delicious, but way too expensive! 6.80 for a coffee, 9.20 for a small sandwich!

Good pastries and good coffee, but 17 fr. for a cappuccino, a smooth coffee and a hazelnut croissant it seems a little expensive to me.

Always friendly with a nice smile and a personal word for the customers. And the sandwiches always taste very good.

We came all the way from Geneva and a friend recommended this place... and we did NOT regret it at all... 👍👍

Best Confiserie in Zürich in my humble opinion. Sprüngli is overrated nect to Eric's. The Tuna Fish sandwiches are mind blowing, so are the desserts. Just a pity, the location is in Balgrist and far from the city center. Friendly team and service. Always looking forward passing by after my physiotherapy.

Rating ONLY applies to BIRCHER MÜESLI: super sweet or catastrophically sweet!! condensed milk plus sugar plus canned fruit (sweetened canned pineapple!!), sweetened mandarins (not mentioned on the label), but the raspberries mentioned are missing. Conclusion: for CHF 8.50 for a small bircher muesli that has nothing to do with healthy eating, but was simply an inedible sugar bomb, extremely disappointing. But I would also like to emphasize that so far all other products such as cakes etc. have been excellent!!

Tuna fish and butter pretzels are the best I've ever had! Chocolates are a great gift for others (or yourself) and are gone in no time. Nice café and very friendly service.

The prices are absurdly high, even for Zurich. 2 small sandwiches + 1 chocolate croissant for 18.- 😅 I know cafes with better locations that also offer handmade sandwiches every day and are almost half the price.

It's great for a cozy coffee. Since it's not that loud despite there being a lot of people, you can also have a good conversation. Fine croissants, canapes and sweets are also available to eat right at the table.

Nice place but the service in the room was forgettable... I'm not a native German speaker and the waitress continued to speak to me in dialect even though I didn't understand... a lady sitting at a table near me was shocked... I think I'll never go back

Friendly staff, sandwich was fine. Chairs and tables were not clean. Lots of dogs, seemed unhygienic.

Bakery, pastry shop and confectionery: everything first class, many of our own specialties. The café/restaurant: the only one of its kind far and wide. Offer adapted to guests.

Never again !! Very unprofessional, rude and unable to respond to customer needs. We had questions about catering. They couldn't help over the phone, I asked for a call back (which didn't happen), I called again and was told to send an email. I didn't get any response and called again the next day. The lady from the catering department repeated herself to you the whole time, didn't listen to me and couldn't answer my questions correctly (e.g. from what time can you deliver). She kept asking counter questions instead of answering mine. I answered some time and she replied that it was too early (you notice I asked first when it could be delivered). They seem to like to "talk to the customer". At some point I didn't feel like it anymore and we ordered from the Kleiner bakery. From the first call they were super professional and were able to help.

I am referring to the review written by a person of color in which she describes that she received a product from Confiserie Baumann AG in the store called “Mohrenkopftorte”. I find that shameful and, in my view, it lacks any reflection on structural racism and the experience of discrimination that this person had at Confiserie Baumann. Since when has it been left to third parties, in this case customers, to decide which terms can be assigned to products? Does this mean that Confiserie Baumann does not take responsibility for its own actions and simply allows the reproduction of discriminatory patterns to continue? In addition, the product is apparently named directly by a person who works in the confectionery. This is not about "moral apostles," but about the fact that basically everyone can shop in this confectionery without experiencing discrimination. I won't buy anything there again after this reaction from the company.

I go to the patisserie today and when I (a person of color) ask what this brown round cake is, I really have to hear that it is a “Mohrenkopftorte”. When I asked whether this term was really appropriate, the saleswoman replied really flippantly, "I say so!". How can that be? Is that really the image of Confiserie Baumann? Have recent events and debates not stimulated rethinking or increased awareness? I am shocked and can only boycott such a company! Unfortunately you can't give 0 stars...

This confectionery is one of the best/tastiest in all of Switzerland. This morning at 10 a.m. (rush hour) I was amazed to see how the café staff (2service 2 at the café machine) worked like in a picture book. The processes were optimal if not perfectly coordinated and the whole thing was very warm and friendly. Wow, big praise. A culinary delight and perfect service. Keep it up 👍

The quality of your store is top notch but the service is deplorable in the tea room. In 2023 when you enter a public establishment with a mask the FRIENDLY person who thinks they are a waitress should not look at the customer with contempt! I think if you order a cappuccino you can expect to receive one and not just a coffee!! My right and to receive a receipt to pay my consumption, because just telling me an amount in passing is not enough for me. Was it the correct amount? Politeness not being her strong suit, she did not greet us when we left. How sad.

Very bad experience in this bakery. I went there to buy a small bite (little sandwich) and one of the waitress or maybe the owner skipped me from the queue and asked the person behind me instead of me being first in line. On top of that she did a very bad scene in front of other clients due that I only had card to pay and not cash (we are in 2022 woman update yourself). In short, I was disrespected as a client, and screamed at …. I never coming back to that bakery. Fortunately for me there is another bakery to buy goodies just down the route.

I stopped by this shop for lunch between two doctor's appointments. Very unfriendly staff. I have rarely been served in such an unfriendly and annoyed manner. I won't visit the restaurant a second time.

There is nothing there that is not good. Staff very very friendly, we are from Graubünden but the visit is a MUST. Continued success with the beautiful café.

The tuna fish is absolutely amazing, the pretzel roll is slightly crispy and the tuna filling is sensational! The mocha tart isn't really my thing. The cream was a bit too thick for me and reminded me of ice cream in terms of consistency. That's definitely a matter of taste. But in terms of craftsmanship, it's top notch!

Rarely have I been served so poorly and rudely! Not all customers should notice that the employees have problems with each other, especially not if you speak in your own language and make fun of the customers! Since I was coming from a hospital appointment, I wanted to take something to eat, paid for it and noticed that I wasn't feeling well anymore. I sat on the chair for a moment so I wouldn't fall over. The employee came very stressed and told me to take my things and leave because I had decided on take away. I couldn't even say anything about it! I have never been treated so disrespectfully!

If you are willing to pay sFr. for 1 kg of (Parisian) bread. Paying 17.80 (!), which is already rock hard the next morning, will make you happy here. Absurd prices. And no, I don't expect any explanations like "hand-picked flour, harvested by virgins on Mount Sinai on a full moon night" or similar cheap excuses. You are absurdly expensive with very questionable quality (bread).

Was there for the first time for a quick cafe. The pretzel fish roll “amazed” us. I couldn't get it out of my head, it was so delicious! I'll take the 1/2 hour drive again on a Sunday for this one inflict a taste explosion. Staff very very friendly.

I’m 8 months pregnant and coming back from an appointment at the hospital across the street and just missed my tram which only runs every 30 minutes. I went to Eric’s and bought a juice so I could sit on their patio while I wait for the next one and the waitress working outside told my my juice was take away only and I couldn’t sit there. There was plenty of space and I wasn’t taking up a table, I had just sat down in one of the 7 empty patio couch chairs. I found it a bit rude and won’t attempt to go here again. I’m response to the comment that was added by the company - this was no way implied or expressed. There was zero attempt to communicate that. Your waitress was rude and dehumanizing. Your establishment sets a poor example for customer service and basic human sympathy. You should be ashamed of her behavior and how she represented your establishment.

It's worth a short detour to visit this bakery. There are different things to eat, whether sweet or salty, and different drinks. Practical if you have an appointment too early for the appointment via visa at the clinic. Can you strengthen yourself before coming for treatment?

Always liked this place, but for the first time after pandemie the caffe latte was a great disappointment: much more water than milk and just a hint of coffee, very sad indeed

We had a quick breakfast here when we were at the Schulthess Clinic across the street. They have a bunch of round gipfelis (similar to croissants) at the tables, you just pick one and eat. At the end, you tell the waiter how many you have eaten. The desserts also looked great. Next time I will go especially for them. The waiting ladies were really friendly.

You are also treated well as a Büezer. It's a shame almost no parking spaces.

Quality is undeniable, however very high prices. 3 stars are deducted because friendliness is a foreign word among the staff, especially at the counter. You feel like you're in the wrong place. No thanks

I had a salad plate with 2 chicken breasts. It was a large portion; Fine salad and good meat at a low price (for Zurich). Will definitely come back. 👍

Were there quite often, the service was often unfriendly, arrogant and condescending. Even towards older customers who give the snippy answer “You can see that” when they just asked if there was more of a product. It's better to avoid.

The good thing first: the service was extremely nice and accommodating. That's what the two stars are for. Unfortunately, the pretzel croissant was rubbery and didn't taste convincing, and the cappuccino was watery with a strange aftertaste. These extremely mediocre products cost a total of 8! Franconia. This is remarkably cheeky even for Zurich. You won't see me there anymore.

Very fine, great selection but expensive. What I find reprehensible is that Pet-Cola from Italy is sold for around CHF 5. A bakery in particular should rely on regional products. Only 3 stars because I've tried only macaroons! Maybe other pastries are much better. Shop looks nice, staff is really good and professional, also pastries look very good. Unfortunately my main goal of visiting, macaroons, are pretty average with not so average pricing. Some flavors are good, but mostly disappointing, also you can sometimes taste some of them are artificial. Although cookies are very well made and look good, so they definitely know how to make them, just taste average and some flavor combinations are weird and not tasty.
