Café LaDiva in Basel

Stylish decor and decor. Bench seating with nice cushions by the window. I enjoyed my morning coffee time with friends, but it's also a great space for alone time. I thought the prices were a little high, but considering the friendly staff and atmosphere, I think it's worth going. Next time, I would like to try a light meal on the terrace on a warm day.

Good coffee, open on Sundays, places to sit outside and inside, nice service, smaller cups for children and nut-free croissants. We would love to come again ♥️

Very elegant shop. The ambience is very inviting and literally pulls you in from across the street. The prices are very fair and the menu itself varies quite a bit. The owner was also very friendly and open to a nice conversation. The music was also very inspiring and authentic. I warmly recommend this store.

The atmosphere is good, but unfortunately the boss is rude to the point of being unfriendly. The double espresso was okay for Swiss standards, but the price was a bit high at CHF 6. I would question the hygiene, I saw him putting his fingers into the mint that would end up in the tea, but I didn't see anything about hand washing. Unfortunately no card payment possible. The toilet was clean.

I simply cannot agree with the previous reviews at all. In addition to the very cozy atmosphere, I also find the staff to be very friendly and always available for a chat. “La Diva” is an oasis in the neighborhood and offers many a place to relax and meet up. Keep it up.

Service from the boss was very unfriendly, came into the bar and ordered an espresso as soon as I came in, the boss heard that and came back to me and asked me for the second time, couldn't even answer my cell phone because it was apparently too loud Not even a warning was given and they were immediately shouted at. And I left that store straight away. Tap water drinkers are preferred, very unpleasant staff.

The coffee offers a very nice ambience. This is best enjoyed when the host is away. He is very lunatic and often reprimands customers with his bossy manner. I was once a loyal regular customer. Luckily not anymore! The innkeeper found a reason to reprimand me every time I was there! Why? I asked him that, I'm still waiting for an answer! They were often trifles on his part. He was looking for an excuse, for whatever reason. I am an academic. However, I am currently completing a second training course as a primary school teacher. Unfortunately, this man is totally out of place! He was once a chef. He should return there!

Very nice coffee both the interior and the small terrace. The service was extremely courteous and friendly. The coffee was excellent and the prices are fair. I recommend this place without hesitation.

Warm, cosy, atmospheric, great music, charming & lovely staff. I'm new to Basel & the guy serving me introduced me to the local regulars. He also treated me to a light snack & was super generous & chatty with all the customers. This place already feels like home. I can tell I'll be a regular too :) Slightly arty, leftie feel to the place ( super!) and attracts young & old, good for solo or groups. Spacious. Does alcohol & cakes too.

Small, nice cafe in a student style. Dishes and cutlery appear to be stubbled together. Cappuccino good, but not barista quality. Homemade fruit jam. Newspapers available. Attentive service. Sometimes there are also small concerts there.

Cozy cafe/tearoom. Very good coffee/tea, otherwise no highlights. . Unfortunately, the service is often unfriendly and not attentive. I never feel welcome there, music is modern, horrible rap, too loud. At least moderate prices, coffee only Fr. 4 - a rarity in Basel! Recommended? Rather no, this is also due to the leadership, which is often absent. Students as temporary workers? Not a good idea..

Incredibly unfriendly service. The boss? After I asked her to turn the music down a little, her mood - which had previously been almost zero - seemed to sink immeasurably. Half an hour later we were punished by the fact that she left the front door wide open in the winter cold - apparently she couldn't stand the smell of perfume. Wrong person in the right place.

Horrible service, staff is more interested in chatting on Smartphones and calling friends than serving customers.

My favorite cafe in Basel. Quiet, cozy and really sweet and simple. Prices are also very fair. Great for studying or doing something on your laptop, it even has WiFi.

made bad experiences. Unfortunately the boss was extremely unfriendly :( after the first visit I gave the whole thing a second chance and a third... but it was always the same. I won't go there again due to these circumstances and I can't give it more than one star
