Natural and healthy food, vegan. Recommended for breakfast, lunch, snack and healthy juices/drinks. It doesn't close late. It has few tables. The dishes are quite small for the prices they have (13-25chf). Croissant 3chf, Cappuccino 5.7chf (2024).

It was nice and relaxing to go early in the morning. The food was made on the spot, healthy and delicious. Highly recommended for breakfast in Zurich.

The roots restaurant offers to my surprise a "Palestine sandwich"!!, that's right! a political sandwich, nothing about Israel! How trendy supporting terror is! 🤮 stay away if you're Jewish we don't feel so welcome🤮

Wonderful late lunch here today. The autumn salad was delicious! Only comment is that the coffees were not hot enough despite asking for this….

No options for savory breakfast here besides the all-tiring avocado toast. Asked the server for a tasty coffee drink, gave an example of a vanilla latte, he said it’s not Starbucks. I found their server to be quite rude and instead of making me some suggestions on the menu and finding what would work for me, he was pretty much talking me out of it. I ended up going to a different place instead.

Went here for pancakes but unfortunately those are only available on the weekends. Had an acai bowl instead and it was so good! Also had a macacao latte which was nice but I would prefer it to be a little stronger. Service was really nice and welcoming.

I really enjoyed going there so I could drink a ginger shot in the morning... they haven't accepted cash for some time now... I'm very disappointed... because I ONLY pay with cash. Now I'm no longer a customer there. Dr. Vera Gojic

The food was really tasty and I guess not so expensive for Zurich.

I would say that it is an affordable place where you can eat healthy and the portions (at least in salads) are abundant, despite being vegetables it will fill your stomach. The atmosphere is very dull, it is not a place to go to talk and in fact it is very small, but it is not uncomfortable either. The only "but" I have is that they do not accept cash. This is a food chain that should be given a chance, I would eat there again.

This delightful vegan restaurant is just a walk away from zurich main station, and I highly recommend for foodies. Every dish served was equally mouth watering but daal especially stole my heart. It was so delicious and authentic in swiss restaurant, just impressive. And the super friendly staff made the experience more memorable, especially for my parents as they are not fluent in english. I guess she was a student, but really kind and helped my parents with itinerary. Thanks a ton❤️

Nice spot for a quick snack. Almost everything on the menu is vegan and the meals are well thought-out and tasty. The joint has in- and outdoor seating. We had Quinoa Tofu bowls with hummus, avocado and cashew-milk sauce.

Oh my YUM. This was a great relaxing brunch location for us on a hot day in Zurich. I had the Avocado toast, cappuccino and a ginger ice tea after. My friend had the weekend pancakes and couldn’t stop talking about how good they were. On top of that the staff was so great. Highly recommend whether you’re vegan or not!

The food is good! What's really annoying: Everything in English...!!! ??? We are in Switzerland!!! This common wish: “We are so casual and international…” is completely wrong! Stand up for where you are! In Switzerland! And not in NY and not in Hong Kong and not in London!

Was so good for our first visit we came back a second time for the weekend breakfast pancakes. 10/10! The oat milk lattes were perfectly made and the staff were super friendly and kind to make a very relaxing and pleasant atmosphere inside. Would definitely return again when in Zurich next time, a must visit for anyone who enjoys carefully crafted food and coffee.

The restaurant is very bright and modern. I came around prime lunch time and it was so busy! The service was quick, and everything was made to order at the counter. Thankfully, it was nice outside and they had patio seating! The food itself was good, but I think it was a bit pricy for the portion size.

The vegan croissant was a great surprise, rich and quite flakey, basically like a good traditional croissant. Impressive feat with no butter!

Best vegan place I've found in Zürich so far. I only had the avocado toast and a cold killer tea but they were both delicious! And the tea was actually strong and tasty. Definitely reccomend. Not that expensive compared to other places.

One of my favourite Breakfast, Brunch or Lunch spots in Zürich. Plenty of vegan options, too. I love their avocado toasts and protein bowls, also have really good coffee with diverse milk alternarives. Some optione, e.g., Pancakes are only available on Weekends. The Avocade Toasts are my favourite!

Delicious smoothies and pancakes. Location at the BHF would be great, but it's too small inside and there are always loud sleighs driving through outside. The service was a bit overwhelmed with 6 customers...

I lived in Zurich for almost 3 years, and that place is what I miss the most about the city. The Balboa shake is unreal.

Today 11/26/22/09:45, catastrophic service, order Latte Machiatto and receive a mini espresso. Waiting time 7 minutes for a coffee to go...staff overwhelmed with seven guests at that time. You are not allowed to discuss things with the employees until you point out the mistake, very aggressive and bossy behavior, especially the gentleman. He said they don't have Latte Machiatto on offer anymore...but I've had lattes in the restaurant a few times. If you don't feel like working, then you should stay at home.

I paid a huge bill for no flavours The bread of the sandwich was not fresh. The smoothies, one fruit and the other protein shake, were tasteless. I know Zürich standards are high but I would have preferred to enjoy my lunch. One star is hard but it describes my experience here. Besides that, the personel is kind and caring.

As regular customers we obviously love Roots. We do however find that especially Saturday morning the staff is regularly overwhelmed by the people arriving between 9-10 am. Twice we were there when the delivery arrived just at 9am, when the restaurant would be open and accepting orders. This means that the staff (usually only 2 people) frantically need to unpack and are unable to take and fulfil orders. The staff are doing an amazing job and are trying to do their best but the circumstances seem not to be in their favour. We understand that the customer number is fluctuating early Saturday morning, but for example today when we arrived at 9.30 there were already 9 tables with 2 people there.

Had the most amazing breakfast here. Was in a rush to catch a train, came early and they were open before the official opening hour. Had the pancakes with pomegranate seed topping and carrot ginger juice. Everything was so delicious and prepared quickly. Highly recommend and would come again :)

Had their quinoa bowl. Great that they have healthy but also tasty options like this. Worth a try if you like healthy food and/or are looking for vegan options.

The food and the staff were top. Given the ambience, outside on the street, with the garbage collection passing by several times, I would rather sit inside in the future, although it can get tight with 5 people. Unfortunately it's Zurich in terms of price, so a summer bowl, or as it used to be called "salad" costs 23CHF.

During my visit, I experience good customer service. This is the first eatery I've come to in Zurich which has a Vegan protein shake option! The Balboa Power tastes earthy, not sweet, is fluffy, and filling. The Palestine Sandwich is really good and the flavoring is earthy (not like nasty tasting dirt, like truly healthy dirt, a good example of what good dirt might taste like on Earth). The flavors seem to taste very natural and are not overwhelming.

Only had an espresso here; extremely friendly service!

Amazing tasty and healthy food. Had the summer bowl and daal. Was in Zurich for a few hours and wanted to find somewhere vegan. This cafe is 5min walk from the main station. There are other branches in Zurich as well. Really lovely atmosphere and nice people.

Super nice little cafe to have Sunday brunch at. I liked that they had cold brew and flat whites as part of their coffee menu. They had a range of different seating options (indoor, outdoor, bar tables), and it was pleasant to see that the restrooms were assessible for disabled people too.

High quality vegan menu with friendly service and nice ambiance, music and very clean. #rootsandfriends only a five minute walk from the main Zürich train station. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. I’d highly recommend stepping out of the station to enjoy a bite here rather than pay more for less inside the station. Great place! Try the Protein bowl.
