Shlomo Baden - Res' Oriental in Baden

Authentic tasting, fresh and very delicious dishes. Been there for dinner with a friend, not planned, just seen the restaurant from outside. People looked happy - that’s the places you have to go. Few min later, enjoying my Hummus as a starter, I’ve been one of these happy lookin folks. Taste the mezze, ask the friendly waitresses for a recommendation, order a bottle of the great Libanesen wine and enjoy the time.

Authentic atmosphere, nice service, but unfortunately a very long wait for the food to arrive.

The food was good but it's disproportionate to the price, it's way too expensive. The service didn't work at all, everything was very hectic, which of course had an impact on the ambience. I normally never give such a bad rating but it was really extraordinary. I would love to come back and hope it will be a great experience

Very nice restaurant, unfortunately I didn't really like the food compared to others. Dumplings were very dry and you had to search for the meat. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio isn't right for the quality of the food, I think it's totally overpriced. It's a shame because the ambience is really great.

Although the food was excellent, we will not visit the restaurant again. After around 55 minutes after arriving and therefore shortly after the dinner had been cleared away, the money was collected, with the unmistakable request that the table be released.

The starters were delicious but the meat we ordered was raw, the lamb is good, but they have very few staff and they cannot serve all the tables on time between 2 waiters and a bartender, and the price was a bit high for them to charge me 52f per person plus the 2 companions each for 7.50f and they only came with 3 pieces of meat like a raw hamburger, a chicken skewer and a lamb skewer, which was good but a little raw .

I've eaten at this restaurant several times and I have to say it's always very good! The food is tasteful, I tried different menus and they were all perfect! The decor is impressively beautiful and oriental, and the entire team is very nice! I will definitely come again and recommend it to others.

Disappointing experience! During our visit to this supposedly luxurious restaurant, we were surprised when we were informed that the table was only reserved for one hour. This information was communicated unclearly on the website, as has already been criticized in previous reviews. Despite nine free tables, we surprisingly received the bill after an hour. Service is not at the expected level, although prices and ambience suggest an upscale restaurant. These deficiencies have already been criticized in previous assessments, but they still appear to be unresolved. This shows how little the management responds to customer reviews and has not yet taken adequate measures despite numerous criticisms.

I had been before and the treatment was good, on Saturday 1/6/2024 I returned so that my son, who likes to try new foods, could taste and so that we would be comfortable eating. I was surprised by the treatment because it seemed like we were begging for alms, it saddens me. From the experience I had, I realized that the other diners were asked how was the food, if they needed anything else and such (we couldn't order dessert, let alone coffee) because it was as if we weren't there. I certainly won't repeat

The room design, the dishes and the furniture go well with the oriental cuisine. We ordered the mezze variation. The falafel and batata hara are very good, the rest of the mezze is much too bland for my taste. The bread was not warm and not really fresh. You won't be able to eat anything while eating. The service was friendly, but unfortunately inattentive. Once you have ordered, no one takes care of the tables or any other concerns. It's a shame, it didn't convince me. It was my first and last visit.

Very friendly, pleasant, authentic, excellent oriental cuisine. The standard was consistent on each of our visits. The price is fair for this type of gastronomy and everything fits. We will be back.

Very nice restaurant, very nice atmosphere. The food tasted really good. The only thing we found negative was that we were asked to pay after about an hour because the table was then reserved. I don't think it's correct and you should have said that beforehand. Apparently there are two shift systems. But otherwise gladly again.

If I rate the food it’s a 5 shame that the waitress was always in a hurry and even a bit rude when we were asking for explanations of the menu, they gave us food that we didn’t order as well and when we payed we all agreed that the prices are too high. Nevertheless the food was good and the location is nice.

I was here for the second time today. Like the first time, everything was really great this time. This time the lamb chops in particular were MEGA!!! Service was very accommodating this time too and gave great tips

The 12 plate for 3 persons is a big portion. It can be shared by 4 or 5 persons.

We had dinner tonight. The waiter was excellent, suggested a Menü which was great, he was fantastic and the atmosphere was also great

Staff was still working. However, we were treated differently because we are a bit “younger” and were put in a place like you see in the photo, even though there were nicer and cleaner places. In addition, the spoon was completely dirty and the Redbull was also dirty and a little crushed. Not justified for the price and the conditions. Everyone should be treated equally.

The food is really very good! But you have to dig deep into your pockets, unfortunately too expensive for my standards. But if you can afford it, you will definitely love the food.

We have been to this restaurant many times. It is smartly furnished and is spacious. The mezze plate is very tasty and healthy. You could offer a healthier bread alternative, such as whole grain. For the main course we had the lamb chops, in my opinion it could have been a little spicier and a little warmer. The staff was friendly. The prices are quite high. The location right next to the parking garage is ideal.

For such a beautiful restaurant I am shocked at the quality of the food. Appetizers hot and cold came out within minutes and all of it was cold. Clearly nothing is made to order. The mains were okay at best. Such a shame as it is one if the most beautiful restaurants in the area. Cocktails are quite nice though.

I really expected more for these prices. Service mediocre to unsatisfactory. Food was good but price/performance just wasn't right.

3 people starter for 142 CHF and more dips than meat is completely exaggerated (3 small bowls with 3 pieces of meat each). Unfortunately, the staff didn't explain this to us in more detail when we ordered.

A bit expensive price performance

Mega fine dishes! Recommended especially at lunchtime. Unfortunately we had a rather uncomfortable evening… We made our reservations by phone two weeks in advance and were informed that we would arrive between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (due to the longer journey). As soon as we sat down, we were informed that the table had already been reserved at 8 p.m., even though the restaurant was half empty at the time. When asked if we could still eat comfortably, they said: Yes, if they order quickly. We ate the mixed grilled skewer, which was, as usual, very tasty. Unfortunately, the double cast doesn't exactly invite you to linger and consume more (we would have actually liked a dessert). Perhaps you can reconsider your communication/information regarding the time slot when making the reservation over the phone. Conclusion: very tasty food, poor time management, very expensive in the evening

I feel a little sorry for the people of Aargau :-/ This is considered a 'high-end' restaurant here. Not that I'm used to any award-winning restaurants, certainly not, but this place definitely can't keep up with its reputation. I won't go into all the points now, I'll just say: frozen wedges 🤦 yes, if you order potatoes, for example with lamb skewers, you can get potato wedges from the freezer. As a hobby chef, I can do everything else at least equally well. And I don't consider myself a good cook.

The atmosphere and the food are very good. There is a nice Lebanese offering in the “upscale area” nearby. Prices are rather high, staff are helpful, there is still potential for optimization in terms of customer orientation and demeanor

The mezze was delicious. The food ok. The service was very bad the woman was very rude! I would come again but after this service I am not coming again.

Unfortunately my experience today (visit around 7 p.m.) was very negative. When we asked about allergen labeling or ingredients due to gluten intolerance, the waitress who served us simply pointed to the menu with the note "it's all there." Unfortunately it doesn't. Unfortunately, descriptions like “beef, rice, sauce” don’t help you avoid gluten. It's a shame that the service staff doesn't have more knowledge about intolerances or would at least make the effort to ask knowledgeable colleagues in the service or directly in the kitchen.

A very pleasant local. It's maybe a bit dark but I think that creates a good atmosphere. Large selection of different oriental delicacies Such as mezze vegetarian and meat, shish in 3 types and kofta. The service is super friendly and the food came very quickly.

I'm sorry but that was it for our family. We wanted to surprise our daughter, who turned 18 that day. The place that was reserved days before was given to someone else. We had to eat halfway through at a table next to the bar, which was an absolute hassle. Watched by all the guests around. The prices are grossly overpriced. Lots of sauces, just one piece of meat for each person. That's not proportionate. A pity! We are disappointed and would have preferred to celebrate elsewhere.

Food is good but expected a little better taste for these prices. Nowhere does it say that you only have 2 hours to eat, suddenly the bill is brought to you without warning, if you don't pay straight away you are told to leave the restaurant because the table was reserved at 8 p.m.... eeeeeh wait, we had yes, reserved, but we still had to go.

The ambience is great and the service is very good, but the food is really overpriced. Price and performance definitely don't match here. Portions are too small for this price, side dishes for a grill plate for CHF 52.00 per person are not included and the grilled vegetables consist of top gins and zucchini. It's a shame, but definitely not worth the price.

The food is good. Location very good. But the waitress (older lady) is a complete disaster. Very unpleasant and you didn't feel comfortable at all. I wanted to pay and leave the restaurant as quickly as possible.

The food was good, but I expected more for the very high price. I especially found the grill plate for two people to be very expensive, 104 francs. for a chicken skewer, a beef skewer, 4 kofta, 3 small flatbreads, a small pointed pepper and 2 slices of zucchini, plus 7.50 francs. for a small bowl of rice and the same amount for a small bowl of fries. In addition, I strongly suspect that the homemade Ortiental iced tea in the small tin pot was hardly 5dl in size as stated, but I could also be mistaken.

A total of 120.-chf spent for 2 people and still hungry. A skewer and very little rice were 40.-chf. Even had a starter and still eat far too little for the money! I'll never come back

Well located (between Bahnhof West and Stadtturm) and well installed in the center of Baden, it is a great option. Lunch menus are good in terms of price and taste. The service is attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable. Worth a try.

The food is really good. I've been there four times now and have never been disappointed. But I find the service to be subpar. Every time I had the feeling that I was a commodity that was being fed, that I was supposed to leave a lot of money behind and then quickly disappear again to receive the next commodity. Conclusion: Very good oriental food at high prices and poor service

Nice setup, food was OK (not wow though). Very slow service despite having much personnel both in the kitchen and restaurant; unfortunately the waitress was not quite communicative. Schade

Sensational food. Great, friendly service. Unfortunately a bit loud, as the background music is already rather loud, all the guests speak even louder. But great ambience that exudes a 1001 Nights flair.

We had the team meal here and the atmosphere was good and we could stay here for a long time. It is very nicely decorated and Arabic music was playing (sometimes a bit too loud). Since my colleagues really wanted to order mezze, I agreed to their request. The flatbread was fine and warm. However, the mezze didn't convince me at all. Since I have many options for comparison and had high expectations, I was probably disappointed. Kunafa, on the other hand, was fine. Service is good and friendly, but sometimes the waiters came a little late. Overall the restaurant wasn't "wow" but it was okay.

Basically fine food, but service in the upper area especially makes you want to run away. When we made our reservation by phone, we weren't informed that we should have cleared the table at 8 a.m. and were then shouted at in a very unfriendly manner by the waitress that she had needed the table for 15 minutes. This could have been pointed out beforehand. Too bad...

Nice ambience, nice service, unfortunately the food was mediocre, too bland and the prices were about twice as high as could be justified. 4 people, a vegetarian aperitif plate with 8 bowls, 2 vegetarian plates, a meat skewer plate (2 skewers, 3 minced meat patties), 6 water and 4 espresso for 335.-!!!
