Café César in Luzern

Very unfriendly service, food and also the cakes are not good. Doesn't make sense to waste such a beautiful spot on the lake for this Café. Could have much more potential!

Nothing against the lady who runs the bar alone on a Saturday. But doing SELFSERVICE in a hotspot like this is subterranean. Waiting time around 30 minutes. Signage outside is also a disaster.

Self service by the lake and a sign that says pizza on it. You can get a baked frozen pizza at a very high price. You can get your own drinks at the bar, that's ok. Service could be friendlier and more motivated.

I have no idea why others give good reviews, it's rude and unmotivated. Never again !! 😡

hello , i just used two coffes but she didn't know to make espresso machiato and dopio espresso machiato , than when we drink terrible coffee i found a stone in my coffe 😱i recomend to never ever drink coffe here ✌️

Pizza was good and the service was great, very kind.

Service was fine, location is great, but seriously...$25 for a salad with *canned* tuna as the main protein?! For the ingredients in this salad and prep involved, the markup in price had to be something like a factor of 3-4. That's ridiculous. The only reason I didn't complain there is, I'm pretty sure it wasn't the waitresses' decision.

Nice cafe near the waterfront, but little outdoor seating. Between the street and the boules - place not so quiet, inside quite dark and old-fashioned. Coffee and cake were delicious but also quite expensive. No parking spaces but quick and friendly service, toilet in the building

Good location near the lake. For self-service, the prices are likely to be more moderate and lower and an additional 50 cents will be charged when paying by card. Unfortunately, the tables are often overcrowded with dishes and are not always so inviting for a visit.

Very cozy and therefore worth visiting regularly. The staff is very accommodating and even regularly carried the breakfast tray outside for me, despite it being self-service.

The only thing that bothered me was that when my daughter became acutely sick and we urgently needed to go to the bathroom, there was a small mishap and she threw up in front of the toilet. Embarrassed, I went to the staff to tell them about our bad luck. She stared at me in disbelief and said she would bring a bucket so I could clean it. I understand that something like this is extremely annoying, but somehow I was very surprised by this charming reaction.

We spontaneously went to Café Cesar on Sunday to have a drink. We had to get to the café ourselves (which is okay) and wait in line for 15 minutes. Four people were behind the counter and seemed completely overwhelmed. Apparently paying 20 francs for the cafes was a problem. The location on the lake was of course great. Would not visit or recommend it again.

Very nice café in the heart of Lucerne with a view of Lake Lucerne. The range of different cafes and very tasty cakes and apple strudel. The only downside is that you sometimes have to queue a little longer.

We liked it and the apple strudel massively improved the mood ;-)

Fine Älplernakronen and the boss is courteous and great service. I like to sit on the terrace there even when it's not that warm.

Decent food, but we had to send the soup back because it was unbelievably salty. The staff was very nice and understanding, though. Prices are a bit high though average for Switzerland.

Great place with excellent champagne...

A place where you can always get a perfect coffee and espresso, but also cake or a croissant in the morning. The place is also not to be despised for a simple, inexpensive lunch. I had croissants with minced meat and applesauce, but it can only be more Swiss with raclette or fondue, which is not available here. Top place where I always go when I'm on the city side.

My favorite café in Lucerne. Outdoor terrace in a top location. Really very friendly service. Delicious cake and small snacks. Very good coffee. Ambience very appealing and partly with a view of Pilatus. I feel completely at home with you and am always happy to come back.

The service on February 21st at Cafe Cesar was beyond poor. Even though the cafe was almost empty, we were able to order after 10 minutes. The service staff could barely speak German and were friendly but didn't understand what bread meant. The portions of the food were very small and the servelat salad was a sliced ​​servelat without sauce with sliced ​​fish smelling cucumbers and sliced ​​tomatoes with a 1/4 teaspoon of onions and practically no sauce. Way too expensive for a self-service coffee bar with bad coffee. Better a Latesso from the Coop, it's cheaper and tastes better. But the location is really good and it is very peaceful.

Very nice café/bar with a nice view. There is no children's menu which is not a problem if the children eat as adults. The prices are decent, but the food is very good and tasty, the staff is very friendly and the conditions are good. I would recommend it but less for families.

It's okay. The food is a little pricey because you are in Switzerland. The menu is fairly small but there are nice things available. The strudel was definitely heated in the microwave and it suffered.
