Very good food. Prices a bit high, but reasonable for Lucerne in/on the lake. The staff is very friendly. We found it a bit strange as it was almost empty. It was during the week. Good for us 👍 and everyone who wants to visit this restaurant!

We loved our experience at this restaurant. We have been wanting to eat a real cheese fondue for a long time and we were not disappointed. Special mention to our server, Noel, who gave us EXCELLENT service!

The ship restaurant, which has been on the banks of Lucerne for over 50 years, is a must when visiting Lucerne!

Was there on Jan 26th. The service was top here, a thank you to Noel, I didn't miss anything and the plates at f. Chinoise also came without pork at short notice. Deserve a raise! ;)

I recently dined at the charming restaurant Wilhelm Tell on Lake Lucerne, where we indulged in the exquisite Cheese Fondue, expertly crafted by Michael. The dessert was a delightful finale, and the service staff demonstrated utmost professionalism. The unique location on the ship added to the overall enchanting experience, making it a memorable evening. I will recommend this Restaurant to all my Australian Friends.

We celebrated our wedding aperitif in the Wilhelm Tell ship restaurant in autumn 2023. Our guests and we were thrilled by the delicious appetizers, the wine selection, the sophisticated ambience and the beautiful view. The service and support when planning the aperitif was also top from start to finish and we would like to thank Captain Räber and his crew again :) .

Our annual fondue meal is perfect, very good and the service is very friendly. Would love to come back.

You're really looking forward to eating on this disused ship. As soon as you enter, you feel like you've been transported back in time and when you're led into the saloon, something like a captain's dinner atmosphere arises. There were eight of us at a gathering for the same profession in this restaurant. We had reserved in advance and were at a table of three served by "one" waiter. If the concept is such that you can enjoy Fondue Chinoise a Discretion in two hours, there should be no gaps in the side dish and meat replenishment until the guests have had enough. For this price I expect seamless service from the kitchen too. Air conditioning would also be an advantage so that the windows don't tarnish so much and you feel like you're in a sauna. It was a really cool experience and the food is delicious, but the management should think about not saving on staff.

We arrived late without a reservation and they made a place for us, ♥️ 👌. The service was excellent, the food exquisite! I highly recommend this place!

The location on this paddle steamer is of course HIT. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food was good, we had an aperitif, salad for starters and a fondue chinoise. The sauces were homemade and very tasty! For dessert there was homemade cinnamon ice cream, gingerbread and plum compote. All in all, another very nice experience and I would highly recommend Wilhelm Tell!

Located in a boat on Lake Luzerne it is an interesting choice although the food is not impressive

Great restaurant in a picturesque setting! Wonderful both for an intimate dinner and for a dinner with friends! Exquisite staff! The view of the lake at night with all the lights of the splendid buildings that surround it is priceless. The portions are decidedly generous so before ordering you need to think about how hungry you are!

Enjoy your meal. Special and cool ambience, there is a lot of tension in the back, which is why you get cold quickly.

Today I arrived at the restaurant with my family of 6 people and 1 dog before the actual reservation and we received a very friendly welcome. Unfortunately I don't have the name but our waitress and the lady who welcomed us were very attentive. The food was great and very tasty. I would be happy to recommend this restaurant.

Been here again for a long time and it was worth it! Even though we didn't have a reservation, we got a nice table downstairs in the Stübli. We decided on the cheese fondue. Prepared directly at the table in a show cooking session. That is fun! We were served by the learner who made the whole service great! He has a strong sense of service and is very friendly to guests. Bravo! The fondue tasted delicious, as before, and the bread was fresh. The side dishes we ordered also worked. Gladly again!

The “Wilhelm Tell” impresses first and foremost with its breathtaking views of Lucerne, Lake Lucerne and the surrounding mountains. Next, the extremely friendly and competent service is impressive. Great location, great ambience, very friendly, attentive and good service. The food is very good. The dessert menu is extremely attractive and the Mini Coupe is surprisingly large. Not a cheap restaurant, but with this location, ambience, service and quality, the price/performance is totally right.

Dear William Tell crew Today I went to lunch on the great and beautiful ship with my brother and sister-in-law (who came from Bern). It was simply fantastic in every respect, both in terms of cuisine and service (waiter service 5). My beef tartare, for example, was an edible work of art – unsurpassable – unbelievable – great. Even the coming rain - no problem - the roller shutters were immediately lowered and we were able to simply enjoy the great rain with the beautiful ambience and the view of the lake. It was brilliant – even more beautiful and special than with sunshine. What more could you want – a big compliment to the likeable, super friendly and simply brilliant crew. Captain Eduard – eating and enjoying is so much fun – we would love to come back. sincerely Rolf, Markus and Therese Buzzi

Very nice view and friendly service. Food is also good. Claudia serves our table and taught my daughter how to make beautiful table napkins. We love her and the restaurant service a lot. Highly recommend.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff.

Wonderful. Very very nice service, nice ship. The coupe look exactly like the picture on the card. I've never seen anything like it. Most of the time the picture is more like a burger restaurant and only has the same ingredients as what you get. Not like that here, all coupes looked like the pictures. Prices are rather high, but hey, you get something out of it ;-)

The view of the lake is magnificent. The staff takes great care.

We had a great evening on the ship. Nice welcome, good food and atmosphere is simply indescribable (sunset, right on the lake). Mr. Räber and his crew are very accommodating. I had a mishap and Mr. Räber gave me great support here. Thank you for that! Absolutely a recommendation. For both tourists and locals.

Ahoy Captain Räber I would like to thank you, also on behalf of our partners, for the wonderful evening on the Wilhelm Tell. It was beautiful and we enjoyed it to the fullest. Also my explicit thanks to Michael and Therese. The two of them really spoiled us – great team! Also our thank you to the galley! The Lozärner menu was a hit, well cooked and enjoyed with pleasure. The wine was an excellent recommendation. My favorite was the white wine, although I usually prefer the red wine. Please send our congratulations on the good wine to the Mächler family of winemakers. One partner was a little sad when he realized we weren't going to leave. But who needs to go on a trip with such a spectacular backdrop?! I wish you continued success with the Wilhelm Tell (a true pearl) and look forward to seeing you again from time to time.

We go to Lucerne to eat at Wilhelm Tell once a year, and it's always a pleasure. The star rating says it all ;-)

I always enjoy going to the ship's restaurant Tell. I recommend you enjoy the Fondue Chinoise. The Captains Dinner also fulfills all wishes. Take the time to linger on the ship with food and drink, with great service and a wonderful atmosphere, whether on deck with a view of the local mountain Pilatus or down in the hall when the weather is bad. Easily accessible even with a wheelchair (not on the deck) but the staff are even more attentive and will be at your side.

Great ambience and super nice view. The food and drinks were top. It's a shame that this ship no longer sails. That would have made the whole thing perfect.

Total tourist trap. The food is mediocre at best. The service is ok. I tried a few different dishes and given and wasn’t impressed by anything but the French fries. The wine list is also very limited.

The Wilhelm Tell ship restaurant is a unique experience in every respect: a culinary high-light, a wonderful ambience, excellent and courteous service and not forgetting the view of the beautiful city of Lucerne, the KKL and the Pilatus... Anyone who thinks It's far from the case that it's a tourist trap. Everything is just right!

Once again we had an excellent meal in the ship's Willhelm Tell restaurant. The ambience is harmonious and informal, the service is very friendly and accommodating. The view of the Lucerne lake basin and the mountain backdrop is unique. Probably one of the nicer places in Lucerne to enjoy a very fine meal.

Excellent food, romantic ambience, friendly service but a little too noisy when the restaurant is full. The ship restaurant Wilhelm Tell is a ship that's on a standstill and doesn't move. The view of Luzern from the ship is gorgeous, especially in the evenings.

Gorgeous decor, very pleasant ambience, upscale food which looks and tastes incredible. The personell made the overall experience superb. It has been a long time since I felt so satisfied with the restaurant visit.

We reserved a table on the recommendation of a friend and were absolutely thrilled. The cheese fondue was freshly prepared for us at the table. Delicious. Super friendly and attentive service. Be sure to reserve in good time!

Most beautiful view of the mountains, city and lake, pleasant atmosphere, perfect service, very friendly staff and excellent food.

RIPPED OFF BY THE WAITER !!! BUT FINALLY REFUNDED. After lunch on Friday Nov 11th, the total of the check showed an amount of 41.50 CHF. I realized later that the waiter charged 45.50 CHF to my credit card. I was already 200 km away from the place, so I could not go back to complain. I have nothing against tipping a friendly server, but it does not work like this. The money was simply stolen from my card without my knowledge by a disrespectful waiter. So if you don't want a bad surprise, simply don't go there ! FURTHER ENHANCEMENT : after contacting the owner, he finally decided to refund the 4 CHF. But it was not easy !

I came across this beautiful ship in Lucerne while walking past. I then went into this ship for a hot chocolate and a portion of dessert. I think the dessert was called SchoggiTraum or something similar =). Very nice service and very tasty dessert. The view from the ship over the lake and towards Pilatus, the city and further into the distance invites you to linger or take a little break. Definitely recommended 5 stars 10 points. Thanks

Very tasty food. The personnel is very friendly and courteous

We spontaneously discovered the ship's restaurant and were given a table for two people without a reservation. Very friendly service staff, even helping to organize a table. We decided on a salad as a starter and the meatloaf with mashed potatoes. Both were extremely fine and prepared with great attention to detail. The prices are reasonable for the city of Lucerne, the quality of the food, friendliness, and location are worth every franc!! We would love to come back the next time we visit Lucerne!

We went to a Fondue Chinoise birthday dinner on the William Tell. Everything was perfect: meat quality A1, fine sauces, good side dishes, bursting if necessary ;-) The service was also very nice and humorous. The rooms on this old ship from 1908 are very nice. A meal on the Wilhelm Tell is something very special.

We had an aperitif on the ship and simply enjoyed the beautiful weather. The drink was very tasty and a very pleasant atmosphere. We can't judge the food because we only had one drink.

Service and food were top! A vegan and gluten-free fondue could even be organized with advance notice. Highly recommended! :-)

Had a great time on the boat. We dined in the booths up front, which had a great ambiance. The fondue was prepared right at your table and the service was outstanding. The staff is personal, nice, and accommodating. Would definitely recommend dining here when visiting Luzern!

Good down-to-earth food and nice service

Lovely evening on the Wilhelm Tell. Mac & cheese dish was so yummy!

The captain and his crew are very nice and accommodating and also responded to special requests. Food was fantastic (fondue chinoise), ambience on the outside deck was also great, with a beautiful view. I can recommend it without reservation.

The employee who served us was phenomenal! So positioned, communicative, friendly, accommodating... it was just a joy and fun. The fish crispies were again very, very tasty (our favorite dish when we eat here). It was another very successful evening on the ship!

Horrible place. Should never visit unless you want to face racism by the staff.

If you want to experience active racism in the 21st century at one of the most developed countries, please do visit this place. We wanted to visit this place because we heard a lot about it. While we were all smiles when we entered the place, we left it with almost astonishment and disgust. It felt like the staff did not want to accomodate us in the first place. On requesting them for vegetarian options, they frowned and told us we only have these three and nothing else can be done for you. And when we decided to leave politely, they went to another table and made snooty remarks about "Indians". We do not know how wonderful an experience the other "non-Indians" have had here, but this is definitely not an experience any "human" would want. Thank you for making us feel less highly about your country and much better about ours. Atleast we have been taught to always treat our guests with utmost dignity and respect.

The restaurant is pretty okay in terms of view, food taste. However, this place scores high on friendly staff and food quantity.
