The Olympic Museum in Lausanne

First you can see the park in which the exhibition and monuments are located. Up the stairs you can see the dates and names of the people who raised the torch and what day and year it was. If you go to the museum itself, at the entrance there is a reception and a shop with souvenirs and toys. There are free exhibitions and paid ones. At the time I was there there was no free exhibition, since they removed it due to the fact that they were preparing for something.

Great museum, impressively presented. It's a shame that there is no café or self-service restaurant, just a full-service restaurant. We just wanted to have a drink and something small to eat, but there was no free space. We were told we should have made a reservation.

Definitely worth going when you are in Lausanne. So much great information and history. The nurse I’m is beautiful and right by the lake. It has a gift store and a wonderful restaurant for lunch and brunch. If you go in the spring, do not miss the beautiful magnolia trees, cherry blossoms and spring flowers.

A beautiful museum, designed in a wonderful geometric way, containing everything related to the Olympics from its beginning and to the future. Clothes, medals, photos of participants, videos.

We couldn't visit the inside because it was closed on Mondays, but it is a must-see place for sports enthusiasts. It may be the best place to go in Lausanne.

Certainly we enjoyed our visit to the museum! A fascinating place with so much history to explore. The permanent exhibition on Olympic athletes, architects, and others are quite interesting. And seeing the Olympic game medals dating back to 1896 is indeed very impressive! Highly recommended to visit this museum when you're in Lausanne.

Probably my favorite museum in Switzerland! I'm Mexican and last year I went to Switzerland for 1 month (I stayed in Lausanne) and I was really overwhelmed to visit it, and my expectations were exceeded! The establishment is magnificent, there is a balance between the modern and the old (history) and I found the design of the place incredible.

Great museum with some deep insights into the history of the Olympic Games. Lots of devotional items, original jerseys and sports equipment, short image films and lots of sports to try out make for an entertaining museum visit, even for children.

Beautiful museum with a beautiful view. Decorations are carefully curated and are engaging in every way. Inside the museum, although there’s access for people with reduced mobility and/or baby trolleys, it’s not integrated in the normal flow of the exhibitions. One is forced to exit and re-entry the exhibition twice and the orientation is therefore somewhat confusing.

I always like going to this museum, as much for its exhibitions on the different moments of Olympic history or for the methods and technology used to explain. Also, the store includes several items that cannot be found elsewhere

we visited the museum and entered the exhibition area, which is free before entering the main area, there was a wall on which each visitor stuck a piece of paper with their personal message. As we didn't see half a mention of Greece, one of our pieces of paper read "where is the greek flag?". after 2 minutes the clerk took the piece of paper and threw it in the trash. This is at least disrespectful to the country that gave birth to the Olympic games, GREECE!!!!!!!! There was no offensive comment and also there were other papers in Russian, Arabic and Chinese which were never checked. After this behavior, as was reasonable, we left without visiting the rest of the area.

Best museum made so far. Hyper interactive, original and modern. Very beautiful pieces are brought to the collection.

A beautiful place, modern and rich in history

Just a perfect place for Olympic history and current affairs. So much to learn how Olympics started and who was the pioneer. Loved the stories about athletes, trophy, games, gears, clothing and medals. Costing around 20 francs and it took us around 2 hours to explore. Must see when in Lausanne.

Worth the entrance. Interactive and thoughtful displays on the history of the Olympics and a lot of regional source material. Very impressed by the flow and activities. The only questionable gap was the Paralympic Games and the lack of discussion around this area.

Well designed museum. The history of the Olympic Games and its founder is very clearly presented, then the different host cities. There you can see the torches from the different Olympic Games, archive photos, and athletes' equipment since the start of the Olympic Games. Part of the museum is very interactive. Bravo to the museum for what it has done!

For all of us who are lovers of healthy living and sports, do not miss the opportunity to visit the Museum of the Olympic Games, there is an entrance fee of 20 CHF, however there is an exhibition of the history of the Marathon that is completely free !! Come visit him here in Lausanne, near the metro station.

Lovely museum . A must visit for Sport lovers. Modern. Vibrant. With a modern approach to the Olympic Sport History. I visited several times, and I would do it again ! It has a cloak room. A gifts shop and the staff is friendly. I highly recommend to visit.

Very interesting exhibition, for all audiences, a few workshops at the end of the course, the only downside is parking, near the lake only room or app (I didn't succeed). Navigation parking indicated nowhere, result 40CHF PV.

There is nothing special about it and it is not worth paying 20 euros. I expected to find things that caught my attention, but that wasn't the case. At the beginning there is audiovisual material with interesting stories. However, when you move on to the parts where you can see physical objects, I found absolutely nothing worthwhile. On the other hand, the museum is very well organized, everything is in optimal condition and super clean. All the audiovisual material and interaction devices worked perfectly, unlike what happens in most museums. Without a doubt, the best thing it has is its surroundings and the area where it is located. A pricey place with the lake and the port.

Great for the history of the games with the Olympic medals and Olympic flames. Practical audio guide, cool games and enjoyable videos. 20 fr entry it's true not necessarily cheap but the museum deserves for their work exhibition also on top athletics and congratulations to the ladies for fighting to have the same rights as men for races. I recommend the museum thank you.

Amazing place! The museum is truly an unforgettable experience for all sports enthusiasts. There are three floors along which to discover the history of the Olympics, memorabilia of Olympic champions and skill tests. If you are in the area, you cannot miss a visit to this museum, as well as a fantastic brunch at the restaurant with the terrace overlooking the lake.

Interesting place, especially the 100 m track that can compare us, mere mortals, with Usain Bolt's time with the track indicating where you are and where this athletics monster is, fantastic in that aspect.

Amasing museum, I have been in various museums of different topics the past few years. The Olympic Museum is one of the best if not the best museum I have been up to now. I was also fortunate to be able to see the excibition for the Paris 2024 Marathon race which was about marathon running. Amasing videos, amasing info, amasing excibit items. Whoever loves sports this museum is the best that he can be....no matter how mcu time i will spend writting my opinion about the museum it wont be enough to express myself. I am glad that i saw this museum. Its a must to go.
