Delicious ice cream, even better location by the lake!

Most beautiful corner on the quay!

Great, beautiful location by the lake. Unfortunately, the house is probably mistaken for a toilet at night. The operator can't do that, but sometimes it still doesn't smell delicious. The ice cream was sometimes good, sometimes not so good. The yoghurt ice cream had ice crystals in it, as if it had once thawed. The bacon ice cream was delicious. The older gentleman in sales should learn more about customer friendliness from his young colleague at the checkout.

Yesterday was beautiful, warm weather. At 11:45 my wife and I wanted to enjoy a piece of Zuger Kischtorte (see notice on the board at the gelateria!) and a coffee. Unfortunately huge disappointment! There was no cherry pie. We were directed to the main store. This means that Speck has lost 2 long-time regulars, because we have come across first-class Zug cherry cakes elsewhere and will go there again.

Super delicious homemade ice cream from the confectionery. The location by the lake is simply fantastic, even for an after-work drink. (Sunset included). A must when you are on Lake Zug.

Grabbed a table while we decided what to order. Owner/ manager yelled at us telling us we couldn’t just sit down, we kindly explained that we were stood up as we were about to order some wine/ice cream. He wouldn’t listen, while in queue we decided to go elsewhere as we were treated poorly. Walked to him to let him know that was not the way to speak to anyone, instead of apologizing he said “I can do what I please here, this is private”

The person who works there is very unfriendly and you don't get napkins either, the usual Swiss service looks different!

I ordered a scoop of ice cream in the Cornet. Before the unfriendly salesman picked it up (without a napkin or gloves), he blew his nose with two fingers. I asked him about it, to which he replied that it was not customary for them to work with gloves. He put the cornet down and washed his hands and then gave it to me, adding that I could order it in a cup. HOW RUDE! Half of the ice cream ended up in the trash and I will definitely NOT buy any more ice cream under this kind of service!

Chriesi and Cassis ice cream were sensational!

The location is of course sensational. nice and lots of seating. The coffee is ok, the ice cream is very good. I can highly recommend it.

The ice cream is very tasty. Seating options directly on the lake promenade. Employees are very friendly and the tables were clean.

We went to Café Speck for an ice cream because it was so praised. I would give the ice cream a 3 minus. I've eaten delicious ice cream that was just as expensive. I can't say anything negative about the staff. It's very friendly. The hygiene was also ok for us. 30 years ago no one would have thought of wearing gloves. I think the complaint is overblown.

We decided to stop by finish our sandwiches we bought earlier and we would buy coffee and ice cream here. We were very rudely told off by the guy running the hut that this is a "private venue". We explained to him that we sat at the table to get an ice cream and coffee.. but he continued to tell us that one wouldn't sit at a restaurant bringing food from somewhere else, and order coffee from the restaurant. Well, right... strong opinions for a casual hut on the lake with empty tables, and a rather rudely communicated message.. we'll take it in.. ... Looking across the empty tables seeing people eating and drinking nothing...occupying few of these "private" tables, it feels there is a bit of profiling here..

Unhygienic!!! When the saleswoman touched the ice cream cone with her bare hands, I asked her to do so with gloves. The boss came over and said: No! 👎 NOT recommended for people who pay attention to hygiene, people at risk etc!!!!

You can now pay by card. Nice personel. Often has a large rush of customers.

During the Corona period you can buy fine coffee.

Do you want a little snack? Are you thirsty or in the mood for ice cream? So you've come to the right place. The view from this place is also fantastic. You can see over the entire Lake Zug. When the sun is shining there is a phenomenal sunset which is the highlight of the Canton of Zug every evening. Whenever you go on a boat trip in summer, you can enjoy a ride after enjoying the ice cream.

Gelateria right by the lake. Good selection of ice cream varieties and reasonable prices. The espresso is also very good. Be sure to try the “Speckli” ice cream variety. It's made from an almond pastry from the bakery and tastes great!

Bottomless impudence - even if the end of the Corona period hasn't quite come yet, I think it's bottomless impudence when they charge CHD 14.50 for a Cüpli in a mini bottle, the bottle still has to be opened yourself and the tables are slobbery and sticky! And this despite the fact that it is written in large letters that you do NOT have to clear up yourself because the staff has an overview of which tables still need to be disinfected before new guests take a seat! Below any level - but Zug can afford something like that...And the BR wants us Swiss to spend the 2020 holidays in Switzerland?! Not like that - never spend just one franc at Speck in Zug again!

Cozy place right on the lake, excellent ice cream and cold drinks.

The ice creams were averagely good. The waitress was unfriendly and you could tell he was taking the 8 ice cream orders!

If I could I would probably add a zero star.. Speck ice cream is great, but the service was extremely bad: the guy who is selling the ice cream was shouting at my kid! So rude! Just because she was playing with pebbles and put some in the hole of the umbrella holder... other guests sitting sitting nearby were a bit shocked to hear it. 05/08/2019 Update: the owner of the chain have received my feedback and reacted to it in a very constructive way. I really appreciate it and therefore I have updated my rating.

The gelateria from Confiserie Speck makes my heart beat a little faster. I have a selection of homemade ice cream to choose from - delicious 😋! I will definitely go to the gelateria often now to discover a new aroma again and again. 🍦😋

Very nice location. Dishes are compostable, good thing. Ice creams are good too. Spinach hüechli was a bit bland, toast tasted fine, but a little rubbery. A bit expensive, but probably normal on the lake promenade.

Closed on an exceptionally sunny February day. "Only open in good weather" ... would be nice if Google would allow them to post "open now" as status

Very tasty ice cream.. The staff are not so friendly.. They touch the money and without washing they’re hands they touch also the cornet..

The gelati is delicious. Unfortunately, the work is unhygienic. The seller touched the cornet with his bare hands, with which he had previously touched money.

Delicious ice cream at a reasonable price (two scoops CHF 3.50) and comfortable seating included.

For me one of the most beautiful and romantic cafés in Zug! Ice creams are also very good. But one star less because the gelateria is only open sometimes. And, the service isn't the best. It's nice, but dreadlocks in the catering industry shouldn't be allowed. No cards are accepted either.
