Thipp's Thai Cuisine in Basel

Unfortunately, the lady touched the cold rice that I wanted to return with her fingers and said that it was my own fault. I have never experienced anything like this before and I have to say, even though the Krapao tasted very good, I will definitely never come back!

Absolutely unfriendly service, simply ignores customers and is also very rude! Unfortunately I had to throw away half of the food because a scoop of dried chilies was dumped on it, which wasn't what I wanted.

Good, special taste of the food, different from other Thai restaurants. The a la carte menus are also very special and recommended. Big portion. Credit card payments are finally possible. Normal prices, usually CHF 16. Sometimes moody and unfriendly.

unfortunately cannot recommend the massaman curry @markthalle. beef was overcooked, overall taste was to sour, way to less sauce, onions were not cooked at all and i would prefer a bowl instead of a plate

First of all: the queue that forms every day in front of Thipp's stand speaks for itself. The Pad Thai is world class; balanced, vegetarian and always freshly prepared! Unbeatable in combination with the crispy duck. The curries are varied and taste equally delicious every time (!): be it the green one with chicken, the red one with beef & bamboo/chicken & pumpkin or the red one with duck. (M)an insider tip is the Massaman Curry: traditionally cooked here for a long time and prepared without cream. The negative review in this regard is incomprehensible and also unfounded. Thipp is happy when she can bring joy with her food and is happy to serve generously when asked. For me there is no regular week without food from Thipp.

The food was great! My family had some issues with the credit card reader though. Also, beware of the Pad Kra Pao if you are not used to spice. It’s amazing, but I had to stop eating half way because my mouth was on fire.

The Massaman curry with beef was not edible at all. Really terrible and not recommended.

I could've given less than a star if it was possible. The worst thai food I've ever eaten in my life. I ordered massamen curry with beef. It was cold and had no taste !! I don't even know what that was, but sure not massamen!! she also used her hands without gloves to sprinkle peanuts on top of the dish. Just plain disgusting and on top of that she was so unfriendly and rude because I guess she was getting ready to close. She should've said that they're closing so that I wouldn't have ordered. I couldn't eat it, just wasted my money.

Best Thai in town and I'm not just saying that because I'm Thai. Truly the taste of feeling like being home again.

The best Thai in the Markthalle Basel, really authentic, very tasty food. My favorite: the Phat Thai! Definitely deserves 5 stars 😊
