A good traditional style and wooden ceiling restaurant at the main corner of Lucerne festival point. Bit economical aswell compared to other restaurants in surroundings.

Family-run, charming restaurant that does justice to gastronomy!

Absolutely delicious pastry/pie thing with veal, sausage and mushrooms. Definitely amongst the best jus I’ve had in my life. The cordon bleu was also well cooked, the meat was moist and flavourful and the crust was really crispy. Spent €106 for 2 with dessert and a beer each. Service was quick and efficient but we were there before the dinner crowd so we can’t speak to service during peak hours.

One of the best mushroom soups I have ever had. Great service, fantastic wine, delicious food. Close to the lion monument. Beautiful location in old Town.

We had two versions of the rabbit – one with the traditional noodle, and the other with rosti the third dish was the goulash, all of which were fantastic great portions. The table came with bread. Just FYI if you are looking for flat water pretty much tapwater they charge you five francs which is a little shocking in someways but welcome to Europe our server, the guy that resembles Chris Pratt from Hungary was absolutely lovely. I would definitely have the same dish. Ie the goulash 100% again

Our restaurant visit in February 2024 was fantastic; the rabbit ragout with spaetzle and vegetables was excellent. The prices are as usual in Lucerne. The service was very friendly.

The Lapin restaurant in Lucerne is a charming gem in the heart of the city. The rustic charm gives the place a welcoming atmosphere. The service is first class and the food is outstanding - the rabbit ragout with fresh vegetables in particular was simply delicious. A real treat!

Such a wonderful traditional and classic restaurant! The food was superb, the service was amazing and the wine was delicious! Loved everything from the decor to the dessert, will be back there whenever we come to Lucerne for sure!

Always these excuses from the boss... It remains to be said that this is a staid restaurant with totally inflated prices - and yes, if you like canteen food, this is absolutely the right place for you.

We were there one evening during the week. We were quickly assigned a place and luckily we caught Y. as a service person. A great, attentive, courteous employee who does a good job. Unfortunately, that couldn't be said about the other services people. The facial expressions were grim and judgmental. Not really a kind word. The looks that were thrown at the plate and then at the guests spoke volumes. To make matters worse, there was a minor dismissal of the employees in front of our table. We didn't feel welcome, so we rushed and skipped the dessert/coffee. The food was passable and rather expensive. Our vegetables were still before the bite. The temperatures of the dishes were not 100 percent. My dish had a dominant sour note which was quite disturbing but with the service it's better not to say anything. (Maybe it was intentional) Conclusion; I wouldn't use this restaurant for a nice evening that you want to enjoy.

Very nice restaurant. The food is delicious, the portions are large. I took lake fish - perfectly cooked. The only thing that was strange was that we ordered a glass of wine, brought a bottle, two glasses and a MEASURING glass from which we poured it into glasses. I've never seen anything like this anywhere. Well, it’s not cheap, as is the case everywhere else in Switzerland.

We were staying with their hotel „Hotel De La Paix“. We were very hungry when we stumbled upon their restaurant and went ahead without making any reservations. We were lucky to get a table without being asked to wait. 1. The staffs were over the top courteous! 2. I had ordered Pork Schnitzel which were served with fries and sautéd veggies. As I was cutting open the schnitzel cheese was overflowing from inside. Ot was one of the best schnitzels I have ever had. 3. My wife ordered the sautéd chicken breast served with risotto. The chicken was tender and soft the elderberry sauce was just amazing however the risotto had too much of cheese. It was overwhelming! 4. We also ordered a Plum Crumble dessert! Overall the food was really great and it is a must recommendation for anyone visiting Lucerne!

Spontaneous lunch at Lapin. Always very good. A friendly welcome and good service round off the stay. The food was fantastic. Venison fillet fried in one piece with classic game side dishes. Table reservation is an advantage.

Food was ok, not bad but nothing special. The place is getting old and a bit dusty when you look closely. For me, the carpet doesn't work in a restaurant. Service couldn't recommend an aperitif, but one is advertised in the toilet. Still, it's nice there are still places like this.

Exceptional service and food. I had the veal with vegetables and gratin in a lovely sauce, my husband had a posh pie with vegetables. We tried Taube at first but they said booked out but they had empty tables when we walked past later- so glad they couldn't fit us because I don't think any meal could have been better than Lapin. Staff were busy but found a table, totally professional and welcoming. A little out of the main strip, google reviews were good so we decided to try them, they thrive on their quality rather than just their location. Here 3 days so hopefully we can eat there again. Pleasant restaurant of the Hotel de la Paix. The starter, apart from a good salad of toasted nuts, was the curious Küchenzauber that includes a variety of different dishes: a battered fish, two magnificent tartars, one with meat and the other with avocado and tomato, an excellent roast beef and in between On the plate, a fruit skewer with a small plate at the base with tartar sauce, as well as a delicious ham and cheese sauce and curiously a small cup of white garlic; to play with combinations. The second was the traditional Fritschipastete, an exquisite puff pastry filled with mushrooms, pieces of meat and beef sausage and lots of vegetables, all in a cognac sauce; filling dish, perfect for sharing. Very delicious raspberry tiramisu and coffee ice cream. Good wines, well chosen and good service.

I usually really enjoy going to Lapin. Usually 2-3 times a year. This time there seemed to be a new crew there and I found there were a few no-gos in the service. I hope that was a slip-up.

Rustic restaurant with a seasonal menu. The food was very tasty, but in my opinion the portions were much too small for the price asked. I also find CHF 9.50 for a liter of water in the in-house bottle, i.e. tap water, pretty sporty...

Loved Lapin. Food was amazing! Decor so lovely with lots of rabbits, on the tablecloth, dishes, chairs. Fun cocktails and good wine list. Our service was wonderful.

Very good, authentic and traditional food. Hospitality at a perfect level, we were allowed to visit the small but very fine wine cellar, where there were one or two great treasures to marvel at. We recently visited Luzern and had a wonderful experience at Lapin for dinner. The food was food, the atmosphere was nice, and the service was excellent. Special thanks to Liene who took care of our special guest! Would highly recommend.

Ate breakfast there twice and loved all the choices. Steak dinner was medium rare and delicious! Vegetable soup was the best we have ever had so much we wanted to ask for the recipe.

The food was absolutely delicious and well presented. The menu comes in English too and our waitress, Yorkana, was more than helpful, she was awesome. Loved it!

Nice service but food is a bit salty

This review is low for one reason. It's not low for the food, which was OK and no worse or better than any other restaurant in this rather touristy spot. Very much the quality-to-price ratio you'd expect in this kind of location in most cities, maybe a little worse, but we only ate in a handful of places. It's not for the service, which was fine; friendly, fast. Atmosphere was pleasant enough. It is because they charged us for tap water. TAP WATER? Really? Water out of the TAP? Perhaps I'm missing something and happened to visit all the Swiss restaurants that don't charge for tap water during our stay and maybe it's the norm, but in all the countries and restaurants I've been to over the years I've never been charged for water from the tap. 3CHF per person. About $5AUD per person. If tourists have been systematically abusing their freely given water for too long and they've just cracked then my apologies to the owners and I rescind my complaint, but otherwise that's rather low. I must add that this was charged with the acknowledgement that, for the fee, we would be given unlimited refills. Not sure that doesn't still make this the stingiest move I've ever encountered in a restaurant anywhere, ever, but it's a nice inclusion...I guess? Anyway, it bothered us if that wasn't already obvious. You decide for yourselves. EDIT: I understand this is meant to be for the service (whatever's involved in that), but I looked this up and it costs about 2CHF for 1000 litres of water. That's almost a 200,000% markup - two-hundred thousand percent - on the water we drank. I hope that water was drawn from the snow melt of Mt Titlis and filtered through Emmental cheese. * Note I've since learned this is a thing in Switzerland, so maybe not entirely the fault of this restaurant End edit.

We had a wonderful experience at Lapin this evening! The service was excellent (many thanks to Liene!) and all staff was friendly and helpful. The owner stopped to say hello and ensure we were happy. The food was superb and worth every penny. Sad this is the last evening of our trip, because we would absolutely eat here again. Highly recommend!

Absolutely wonderful restaurant, food was stunning I had the Fritschipastetli and probably the best meal of the holiday, spoke to 2 members of staff and both were very attentive and helpful strongly recommended.

Great atmosphere, service, and location. But with above average price and below average food. Got both pork and beef steak and both were pretty low quality and taste like nothing but salt. The appetizer and desserts were nice though.

Location is only slightly outside of the very touristic area, but still easy to get to by walking. Besides basic Swiss food, you can also find some special dishs, such as Rabbit Ragout and Fritschipastete. They are both very tasty, especially Fritschipastete. Would oder again!

Delicious, homey, and authentic Swiss food. The Rabbit Ragout and Fritschipastete are to die for! The sauces for these dishes were amazing. The rabbit was wonderfully tender and accompanied by the crispiest, most satisfying potatoes. The Fritschipastete had a mixture of meat and veggies wrapped in a freshly baked puff pastry. The portions were also quite generous and the staff was so friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend :)

One of the best places to eat good Swiss food. A relatively small restaurant and bar it does great business. I love going there and do so at least twice a month. I heartily recommend the calves‘ liver with Rösti.

We are once again thrilled with the food and service at “Le Lapin”. We enjoyed the “Fritschi pie” last night. A real pleasure!

Here you have typical Swiss food. It's very worth it. Prices are moderate compared to the old swiss house. Both at dinner and lunch we were very well attended to. Meal with wine for 2 was 125 francs.

Ordered a menu for lunch, five people at the table. After 40 minutes I asked because the food wasn't there yet. Boss in sight, no reaction. Asked again. After 55 minutes we paid for drinks and left. No reaction, no apology.

Very nice service and food prepared with love, highly recommended.
