The food and service are the stars, the ambiance is that of a hotel lobby, but ignote that and enjoy the splendid small plates served up beautifully by a creative chef and cheerful, welcoming staff. Delightful!

Well-designed menu - Flavours of each dish is well-balanced with delicacy. Found the touch of Asian concept in dishes executed well. Great service - makes you smile from entering to leaving. Nice atmosphere - warm and not too crowded. Wonderful dinner with reasonable price which is not too easy to find in Zermatt in my opinion.

Rich and friendly dinner! A place to feel at home. Laura generously welcomes us to our table under the cuckoo clocks, while Janis and Roberto fictionalize a dynamic and fun à la carte menu. We entrusted ourselves to their hands: a surprise shared menu, varied and very tasty; wine expertly supported. A journey through tastes, perfumes and places without precise connotation, therefore amazement and research for the palate. The chicken with peanut butter takes us back to Indonesia, the pastry candies filled with goat's cheese and sweet potato refreshes a carefree and cheerful dinner with winter notes, which reaches its conclusion in the game between bitter cocoa and cherries in syrup. I have taken a little time to write this review, no fault of the restaurant, just my busy lifestyle.... My husband and I were in Zermatt for Christmas 2023 and had our Christmas Dinner at La Table du Carina. We couldn't have found a better place, the food was AMAZING, the atmosphere was AWESOME, the staff were so attentive and passionate about the food they were serving, it was truly a beautiful evening!!! Not only was our food experience the BEST we found in Zermatt, but the cost was also far better than downtown Zermatt. Whether you are a local or visiting Zermatt, do yourself a favour and book a meal at La Table du Carina, you will not be disappointed. If we ever make our way back someday, we will be definitely back. Bon Appetit :)

We had an excellent evening in this lovely restaurant, and the service was very warm and of high quality! A chef with great skills and a waitress whose wine suggestions we followed blindly, without regrets. A wonderful surprise. It's been a long time since we've been so won over in terms of taste! Dishes full of finesse, subtlety and super original. A delight! Very attentive and careful service. After sharing 4 dishes between 2, we only wanted to discover the rest of the menu! So we fell for some delicious desserts. We will come back as soon as possible.

Hidden gem in Zermatt. Lovely little restaurant with the greatest of staff. They are very caring and you can tell they put their heart into it. The menu is filled with carefully chosen local specialties and put together like a piece of art. We had a perfect dinner and already looking forward to our next visit and trying a new burrata creation. Best value for money dinner you can get in Zermatt!

This was a wonderful final dinner in Zermatt! We enjoyed the family style meal and the experience of trying some new dishes. The hostess and chef /owners were friendly and pleasant and clearly felt pride in the restaurant and a desire to make it a nice evening for us. Delicious, quality food with a touch of creativity.

Wow!! Hands down one of the best meals I've ever had! The food is not only amazing, but creative and is a true culinary experience. The service was also incredible! Our server was the owner herself who, along with her husband, who is the other owner/chef, provided top-notch service and high quality food. Do not miss this spot! 11/10

Came here on our first night in Zermatt as it was close to our hotel. It’s small plates which we love and the server gave us the specials and what she recommended (we picked 2 of her recommendations. The food is delicious, everything is fresh and comes out as it is ready. Our favorites were the black chickpea hummus with fresh focaccia and the sticky ribs. The restaurant is located inside of a hotel, which we normally steer away from but would 100% recommend to come here for a great meal!

Super inclined to write an excellent review of our dining experience yesterday evening here. This relatively newer culinary experience in Zermatt is worth everyone’s visit at least once during their Zermatt stay. The owner couple is the most talented and accommodating hosts, and we had such a welcoming experience dining here with two small children also. Their kids menu of butter and tomato pasta were devoured voraciously by our two children (mind you, the portion size is generous, but they were licked clean), and the attention to detail the chef puts into them was discernible. The mocktail drinks we ordered were so excellent, that my mother in law wants to go back even if it’s just for the drink. Sharing menus were so simple and hearty, yet immensely creative, and we found the pricing very reasonable for the quality too. We know only bright and successful future is ahead for La Table du Carina. Many thanks again for making our first evening in Zermatt so special 🥰

It was our best dining experience in Zermatt! The food is simply perfect, the staff is amazing, and the restaurant is located away from the crowded tourist places in the city center.

We enjoyed small plates here tapas sharing style and each was exceptional. It was hard to choose a favorite! The drinks were also delicious, especially the Old Fashioned and Basil Smash!

New hosts since July 1st. Young, energetic team that simply enchants the plates! Must-try: Muhammara dip with homemade focaccia.

A hidden gem in Zermatt - we loved this place. Its vegetarian choices were plentiful and my only slight annoyance is that we didn't have time to try the other dishes in our few days in Zermatt. The dishes are much better than I expected from reading the menu. The children really loved the food as well. We were looked after by one of the two staff on hand that day but you wouldn't have known it had they not told us. She was very attentive throughout and gave us the time we needed to decide. If I'm ever back in town, I'm going back to test the dishes I didn't get to try.

We had different dishes to share according to the concept and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent! All made with fresh and local products. The service was also top notch, we were made to feel very welcome. If you want to have a pleasant time and simply treat yourself, I advise you to stop by the Table du Carina.

The food was delicious and the service was great. The joy and passion that the waitress radiated was clearly noticeable. I would be happy to come back when I stay in Zermatt again.

Laura and Janis ensure that their creative sharing concept ensures an entertaining evening. All the dishes on the menu are very cleverly interpreted in terms of taste and the recommended wines were also very harmonious. The natural wines are particularly noteworthy. The products were of excellent quality and the price-performance ratio was absolutely right. We will come back in any case

Excellent food and amazing staff. We were blown away by the four dishes we shared between two. They said they only re-opened with new chefs last week so well worth checking out.

Unfortunately, the menu is not nice Italian home cooking but fancy and therefore - small portions at high prices. In a hotel that is also open to low budget travelers, this would definitely have to change. 2, 3 dishes, simple, Italian classics for a maximum of 20 francs. Then there would be more guests. And - light the fire to the beautiful music!

Short version: I was really excited to try this restaurant per the recommendation of a few chefs here in Zermatt. However it was by far the worst and most disappointing dining experiences in Zermatt. Avoid this place and go to Cervo or Brasserie Uno instead. My friend and I arrived to a restaurant that was maybe half full and ordered tartar and tortelloni. The kitchen accidentally brought us two portions of tartar which they apologized for and comped us for the second portion. Unfortunately the tartar was pretty tasteless and bland (and somehow watery tasting). If you want a great tartar go to Sonmatten hotel! Then an hour after waiting the waiter came over to say that despite accepting our order for tortelloni, they were all out. The suggested substitute was seafood pasta, which we declined due to food sensitivity. So they offered a premade spaghetti like pasta with shaved truffle. When it came 30 minutes later it was basically bland noodles with butter/cream and a stale truffle topping. Both my friend and I disliked it and didn’t even finish it (only ate it bc what else was open in Zermatt so late). Honestly the worst pasta Ive had in a long time. We told Manuel the host and he apologized but when they bill came they still charged us for the tortelloni (which was handmade with short rib) claiming the substitute store-bought pasta was more expensive therefore we should be happy… When you have many options to choose from in Zermatt, its just not worthwhile choosing a place with poor kitchen management and worse customer service (especially at this price point!). Like I said before, if you want great homemade pasta go to Cervo instead. No reason to patronize this place. Shame bc Manuel was a very friendly guy. Definitely would not recommend or go again.

what a wonderful evening! The location is breathtaking, the ambience is cozy, the food is a poem, the drinks are fabulous and the service makes you completely happy. In short: a pearl that is rarely found; a table you want to sit at every evening… grazie mille.

I would not hesitate to say that the food here was excellent. Homely, rich, simple - but it's the service that really stood out. Leonardo F was attentive, cordial, knowledgable, and an spectacular bar tender. I genuinely enjoyed my night here.

The food here is insanely good. Simple home style Italian dishes with the best ingredients. The risotto is to die for. Highly recommend! We loved the restaurant so much that we even came back for a second dinner during our short trip to zermatt. Amazing food. All the dishes spoke their own story of regionality. We were here two dinner nights. And everything was cooked differently. One of the great blessings of Zermatt. Thank you chef Gaia!

Returned once again and like the previous ones…excellent experience. Attentive service, transversal wine list. The menu changes every day following the seasonality and quality of the raw materials, the dishes are an explosion of taste, it is difficult to find Italian flavors outside of home! The tortelloni with boiled meat in broth and fennel and scamorza risotto are exceptional The restaurant is designed down to the smallest details and you can feel the attention of the entire team. One of my favorite places!

Let me start with, this isn’t your topical Italian restaurant, it has topical Italian food but not the typical that you find almost everywhere.I have been uncountable times at table du carina and every single time it has been a wonderful evening, food is always really good, the selection of wines is wide and well selected, service always have made me feel like I’m dinning at their house. So in a few words table du carina is one of my favorite restaurants in Zermatt, highly recommend, the place to eat different and well made italian food.

Came here on a recommendation from another restaurant and it truly surpassed expectations! Had Mamma’s set menu with creamy burrata, delectable carpaccio grouper, pesto pasta cooked perfectly, and a delicious veal dish along with the best bread all night! And even more - the staff was very attentive, friendly, and treated us like family! We thanked Manuel for a great evening and he invited us to stay hi to Chef Gaia! With such an awesome spirit it’s no wonder the food tasted full of love! Can’t wait to come back!

Exceptional! You know a chef is greatly experienced when she can make the most simple things taste absolutely amazing. The food was fantastic. Ingredients are always fresh, and the menu changes every day. The service was also incredible (it was great to meet Leonardo, who is made for making people have a great experience)! We wanted to go back so bad, but eventually did not manage to 😢 Definitely an address to keep, we will return whenever we can! Thank you!

We were able to enjoy Mama's menu two nights in a row. And both evenings, a real delight! Salads and vegetables from the garden accompanied by a divine sauce - sauced with fresh sourdough bread. The risottos were tasty and the pork was so tender. Really very warm welcome, nicely decorated space. And thank you for the guided tour of the garden! All the ingredients are there to make a great table. We will come back to it, that's for sure.

Very warm welcome on our arrival, attentive service, short but quality menu, renewed every day, and a very nice selection of regional and international wines. A talented and smiling Sicilian chef, and this is reflected in the quality of the dishes. Excellent coffee (with a limoncello) to finish in style! We’ll come back to that 😉

Felt like a scam, the world's smallest portions for a sky-high price. Steer away, this won't work.

Too expencive, too little food, but it tasted good. But not nearly as good as it should, considering the price.

Garden products in small quantities, initially a menu for two was offered to us at 76.- when the bill was added we paid twice for the menu. To flee !

The restaurant changes the menu everyday (no English menu) and it was marketed to us as a traditional Italian restaurant. We paid 78CHF for 1 pasta dish, 1 beef tartare and 2 glasses of wine. The beef tartare was good, the pasta was horrible. It was a mix of macaroni which seemed like leftover instant pasta all thrown together into a bowl. For the wine selection, they only had Chianti, and we expected better selection from a traditional Italian restaurant as marketed to us. Saving grace was the homely and dedicated service rendered on that day.

A very disappointing experience. The dish was below all reasonable standards. We paid thirty euros for water, macaroni and a few slices of cheese. Would definitely not recommend.

Eat good. Price way too expensive. In terms of price, you might think it's a restaurant with Michelin stars. Every now and then I eat in a good restaurant, even with Michelin stars, but for the price I pay I expect more. CHF 160.-- for a 3-course menu (2 people) and still hungry at the end - that shouldn't be the case. PS: Both are happy with little food, but that was clearly not enough for the money.

Perhaps our best restaurant in the last 10 years... A magnificent discovery with an absolutely brilliant chef (Gaïa) in the kitchen. The dishes are both simple and terribly tasty, each plate makes you salivate as you eat it. We were treated to a risotto of incredible finesse. Much better than the one we ate in a two-star restaurant in the Geneva countryside ;-) The service is provided by a relaxed and passionate team who makes you want to stay in this cozy and warm place. Take the full menu, with a very good Italian wine (organic) and you will be transported to another dimension for a very reasonable price given the quality of the dishes and the service. We will return to Zermatt just to rediscover this place again, that’s saying something!

wonderfully authentic Italian cuisine, a surprisingly unpretentious restaurant away from the hustle and bustle - love it!

The best meal we had during our stay (at the best hotel we stayed in). The chef makes a new menu every night. We had one of each of the mains to share and were so happy that we did-everything was absolutely inspired! If you are staying in the hotel, there is no need to go anywhere else for dinner, this chef is the best there is. I'm not sure if you have to stay in the hotel to get dinner here, but if you are in Zermatt, you need to have this food. My wife comes from an Italian family, but the chef made the best risotto either of us has ever had. Highly recommend both the hotel and restaurant!
