to take away is excessive in price, especially if you put the ingredients on the pizza very sparingly. The sauce also took a lot of getting used to. Therefore I cannot recommend this pizza

Friendly atmosphere. My pizza was expensive and not necessarily special, but probably normal for Zurich, as everything is expensive in Zurich. The restaurant is definitely recommended, if only because it has interesting guests and the service is very friendly.

Very good restaurant, cozy atmosphere and actually quite fair prices for Zurich. I just wish there was a little more topping on the pizza. Otherwise very good and cozy restaurant with TOP service.

They pose as an Italian restaurant, but there's nothing Italian about them at all, the pizza dough is dry and tasteless, the pizza is too expensive, the tomato is acidic and we're not talking about the mozzarella. The pasta my friend got was dripping with oil. When we arrived no one counted us for 10 minutes, whoever was supposed to welcome us was serving the tables and the other waitresses could only tell us to wait. The only positive note was our friendly and helpful (Italian) waitress, otherwise a chaotic place that puts on too much air for what it offers. Really, I don't recommend it.

Very cool location, although the entrance wasn't easy to find. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. Osso bucco was very tough and the polenta wasn't great either. Very unfortunate. Unfortunately not recommended.

Awful place, worst pizza, to avoid

The must-visit pizzeria in a large hall that's filled with voices, the smell of fresh pizza, and love-filled dishes.

We came across Rosso as we had our flight cancelled, we were so pleased we did. Ideal location, great atmosphere, awesome service and tasty food. We didn’t book, but I would recommend this so you are not disappointed. We shared a table for six and the couples either side of us were very friendly. We would definitely go back and recommmed to all.

We finally made it to the Rosso. After initially making a mistake in the door, we were greeted very warmly. Service is super friendly and fast. We had goat's cheese with figs, which was ok, the cheese was a bit runny, and leek (with roasted, caramelized almonds) as a starter, which was good. Afterwards there was pizza Cime di Rapa and pizza Ortolana. Dough is very crispy, the Cime di Rapa was very small, it was delicious. Pizza Ortolana (vegan variants) also crispy but unfortunately only with eggplant and lots of rocket. We would have liked more/different vegetables. For dessert we tried the panna cotta, which was rather liquid, but the roasted caramelized almonds. It was good, difficult to entertain with more than 4 people (quite loud). Service top.

I used to regularly go to Rosso in larger groups at lunchtime. This evening the two of us were spontaneously in the area. Since we hadn't made a reservation, the young lady at the entrance was already rolling her eyes (thanks for coming by several times a week). When we were brought to the table, they wanted to seat us right next to a father with his baby, even though there were 14 other seats available. Afterwards we were shouted at, we just have to make a reservation in the future. From a young "waitress" who probably comes from deep Aargau and was allowed to work in service for the first time ever (in a wannabe cool hipster shop). Guys, it's better to go to Gerold's Chuchi. Both the pizza and the homemade pasta are much better there, and the staff knows what hospitality means. This arrogant hipster "culture" in Rosso is just humanly just creepy and embarrassing.

Spacious and clean place. Good service and very fast. In my opinion they have the best margherita pizza in Zürich.

Nice down-to-earth Italian restaurant. You then sit at long tables in an old industrial factory building. Cool atmosphere and good price-performance ratio.

The good things first: the chocolate bomb was a blast in terms of size in relation to the price, but it tasted really good. Let's stick to food. If you like an authentic Italian pizza, prepared with amore and a dough that is either crispy or airy or particularly well seasoned, you will unfortunately not get your money's worth here. The pizza is just about average. The toppings on the pizza were quite ok. So much for food. What I and my partner were really disappointed about was the service. Yes, you work in a cool location for Zurich. You can also find the entrance if you want to go to you. This even makes things exciting when you come to you for the first time. However, that in no way justifies this emotionless and indecent service. It's not cool if you have no idea what you're offering. Ignoring the guests didn't give us the feeling of, "Oh man, they're so awesome, thank you, we can eat with you." Rosso used to be a cool, decent restaurant. Unfortunately, today I was disappointed in you. A little tip to the operator, even if you have a good location in the bacon-wrapped Prime Tower. The people who work there. They are committed to providing service. Qualified personnel also cost. ;)

Friendly service and delicious food. I ordered the venison ragout, but accidentally received another venison dish. I only noticed this when I received the invoice. Although this situation was also self-inflicted, I was charged for the venison ragout, which was half the price. Big praise to the boss!

My visit to the Rosso restaurant left me rather perplexed. The entrance is not well signposted and difficult to find in the evening. The restaurant itself is located in a large hall within an industrial building. Due to the large number of tables and the sparse furnishings, there is a deafening noise that encourages guests to speak loudly. We had to wait over 30 minutes for a simple dish of pasta and a pizza. Unfortunately, neither the pasta nor the pizza were convincing. Positive aspects include the option to take water from the tap and the friendly staff. Nevertheless, the negative points outweigh the negatives. The atmosphere is cool and loud, the food hardly deserves mention, the service is slow, and the prices are comparatively high. All in all, there is little incentive to visit this restaurant. I can't find any convincing reasons to come here.

Cool italian place right beside the station. Pizza was flavorful and the thin crust was great. Pistachio gelato was also very good 😋. It took too long to serve the gelato though, one of the waiters probably forgot but otherwise I had great service from them (I arrived before peak dinner time)

The pizzas actually weren't bad at all. But as many have already noticed, the service is incredibly poor and the staff is just plain unfriendly. The problem has been known for a long time and it is obvious that the operators don't care at all. There are many good pizzerias in Zurich, best to avoid this place.

This place is very easy to get to next to the station. Outdoor seating is available with a nice atmosphere in the back, but it is a bit louder with the train tracks. Food was great but service was bad as we waited over an hour to get our meals. Maybe it was just an off night but I will not be in a rush to going back

ROSSO to the last. The overly friendly, casual service also puts pressure on our stomachs when we have to wait 30 minutes for the starters and another 50 minutes for the pizzas and main courses! “Don’t you know Rosso?” we District 5 veterans are asked, “Waiting is part of it.” It's a shame for the fine cuisine, no excuse for the "impolite" service and the far too long waiting times. But nonetheless: the Rosso is definitely suitable as a money-making machine, even if we and our friends will never sit here again.

We waited for one and a half our for our dinner! Not even a café for apologie. Very sad after all those years....

We spontaneously visited the restaurant as a couple and were able to sit down at our table after a quick glass of refreshing rosé. The atmosphere was welcoming and the service was excellent. But the real highlight of our visit was without a doubt the pizza. She was simply sensational! The perfect balance between crispy dough and fresh, high-quality ingredients. A culinary delight that we won't soon forget. The Rosso definitely convinced us and we can recommend it to everyone. However, a little tip: If you want to come with a larger group, we recommend that you reserve in advance to make sure there is enough space for everyone. All in all, a wonderful evening in an excellent restaurant. We will certainly come back!

Our server, Vera, was attentive and friendly. The pizzas are impressively large and the tiramisu is an absolute delight. Highly recommended!

The food and vibe here is very nice my only complaint is the service and how long it takes for the food to come out. The waitresses/waiters are very friendly but the food just takes ages to come out even if it’s not busy. I ordered fish and by the time it came out I wasn’t even hungry anymore. I think it took nearly an hour for everyone to get their dishes. My colleagues unfortunately did not like their food as much as I did. I personally would not come back here again.

A great restaurant! Inconspicuous from the outside - but the food is brilliant! Large portions, changing menu and fresh products. We don't cook with ready-made products here, so the price-performance ratio is right for me.

Food was good and some of the staff members were also nice, but the manager was very grumpy and unfriendly They also have this policy that you can only be seated to the table by the manager so if he is away, just wait there until he comes back while everyone else just ignore you..great way to start the evening!

Most condescending waiters I’ve ever seen

Average food… bread was bought in nearby coop, pizza dough was awful - over-dried and without taste. The prices were very high, should be a lot lower if we take into consideration their services and the quality of their food. I don’t recommend it.

Great pizzas, friendly staff. The kitchen was closed on a Wednesday around 22:00 as many restaurants in the area, pizza cook still tossing dough, though. They seem to become patio nightclubs more than restaurants. A glass was placed at my table, after reading other reviews, it seems water is either self service where the carafes are on the wall, or they want you to order bottled. Afterwards, an older man arrived, and didn’t like the table they suggested, and he sat at the other end of mine. He ordered something in German. They brought him bread, subsequently a plate of something arrived (I guess it was cold requiring no preparation). While I ate my pizza he didn’t touch his food except for bread. Several veg pizza choices including one without cheese. Complete wine/beer/bar list. Several outdoor dining patios on various levels, the occasional train screeching by reminds you of the industrial origins of West Zürich. Inside I could imagine it very busy on weekends. Chill upbeat music, football table. Bathrooms are downstairs so not easily accessible. Funky graffiti and stickers give it a bit of an underground vibe. I would return earlier to try some of the other menu items.

A real hidden gem, a bit of a hunt for the front door. But when inside the atmosphere was great. Only surpassed by the food, one of the best pizzas I have ever had.

The service was very friendly. The pizzas, however, were unfortunately so-so, far too expensive for the high price. Not recommended - unfortunately! The ravioli, on the other hand, was fine.

We chose this restaurant based on a recommendation. Unfortunately, the pizzas were pretty burnt and the ambience next to the smoking fireplace wasn't that great. It is very noisy when there are a lot of guests and the service wasn't the best either. We probably just got the wrong day. We'll be back and then I'd like to be able to write a better review. Update 01.04.23: rated 3 years ago, today there is a new rating for yesterday evening. Competent, attentive service and the food was tasty! The restaurant was full, but the staff tried to spontaneously assign us a seat. Tip top! We will be back!

The food seems great but we left after ordering drinks. The service is absolutely horrible. They have no idea what customer service means, and I’m far from being a Karen. It seems like you are doing them a favour to dine in their precious bunker.

Really great restaurant to eat well at a reasonable price and great service. Keller even picked us up from outside while we were smoking because the main course was ready to eat. Cocktail was very tasty, but a bit small for gin. Vino went great with the main course (waiter's recommendation), thanks for that. It's rather simple, cozy, but a little loud when everyone is talking, which didn't bother me a little. Right next to the Hardbrücke a top destination for meeting people you know. The braised meat was very tender, the fork was enough ;) I would be happy to come back and can only recommend it. Not fine dining but super tasty and great price for what you get :) n good

The worst service I’ve ever experienced! We even didn’t wait for food. Only had our drink and left. Never happened to me before. Gray, short hair waitress with glasses was super rude! Never come again! Costumer service is disaster. Manager even didn’t come to apologize, so waitress as well, only when I told her directly that we leave because of her behavior, was “I said sorry, ok?”. I’ve traveled 30 countries and visited multiple restaurants, but this happened to me first time.

Quick summary: Awful host, nice food - read below for the details Was there one Thursday night with a friend without a reservation. We went to the door, to the host (glasses, man-bun, really unhappy vibe) who was extremely rude, looked through us with huge attitude and seemingly inner rage and didn't react whatsoever to us, even though my friend (native Swiss German speaker) had greeted him with a smile and he heard/saw us. He just walked away to do something and came back very reluctantly and slowly and seemed super annoyed by our existence. My friend then asked for a table and he abruptly told us to go on a shared table (to find it by ourselves) and suddenly turned his back on us, so we went by ourselves to try and find where we could sit. However, the wait staff who looked after us was really really lovely and kind and we had nice antipasti and pizzas were really good. During the meal a friend contacted me & wanted to join us so we asked the waiter, she was really nice and set a place and told us no problem. However the host came to us and started doing something with the table settings. We told him a friend was joining and he said extremely angrily and rudely that we should have told him this when we arrived. We mentioned that we had already checked with his super nice colleague, and she had said it's no problem at all. Instead of apologising or saying something nice he just grunted rudely at us and walked off. My friend arrived and we ordered more wine and some great tiramisu, so good we had one each in the end. So a great place overall with one rude as hell host who has turned local potential regulars into "never again" once off customers. I get it we all have bad days but I've worked in the service industry myself all through university and you just don't treat people like this!

Always varied Italian-Swiss food. What comes to your plate is sustainably made from the best far and wide. From cheap pizza at the bar to top wine by the fireplace, everything is available. Don't let the serving staff brush you off 🙃, they are simply very demanding and have high performance requirements... Then it will be unforgettable!

Small, fine menu, i.e. everything promises to be fresh. Pizza is fine if you like a thin, crispy base and don't necessarily need the Neapolitan version with a bubbled edge. If you like industrial chic, it's excellent. From the outside it looks like an anti-social demolition shack + the surroundings are anything but inviting. But inside, despite the large factory hall + every last seat was full, surprisingly pleasant. Friendly staff!!

New York style combined with Zurich's crusty friendliness. The menu is more hip than original. The new touch on classic dishes needs more culinary courage. Crème Catalan with rosemary e.g. is like adding a ukulele to a big band: No one minds it, but no one would miss it either. All the food is very tasty though. So let your chefs loose!

Top 3 restaurants in all of Zurich.

Unfriendly service is the rule, not the exception. Small portions, high prices, mediocre pizza. At lunchtime you are sat shoulder to shoulder with strangers at the same table. Not recommended, there are really better ones in the area.

Actually really better than before: pizza only partially burnt and really well topped. Service was also ok (only asked twice for espresso and twice for the bill). As always, the atmosphere was great, so the waiting time was entertaining.

The food was very tasty 🤤 the restaurant is exceptional. Sometimes it's a bit chilly 🥶 because the insulation is poor due to the old windows. But that's exactly what has charm. Will come again.

The food could have been better, and the waiter was friendly, but it took way too long, and they were seriously understaffed. The Wine is good, and prices are pretty hefty for what they offer. Ambiente is cool. There are just way better places around town then Rosso. It used to be better in the past.

The food was very good. Unfortunately it was too dark in the restaurant to see exactly what was on the plate. In addition, the noise level was so high that a conversation between four people was not possible. I was really surprised that music (?) was also being played. It is clear that a former industrial location has acoustic peculiarities. But you could reduce the noise a little with a little use (foam on the chair seats).

Incredibly expensive for what you get! I had the osso buco...ridiculously expensive for what you get! I simply CANNOT RECOMMEND IT.

The pizzas are definitely delicious (even if the marinara with anchovies is too salty). The mood is generally good, just - it's SO LOUD, you can barely hold a conversation and the waitresses and waiters barely understand what you're saying - the host at the reception (square glasses and tied blonde hair) wouldn't crack a smile if he smiled; a slightly friendlier welcome would be nice
