Yucatan in Engelberg

We were very happy with Malike!

I was there last Saturday with 70 colleagues. The service sucked, a German waitress who was incompetent, arrogant, rude, stupid and quite inefficient served us in a poor manner. I will file a complaint about this waitress. The burgers we were served were vulgafres and didn't taste good, the starters were the same. The atmosphere in the evening was interesting and it was a nice party. The music was good too.

Located on the ground level of the Bellevue Hotel near the train station Pleasant atmosphere and excellent food good wines we ate Carrot cream soup with wasabi and pieces of pickled ginger (from the sushi) is amazing Red curry with spicy tofu, carrots, snow peas, dwarf corn, sprouts and peppers Zander (lake fish) with beetroot gnocchi, roasted sweet potato cubes and roasted tomatoes

This was our first time in the Yucatan for dinner. It was super nice, the employees did a great job We will be back!

Ramen was chicken soup with tagiatelle (no miso, no udon)...chocolate tart was almost impossible to share with a spoon (too cold)...and the simplest things like adding a spoon to a soup were lost... Unfortunately, our service was bitter (although everyone else made a very nice impression). I think we were just unlucky, otherwise I can't explain the good Google rating.

We were able to enjoy an aperitif and food for a bachelorette party at “Yuki”. Reservation, pre-order, process worked incredibly well! The service was TOP and very friendly and accommodating. WE THANK THE YUKI TEAM FROM ALL THE HEART! ❤ Keep it up!

Great bar with a lot of charm. Unfortunately the music is a bit loud for chatting.

Menu makes no sense… could’ve ordered the burger and the truffle fries individually for less than just the burger and a small portion of fries and a tiny salad 😂 But have to be honest the food was awesome.

The Casa salad was swamped in sauce and the CHF 28 pappardelle where they mix molten Swiss cheese with vegetables questionable in terms of culinary choice. Add 1.5 hour waiting time for the food. Overpriced, not good and poor service

Delicious burgers we had but pretty expensive. They had an interesting vegan burger.

We (the two of us) got a nice table for two in the bar on a Thursday evening without a reservation, the last one (!). The service was attentive and the food was delicate, unexpectedly prepared and imaginative.

It was nice to find this relaxed bar / restaurant to have dinner with our kids. We were attracted to see some different dishes on the menu - such as ceviche, quesadillas & ramen, which of course we tried along with some other choices. Everything was good & tasty. We had a nice service from several staff that were working during our visit. All good for us.

Apart from the fact that the udon noodles were “just” tagliatelle and def. no udon, and that you had to use the flashlight on your smartphone to read the menu because it was just too dark in the very stylish restaurant (we found it funny in a way). The food (ramen and super tender pork cheeks on polenta) was very tasty and the service was super friendly and attentive. The next day we spontaneously went to the Yucatan at 9:30 p.m. because we were still hungry after an event. We were offered a seat without any problems and in a friendly manner and we were also given something to eat (chilli cheese fries are awesome!) Top 👍🏻

Settled in for an early Saturday night dinner. The was our first time here and the atmosphere did not disappoint.Had the cheese burger as that was recommended, great taste!, dinner was pricey, 2 burgers, carrot soup, and 2 waters was $102.

I used to love the "Yuci". However, it was there now and had the red tofu curry. The rice and the curry were completely over salted. There were also shrimp chips with a vegetarian dish. Really now? There was also a lot of staff just standing around, but we still waited 15 minutes until we could pay. Since the concept change during Corona, the quality has really not been there anymore - a shame!

The food was AMAZING, especially the ceviche as a starter! The service is also great. We had a great evening!

We ordered a burger & chicken sandwich with a portion of fries to share and it was delicious. The portion is good and the service was nice, even if it was only to go. Bartender even offered me a pint while I waited for my meal. I will acknowledge it is a bit expensive but pretty much the same in pricing with the rest of the neighborhood.

The servers are super friendly, the music is fun, and the burger is in the top 5 that I’ve ever had. It is a little pricey but it’s Switzerland sooooo…

We ordered a burger to share and it was delicious. The portion is good and the service was nice. I highly recommend stopping by even for only drinks. I tried thoer homemade ice tea and it was yummy and unique.

We have been before, and no diminution of service or quality of food. We sat inside, but plenty of outdoor seating too.

Absolutely outstanding service with a smile and a happy style of communication. The place used to have the best burgers south of Lucerne, completing the menu with a crisp mix of fresh ideas and great cooking skills. Mid August '23 left a sobering impression of a "kitchen on a budget" , buzzword-focused dishes, and a margin-clinging choice of wines which somehow won't deliver. Maybe / hopefully just a dip in the curve. Again, Service is over the top and the place is overeall more than lovable!

Ended up here with bunch after hiking in the evening. Did not have reservation but the waitress did good accommodating 10-11 people. She was friendly and quick to set tables. Went to washroom and forgot to oder drinks, the guy who came back with others drink order was little surprised to see i don't have a drink and he asked me, what about you? I said I will have Murphy's and he was right on it. I like this kind of service! I had selection starter and chicken burger for main. The burger was good and came with fries and coleslaw. Good quantity and tasted nice! Overall, I liked the restaurant. People who complain about this and that, can always see the menu before entering the restaurant! 🙂

Incredible. We came in for a drink and were seated under a loudspeaker. Since we couldn't hear each other speak, we asked to turn the music down a bit. After some 15 min and 3 trials to have music more in the background the waitress clearly upset switched the music off asking angrily if is it really too loud for us. We were the only clients in the restaurant...

Lovely looking place with good food. The burger I had was great and very big. But the crispy duck I had the second time had a rather small portion of meat but it also tastes great.

Very nice restaurant with very nice staff and the best spare ribs I have ever eaten. According to my husband, the burger was also very tasty!

The worst service ever. The stake is really bad I don't recommend it to any one but for onistiy the burgers where good what I hate it the must is they made me buy the dishes that I didn't like and they didn't care.

I came in with a group of 4 of us at 4:50 pm at the bar. There was only one other group in the bar at the time. The drinks were watered down, the wait staff were very rude, and when we went to pay, they told us we are required to give a 30% tip. There are a lot friendlier and better serving places in this town to enjoy vs this location. The drinks were very expensive as well.

The place that has been the meeting point in Engelberg for generations. Large selection of drinks, cocktails and creative food. Nice service.

We have known the Yucatan for many years. We haven't eaten anything for a long time, but we often go there for an aperitif. Very pleasant atmosphere. Yesterday we were there for dinner. Starter Selección Yucatan was good, Crispy Chicken Burger was unfortunately extremely dry. not eat the whole thing, it's a shame. My husband had quesadillas, which were okay but nothing more. We always like it as an aperitif location, but unfortunately it's not our address for a good dinner

For us 5 stars. Food was great (miso soup, vegi burger and Thai curry) service was super attentive and friendly. Prices correspond to the average of the other restaurants in Engelberg.

Good ski bar and restaurant. Big, warm open space. Need to book for dinner as can get really busy. Good staff. Opposite bus stop to cablecars and alongside Hotel Bellevue

Atmosphere and food, however the staff wasn't very motivated and it took quite a while for the food to arrive also the staff forgot our order more than once.

I loved my dinner in the Yucatan! The staff was friendly, friendly and accommodating. My gnocchi were beautifully presented and tasted excellent. The atmosphere and music rounded off the evening, very cozy and hip. Again any time!

Near to train station late working hours nearly full o n monday

Unfriendly staff, no leadership skills and bad food. We made reservations for dinner with a group. The beginning made a good impression. Afterwards we waited 1 1/2 hours for the food. When asked, it was said that there was another group that received preferential treatment. We were told that food would come 10 minutes later. After 40 minutes the food still wasn't there. There was no apology or asking if you would like anything else to drink. When the food came, the duck was not crispy but rubbery. The burgers were dried out. When we also pointed out the duck, there was no understanding but rather treatment from above. The staff reacted irritably and aggressively instead of professionally and willing to compromise. When the service staff collected the money, they asked if we were satisfied with everything. One person pointed out the flaws. The answer was: "I didn't ask you, but the others." All in all, the restaurant is overpriced and not worth a trip. The boss was overwhelmed by the situation, as were the service staff. The arrogance is also reflected in the feedback from Google reviews such as “What did you expect?” You probably shouldn't expect anything.

We only drank a glass of wheat beer and a glass of Amaretto coffee.

Service was ok. The food was not what I was expecting. Can get pricy too. There were a few options for vegans though.

Great service, very accommodating, gives recommendations without imposing anything. Couscous salad with smoked salmon tastes great! You can choose whether you want to eat in the bar (at the table) or in the restaurant - it's a little louder in the bar, but there are great window seats :-) I'd love to come back!😍😋

Unfortunately, the restaurant did not turn out to be a service-optimized operation. Service was ok, but the kitchen didn't give any seconds (except for fries...) Due to the fact that the meat portions for the special Cordon Bleu are kept very small and the 2 ordered ones were also served dry.. The fries weren't more than warm either.. Many points that do not correspond to the prices!! I am also a restaurateur but I find this unacceptable and not gastrolike!! It's a shame, as a family we will no longer consider this restaurant and hotel... There were 8 of us and the hotel fully met our expectations.

I went here with a group expecting to eat at a Mexican restaurant. It is not a Mexican restaurant but they do serve quesadillas. The service was great. The food was average. I had the Yuci burger. It was not bad. Their beef tartare was quite good. Others in my group had the chicken burger and did not care for it.

Is it a good place to spend your time with friends and family, the environment and the service is really good

Came by chance because the setting seemed nice. Well received, fast and smiling staff. I found the prices high especially for the hamburger but it was magnificent, large, fresh bread, generous slice of chicken and accompanying (fries and salads) so in the end expensive but very good. My price for enchiladas was perfect too, I loved it.... so once again I still find the prices high but the quality and quantity were there.

It is like that. Drinks prices are overpriced and you couldn't read the newspaper because of the coffee. Lighting didn't work either. "There was just too much coffee in it." Before we could pay we had to ask three times even though the restaurant was almost empty.

Wonderful restaurant. The food is delious and the staff is very friendly. I will be back there for sure if I return to Engelberg.

Cool restaurant, small but nice menu. Burgers and quesedillas as nice portions at fair prices. Staff tried hard and friendly! The only “minus point”. It took forever until we were finally allowed to pay and it took 3 requests...other than that everything was great

The waiter didn't say hello or offer us a seat. At first we waited for someone to approach us, but the waiter did not bring a menu, I asked to bring a menu. After I received the menu (hurray!), we still waited about 20 minutes for the order to be taken. In the end, I came up myself.

We came to dance. Great atmosphere, good DJ. But the bar team was hopelessly overloaded and cleared away half-empty glasses without being asked. It happened to me three times in the evening, but it shouldn't happen. (should you dance with a beer in your hand?)

The supposed boss at the entrance prefers to chat with friends rather than accompany guests to the table and is also unfriendly.

Food was ok, quite overpriced for what it is! Service catastrophic, unfriendly, don't even know what you're selling! It's better to take a training course and the friendliness leaves a lot to be desired! I don't understand why people would line up for something like that! Would really change something, otherwise it's a one-off thing for most people!

The restaurant can only be visited in the evening in high season by reservation. The staff is totally incompetent, doesn't know about the menu, is unfriendly and rude! You are ignored by the dark-haired waitress with piercings and tattoos (judgment without external prejudices or anything similar) because you asked her when the food for the children would come, after the little ones had already had to wait 1 hour and 45 minutes. The atmosphere is also unfriendly for children, as people party loudly and drunk at the tables next door from 9 p.m. The food is good but extremely overpriced, a 1L water bottle is available in the Yucatan for 10.-. Unfortunately, we as a family cannot recommend the restaurant.

The starter was very good, but the main course hadn't arrived even after 1 1/2 hours!?! Well, at least the drinks were on the house…

Good food and very friendly service. On Saturday evenings, from around 10 p.m., dance music, which can disrupt conversation due to the volume. But then who wants to talk a lot 😉

Really nice and cozy, big restaurant and bar. Great service, hard working staff. The Yuci burger is clearly the restaurants favorite, it appears at every table, also at ours. Nice burger. One downside, as everything in Switzerland, it is highly expensive.

The YUCATAN in Engelberg is located directly on the small main street, opposite the train station and the bus stop, so everything is ideal for apres ski, a cappuccino outside, a tea in the winter garden/smoking room or in the gr bar inside. Just take a look 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Arrived at 8PM for a booking and left at 830PM after not being attended to whatsoever. No point booking a table.

Been a happy guest for years and always because of the friendly staff and good food.

So people! A really great experience and definitely worth a visit. Starter and the Yuci Burger were simply very tasty. Service was totally friendly and accommodating. Gastronomy is still done with passion here. Thank you for the great evening. We had fun! Keep it up and good luck 👍

Very nice place to go to; we went here after kids' skiing class for an early dinner (5PM on a Saturday). Kids enjoyed their burgers and we enjoyed our Thai curry's. Also our dog was welcome and received a fresh bowl of water. Can recommend 👌

You don't feel welcome here as a guest. The service is disorganized and stressed. Guests are kept waiting. There is better in Engelberg!

The starter was very fine (Yuci tartar upgraded), for the main course we had the Yuci burger, which was a bit dry in taste but OK. Friendly staff and cool location.

We have a very wonderful trip to Engelberg, and at the end we ended up in Yucatan Bar Restaurant, it was outstanding & delicious!

Every now and then the perfect location, takeaway ordered by phone and ready for collection 10 minutes later. Food quality very good, large portion.

Amazing food, amazing service. We came back a few times to eat.

We had the Yuca-burger with French fries and two different mocktails (alcohol free cocktails). Burgers and fries were very good and we loved the way the food was presented. The mocktails were tasty too, but rather small for CHF 9. The size of the food portion was enough for us. We experienced our waiter - the taller one with blond hair - as very friendly and attentive. The smaller, Spanish waiter on the other hand, did not even care to say "hi/hello" or anything at all. That felt quite odd to us.

The place to be! Friendly staff, amazing food, perfect musical atmosphere.
