The food at Ochsen is excellent...the service is very friendly. Since the atmosphere in the rooms is also important to me, I am rather disappointed. A venerable house but decoration would be less more and too many artificial flowers and knick-knacks...a shame

We ate very well, nice surprise for this establishment. Too bad they don't provide ventilation. We smell too much of the kitchen.

Wir waren an zwei Abenden dort und wurden jeweils sehr freundlich und aufmerksam empfangen und bedient. Das Curry war jeweils ausgezeichnet, das Wild ebenfalls; einzig die Spätzli überzeugten nicht unbedingt und bei der Vorspeise waren die Ravioli leider innen noch kalt (aber geschmacklich ebenso super wie die Pilze!).

Cozy restaurant with Italian flair and a varied menu

We visited Widder Restaurant for lunch. On Thursdays and Fridays you can also experience Stefan Heilemann's cuisine in the afternoon for CHF160 (wine accompaniment CHF70), and we think it's definitely worth the money. Mr. Heilemann is not afraid of intense flavors and so almost all of his dishes are real flavor bombs. The Asian inspirations can also be felt everywhere, which often results in surprising combinations. In my opinion, the desserts would be the best I have ever had in the restaurant. Compared to salty dishes, they are less intense, but they round off the meal perfectly with their different textures and colors. We'll definitely come back.
