BIG Baba's in Zürich

My visit to Big Baba's was simply amazing! The burgers were absolutely delicious and definitely some of the best I've ever tasted. But the highlight for me was the baklava - simply heavenly! The combination of savory burgers and a sweet baklava was just perfect. The service was great, the staff friendly and attentive. The atmosphere in the restaurant was welcoming and relaxed. Big Baba's has definitely found a special place in my heart (and stomach). I can't wait to come back! An absolute must for all burger and dessert lovers!

This was my second time at Big Babas. On the first visit I tried the chicken kebab and today I went for the shamwara without fries but with the hot tomato sauce and garlic mayo. All inclusive. I have to be honest: in terms of taste, they are right at the top of my bestseller list. If the meat were grilled on charcoal, the shop would look less elegant (outstanding), which would benefit the authentic enjoyment of the kebab (quantity of meat). In this case I would even do a hand serenade, maybe even set up an OnlyFans account ;)

Overall very satisfied, only the Dürüm could have used a little more sauce for my taste, but I can mention that on the next visit ^-^. Everything is great here!

The shawarma is very well priced and you get a very good portion that also tastes very good!

Vegan options are miserable. Normal cocktail sauce or yogurt sauce is used in the vegan kebab and I wasn't even sure whether the meat substitute was really vegan. I also had to wait a long time even though it wasn't rush hour... Very unsatisfactory...

Unfortunately for me it was a pretty disappointing experience. The kebab had very little filling and the amount of meat in particular was saved a lot. I was hardly full afterwards and had to buy something somewhere else. The taste was OK, nothing more. The staff was acceptably friendly.

My order through FoodNow was canceled without explanation, and when I called them, no one answered. Am very disappointed.

Quite a good kebab for Zurich or Swiss standards. I was born in a kebab area (Ruhr area, DE). I like the sauces, slightly minty aroma, yogurt and cocktail taste very fine when mixed. I also like the salad garnish, especially the red cabbage and carrots. I like flatbread to be a little more elastic, not so brittle and dry. Maybe a matter of preference. But the taste of the bread is okay. But the most important thing about kebab is actually the meat. It's just a rotisserie (veal version), not a "real" kebab. Unfortunately, I haven't found a shop in Zurich that makes its own skewers. You can clearly see it by the small square base, which serves as a suspension ex works. In my home country, for example, it is often the case that the skewer is made from scratch. There are also differences depending on the region of origin in Turkey where the shopkeepers come from when it comes to seasoning and meat cuts. In terms of quality and taste, there are simply differences between industrial porridge and self-selected and seasoned meat slices. I like both, but rotisserie just doesn't come close to complete pieces of meat. The overall package is quite good, we always like it, we really like going there when we're craving something. The price is also very reasonable, you won't be completely stuffed, but you'll still be full from the portion. Service has always been very friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere is very cozy and inviting for a snack bar. As far as I could see, everything is clean and well maintained.

Doesn't stick to the delivery time, huge delay despite not rush hour. When it comes to deliveries, people want to save on meat, with the idea that “the customer can’t complain.”

The flatbread kebab was ridiculously lean with almost no meat in it. There are plus points for the beautiful ambience and the friendly service. The quality of the ingredients was okay, but I would rather buy the kebab somewhere else for that price. 2/5

After a long wait I went to the checkout to order, when our food arrived I couldn't believe my eyes. We ordered kebab in flatbread, there was enough salad but almost no meat in it. When I went to the checkout to pay, I mentioned it, but the response was insufficient. So never go there again to eat anything.

We ate there 2-3 times. The first time on site we had to wait 40 minutes for 2 kebabs and 1 portion of fries (there were only 4 of us in the store) and the food came cold. Once we ordered 2x kebabs with fries on Eat.ch (additional CHF 3.00 each), of course the 2 kebabs came without fries.. just bad service… It's a shame, the location and location are TOP. Never again

Went there for an aperitif, it wasn't comfortable but it was clean, the coffee was very bad and not recommended

The wrong sauce was put in and then only a bit of lettuce with sauce was removed from the top, then a lot of carrots/chabis were put in and the right sauce. You could still taste the wrong sauce. Everything tasted like Rüebli&Chabis. Not much meat in it.

Today I got take away a kebab in a pocket bread and a kebab in a flatbread. Both identical. The kebab in the pocket bread was ok. Tastes good, not in a “traditional” pocket bread but a kind of Giabatta with sesame. Something else. A little less meat in the kebab for my taste. The kebab in my colleague's flatbread was an absolute disgrace. I'm sorry but there was practically no meat in it. Very little on the edge and the rest stuffed with salad and vegetables...If we hadn't been too far away we would have brought it back. There is an extreme amount of meat saved. That's the reason why I won't go there anymore. I feel ripped off. Sorry...

A very nice place. Prices are okay (for Switzerland), nice and fast service and, most importantly, delicious kebab. The meat is juicy and soft, everything is fresh, salad, fries and very good sauces. It's such simple food, nothing fancy, but it's very tasty and you can eat for a reasonable price, and the portions are really big. You can see that they care, they are not focused on a single customer, rather they want the customer to come back and we will be happy to come back. I recommend!

I tried the beef burger and it was amazing. They took an American classic to a different level. I loved the crispy onions and the bacon. The meat was cooked medium well which is what I like in a burger. The presentation is great and the service was outstanding. All and all a solid casual option for a late night bite.

Great restaurant/snack bar. The burgers are big and you'll feel full even without a side dish. If you can eat outside when the weather is nice, it's pleasant despite the main road. Trees, bushes and parasols add some ambience.

Delicious falafel, the spicy sauce is fabulous. The service is friendly, they care a lot about customer satisfaction. Nice environment, the garden is a green oasis a stone's throw from Lindenplatz.

I'm sitting on the terrace, the waiter serves a table of two with fake drinks and completely ignores me despite eye contact and a friendly smile. It's not that it was full, there were 3 of us in total on the terrace. What do you mean by hospitality? Or are you a washing machine? Sorry, not working at all!

We have eaten a vegan kebab at Big Babas several times. Really fantastic! Choice of flatbread or ciabatta. We are very satisfied. Really good value for money. And the staff are always friendly and in a good mood.

The food was mediocre, schwarma didn't have much flavor. The chicken kebab was good. Fine sauce. The interior design is beautiful.

In my opinion the reviews are written very unfairly… We went to Big Babas for the first time today and the food, service and ambience were very, very good. The products used are fresh and the service is extremely friendly. Give the boys a chance, we loved it and will happily come back, thank you 🙏🏼!

Positive: the restaurant looks nice and clean, design inspiration clearly Ayverdi Negative - Waited 30 minutes for the kebab - the bread fell apart after the first bite - The bread wasn't one of the two on display in the display case (didn't have sesame on it...) - the ingredients were very poorly distributed, a pile only spicy, a corner only onions Unfortunately, more appearance than reality.

We waited half an hour for our two kebabs. The waitress then placed the plates in front of us without comment (a small “sorry it took longer” would have been enough). The kebab itself was nothing special, especially all the sauce was at the bottom of the bread. I ordered an extra avocado for 3 francs and got a half-brown avocado sauce. Both of our bread completely fell apart while we were eating and the sauce completely leaked out from the bottom. 20 francs for such a kebab including a drink is completely excessive.

There has been a change of ownership at Big Baba's. The restaurant wasn't exactly the best restaurant to consume something before, but unfortunately I have to say it has gotten worse. The waiting time for a coffee has never been less than 10 minutes. The service is very friendly, but what's the point if the service has no idea and forgets you every time. The whole thing seems very amateurish to me and more specialist knowledge is urgently needed

A good kebab. Not spicy as promised, but juicy. However, the waiting time for take away takes far too long, even with a small number of people, so I will go somewhere else next time.

Today I ordered a kebab and Baklava via Uber, the chicken was completely burnt and tasted very bad to eat. I bought it with money, so why did you give me burnt kebab? I have never had such a bad kebab and Baklava in my life. The taste was so bad that i think I threw my 24 CHF in the dustbin.

We were very surprised and ordered 2 VEGAN kebabs in flatbread. EXCELLENT! The flatbread was wafer thin: excellent! The kebab and vegetables are fresh and tasty. We recommend!

For me, the taste is 5 stars, but CHF 15.- for the standard kebab is just a little TOO much. Edit1: Please don't decrease the amount of filling in the kebab now. The last order was a little less and for 15.- it just has to be well filled. Taste 1A. Edit2: Today it was perfect again.

It's an okay kebab. The beef version is decidedly better than the chicken. The product is a bit more premium than your average kebab joint but not quite reaching the 'high end' offering in town. I quite appreciated the sleek and sturdy delivery box but unfortunately one of the kebabs did not conform to my order specifics which was a shame. My biggest issue was the salt content which was through the roof - couldn't sleep properly after eating as I constantly needed to drink!

We were at BIG Baba's for the first time today and were greeted/served very warmly and friendly. Our chicken kebab with panini bread was surprisingly delicious! We'll be back and would be happy to recommend it!

The restaurant is brand new so I wanted to try it out. I took a kebab in pita bread. And it was actually in a pita bread. I've never seen such a kebab before. Unfortunately, the price for this kebab is far too high. The kebab would have been really good but unfortunately it was far too dry even though we ordered with a lot of sauce. Maybe the Dürüm is better there. Just try it out for yourself!
