Very friendly boss! The view is very beautiful! I wasn't so happy with the food; it was too expensive and not that nice. No vegetarian menu at lunchtime, I don't think that's good.

The view is always impressive, but today I would rather talk about the food and the service. Both were great, the food was prepared from fresh ingredients and was very tasty, the service was very friendly and attentive. We'll definitely come back.

Mixed impression. Service was generally friendly but a bit stressful. 2 portions of fries were received rather lukewarm. Prices for a “mountain pub” are ok (the “mountain” can also be reached by car, so no expensive rail transport of food!) Napkins were literally thrown at us, that's not possible. Spontaneously called by the nickname, which was again nice. All in all, not really a recommendation, but if you want to stop by for a bit, it's totally fine.

We ordered cordonbleu, salmon steak, the food was very good. The new tenant and the staff are very friendly.

Just come here for the view. Salad drowned in the ready-made dip, cherry cake had to go back to the kitchen - still frozen inside, filling tipped into the sour.

There is no better restaurant with a perfect view around Lake Zug

New owner/tenant. We had penne and fish. Both very good. The kitchen is open continuously. We'll definitely come back. The ambience can still be improved a bit.

Once and never again! An employee of the team completely freaked out, chairs were knocked over in the restaurant while cursing loudly and porcelain was thrown into the kitchen, after which things escalated completely. We were looking forward to some warm tea and cake and then something like that. NO THANKS!

One star for service. Unfortunately the service as such is not available. After 30 minutes of being ignored, we learned that there was an hour wait for food.

We wanted to enjoy a dessert on Sunday but were ignored even though the waiter walked past us 6 times with his head bowed. However, we weren't the only ones who felt that way. It's a shame. After 15 minutes we ignored it and the restaurant was almost empty we went back...

The food was OK, not bad, but not great either. We were registered as a group and pre-ordered two starters and two main courses each. We waited almost 2 hours for the food! Even the two small children in our group were not served until we asked. There were 3 groups and a few individual guests in the restaurant. So it wasn't nearly full. The waiting time is far too long and is even more surprising.

We enjoyed a very nice evening in the Zugerberg restaurant. The view and sunset were very beautiful. The food was delicious, the portions perfect. It was a shame that the children didn't get anything to paint with. But there was also a scoop of ice cream and a lollipop with the children's menu. Very nice service! 👌🏼☺️ All in all great and highly recommended!

Stunning view for our meal atop Zugerberg. The curry soup was exceptionally good. Delightful server - this restaurant is under new management.

In me and my mom's opinion the food was absolutely amazing. My mom had a pork slices and potato salad and i had a pasta in mushroom sauce with venison filets. We both loved the food and the waitress was patient with the two dumb Americans who barely knew any of the local language. We didn't have to wait long for our food but no matter how long we were made to wait the view out the window had a wonderful sight of the lake.

Chaos in operation. After repeated requests and an extremely long waiting time, the order comes in a step-by-step and uncoordinated manner.

Not a busy day but there was quite a wait for food. We were a reserved table of 5. Quite a small portion of seasonal veg. on my plate, more like garnish than veg. serving. Red wine was very nice but served chilled?? A top up of water was requested three times before a small carafe was served. Coffees came first then a wait for desserts with the last being served when the two others had finished theirs. Rating the whole experience:- the start was perfect and then started to fall off when a large group of walkers arrived. They had also reserved a table too. Their order was taken after ours but they had left before we had received our first desserts.

On Saturday we were in the newly opened restaurant Zugerberg. Beautiful ambience. “Simply World Class” service. The food was very good. And, well, there's hardly anything to say about the view, weather permitting. Beautiful sunset. Highly recommended.

After a nice hike, we wanted to stop here for a coffee and a dessert. The coffee was lousy. My partner told me she wanted a nut croissant. The condition (perhaps the boss, in the gilet) said in a very gruff and unfriendly tone as he passed by: We don't have any more! Well, if you can't be halfway friendly. We then skipped dessert and paid for the watery but more expensive coffee. No more.

Very nice views. We were missing an outdoor terrace, all was covered with glass. Nice to be protected from the cold.

Just a quick stop at the restaurant. A Café Creme and a Vermicelles. So tasty and served in a friendly manner by the waiter. A MUST not only if you missed the Zugerbändli. Thank you for allowing us to stop by.

The Ticino fondue was super delicious.

A little touristy, but good food and a very nice view from the restaurant at the top of the funicular. I used this as my base of operations for a hike around Zugerberg, with a coffee and a pastry at the start of my hike, and a beer and sausage at the end.

I'm already looking forward to reopening after covid

The waitress was under a lot of stress and her boss wasn't very helpful. The serving daughter was great and very, very friendly

I had lunch with my little son (2) after visiting the playground. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The lunch menus are well selected and have good portions. We were super satisfied. Changing table is available in the basement, but outside the toilets, probably for reasons of space. That was a bit special because people were constantly walking past.

Good coffee, nice dessert/cake selection. The service was a bit relaxed but nothing dramatic. Clear recommendation!

We ate here as a family with our little daughter, the employees were super friendly to us and the little one. The food is very good and there are no long waiting times. Even the children's food we brought with us was washed up, great. There was a "problem" when paying, unfortunately postcards are not accepted (as the only card)... The problem was solved in a very humane and uncomplicated manner (many thanks for that). Friendliness and humanity are very important here!

There is a menu with fondue outside. We wanted to eat fondue, but the waitress said there is no fondue now because you and the chef are alone. There were 4 other people in the restaurant. There won't be a lot of activity on Monday afternoon at 2 p.m.?

They did not have fresh Orange natural Juice from the fruit.

It's good, especially after we've cycled. But I feel like I'm buying the same fresh pasta at my supermarket.

Mega view, great trail, hiking opportunities and more....but the best thing is the restaurant at the station above😋😋😋 Fish crispy and goat's milk ice cream...the salad is super fresh and the soups are not a finished product 💖🔥✨👍👏👏👏 You should rest there and enjoy ❗❗❗

The Zugerberg is simply great for everyone. For athletes (mountain bikers/skaters/joggers/hikers etc.) and for those who simply want to enjoy a bit of sun with a fine ice cream! Liked and great and there is always something to discover for children too😊👌👍

The food was very good, but the prices were a bit high. Compared to other "mountain restaurants". But the view makes up for that too ;-)

Beautiful hiking trails also for strollers. Good signage, easy to find your way around. I would like more narrow paths - unfortunately we mostly walked on streets. Mass tourism - there were a lot of people on the paths

A short ride with the funicular takes you to a beautiful hiking area. In the rest at the mountain station, friendly staff and a good selection of food

The Zugerberg is a great local recreation area. Not far from Zurich and easily accessible by public transport.

I was there with my dogs. The staff was very accommodating and very nice. The order was taken and processed quickly, the food delivered was very good and delicious 😉 There was also a drinking bowl and a little petting for the dogs. We were able to enjoy our stay very much because the restaurant is animal friendly and also very well located

Beer was cold. The service too. I have never been ignored so often in an almost empty restaurant (approx. 15 people) (7 times the service lady walked past us about 50cm without a word). Tip: 0 CHF

Waitresses unpleasant. Only a few tables were occupied, but the waitress came by five times before asking what we wanted. Unfortunately, for very nice seating...
