Very friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. I enjoyed the tournedos with foie gras and truffle. Only downside: the gratin dauphinois which was barely lukewarm. But really nice evening.

Whether it's a meal for two or with family, in summer on the terrace, or in winter indoors, I have never been disappointed. The dishes are delicious and the staff are truly top-of-the-range in terms of competence and kindness.

I have always worked in catering and the first rule is not to say no, but to make customers understand that it is not possible. At least 5 times they are answered with a dry No. I hope this little advice will give you a little extra for your future customers. Sommelier and restaurant manager

Went as a family (3 adults) for dinner. I chose hunting, deer medallion. For the price of 51 CHF, it was served very sparingly, fortunately the bread basket filled the void. Cold quickly, the plates deserve a little more preheating. Wine by the glass at 8 CHF per glass was fine, nothing more. Next to it, a huge, rather noisy table forced us in turn to raise our voices. Very slow service, always trying to catch a waiter. Also very surprised to see a couple arrive with a 1-3 month old baby. At 8 p.m.+ and in a typical restaurant, that seems incorrect to me... In short, we were quick to leave after the overrated dessert and probably never return.

We went to the Restaurant du Théâtre for a family dinner on a Saturday evening. the staff had our reservation and we were immediately shown out table. Over the course of the dinner the staff kept friendly and professional. The menu offer plenty of options including games (in autumn). We order a wild boar eye ribs whit mushroom that also included caramelised pear and roasted pineapple, and the different flavours were perfectly balanced. Their scallops-pumpkin risotto was perfectly cook and overalls delicious. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant for it’s service, food and atmosphere.

Excellent wood-fired pizzas but also and above all a very beautiful, inventive menu depending on the seasons. The wine list is also very good. The staff is kind, friendly, smiling and remarkably welcoming...a real pleasure. In summer, a magnificent terrace and tables below are protected by huge parasols; a real luxury in the heart of Lausanne!! We highly recommend this address.

We certainly ate better here a few years ago. I completely agree with the opinion of other guests that the price-performance ratio is no longer right here. * Cocktails for 14 CHF are insults to any barman (warm premix cocktail with ice cubes) *Tuna OK * Completely overcook the lamb fillet. My daughter asked me if this was the appetizer * Children's pizza KO

As usual, the years pass but le Restaurant du Theatre stays a place I will always enjoy in Lausanne! Whether its the terrasse, the service (we had an amazing waiter) or the food, everything was perfect!

This restaurant is in the middle of Lausanne surrounded by trees 🌳 amazing atmosphere with a beautiful garden !! The food was great !!! Pizza well made and juicy🍕 The vitello tonnato is delicious! The waiter is super Friendly & Funny his name is Stefan. Advice you to go there after work with a group of friends or colleagues! ( better reserve before you go if you want a table on the terrace ;) )

Professional meal. Impeccable service, smiling, available, considerate, all without being obsequious! A real pleasure ! Wonderfully refreshing setting in these heatwaves (we were in the patio/garden). Not very generous portions - except for the pasta - and the dish I had (fried sea bream fillet) didn't break anything in terms of flavor. But the presentation was beautiful. High prices.

Good welcome and very good service from the waiter that evening. He put his heart into it and it’s a pleasure. There were 4 of us and we had tartares, tortellini and beef fillet. Everything was good without being exceptional. The desserts weren't bad too. The place is nice.

Great food, very polite staff. The leg of lamb was amazing and so was the wood oven baked pizza-proper napolitana. Selection of wine was good-not too large, with some quality bottles. Highly recommended.

How can I put it... I really didn't have any fun. Questionable products, equally questionable combinations, a tempting but failed winter suggestion. Pasta stuffed supposedly with foie gras with sage butter... I had the misfortune to see the stuffing, it was white, obviously the color of foie gras... As for the sage butter, it was successful the feat of not having the taste of sage, which is strong with such a tasty plant... In short, let's look for the positive, the waiter was nice and the setting was rather beautiful... A suggestion, if you go to this restaurant, eat a pizza... They are wood fired...

The restaurant is really nice. It is located in an old , historic and beautiful building. It has a big garden, with a fountain. The personnel is great; they are really there when you need them, they are efficient and funny. The pizza is definitely the best pizza in Lausanne. highly recommend the restaurant and will definitely come back.

A pleasant place for a quiet dinner in pleasant company. The waiter is very polite. The only thing missing was a napkin on the table and at least a small fresh flower in a vase. And I would also like a real candle, not an electric candle. It would add more comfort.

Yes since the time I saw the dishes pass before my eyes. On Facebook. I decided to stop at this restaurant. A little disappointed at the entrance. I say hello. The server. There's no more room in it. Yes but I have reserved. Ah yes, so there was a place. He doesn't ask me my name. BIZZARD. I order the dish of the day. First a good salad. The pastas don't stand up at night, not hot at all. Not much taste. No salt and pepper on my table. Dessert: an exquisite salted butter caramel ball. Which shocked me. A server was shocking. Throughout his service. It's still a chic restaurant. And a waiter received a text message which he consulted. In full service. Well I would still come back to give them another chance...

Yesterday night we had dinner in this restaurant situated in the opera house in Lausanne close to the city center. We have been here many times in the past and not really been excited by the food, that is partly Italian. This time we ordered a goat cheese salad and pappardelle with chanterelles. There was one thin slice of goat cheese on a slice of cold rye bread, placed on a finely sliced low budget salad soaking in a vinegar rich sauce and covered with bacon bits, all decorated with a couple of half cherry tomatoes. There was a lot of pappardelle but very little mushroom and, again, some cherry tomato halves. The value on the plates did not reach five dollars/euros/Swiss francs. It really does not help that the staff was friendly and tried to cover up the poor performance of the kitchen! There is a very high sound level inside and on the terrace you risk to be exposed to high ppm-s of cigar smoke if you don't ask for a table in a corner of the garden. Very poor value for money.

The Theater is always very good, traditional and original menu. For all tastes, even gluten-free pasta. The cuisine is tasty. The garden terrace in summer is magnificent, well shaded and calm. The service is impeccable and cordial. Good choice of wines with a selection of Swiss bottles. Gluten-free ones are very well treated.

Very pretty terrace and the evening of my meal I was very well taken care of. Price a little expensive but given the quality it's normal I think.

Good. SO. Frankly. The terrace is pretty, the staff great. But the food. Meh. It doesn't break bricks. For the price you pay for the place and the people but certainly not the food. So it's not worth 2 but it's not worth 4.4 either. so I balance.

A magnificent terrace in the heart of Lausanne. The servers are very friendly and welcoming. The pizzas are excellent and the beef tartare is top notch! The cheesecake is probably the best cheesecake I have ever eaten!

A had a dinner in December 2021 and I have ordered a pasta dish that was their speciality and was delicious. The indoor restaurant is very cosy. But this summer I went again at lunch time and the food was ok but not that great at first time: the salad was quite tasteless (just a bit of oil), the main dish not asezonate and ok-ish ,the desert fresh and good. For the prices things could be a bit improved. I'll try a 3th time to decide if I like the restaurant or not that much ☺️
