A great location to meet up with friends, eat and drink well. Recommend Meet with beer. Friendly staff and a great outdoor area. One of my favorite restaurants here in Basel.

Definitely one of the best restaurants in the Basel area in my opinion. The decor fits the theme perfectly and puts you straight into the mood. I also think it's great that there are a variety of activities during the week (games night, karaoke, etc.) and I would even say that they are practically the only ones who offer this. Employees are very friendly and do their job very well. I also like the selection of mead. There are only a few areas for improvement: Chicken wings on Chicken Wings Tuesday are sometimes soggy and not cooked properly (varies). Unfortunately, the amount of fries as a side dish decreased over time. When it comes to mead beer, the mead part is sometimes a bit modest. When it's busy, space is sometimes a bit tight, but that's a positive sign for the bar ;) All in all, my “place to be” on the weekend.

After almost two years, this bar is like my second living room. The team there is always friendly and accommodating. The events are very exciting and fun. Prices for food and drink are really fair. There are many vegetarian/vegan alternatives here and even gluten-free is no problem if you ask :)

Bar itself, nice. I ordered the chicken wings, which I personally didn't like, had hardly any flavor and some of them didn't seem quite cooked through, the Moscow Mule simply tasted like cucumber.

The atmosphere is really unique. The service was very good... But something that can't be kept secret...chicken wings! (even if a win of 1 CHF sounds good on chicken wing day). But honestly the wings aren't really that good. Chicken wings should be fried/fried until crispy. These are far from sloppy and sometimes not even completely through. The other food is quite OK though

Vallhala: December 16, 2023 Today I reserved a table for 7:30 p.m The reservation went great, I went to the venue/bar with my family Nordic music was playing today, very pleasant for the event. A new experience in this place, I had heard a friend rave about Vallhala from time to time. But I never asked. At my brother's request we went to eat here. I have to honestly admit that I have completely missed Vallhala in my life and I will want to catch up on it more often. ☺️ In my opinion, the ambience is dark, warm, cozy, alternative, chesterfield lounge, comfortable wooden furniture, dark red candles, a Nordic alternative furnishings, with some gothic accessories. Decorative detail: antlers, white dance cones, wise stars ⭐️, golden lantern, lighting I found it very cozy, cozy and really pleasant. Outdoor area: Wooden furniture, in winter: heat lamps 💡 fire 🔥, Benches, beautiful trees, fairy lights, charm, palisades wall. Festive fir branches. I liked it a lot The bar is friendly and fresh Entertainment: table football, concerts, game endings, theme evenings. Normal operations The toilets are in the basement 🚽 I like the food, the system is extremely organized. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes it.

Burger was dry, hardly any sauce on it and overcooked. No waitress, order everything at the counter and carry it to the table yourself.

The restaurant, which appears quite dark, now also offers lunch menus. These are the existing menus, simply as a lunch dish. The waitress tries hard, but looks like she just got out of bed. The food (Köttbullar) was good. The restaurant was almost empty, hope there will be more going on in the evening.

Cool atmosphere, something different. The service was extremely friendly and accommodating 💙and the burger was delicious; We would love to come back 👌 I only give 4x⭐ instead of 5x ⭐ because the 3dl soft drinks cost 5.50 CHF, which I think is a bit too much... FYI: Apparently they also have game nights

A great bar with a harmonious atmosphere. Tables and chairs are quaint and rustic in keeping with the theme of the bar. Lamps in the style of open goblets of fire also contribute to this. Events such as quiz evenings often take place. The selection of drinks and food is large, and the fir honey mead is particularly recommended. It should also be emphasized that there is free water, which is not a given.

Absolutely homely. Thursday's karaoke is a bomb! From complete beginners to opera and musical singers - everyone is there and accepts the performance. The best karaoke in the region - definitely experience it!

Good mead and food. If you are into rock and metal you will also like the music they play. The interior is very nicely decorated to justify the name of the bar. Highly recommended

delicious. As a drink you have different choices. You can have different beers (also English beer), met (honey wine) or cocktails. The met they are giving from the barrel or you can  buy a bottle. When you are nerdy or you like quizzes. You can look when they have a quiz round. They have quizzes about Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and a lot more. They have a lot of seats inside and when it is nice, you can go out in the nice garden. In the garden you can smoke. Inside you also have good table soccer, where you can play against your friends or other visitors. At the weekend the bar is very well visited.

It's a shame that the karaoke bar is usually open at 10 p.m. and you have to wait almost an hour for a song. This is not ideal for me as an ŌV user heading to Solothurn.

The food waiting is too long, have been waiting 45 minutes for a simple burger.

I was there the other day, the store was completely empty and the waitress didn't seem to care about people walking into the store. After about 10 minutes we got the card, which the waitress still wasn't interested in and after another 10 minutes we left... That's why this one star is already too much

The bar is beautifully decorated in a medieval style. There is delicious mead and good cocktails and the food was always great. On occasions (Quiz Night, Comedy Strip, etc.) we had to wait up to 2.5 hours for food. This is absolutely no longer customer friendly and apart from "The chef is alone in the kitchen and he's doing the best" there was never an excuse. I would really like to see an improvement here, otherwise we'll have dinner at home next time!! The music is thematically adapted to the bar = super good 🤘🏻

Mega cool & friendly place. Very friendly service and good value for money. Valhalla is always a nice place to stop off - a cult rock/metal bar in a stylish, civilized way (meaning: not a shabby, run-down dive bar). Absolutely comfortable to sit inside and outside. You can still have conversations in the early evening with good music - except later on, when I would like the music to be a little less loud, because over time you have to scream really loudly to be able to understand each other. Since in Valhalla you don't dance around like in a disco but the focus is on socializing, I would prefer a slightly more adjusted music volume - but that's just my preference. Maybe others feel differently. Definitely a super nice place for an after-work drink, sitting with friends, etc.

Only 4 stars cause there was a bit too much high school musical for a viking metal bar. But the bartender knocked it out of the park at singing Gnarls Barkley and mixing the drinks. Amazing voice!

Really cool decorations and close to the centre. Obviously the prices are high like in the rest of Basel, but it felt nice to have a beer there listening to some rock music. However, I have to say that I expected more metal, and the volume was quite low. I know it's not a disco, but I'm used to having louder music on the background when I'm at a rock pub...

A great bar with live music and delicious beer. The decor is based on Vikings, with battle axes, round shields and runes. Tuesday is chicken wing day - a wing CHF 1! Unbeatable!

Went there for the first time yesterday. Locally original, but only 6 chairs with backs at dining tables. The rest are more rustic 'beer hall' tables and benches. So does the lack of service. All orders must always be picked up at the bar using SELF service. Not guest friendly. Employee didn't speak German. You also have to pay immediately for every order at the bar. However, the drinks menu leaves nothing to be desired. Unfortunately, Viking brew was exactly what we had run out of. :-( Food (burgers with fries) was good. There was no live music.

Viking/metal bar. They have excellent, Norse mythology-inspired cocktails (I really liked the one called Hel), and also more classic ones. There is a pretty big private outdoor seating area. Staff was very friendly.

Amazing medival themed bar! It's quite big for switzlerland and it also has a nicely done outside area (for those who like to smoke). They play mostly metal music, but during the week it's more at a background level, so you can also enjoy a dinner with friends. There is a small, but exqusite menu with very fair (swiss) prices. About 50:50 vegetarian/carnivorious meals. They have a chef, so its not just snacks. They have a huge choice of drinks (esp. mead, beers and their own nordic gods named cocktails), again for very fair (swiss) prices. Live music and events will follow soon! A place like that, simply didn't exist. Not only in the "Dreiländereck" area. I can't recall something similar in switzland, south germany and eastern france. Personaly i would only wish for a good non-alcoholic beer. Maybe a "Extra Herb", german Pils?

It is a fun place with events frequently throughout the week. It is a place that knows what it is about and nails the aesthetic.

The theme of the bar is based on Norse mythology and features heavy metal music. The ambience was great and so were the cocktails. The bartenders were nice too.

Well I'm pretty tipsy now and it's all thanks to this place. Everything you'd expect from a metal bar plus a bunch of really cool decorations.
