Ziegelhütte in Zürich

Fantastically tasty beef liver with rösti. The most delicate and fresh I tried so far. Cosy terrace with beautiful view, excellent service. The visit was spontaneous on a bike trip road, but came out as a place to come back more. Has a car and bike parking place, kids playground, local products store.

Very nice restaurant on the outskirts of Zurich. Great food from a specially cut and completely used beef. We had the liver paté, the hand-cut tartare (both as starters) and for the main course tagliata and pulled beef croquettes. Everything was really delicious and anything but everyday. For dessert we treated ourselves to the café panacotta and a brownie. That was also great. Plus the very nice service. We would love to come by there again.

Oopssss... what can I say... Organic pork cordon bleu with fries... I only saw the meat on the plate at second glance... a few fries in a bowl... it was good, ok for a children's plate. Afterwards we ate somewhere else. Price/performance = poor

Very cozy and rustic furnishings inside. Nice terrace outside when it gets warmer. Well located for a short hike. Everything looks delicious on the menu and what I had was great. Service very nice and attentive. The “Rasi” in particular was a nice service. Gladly again and greetings to Rasi :)

Super nice and courteous staff. The ambience is rustic and just the way we like it. Location simply sensational and free parking. Food was very fine. Rustic, lots of organic offerings, lots of fine and unusual vegetables 🙏 I had my finest dessert of my life here... blood orange wedges, blood orange sorbet and caramelized pistachios and tree nuts... simply brilliant and delicious... Visit from February 8, 2024 It was just delicious. After very friendly and professional advice from the nice chef who was working in service that day and the other attentive service staff, I decided on the recommended braised dish. It was just delicious. From start to finish we received excellent and friendly service and ate very well. Gladly again. Top team. 👍👏💪 Simply delicious.

The restaurant has very good vibe, sitting there in the afternoon was like sitting in cozy living room. The staffs were soooo lovely!!! They tried to explain what is in the menu or ingredient. There has outside cozy sitting area. So you can chill with beer or wine!. Oh! The menu is changed from time to time (its Seasoning menu). The waiter/waitress will inform you.

I found out from someone that she wanted to celebrate her 60th birthday, but it was a total rip-off place! And I personally experienced this today, very toxic and unfriendly, and children are not welcome there! As a former Schwamendinger, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant!

We have visited the Ziegelhütte a couple of times during 2023 with friends and family. I would recommend the traditional swiss dishes those are the best of the menu.

We've been eating here again and again for years. Everything was perfect again in December 2023. Very friendly, attentive service. According to the service staff, the restaurant had around 200 guests that evening! Nevertheless, the food came very quickly, no errors when ordering. Incredibly friendly boss and staff. Therefore very happy again. I'm already looking forward to summer and a great evening outside in the garden and the grill. The logistics here are incredible, I respect what is being done here. The Ziegelhütte restaurant is an osae of peace and a welcoming ambience, a little away from the city.

Really good traditional swiss restaurant, kind and attentive staff, fast service. Nice terrace and good sized interior, still better to book in advance, especially for the seasonal menus like "Metzgete". Free parking places near the house and a few more in a nearby parking lot.

The Alpsau Metzgete in the Ziegelhütte above Schwamendingen is an absolute highlight. The decor is rustic and cozy. The innkeeper exudes a pleasant, welcoming atmosphere. The slaughter platter is rich and sumptuous. As a side dish there are, among other things, fine cooked apple cider wedges. The surprise is the black pudding! Seasoned differently and with a lighter taste than usual, it also impressed me, as I'm not exactly a black pudding lover. See you next year, Brickworks!

Nice restaurant in the city, great cuisine.

Casual cosy restaurant. Very friendly head waiter. Weakest link is the kitchen. Misses a little love. Food is no more than just ok and that is it. Lacks an eye for detail. Feels very old school. The game plates on offer sound but nice lack culinary refinement even in a rustic setting. All together just ok. Hope they ramp up the kitchen as the location is very cozy and nice. Like the idea of the sate or satay. However missed the notes on seasoning. Was cooked at the right level. Wil boar 🐗 cordon blue was underwhelming. A missed opportunity. The plating you see on the picture just looks very sad.

Very unfriendly staff (two ladies), who greeted the guests in an unfriendly and angry manner! It's a shame for such a traditional restaurant.

Sunday, October 22nd 3:45 p.m. 4 days before this date I wanted for 11 people. reserve: Should go, there is space. When I said that we wanted to come for drinks and dessert, I was told: No, that's not possible, only whole lunches are served at this time, they just want to make money and survive. When we arrived at 3:45 p.m. (without a reservation), it took 30 minutes for the order to be taken and another 30 minutes for it to be served. The service was unfriendly and not on point, the coffee was cold and we had to pick up the coffee cream ourselves at the counter. It looks like there is no need to serve guests in a friendly and quick manner. It's a shame, otherwise it would be a nice place.

I've been in many places in the world and that was by far the worst service I've ever experienced. It took more than half a hour for someone to give us the restaurant menu. During this time we tried several times to call for someone and one of those tries the waitress clearly just ignored me. My husband finally managed to tell her that we were waiting for a long time and she was annoyed at him. She said we didn't tell anyone we were there, even tho we tried. Many people just got in after us and sat down and had a normal service. After talking to her he asked for water and the menu for desserts. She took a long time to finally come in a bad mood with one menu, saying she forgot to bring it. (Even tho, while waiting, she pass by our table many times, looked at us and carry on helping other customers and cleaning tables) After this we just stood up and left. I felt extremely uncomfortable there.

Attention: You cannot rely on the opening times according to the homepage. If the weather is nice, the restaurant closes on Sundays from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The decision is made spontaneously depending on the weather situation. No joke.

Super thank you... Located on the outskirts of Zurich in Zurich Schwamendingen. About five minutes from Schwamendingerplatz Zurich. The food was phenomenal, the service was great and the ambience was great. Professional and prompt. Was there the second time & still good. Thanks & keep it up.

Aperitif outside in the large, cozy garden and dinner inside in the stylish but cozy restaurant. Me and my long-time girlfriend are thrilled. The staff is always friendly and well-positioned. The food is very good and the selection is wide and imaginative, even for vegetarians. If you're very hungry, you might be a little disappointed by the portion size. Dogs are also welcome, which we find to be an added bonus. Thank you for the great evening.

First the good: The idea with the water is great. But since I didn't drink any water, of course I didn't want to pay. It was not removed from the bill without comment. The service is top. - You have to dig deep into your pockets because of the beautiful garden. Not because of the food, which is served rather carelessly in small portions. Unfortunately, I was still hungry when I left the restaurant and I definitely won't be coming back.

A beautiful place for a long walk. Idyllically located restaurant in the middle of Schwammendingen. A real insider tip. We didn't eat. But the coffee is wonderful. There is also lact. free milk.

The lukewarm chocolate chocolate is a dream, but it had a scoop of vanilla ice cream with it

Nice location on the outskirts of town - sometimes with a beer garden and music. The service in the pub is friendly and direct. The very regional food and wine list looks appealing, but the craftsmanship on the plate can still be improved.

It was about 5:30pm when I walked by with a friend after we had taken a walk in the woods. We just wanted to have a beer and an ice cream. But the owner of the restaurant was rude and said that we should be on the guest list. I told him we could even sit in the back and take our drinks with us. He replied that the back was closed. The service employees work under stress due to a bad manager. I will never go there again, the atmosphere was very uncomfortable.

Wonderful dinner with seasonal and local offerings (ingredients partly come from the neighboring farm) and super friendly staff. We go home satisfied and full. Big plus, we have another great insider tip that we can recommend to our friends. We look forward to the next visit!!

On Sundays at 11.15 no spontaneous morning pint is possible: the beer garden is empty, but almost all tables are reserved, free tables cannot be accessed independently, you should wait for the boss... then not 🤨

We had very nice service. The food was also good. Unfortunately, the landlady is the complete opposite. Especially if you are there with a child, you have to be careful that you behave correctly according to your expectations, otherwise she will put you in your place in a very unfriendly way. 0 tolerance! I'm not coming back.

We sat on the terrace, good sun protection, with a direct view of the playground - the parents can keep an eye on their children! Légère, cozy, excellent food, competent, attentive service. Children's playground: gravel floor, closed shoes are an advantage.

The Ziegelhütte impresses with a beautiful garden and a great culinary experience. A reservation at this restaurant is recommended. I was impressed by the cordon bleu with plenty of cheese and the perfectly prepared veal liver with rösti. The prices are reasonable and the friendly staff ensures an overall pleasant stay. The food is great and the outdoor patio is perfect for enjoying summer weather. I recently experienced a very friendly server who allowed me to order a piece of Streuselkuchen (highly recommended), even though I arrived after closing time :).

The food takes a while, but it is very good and most of the service staff are friendly. However, there is an older lady with short gray hair in the service who is almost unfriendly and almost aggressive. And unfortunately they serve very often... which means I no longer go to this restaurant.

Thank you and goodbye Today we wanted to fortify ourselves with our dog in the Ziegelhütte and continue hiking. It took 5 minutes until you finally had someone from the company in front of you. The reason was that no one felt the slightest obligation to welcome a guest. Finally caught an employee and was half-heartedly assigned a place. After waiting for more than 20 minutes without any interaction from the "professionals", we decided to leave the restaurant for the last time. Reason: The waitress was completely overwhelmed, there was no structure in the way she worked and while other so-called “service employees” were apparently assessing the situation from a distance. Any other customers were seated and their orders were also taken. We were avoided. So.... Just as an aside, correct and transparent communication with paying customers is a must!! If not, you can also call yourself a canteen. So the price-performance ratio is simply suboptimal. Not to mention the underground service. With us you lose long-standing customers who have never experienced anything like this. Thanks for the insights and good luck!

The shortage of skilled workers was clearly noticeable. We waited 90 minutes for lunch. The starter came after about 30 minutes. The same again after 50 minutes. The first main course, sausage/cheese salad, was not served with the other dishes. We had to accept the zander with asparagus lukewarm. It's a shame, we're giving this great restaurant a second chance because we've only had the best experiences in the past.

Good start! Nice table caught in the garden. (Actually only for food, but we were allowed to stay seated for coffee and cake!) However, disappointing afterwards... First, 2 of 5 desserts were brought. After about 15 minutes, the almost cold coffee and cappuccino with collapsed milk foam were brought. Chocolate Mélange--> cold milk with separate chocolate powder, without cream!? Dessert ok, but puny for the price! Proud price, (but the missing cream is nice on the bill!) Performance very disappointing. Actually, any defect should be reported immediately. But it's also rather difficult-->were served by 3 people in such a short time.

This is a classic eatery located on the outskirts of Zurich. The spacious dining room is comfortably furnished, the service is very friendly and what comes out of the kitchen is also impressive. In summer, the quiet outdoor area invites you to linger.

Two times of Zurich Geschnetzletes, sorry, terrible attention from your chef, small portion with little to almost no meat, the usual portion, quality of meat sufficient and the Rösti, oh my God crispy was just the first name... two Rösti to be served in two completely different colors ...I find something very unprofessional, and I would have shown myself as a chef in person...and well, dessert was very nice...offering a coffee was found to be a somewhat unimaginative savior. We would still like to thank you for your efforts and send you a thoughtful greeting.

Very special menu - perhaps a bit too sought after menu compositions - something less 'exclusive' would probably be appropriate. The prices for food are disproportionate to the quality and quantity. Unfortunately! Otherwise great!
