I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Café Beau-Rivage at the hotel of the same name in Ouchy, Lausanne. Nested across the lake shore, the restaurant is equally pleasant either its food options. Highly recommended if in Lausanne.

Exceptional experience at Café Beau Rivage! Everything was perfect, from the delicious food to the cozy atmosphere. Special mention to Thibaut, an efficient waiter with a lot of humor, who really added to our pleasure, as well as to Giulia who was able to be professional and friendly even before our arrival! A must-have to recommend without hesitation!

The service leaves something to be desired! We waited 30 minutes for the bill, no one worried about us even though it was my birthday! In addition, the cuisine is very unrefined: my veal was flavorless, with 3 roughly cut vegetables and no seasoning! We will not come back!

I have come several times to eat, and I must say that I have never been disappointed apart from the last time when I really had the impression of being taken for a pigeon. After spending 300 chf on a meal for 2, i.e. a bottle at 100 chf, the waiter spontaneously offered me 2 glasses of chartreuse at the end of the meal, which I understood as a nice gesture to introduce me to this digestive. Except that I am charged 20 chf on the bill for each glass. I kindly remark, the sorry waiter referred to the head waiter who looks at us out of the corner of her eye and decides to make us pay for a drink out of the two anyway, calling into question my good faith. She could have come in person, the waiter was extremely annoyed by this situation. Too bad this incident ruined the time we had and I didn't leave a tip although normally I leave at least 20 chf which amounts to the glass charged to finish. Not worthy of a palace in any case.

Excellent meal at this establishment! Irish oysters and mushroom puff pastry: fantastic! The quality of the meat in the tartare was excellent but it lacked a little taste despite a correction. This is probably due to a sauce that needed to be prepared. Moreover, we could observe that the “link” was not perfect. A bottle of Pinot de Savièse accompanied everything in this restaurant with a cozy and tasteful atmosphere. As for the staff, they are very professional and friendly. We will come back to this.

A historic establishment of very good quality. An elegant restaurant and young, very professional staff, very smiling and very attentive. The menu is worthy of this luxury brasserie; Be careful with the prices though. These can quickly rise if you don't take care of the small options offered: an egg casserole with foie gras and black truffle for €30 increases to €58 with white truffle. Not for a moment was there any mention of an increase or even such an increase. The portion of game bird pie increases by 60% for barely more quantity when it becomes a main course. Average price per person without drinks: Starter - main course 110 CHF with dessert 150 CHF

Today we ordered three servings of soup, mine was not bad, my companions' was bitter. We changed two soups, but they were still bitter and my friends refused the dish. I ate half my portion, after which I felt sick, had a heavy stomach and then vomited. It looks like bile or some bitter fish innards got into the soup. The soup cost 26 francs and all three portions were included in the bill!!! which we were forced to pay. The restaurant staff pretended that nothing had happened!!! I hope that with these 78 francs the chef will buy himself a master class on preparing quality food worthy of such an establishment.

Top 5 dinner ever. We were staying at the hotel and someone at the pool recommended it. Sat outside looking at the lake. Very pretty setting. Everything was perfect. The service was friendly and on point. The food was perfection. I started with a burrata and tomato salad and it was fantastic. On the menu there was an option to add truffles to another dish and I asked if I could add it to the salad and they said of course. And it was so good! For an entree I had perch, a local favorite. About 10 filets, lightly breaded and grilled in butter. It was fantastic. Dessert was the highlight. It was an orange soufflé, but cold and made from an ice cream like texture. The waitress paired it with a dessert wine and it may be the best dessert I’ve ever tasted. Everything was so elegant. I would come back to Lausanne just to eat here again.

Perfect! I only had 30 minutes for lunch at 12 p.m. The service was excellent and the food even more so! Bravo! I was on time for my next meeting! Thank you for the flexibility. 👍😊

A big thank you to the entire CBR team for this wonderful time we spent as a family. The atmosphere on the terrace in summer is very pleasant, the food was delicious: well-cooked fish, original and very well made dish (lobster ravioli). The service was perfect and very attentive.

First of all check the receipt before you pay, they add more things that I never ordered!! So the service was good until I ordered my cola from the guy and he ignored me and never brought it.

A restaurant accessible through park next to the lake. Appetizers were good. Main course overall was so so. Fish dish was better than beef or lamb. Prices was high.

Not far from the water's edge, this restaurant welcomes you on the terrace and inside with a very beautiful seasonal menu. The dishes are far from those of a brasserie, but rather a taste of the starred restaurant of Beau-Rivage. Freshness, fusion of flavors, local products and originality of pairings make this restaurant a wonderful stopover in your visit to Lausanne. The service is attentive and gives you time to enjoy your dishes. Swiss wines by the glass are very good and offered at good prices.

A soothing moment at the beautiful shore. After settling in we very quickly had a nice choice of wines for aperitifs. The selection is short and the sommelier gives us good advice. The wait was long before taking our order but the quality of the dishes more than made up for this misstep. I had the polenta as a starter, the cod fillet as a main course. The starter is very beautiful and delicious. The cod was cooked very well and the accompaniment was good even if it was slightly lacking in seasoning. To finish with the bill we have the madeleines straight from the oven. In short, service and dishes close to perfection!

The dishes were OK but much too expensive for the quality I ordered a veal rice which was rather good, but for 60fr it is not worth comparing to other restaurants much less expensive and with much more research and the dessert menu is non-existent except for the floating island chocolate mousse and other classics, in short, not at all what we came to look for in this establishment

The cafe is a wonderful place to have lunch. Also, just walking through this majestic building and absorbing all the art and intricate building details is very plleasing. As to the cafe, the service is impeccable by the staff and a pleasure to enjoy. As to the meals, we have a mixed opinion. As we are vegetarians, we contacted the restaurant in advance, and we agreed on two types of salads as starter and either tortellini or gnocci as main dishes. The food was wel presented as can be seen from the photos. However, the salad with the orange pieces was quite bitter and not to my taste. With a table partner, we swapped the salads, and luckily, the green salad with parmigiano was well seasoned and tasted delicious. I had the tortellini dish, and while the cheese tortellini was good, the combination with a bitter vegetable and a lot of lemon sauce overpowered the tortellini totally. It was not really enjoyable. On the other hand, the persons who had taken the gnocci were very complementary and happy with their dish.

The service is the very bright point. Impeccable. Friendly but professional. The food selection is rather good. The food quality can be good. On my last visit it really really wasn't. Filets de perche were barely eadible (usually excellent). Beef tartare was okayish. Beef fillet was passable. First course pumpkin with chèvre was simply not good. Maybe the chef was out on the 31st. Had I not tasted it many times before the review would be 0 stars.

We had a wonderful experience. Everything was just incredible, super-kind staff, amazing food, and special Christmas decorations. We took the long way in, through the hotel lobby. * Two adults, two kids age 5 and age 1.5 * There is an extensive kids menu.

A delicious Parisian bistro-style café...the scallop capriccio and the chocolate mousse are a must! Well done

Season dictates, we opted for wild boar terrine as a starter and saddle of venison as a main course. Careful cuisine and particularly generous portions, to the point that we had to give up desserts, their strong point. Decoration and atmosphere always very serene and friendly staff.

Racist or even discriminatory restaurant we wanted to reserve, we were politely told that it was full (foreign numbers plus accent!) I asked a Swiss friend to call back immediately afterwards (Swiss numbers and Swiss accent!) and miraculously there was room. place ! We will report!

We were lucky enough to be able to taste the fabulous Brunch at the Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne. First of all, I would like to point out that it is essential to reserve your brunch and that the waiting time can be more or less long depending on the period (1 month of easy waiting throughout the year, see more). The hotel parking lot is available to guests, make sure it is free in view of certain events that may take place. The service is impeccable, the staff smiling, helpful and friendly. We were able to have brunch on the terrace with the added bonus of a lovely summer sun. A glass of champagne is served to you as an aperitif, then you can freely go to the different buffets: sweets, cold buffer, hot buffet and dessert buffet. Everything was delicious! Little advice: don't eat anything before going there so you can appreciate every treat of the brunch.

Our whole experience was impeccable. Top notch service, great food, and beautiful views. Right next to the lake. Classy. Timeless. I especially loved the entrance to the restaurant with all the photos of past famous guests and their messages to the hotel.

Perch fillets poorly cooked and very expensive. Absolutely avoid.

A wonderful place to wine and dine or just ponder over a glass and enjoy very good service and some great food. Bring a book and ponder over the lake whilst sipping on a glass. And yes the service is always PERFECT!

Decent food, but excessive prices. For example, 48 Fr. for a simple tartare plus fries, or 58 Fr. for perch fillets whose presentation is very basic and which contain many bones. Or around fifteen francs more expensive for this last dish compared to restaurants of the same level of quality in the region. This price is certainly related to the location of the restaurant in a five-star hotel.

We were aware of the negative reviews from this restaurant but were hoping it could not be that bad, we were wrong..We ordered asparagus with hollandaise sauce for starters, the sauce tasted horrible, asparagus tasted bitter. It costs 36fr ( each ) so we were expected better than this. We were so disappointed and cancelled the rest of the order. We had to move to another restaurant in the hotel instead.However, the waiter was very nice even tho the manager could have handled the situation a bit more professional.

Zum Mittag gab es: mignon de veau du pays, filets de perche (Eglifilets) und die Sole. Alles sehr schön präsentiert. Vor allem waren die filet de perches (vom Genfersee, gemäss Anfrage) hervorragend, Das Personal sehr freundlich....alles in allem ein sehr guter Lunch, trotz hohen Preisen; top Lage inklusive!

Elegí el Café porque a un amigo le gusta mucho la buena mesa, pero solo habíamos hecho planes el día anterior, así que tuve que hacer una reserva rápida.¡Había estado en la foto de Anne - Sophie en el Beau - Rivage por mi cumpleaños y había estado entusiasmado con esa comida durante años! ¡Es una maldita genialidad y su brigada ejecutó esa comida a la perfección! El sumiller eligió los vinos perfectos para acompañar cada plato. El plato principal de vension se servía con un tinto de Ticino que me preocupaba seriamente cuando lo probé por primera vez (demasiado arcilloso para mí al principio), pero era casi alquimia lo mucho que el vino mejoraba el venado y viceversa.Sin embargo, esta no es una revisión de la imagen de Anne - Sophie en el Beau - Rivage. Se trata de Caf Beau - Rivage. Esperaba mucho más, mucho más.Entonces, para la comida, tuve el foie gras como entrante. Había tantos nervios fibrosos en él que no era comestible para mí. Además, estaba demasiado cocido porque se había extraído tanta grasa que básicamente cubría las tres cuartas partes del plato con un líquido amarillo brillante.Para mi plato principal, pedí lo que se había promocionado como trucha fresca de Lac L man (lago de Ginebra). No lo sé. Creo que es porque estaba avergonzado delante de mis amigos por la calidad de la comida y que había sugerido el Café en primer lugar.Entonces por el servicio. Los camareros eran buenos y acogedores. Un servidor notó que mi amiga tenía frío (estábamos afuera en la terraza) y le compró una pequeña manta. La única "queja menor" fue que fueron un poco lentos al notar los niveles en nuestras copas de vino y rellenar. Fueron profesionales, cálidos y acogedores.Para un restaurante de estilo "brasserie", la relación calidad / precio realmente no cumplió con mis expectativas. Fue más que caro para la calidad de lo que recibimos. He vivido en Suiza durante casi 20 años, así que sabía que sería más caro que una Brasserie promedio (después de todo, es el Beau - Rivage). Pero, sinceramente, estaba realmente decepcionado. Esperaba tener una buena comida en un ambiente agradable con buenos amigos, uno de los cuales nunca había estado en Lausana. En cambio, terminé pasando la mayor parte de mi tiempo en el Café disculpándome por mi elección de restaurante.

Después del check - in en su hotel, visitamos este restaurante para tomar una copa y comer algo durante el almuerzo. El maître no fue muy amable cuando llegamos y parecía que no éramos bienvenidos hasta que mencioné que éramos huéspedes del hotel (nos veíamos lo suficientemente presentables para este lugar de clase alta). Quería pedir un martini de vodka seco y les pregunté si servían martinis (ya que no es un bar) y tuvieron que verificar y regresaron con un sí. Pedí específicamente un martini muy seco con no más de una gota de vermú. Cuando llegó el martini, tenía tanto vermú que sabía a Martini Bianco con un trago de vodka y no se servía frío. ¡Otra mala experiencia de martini en Suiza! Los pequeños bocados que tuvimos estaban muy bien presentados, pero el sabor era normal. El camarero no volvió a llenar nuestros vasos de agua e incluso cuando tanto los vasos como la botella de agua mineral estaban vacíos, no preguntó si queríamos otra botella. Cuando terminamos el almuerzo, los platos no fueron retirados por algún tiempo aunque nuestro camarero y otros camareros pasaron por nuestra mesa y deben haber notado que habíamos terminado. Sin embargo, el pan era bueno, pero en general sigue siendo una mala experiencia de servicio y no volvimos a visitar este restaurante durante nuestra estancia.

A bit posh because it is part of a luxurt hotel but food and staff are amazing. I recommend fish dishes, fera or sea bass.

Un établissement très huppé, un personnel rodé et parfait hormis une fâcheuse tendance à presser le consommateur pour terminer le service plus rapidement.Nous apprécierons un gaspacho melon et pastèque irréprochable, des couteaux succulents puis des filets de perche meunière. Tout est bon, frais mais sans génie culinaire d’autant que les prix sont, eux, stratosphériques : compter plus de 150€ par convive...En un mot, à conseiller aux consommateurs peu soucieux des prix et de l’originalité...

Beautiful restaurant with wonderful food! The setting is perfect with a great terrace looking onto the lake. I'm coeliac and they catered for me with no problems! What was lovely is the staff were very down to earth and friendly which is not often the case in high end restaurants!

Decor plaisant , bel accueil et excellent service.La carte reste originale de saison ainsi que les classiques, Les prix sont ceux d'un Palace. Nous a avons très bien mangé , plats gouteux avec des cuissons justes.Le magret excellent, la quenelle servie avec une très bonne sauce, les filets de perche du lac vu la basse saison sont très frais et notre soupe de poisson bonne , manque un peu de safran ou une tombée d'anis.Desert au chariot dont des gateaux qui font envie et qui sont bons.La carte des vins ouvert manque un peu d'originalité.A bientôt et merci

Un assortiment de légumes vieux, réchauffés, et brûlés = ma dernière expérience de restauration au Beau Rivage. Horriblement cher, un scandale. Le service de restauration actuelle exploite une "adresse" dans une salle à manger héritée de l'époque où la qualité des mets étaient en rapport avec le cadre. L'agencement d'aujourd'hui est "pauvre", par exemple les dessertes sont en stratifié premier prix, avec les bases défoncées. Cette adresse est une misère et lance de la poudre aux yeux.

C’est la première fois que je poste un avis sur internet, peu coutumier de la chose, mais cette fois, c’est nécessaire. En ce lundi soir, il a été choquant de voir si peu de monde au service malgré une salle comble. Une brasserie palace en manque cruelle d’effectif, cela se voit clairement. Malgré tout cela et l’équipe faisait ce qu’elle pouvait et étaient au rendez-vous. C’est désolant qu’un tel établissement soit à un tel niveau de peine. Nous sommes des habitués de longue date et cela devient gênant de venir manger ici, de contribuer et constater se désastre humain.
