The restaurant was very busy, but we were able to sit at the bar. We got to watch pizzas being made. Our pizza and salad were both delicious. I don’t eat ham, but my Mom does. They were able to accommodate us and put ham on half.

A stylish cafe.. open buffet and self service.. you fill your plate and have it weighed.. there was breakfast. The dough was delicious inside..

A mish mash of food options. Mostly Indian like pakoras and daal. But not authentic and too bland. Too pricey in the name of vegetarian. I would rather eat at a proper Indian vegetarian restaurant in Zurich, instead of wasting money here.

Absolutely delighted to finally have great vegan food after traveling around Switzerland with barely any vegan food in sight. The location is also fairly convenient right next to the main Zurich HB station. I did take out and it’s an easy enough process. Scoop out food that you want into a takeaway cardboard container (eco-friendly), and bring it to the cash register to get the top for your container and for your food to be weighed. The buffet options were *numerous*, and they even have desserts at the buffet counter. It was like being a kid in a candy store. I also most appreciated the various ingredient/allergen icons, which were so helpful for someone who has any specific food intolerances. I liked it so much that I came back for dinner after taking out for lunch. Not to mention, the service staff were so friendly! The price is a little higher than I would’ve liked but I think that’s just general Swiss prices all around. Highly recommended, even if you’re not vegetarian or vegan.

Good buffet that you pay for the weight of what you carry. Very varied. This establishment is smaller than the one in the city center, but it is very well stocked.

Top vegetarian restaurant! I'm often skeptical about veggie restaurants... However, this place was awesome👍🏼 large selection of different dishes from all over the world. Absolutely recommended 🙌🏼

I think Hiltl always has a great selection with lots of vegetarian and vegan options. What I can definitely recommend is the brownie with an oat milk cappuccino. However, I have to deduct a star because the dishes are very greasy. Even in 2024, healthy fats don't seem to be taken into account here, which means that the food is barely healthier than fast food.

The Hiltl Sihlpost, located close to the ZH HB, has exceptionally good food and a rich buffet with something for everyone. The service is friendly and quick. I'd love to come back :)

Simply fine food, friendly and well-positioned staff

An absolute no go! We, three people, drank coffee in the Hiltl after 9 p.m. A service employee came to the table with plastic cups and asked us to empty the drinks, hot drinks of course, from the cups into the plastic cups. Reason: she needs the dishes to go in the dishwasher. That is not how it works! What kind of gastronomy is this? Incident on December 12, 2023

I've been eating at Hiltl for years and have always been satisfied, definitely worth 5 stars. In the last 3 years, however, the a discretion buffet has unfortunately become more and more expensive; a few years ago it was still 56.- With the increased parking prices it is slowly becoming too expensive for me and I can no longer afford it or maybe only once a year. Furthermore, vegan food is now too seasoned. The savory dishes have too much salt and the desserts have so much sugar that you can eat just a little bit of it and you'll be full

I don't understand the hype about these Tibits/Hiltl buffets. Food is okay (not great, but at least a good selection). But I paid 48 CHF (!!!) for a single plate + beer. No dessert, no starter. NO service (you have to get and weigh everything yourself), the kitchen has very little effort (no à la carte, just whole bowls of the same stuff, don't serve anything or anything), staff is always fussing about you (they want you). I think we got out as quickly as possible), and the ambience is more reminiscent of a Silent Hill horror hospital than a restaurant. Old dirty tiles, concrete, strange unclean mirrors, and extremely cramped seating. Okay once, but it doesn't have to happen again.

A wonderful selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes! Very reasonably priced and ideally located for take out on your way from or to the train station.

I was only there with my colleague, nowhere else at the same time and they both got stomach flu. Now I don't know if someone sick traded the food and they became terribly ill.

It is self-service at the buffet. I found the place uncomfortable. Tables very close to each other. With many visitors there is hardly any space to get to the table. Reminds me of a waiting room. You have to order and pay for drinks at the buffet. By the time you get back to the table, the food is no longer very warm. But the food itself was very good. The buffet was very rich. It's a shame, the ambience devalues ​​this.

For a self-service restaurant it is expensive. e.g. 1 fruit juice drink, iced tea with ? CHF7.- Eating by weight ...what I feel about myself; About the same portion as in my slow-food restaurant = same price and in Hiltl, I have to get my own food and endure the hall-like noise and confinement. Seen it once! Food wasn't overwhelming. The coffee is also too expensive. ...and lastly, just vegetarian.....every now and then, nothing against that

I love the Hiltl formula, the oldest vegetarian restaurant in Zurich. He also knows how to choose the locations well for the Tibits branches. Like here in the old Sihlpost at Zurich station. Self-service buffer. A vegan tartare that is unmatched by beef tartare. Well done.

Both Haus Hiltl and Hiltl Sihlpost are part of the Hiltl restaurant group, which is the oldest vegetarian restaurant group in the world. Haus Hiltl is the flagship restaurant of the group, and it is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the oldest vegetarian restaurant in the world. Really enjoyed the food served here. Have brought friends here twice in the same day.

The vegan food at Hiltl is a real treat! The location near the train station is very central and the food is excellent. Unfortunately the prices are rather high, so one star is deducted.

Awesome vegetarian and vegan food, you can basically eat your way around the world from Thai curry to samosas, and pakoras; a variety of cold, salads, veggie pâté and the like. Juices, cocktails, mock tails and wine by the glass, as well as a full selection of hot beverages are available. Outdoor patio when the weather is nice, the only downside is that in Switzerland, people smoke on patios, so look and make sure the wind is blowing the other way. Takeout containers available, and delightfully cheeky graphics delineating the male and female washrooms. This branch of the main restaurant which has been open for 125 years does a great job. If it’s your first time in Switzerland, you probably don’t realize everything is about double the price you’re used to in North America. Take half the portion you think you’d like so you don’t get sticker shock when you see the currency conversion on your credit card. The celery schnitzel is absolutely phenomenal, I like it with a little bit of the pesto smeared on top. Gluten appetit!

Very good vegetarian (mostly vegan) restaurant, buffet style with both Asian cuisine and vegan versions of local Swiss dishes. Drinks are also very good but on the pricey side. Offer of vegan dessert could be better. No reservation possible.

I bought take away for over 100 francs. I know that there are no shelves. The service (the experience would otherwise be better) was somehow confused. She didn't offer me a lid, which I received upon asking. She didn't help me pack. Her Kolkegin said that she first had to sell the juices that were expiring today; As a customer in this price range, I don't need to know. Otherwise I like to go to this restaurant for a morning coffee or a take away. However, the staff needs to be better trained again.

Solid. There is always very tasty vegetarian food here.

If an iced tea costs more than a bite to eat, then something is definitely wrong. 7 chf for a little flavored water? Where do we live? The hot food was also cold and dry by the time I got there. Service, quite inattentive despite little activity. My conclusion is that people are cutting back on staff and hiring young people for little money and then either don't get them trained properly or they just don't want to work. I think it's a shame that the whole thing has lost a bit of its soul and the prices have really risen enormously. But this restaurant can't help it either.

The old post office was rebuilt in a simple and Spartan style in a raw industrial style. For the first-time visitor, there is an architectural picture that takes some getting used to. Apart from that, the venue offers a purely vegetarian buffet, which claims to be the oldest in the world. Nevertheless, for us meat-eating tourists, it was very surprising how well the V meals were prepared. Keep it up, to the team. MFG the tourists

Went for a morning tea and a meeting. It has a lot of places but at lunch time was full. Many people coming and going. It's selfservice, but the staff are friendly and helpful.

Oat milk latte is lukewarm, too sweet and completely without foam.

All the food is clearly labeled for various allergens, although there are no mentions of possible cross contamination of allergens. The food in general is amazing, all of it is vegetarian. The atmosphere is pretty poor inside, outside is nicer if you have a sunny day.

There was a lack of meat at the buffet. This really annoyed me. I took a schnitzel and it turned out it wasn’t a real schnitzel. The same happened with a nugget. Overall a bad experience…

Great location. The coffee is very tasty. We had no problems with groups, 13 coffees were ready in no time. Very modern and clean. Enough space and very comfortable armchairs and benches.

It’s a totally different experience. All dishes are vegetarian or Vegan. Indian and Arabic available as well. It’s like you collect what you want, how much you want and finally pay at the counter for the weight of the food you picked. It’s 5.5 CHF per 100 grams. So be smart when you select your items. Take away available as well with paper bowls and plates. That too weighed and priced. Most dishes taste good. That’s an added plus point. Suitable for vegetarian Indians and Muslims who want vegetarian as Halal cannot be ensured at all restaurants. I missed the Arabic bread/ Pita bread. Otherwise a wholesome experience.

Very good and centrally located. Great vegan and vegetarian diverse offering. Very fine desserts. Rather cramped inside and very loud. The Hiltl is located in a rather soulless place next to the main train station, so I find the tables outside to be okay, but not particularly pleasant. But I really enjoy going to Hiltl more often because of the food. Good address!

Good place to go for a vegetarian buffet with a difference. You can take all you want and pay per 100 gram. The food varieties were numerous and tasteful. Good place worth trying. If you eat well enough cost per person will be similar as eating at any other mid level restaurant in Zurich

Food is good but let's be honest, this restaurant is NOT the oldest vegetarian restaurant in the WORLD. That's some false advertising. Oldest vegetarian restaurant is somewhere in Asia where majority of people are vegetarians for the past thousands of years. They probably don't exist on Google because they don't need to. They are too busy serving their veg cliental. PS. Egg is not vegetarian as per people who are real vegetarians

You can get very good and refreshing drinks/cocktails here. :) I can particularly recommend the Yuzu Spritz, Passion Spritz and the Gimlet. Right next to the main train station and therefore ideal for an after-work drink. Cheers.

Has become very expensive And is everything fair play, everything organic?

We went with 2 small children for a quick & healthy lunch. Food was delicious (as always, if you like this type of cuisine). It did the trick and we all were happy.

Simply ideal for everyone and fine, inexpensive food

Let me just start by saying that I've been a fan of hiltl for about 10 years. I love meat and am usually against visiting these sorts of "healthy hipster" places. But Hiltl is different. Their food is amazing (especially their tartar) and the drinks they make are quite good too. Last time I went the service was also so kind to offer me a drink they had made as a wrong order. The place can get a bit loud and crammed but that belongs to the Hiltl experience. It's definitely nothing fancy but i love coming here alone after an exhausting day.

The classic among vegetarian or vegan restaurants. Vegetarian dishes at a high level since 1898. The self-service buffet offers a large selection of delicious foods. The restaurant is right next to the main train station and is always busy. If the weather is good you can also sit outside.

There are too many people there on Saturday lunchtime. By the time you have paid and are at the table, the hot food becomes cold. A pity. I also found the food presented unattractively, some bowls were empty, some half empty. The high chairs were also uncomfortable. It was a disappointment. Maybe it's different on a weekday?

Near the station, this vegetarian restaurant is always full of people, you eat well, you take a plate and fill it with what you like best, be careful not to overdo it because you pay by weight, the price includes a sandwich which you have to hold in hand. There are various drinks to be paid separately or unlimited free water.

Today, Saturday morning 9.30 a.m. with friends from Austria directly from the train to the Hiltl: no more croissants and braids... Then we paid an exorbitant 83 francs for 4 cappuccini and 4 sparsely topped small plates and 2 orange juices. Never again!

Sunday buffet for 100g for SFr 5.- not cheap but the ingredients are fresh and warm. The atmosphere in the old post office is very special. Payment at checkout after weighing.

A simple and healthy rule: Here I can eat as much or as little as I feel comfortable, and with a vegetarian conscience! I am always surprised by the varied buffet.
