Delicious! Fresh juicy steak cooked to perfection. Staff very attentive, nice and competent compliment. Gladly again!

The atmosphere is very nice and pleasant, but the service was quite unmotivated and seemed very stressed. Beef entrecote medium was ordered, but nothing was medium. The meat was so through, you almost couldn't cut through it. Maybe it was because no steak knife was served. We also had to wait a long time for the food and the bill. Overall disappointing, remembered the restaurant better.

Offers various lunch menus with salad or soup - there is something for every taste. Special mention should be made of the various menus with seafood such as pulpo etc. Unfortunately, these days, even at Italian restaurants, they are not that common anymore. Unfortunately, my portion of piccata came with very little spaghetti. The service was really “Italianita”, very friendly & attentive and prompt. The restaurant is inviting. Lovely again

You really can't complain about the food and ambience, no question about it. But without meaning any offense, the service today wasn't particularly nice. Starter everything was fine, then I ordered a Cesar salad, it came without toasted bread cubes - no problem in that sense, then I said something, even had to show it on the menu, then the cubes came but not toasted. Ok, I thought, no matter, leave it, everything is fine. Then order the dessert, I ordered 2 scoops of ice cream with cream. What did I get? Shock cake with a scoop of ice cream. Of course I was asked if I should replace it, but to be honest, before it was thrown away or something else, I ate it. Well then it was time to pay, good thing you can forget about it because there was a lot going on and that wasn't a problem. But after you first talked to someone and then went to the next table, it was enough again. Until you realized there was something... no apology either, I forgot or something... we asked if we could pay it separately, they said yes. Then I gave her the bill and then it just came back with an undertone of yes, great… good, so I took the bill back and we had to add it up ourselves. Honestly, I'm happy to tip if you're nice and everything else goes well. But the main course was missing something, then the wrong dessert and not even an apology was heard... then there was the bill... then I added up my part and showed her the total on my cell phone and then the question comes: "and how much do you pay?" “… yes, how much? accurate to the cent. At least one I'm sorry, at the latest after the wrong dessert would have been appropriate in my opinion, or at the latest because we had to wait a while again after the "can we please pay"... but no, then things got worse. So generally a nice atmosphere and the food was delicious, but I don't feel like going there again... sorry

Fine food at midday with various lunch menus in different price ranges. The staff is very friendly and attentive.

Three of us were there last week. The ambience is basically okay, but unfortunately it's far too loud overall, which is why I'm deducting 2 stars here. The service person who took our order seemed very unmotivated and disinterested. Furthermore, she left us in the middle of taking the order to ask a new guest about the reservation. That's not possible, so here too: 3 stars deducted. But the worst was the main course: a companion and I both ordered a fillet of beef and vegetables as a side dish. The meat was excellent, as were the vegetables. But the latter consisted of half a mushroom, 2 slices of zucchini and 2 small slices of eggplant - so a measly portion. Unfortunately, I left the restaurant hungry.

I've known Acquarello for a few years and for me it was a top address for Italian cuisine in St. Gallen until before Corona. It had a dignified atmosphere and was also very pleasant in terms of the room layout and the arrangement of the tables with the planted dividing modules. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case and it has mutated into an unspectacular dining restaurant. What used to be a highlight with the fine pizzas has now gone far away. Rectangular pizza shapes on rectangular plates, well, ...but unfortunately the thickness of the once so delicate pizzas has drifted more towards pizza bread, especially since it also tasted very dry. I complained about this and they made it clear to me that they wanted to move away from the pizzeria image and rather offer other fine dishes. Looking at the neighboring plates, it also looks very promising...unfortunately I can't rate it in terms of taste yet. On the other hand, the tiramisu was world class! The staff left a good and very friendly impression and you are greeted and greeted personally.

Super inexpensive but still very tasty lunch for under 20 CHF. Without a reservation, just with luck. Service was very nice, but a bit chaotic that day. But food came super quickly. As soon as we ordered, the side salad was already on the table. The lunch menu includes soup or salad. The pizza was really delicious.

Are you looking for a specific dish you couldn’t find anywhere else in the city? - You might want to go there. Any other situation? - I can confidently say you will find a better bang for your buck in St.Gallen.

Despite a Saturday evening without a reservation, they managed to find us a small place. The staff are very friendly and the food sumptuous. I highly recommend the pasta which is cooked to perfection and very well executed. The portions are very generous. We will return with our eyes closed

From the starter to the wine. Everything was perfect. The meat was perfectly prepared and the starter was perfect for two people. The dessert blew me away and the wine was delicious too. I discovered this place by chance with my husband, but we found our favorite place. I will happily make the journey from Germany to come here regularly. Thanks for the service, super nice and attentive, not intrusive. Great atmosphere and the wine cellar on the way to the toilets speaks for itself. 👍🏼

My favorite restaurant in St. Gallen because of the very, very fine food, the pleasant working atmosphere with the friendly, attentive employees. The amiable boss Nino characterizes this warm hospitality. From the starter to the dessert, everything is delicious. I always enjoy the careful and attractive presentation of the food, it's always a feast for the eyes!

The facility doesn't invite you to linger. It is very dark, the staff is not friendly at all and chewing gum is not possible. The food was very good. The selection is large.

The service was chaotic and very slow. The food was ok but not according to the price. After the starter we were asked if we wanted to wait for the main course, we said no, but it took over half an hour until 4 of 5 main courses were served. After another 10 minutes the last one arrived. The lemon schnitzel wasn’t “lemony” enough and the noodles were cold! Although the staff was friendly, the service was not very attentive. The order for another bottle of mineral water was forgotten. Water and wine were spilled when pouring! And much more Unfortunately not the best experience 😞

I indicated a food allergy when ordering my food and was guaranteed that my meal could be prepared without this ingredient. When the food arrived, I was again verbally confirmed that my order had been prepared without this ingredient. It was only after a few bites that I realized that my food actually contained the allergen. The answer I got was that the restaurant thought the pastry would taste better with the allergen in question. I am very disappointed as I have always found the food and service in this restaurant to be very good.

Attractive ambience - large, open, bright and pleasant acoustics despite many guests. First impression: the chairs were full of bread crumbs (...I suspect that they got there from cleaning the table...), my water glass had "a corner off" and didn't look so "trustworthy" on the small white service table plate There were still a few bits of leftover food to be seen (...the dishwasher probably didn't make it...), otherwise everything was very clean and tidy. Big praise to the service staff: very friendly and attentive, all of our wishes were generously addressed. The food was very good: attractively prepared, large portions (salads fresh and crunchy). The menu requires a longer period of study as it is very extensive - there is something for everyone. Price-performance ratio is justified - waiting time after ordering is okay, considering that freshly prepared dishes take a little longer. Would come again.

We took a mystery meal set for about 59 chf/ each and was pleasantly surprised when the dishes arrived. We had baked scallop and squid salad for starters, then some truffle cream pasta and finally some meat. The service was great despite the place being so busy (it was Valentines day).

Unfortunately, our reservation (with appointment confirmation reminder) was apparently forgotten. We first had to wait "two minutes" for our table and sit at the bar. The two of them turned into 10 minutes before we were shown to a table that was improvised in the hallway. The food portions were of normal size, although small portions were required (food waste). We had to wait a long time to pay, which is why the appointment after lunch was tight.

Best Italian cuisine in all of St. Gallen! Everything freshly prepared.

Unfortunately, mistakes happened during our visit that shouldn't have happened. Long waiting times for the food, then the wrong Pinsa was delivered to my companion, but was immediately taken back and replaced. In my case, a pizza was delivered instead of a Pinsa. Due to the delivery delay, this was also delivered cold to my companion and the special request (no zucchini) was also not taken into account. The taste of the food was okay to good. The most positive thing was the extremely friendly staff, who offered to replace or warm up the pizza. Otherwise, I unfortunately cannot recommend the Acquarello.

The food is excellent, but rightly so at a price.

Basically a very nice place! The ambience is quite upscale and very chic but also very dark! Unfortunately, we had the unpleasant experience that it was ice cold in the restaurant itself, so cold that we had to resort to jackets! The food looked incredibly well prepared, the taste was nothing as there was no taste at all. Our food was then exchanged after which it was seasoned much better, but now it wasn't up to par and extremely peppery! The service staff really have to be praised, they are very attentive to every request and always very friendly! Basically very good, maybe we just had a bad day I can't say whether I would try it again because the prices are very high and the taste wasn't convincing!

Local is absolutely recommended. You can feel the Italianita. The quality of the food is good and so is the ambience. Since the restaurant is well booked, just take enough time. Bravo to the whole staff, especially the kitchen!

At first everything was good. After the starter we waited at least 40 minutes for the next course. Our wine order was forgotten and my partner's pasta arrived cold 😑 It was then brought back to the kitchen and warmed up. Pasta was generally okay. The food is almost always very good and the portions are large. The large selection at lunch is particularly worth mentioning, but unfortunately there is no vegetarian selection. Now to the less laudable points. The entrance is the official smoking area of ​​the restaurant (or the entire building?). Not really pleasant to push through or say hello/goodbye. The aesthetic - as we know, the eye is involved - has a certain potential for optimization. The edge of a soup bowl should not be greasy or dirty. And when the waitress's black apron is already massively dirty by 11:30 a.m., you can't imagine anything else. I mean, you can quickly tell from the crew at a bar what the working atmosphere is like. It doesn't seem to be the best here. Staff have been reprimanded by their boss in front of customers on several occasions. The last time even involved a lot of tears. In a fully occupied restaurant. As I said: 5 stars would be possible.

Unfortunately, the dessert I ordered didn't arrive, but it was on the bill. After I brought this to the attention of the waitress, it was canceled. It's a shame, but that can happen. We'd love to come back.

Kitchen is irregular. If there are no mussels left, the risotto simply has 1 instead of 3. Beef fillet is getting smaller and smaller, and the goose liver on it is so tiny, you could eat it in 1 bite. Driven 45 minutes to eat there, but the specially reserved table (4 days before!) was already taken...

1 star for the friendly and professional staff. The room became completely overcrowded. During the course of the evening, decorations were even pushed out to squeeze in even more tables. The result was that it became cramped and very loud. Bruscette was overly toasted, was like crispbread and lacked garlic. Reason: there was once a complaint about the garlic. I would have advised the person to choose a dish without garlic if I didn't like it. Unfortunately, they chose the option so that everyone who likes garlic can no longer have it on their bruscette. The spaghetti alle vongole was missing the tomatoes that were supposed to be there according to the menu, the mussels were completely overcooked, and the whole dish was dry and tasteless. The pasta for the spaghetti all limone tasted like cardboard and there wasn't much of a taste of lemon either. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the kitchen. We ended up skipping dessert.

You start with the good: The gnocchi tasted really good. But that was it. The tartare I was accompanying was unseasoned and had probably been put through a meat grinder. The other companion ordered strozzapretti, first got gnocchi and then discovered gnocchi on the plate while eating. Probably means the plate wasn't actually replaced. When we came we were given a used ashtray with smoked cigarette butts. The table was still dirty – traces of ash and grease. When serving, the ashtray and candle were literally slammed onto the table. Even when we asked for pepper and salt, the service staff was on their cell phones and half-heartedly slammed the mills on the table without making eye contact. The mussels in the strozzapretti were chopped and shattered - shells in the pasta. For this price, none of this is justified. We also had to wait almost 30 minutes for the food - after ordering. Service inattentive and slightly overwhelmed, food not up to expectations, price/performance ratio not justified at all. Once is not a time - but there is no second chance to make a first impression.

Great restaurant.. Delicious starters, delicious antipasti, and the FOOD is excellent.. The desserts are heavenly and tempting.. The staff is mega, nice, helpful and extremely friendly.. I had a tuna steak, which I can recommend to everyone.. As a fish lover I can say it was one of the best tuna steaks I have eaten in my life.. Simply heavenly.. One of the world's best Italian restaurants where I have eaten.. Thank you

Service staff wear their face masks on their chins instead of over their mouths and noses and the order for the main course was lost in the kitchen. Well, time to wake up from the Covid torpor 🤷🏻‍♂️ The staff's statement “mistakes can happen in the kitchen” doesn't qualify. Unfortunately, this cannot be saved by offering a drink and an appetizer.

The menu today (schnitzel with ham and cheese in pepper cream sauce) was bombastic. There's now a whopping 5 stars for this. Keep it up!
