This is the Lobhornhütte in winter. A very nice experience and recommended for everyone. Whether 'just' for coffee and (amazing) cake or for an overnight stay. The food is very good and the team, with Christine as the driving force, is unbeatable. I'll be back!

Mandatory reservation for spending the night at the Lobhornhutte.Ypu can reserve at the website of the Swiss alpine club (SAC). The hike can start from Suwald (1550M). Park your car in Ilsefluh,and take the Luftseilbahn Ilsefluh Suwald (LIS). Follow the red/white striped route on the yellow signs saying Lobhornhutte. The hike should take about a hour and 15 min for most. Some steep parts,but nothing scary with cliffs. Many places to catch your breath and enjoy the lush mountain wood surrounding. Once you arrive at the Alpine farm, go right and follow the sign and red white trail for 15 min. Then you will see the Hütte. No access with a wheelchair,watch out for wet slippery rock parts.

Great hut to take a break during a walk through the beautiful surroundings. Simple hut with terrace but with fantastic views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. It's self-service but the people behind the bar are super nice.

I stayed at the hut for one night. A really great experience. The view is breathtaking, from Wetterhorn to Schreckhorn to the three, Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. We were accommodated in a separate house, which has two spacious warehouses and blankets are available. The food and breakfast were excellent and the team was super friendly.

Wir waren als Grossfamilie für eine Übernachtung das erste Mal in einer SAC hütte und es war fantastisch. Die Lage und der Ausblick, sowie das Seewli in der Nähe sind wunderschön. Die Hütte selber ist klein aber sehr gemütlich, die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich, liebevoll und aufmerksam. Wir fühlten uns rundum Wohl und sehr Willkommen. Auch das Essen wurde sehr fein zubereitet und auch reichlich. Wir würden sofort wieder kommen, werden nach diesem tollen Abenteuer aber gerne auch andere SAC hütten besuchen :)

Ueber Lage und Sicht brauche ich nicht zu schreiben, da gibts keine Worte die mächtig genug sind. Es war viel los an diesem Sonnentag, aber das Team hatte alles hervorragend im Griff. Essen und Trinken klappte tipptopp, wir konnten sogar und ohne Probleme eine Essensbestellung spät wechseln, einfach so. Wir gehen sicher wieder, dann mit Uebernachtung. Vielen Dank.

Die Hüttenwartin wirkt sehr angespannt und überhaupt nicht locker und einfach, wie es in den Bergen doch sein sollte und auch ihr Motto ist. Sie war sehr zynisch zu uns, man kam sich fast bevormundet vor, sie ging sehr erzieherisch mit uns um. Anstelle uns am anfang alle Covid 19 Regeln klar zu komunizieren stellte sie uns lieber blos. Es schien auch, als seien die anderen Gäste mehr wert als wir.Zum Abendessen gab es Cervelat und Salat, wusste man doch schon das es kaltes und nicht schönes Wetter sein wird. Eine warme Mahlzeit wäre angebracht gewesen. Salatbuffet!!! wenn man mit 7 Kindern herwandert ist nicht sonderlich kinderfreundlich. Zumal es doch kein Geheimnis ist das Kinder bei Salat nicht gleich ein Jubelschrei machen. Zudem waren die Cervelats nicht frisch sondern bereits für eine andere Mahlzeit auf dem Grill und wurden nur aufgewärmt. Gegrillt wurde von unseren Männer.
