Terrasse in Zürich

Beautiful place and good service. Unfortunately the food is below average. The crustini had no flavor and the pasta only tasted like butter and ammonia. Most likely the truffle had gone bad. For this reason I didn't finish the pasta. We left immediately after the main courses. We didn't want to try dessert. Update: 3 hours after going to the restaurant I started feeling dizzy and my body was showing symptoms of food poisoning. The restaurant is not recommended.

Very good restaurant with fresh and delicious food. We went for a brunch, and had yummi disches and fresh prosecco. Staff amaizingly friendly. Ambiente so charmingly classy but cosy, place to recommend 🫶

The first time I visited the Terrasse, I was so impressed by the atmosphere and experience that I decided to return the following day. The staff were helpful, friendly, and welcoming. The food and drinks were superb. The bartender, Claudio, makes the best drinks I have ever tried in Switzerland; and I’m not exaggerating when I say that. Besides the drinks on the menu, he also creates drinks from scratch, and I loved all of them. Terrasse is a place I will definitely be visiting again. I would recommend trying most things on the menu, but especially the drink “porn star,” the steak tartare and the paccheri caviar.

Very nice food and atmosphere in the centre of Zürich. The open ravioli with vegetables was delicious as well as the crepes Suzette. Ver nice and recommendable

The service was a catastrophe... until they took our order I felt like I had to ask 5 times... the price/performance ratio wasn't right at all... way too expensive for what you got... not recommended in my opinion!

I've been here for dinner several times - as usual, super delicious food! Really great. Unfortunately the service was poor. Although the opening times said the restaurant was open until midnight on a Friday, we were asked to leave our table shortly before 11:00 p.m. and were told we could leave our half-full (!!!) wine glasses in the (loud) Drink up the bar. Although we suggested that we would rather enjoy our glass at the table, the service insisted on closing earlier because of the holiday season - but this was not noted anywhere! Such a service is not acceptable for such high prices. It's a shame because the food was very good but I won't visit the restaurant anymore.

Stumbled upon this spot first time in Zurich and the service and food were excellent. Entrecôte was delicious and had excellent service from our Czech waiter. After a long several week trip in Europe, it offered some of the best food if not the best we have tried. Will stop by again.

On the evening of December 23rd around 10:45 p.m., three friends and I planned to enjoy dessert on the terrace in Zurich. When we arrived, we were greeted politely by a member of staff and informed that the kitchen had already closed at 10 p.m. As an alternative, we chose the bar. Unfortunately, while we were speaking to the first member of staff, we were asked to show our IDs by a bad-tempered bouncer. After checking, he told us in a very condescending manner to dress smarter next time, even though we were all dressed in smart casual style. We were then asked whether we had been there before and told to look for a seat ourselves. Despite an intensive search, many places were already filled. When we asked a service employee about available seats for four people, he showed little interest and gestured for us to look for a seat on one side of the bar ourselves. After a long search, he finally called to us and informed us that there was space for four people. After we were seated, the waitress gave us the bar menu and, in a strange way, asked us our age again. Immediately afterwards we left the restaurant. Due to the unprofessional staff and poor service, the restaurant is definitely not recommended.

Good evening On December 23rd, my three friends and I were “received” in a derogatory manner at this restaurant/bar. We actually wanted to have dessert as usual. (the kitchen was already closed, so we had to go to the bar) When we entered, everyone was forced to show ID without greeting, clarifying their needs or general small talk. Afterwards, our smart casual outfit was criticized. The disinterested employees showed us with their hands where we could look for a free table. After a long search, we turned to another employee, who also didn't lead us to a table... After this act we decided to leave the bar. My tips / expectations for a classy restaurant / bar like the terrace: - Do not place autistic people (referring to the doorman) at the entrance, as this will have a bad first impression - Train staff on manners and tone - Accompany customers to the table (basics in a restaurant) I will avoid this restaurant/bar in the future and opt for the Astra Kitchen or Oldfashion Bar. The atmosphere in this restaurant is truly unique, especially thanks to the impressive high ceilings that create a beautiful setting. Unfortunately, I can't say the same enthusiastically about the food. There is definitely room for improvement in terms of taste. The service could also be more attentive to complete the overall experience. With a culinary refresh and improved service quality, this restaurant could reach its full potential.

Our visit was pleasant, especially due to the welcoming atmosphere of the place. After a short wait we found a table. Although the aperitif bites were a bit small and the whiskey selection was limited to standard and no-age statement whiskies, our expectations were ultimately met, especially thanks to a great cocktail that rounded off our experience on a positive note. The place remains a great place for relaxing moments. + large selection of cocktails - Whiskey selection could be improved e.g. with SMWS/Signatory Vintage/Octomore etc.

Our visit to this restaurant was shockingly bad. A simple question about Red Bull was met with an insulting remark that we should drink it at a gas station. What was even more disturbing was that the head bouncer arbitrarily refused to let laughing guests in on the grounds that they were too loud. In addition, communicating with the waitress was a problem because she couldn't really speak German or English. This place is definitely not recommended due to its unprofessional staff and poor service.

Ordered drinks when we sat down, but got our appetizer before our drinks. Bread was very hard, impossible to eat. Overall, food was below average. This seemed like a good place to take work colleagues, not a good date night spot.

For a drink in a central location in Zurich, this restaurant and bar is a good option. Whether inside or outside on a busy street when the weather is nice, you'll find both here. The drinks are good. The staff seem to be very busy as you sometimes have to wait a long time to be served. They seem to make an effort and certainly seem friendly.

Beautiful place and super location! Service is kind and cocktails are amazing. We spent a very nice moment, DJ Lahbal mixed awesome sounds, we really enjoyed the evening!

It's been my favorite bar for 20 years. Unfortunately, bar manager Andras Zentai has been away since September. He was a great host. Service employee Oliver is a very attentive and friendly waiter, thank you for the great service. Music from DJ Lahbal has been brilliant for months, Ibiza House in Zurich... Techno sound doesn't fit into this unique location, you shouldn't do that. And presenting a touch of culture on weekdays with artist guests accompanied by fine wine and food would be fantastic.

Food is average - definitely not what you would expect at that price point. This seems to be only possible due to the premium location of the place. Having said that, sitting in the outdoor space is literally sitting in between two roads which is rather noisy. Service is miserable. Had to ask three times for a beer - the waiter responded that he had ordered it. Seems to be hard for the staff to get their orders processed... The main course was missing the sides and they forgot which glass of wine we had when we wanted to order more. If you go for desert, avoid the Tiramisu. They thought it to be a good idea to cover it in a heavy coat of white chocolate which makes it way too sweet and ruins the soft texture of the Tiramisu itself. Summary: avoid the place and chose an alternative location nearby (there are plenty available).

Lovely outdoor garden with great service. From our meal, we loved the risotto with scallops and tuna ceviche. The summer salad was fresh, and the lamb entrecote was quite average in comparison to everything else. Would love to come back and try their other dishes! Update September 2023: Came back to Terrasse and it was even better than the last time, so upgrading this to 5 stars. We had the salmon ceviche, seasonal salad, risotto with pork, truffle pasta, tuna steak and lemon pie and coffee trifle for dessert. Service was still amazing!

Great place to for drinks and dinner at the heart of Zurich. It's definitely a must go!

This place in the heart of Zurich is losing all its quality. From the friendliness of some employees that make the customer feel not as welcome as the kitchen. Terrasse is a place I like to visit but not with the current stuff, whoever served me I have nothing to say, just say well, always smiling and friendly to all the customers, as well as some of their colleagues, besides their bad appearance, I've also never seen their teeth because smiles stayed at home. For lunch I ordered pasta with truffle and it came with everything but truffle. Pasta swimming in butter with hidden truffles accompanied by water and no dessert. When I got home 30 minutes later I started to feel sick and had to VOMIT, the beauty of it was all. It is regrettable how a house that is so old goes into this decline. Bindella has a name to maintain but this space is the dark side of the group. Making money is good but valuing quality is even better. The arrogance and lack of quality of the kitchen leaves a lot to be desired

The restaurant is simply breathtakingly beautiful... in the garden, moderately... never like it's inside. So no matter what the weather, eat inside...

The restaurant is situated in a nice and cozy location. Even though it's next to a road, it isn't overly noisy. However, both the food and service were just average. It felt more like a bustling brasserie with extended wait times and haphazard service, such as new dishes being brought out while the plates from the previous dishes were still on the table, and some plates being overlooked for removal. While the ingredients were of good quality, the dishes lacked flavor and weren't memorable. Considering the premium prices, we expected a superior experience. Lastly, the inclusion of tips on the final bill felt aggressive. We had to request an adjustment as it seemed excessive for the service provided.

Bread and croissant from the day before! Sticky untoasted toast bread on the étager and cold cuts also half dried out! 😳 It's a shame, it was our favorite breakfast place... what happened to the quality??

Another BINDELLA. However with BINDELLA you never can go wrong. Food was good, service could be better, bower this really depends on the service person. In summer garden is superb.

We arrived at around 5:30 pm at the restaurant, after I have called to make a booking to secure us a table as we have just arrived from the airport famished and they were the only restaurant on google maps with a selective all day menu that could satisfy our hunger. Upon our arrival, the garden area was almost empty and our waiter wanted us to sit directly under the hot burning sun, even though there were various of empty tables under the shade of which he claimed were “reserved” Once we chose a table the first thing he said before welcoming is was “you need to eat in 20 minutes because I have people coming for this table” I don’t think any Swiss cuisine accepts to treat its customers in such a racist manner! If a restaurant only wants to serve Swiss customers they should have a sign out front to indicate so instead of treating the tourists in a poorly and unwelcoming manner! Honestly we ate as fast as we could and left immediately. The fries were ridiculously salted and the ice tea was tasteless. I don’t recommend this place nor do I intend to visit again.

Always very good food and good service!

Ambiente is nice, food is delicious, but service and coordination is catastrophe. We had three different waiters, but food and coffee was still delayed. Coffee was at the bar about fifteen minutes in sight, before it was brought to our table. The food for two people was delivered asynchrony, better said one got the food when the other one finished theirs -10min difference - for an Omelette. Unacceptable.

I'm one of those people who only writes reviews if they found something really good or really bad. Unfortunately, our visit to the Terrasse yesterday belongs to the latter category. First of all, the positive: the garden is awesome (at least if you ignore the car posers), and the kitchen would have been excellent if the food hadn't already been half cold. Which brings us to the minus: the terribly poor service. It took a full 40 minutes before anyone even bothered to order a drink! But he ran away before we had finished ordering. Smile? None. The gentleman looked as if it was beneath him to serve us. After another 20 minutes we finally ordered food. When the food finally came, it was pitch black and the food was half cold. The prices, which are high even by Zurich standards, are completely disproportionate. My impression: far too few staff and the wrong ones at that.

Nice and cozy terrace. Service very nice. That's it for the positive. After we hadn't even finished the starters, the nice waiter was already at the table with the main courses. He apologized and was very nice at all times. Then the main course was otherwise okay, but unfortunately served almost cold or lukewarm. We decided to keep the main courses and that the service or the restaurant would be accommodating by offering a dessert. This was also the case. Nevertheless, in retrospect, with these high prices and the main course served too early and cold, a negative experience remains with the Terrasse in Zurich. It shows once again that the price/performance ratio is not right, especially in Zurich and in the Terrasse restaurant. It's a shame and you pay practically 400 francs for the three of you. I won't be coming back and will therefore only give a maximum of 1 star.

Very beautiful place in the center of Zurich! The restaurant is very spacious and offers a big outside terrace. Service is quite good and improved a lot since last year. You will find quite a big choice of European food.

I made a dinner reservation here for my wife and myself after looking at the photos of the restaurant's interior. At no time during the process of making the reservation was it brought to my attention that dinner would only be served outside. This was the first negative point. Second, the food was not great. The pasta we ordered was overcooked. The veal we ordered was nothing to shout about either. Third, the service was passive-aggressive. When we paid, the staff noted that there was no service charge. I got the hint, but as I paid in cash, I wanted to receive the change before I decided on how much to tip. I left a tip on the table, and on my way out after leaving the tip on the table, the staff said "thank YOU" in a manner that was dripping in sarcasm. The staff may have assumed I was not going to tip, but this was surely unacceptable by any standards. To my knowledge, tipping is not obligatory (quite unlike the States). In any case, I did tip, and there is much to be said about the staff treating all his customers with equal respect (without assumption as to whether they would tip).

It's nice to sit outside there. The menu is typically Italian. My beef tartare was delicious, and the egg yolk cream went particularly well with it. The pasta with truffles wasn't so good. The taste wasn't intense enough and the pasta was unfortunately overcooked. But that could have just been bad luck. I would definitely go there again.

We arrived at the restaurant without a reservation late in the evening. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and so are the tables. Nice waiters, we got a table right away without waiting. We ordered the fried avocado which was delicious and nice for an appetizer and the pasta with truffle which was delicious and light the pasta felt like noodles. In addition, they served us the house. The wait between dishes was relatively long, about 20 minutes. When we received the bill, we were surprised to find that they wanted 2 francs for the tap water we asked for, something we did not encounter in other restaurants in the city. All in all, the food is delicious, dear.

Apart from the very nice place. The service is quite slow (even very slow) but the food was very bland and at exorbitant prices. Tuna without taste or flavor. And a mini burger with very soft sweet potato fries. Poor value for money.
