Restaurant japonais Taiyo in Lausanne

We participated in the Matcha Tasting workshop on Saturday before the opening and really enjoyed the experience. With 5 people you have to adapt to the space available but the quality of the explanations, the pastries and the matcha quickly made you forget this detail. We highly recommend!

The matcha-selection is truly exceptional. And the homemade Dorayaki are as delicious as one thinks. A little holiday in Japan, just hidden there in Lausanne!

First review of the year 2024 ;-) We came in November from German-speaking Switzerland to discover this warm and minimalist place, in an atmosphere of Japanese serenity. Really won over by the place, we can only recommend it. The sweets (mochi) and teas are fantastic. I left home with different teas and as a big tea lover, I can sincerely admit that Marutcha teas are the BEST sencha teas I have tasted! It would be difficult to change now. Happy New Year 2024!

A lovely Japanese tearoom in Lausanne, that made me feel like I traveled back to Japan. Apart from friendly and warm asmosphere, modern matcha latte here is quite original. Kurogoma Daifuku (Mochi with black sesami) was very good.

I took a long almond milk matcha to go which was great but the red bean mochi stole the show because it was so good!! The person who cashed me was professional and very focused in his tasks to the point that the reception was perhaps a little cold. Aside from the lack of smile, I am satisfied with my visit and will surely come back to buy myself some Japanese tea!

Charming Japanese tea room in the center of Lausanne. The place is quite small, so unfortunately there may not be any seats available, but it is always possible to take what you want to take away. However, this allows you to preserve a calm and family atmosphere! You will find specialties that will perhaps revive fond memories of a trip to Japan! The staff speaks Japanese and knows the products offered perfectly; he will be attentive to advise you and serve you as best as possible.

Very small Japanese tea room (and only Japanese, carefully selected by the owners!) that you absolutely must visit if you are in Lausanne! It's very cozy and zen inside, the sweets to accompany your drink are handmade. Do not hesitate to ask questions about tea, we will inform you with a low voice so as not to break the harmony of the place. More places on the micro-terrace in summer? Sit peacefully in front of the Music Conservatory just above, or on the street furniture of the City of Lausanne (in summer). Possibility of taking your own portable zero-waste container to take away, with a small reduction! Vegeta*link/s? Plant-based “milk” available, and traditional azuki daifuku mochi available! Finally, keep your eyes peeled, Japanese cultural workshops are organized there regularly! My favorites: soy matcha-latte, matcha-float ice, hot chocolate with a hint of matcha (yum yum umami from two noble products!), fresh homemade mochis, fresh well-aerated dorayki, the selection of different infused teas many with the know-how!

The lattes are incredible, super frothy with several choices of plant-based milks! The staff is very nice, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. A paradise for lovers of matcha and Japanese teas! :D

Very good tasting tea offered with great kindness and delicacy. One suggestion is to possibly store the tea you sell in the fridge or freezer to prevent the aroma from being lost over time.

Teníamos el menú que incluía un pequeño y sabroso aperitivo con pasta de atún y aguacate, una ensalada de algas muy sabrosa, camarones tempura, un plato con sushi y nigiri (porción bastante grande) y como postre helado de té verde y tarta de queso. Todo estaba muy sabroso, las cantidades eran grandes y al final estábamos muy llenos. El menú era de 48 chf por persona, muy asequible teniendo en cuenta la cantidad y la calidad. El ambiente era muy agradable, perfecto para cenas románticas :) ¡Definitivamente lo recomiendo!

On a mangé sur la terrasse sur des chaises hautes la rue est très tranquille . Je crois que ça sera mon bar à sushi d’excellence pour mes prochaines commandes .

Tomoko and David, both speaking Japanese, are an adorable couple who will tell you about Japan while preparing specialties from there for you. Teas, milks, pastries, ice creams, all homemade and Japanese, there's definitely something for everyone! They also organize events like brunches and workshops related to Japanese culture.

Great place totally authentic, you can even speak Japanese. The couple who run the tearoom are super nice and import the tea themselves and make the pastries at home. One of the best places for a great genmaicha or matcha.

Nous venons de souper en couple au Taiyo. Nous avons pris un menu avec les brochettes de poulet, des sushis, des mochis en dessert et tout était bon !Le lieu est mignon car c'est un petit local et le chef-sushis travaille en salle ce qui est agréable à voir. Le service est avenant, discret et efficace.Nous nous y sommes rendus avec le passeport gourmand. Ayant été prévenus au téléphone que nous devions payer cash et même si c'est vrai que ce n'est plus exigé par le passeport, comme j'ai déjà la chance d'avoir un repas à deux moitié-prix, il ne m'a pas paru excessif, contrairement à l'avis plus bas. d'aller retirer du cash pour aller dans le sens de la demande. Si jamais il y a des Bancomat UBS et Poste à 100-200m.

Warm, traditional Japanese atmosphere, absolutely fantastic! The owners were adorable, their different matchas were killer. We just wanted to stop for 5 minutes, and we ended up staying for 4 hours. We recommend +++!

I happened to find this place while looking for a place to take shelter due to the sudden rain.When I entered...a Japanese woman (the manager❔) was there to help me😸I was surprised👀 and moved. I was so happy that we talked a lot. The service was very pleasant, and the tea and daifuku were no different from what I would enjoy in Japan. I was relieved 😻 Thank you very much 🙇 It wasn't a large restaurant, but it seemed to be popular with local women as well, and the tables were occupied 👍 Japanese people, please come and try it 🙇

We discovered this little tea room by chance. And what a discovery! It is a calm place conducive to relaxation. The staff are welcoming, helpful, friendly and give very good advice! The matcha latte there is fabulous. The dorayaki and matcha monaka (frozen sandwich) were also excellent.

Nous y sommes allés avec le passeport gourmand.Sushis de bonne qualité mais trop excessivement chers.Lors de l'addition, la serveuse me dit que je ne peux pas payer avec une carte bancaire car j'ai le passeport gourmand. Or dans le passeport, il est écrit que les cartes de crédit sont interdites mais pas les cartes de débit et j'y étais venue l'année passée et avait pu payer par carte.. Je trouve ça lamentable, surtout que ça ne leur change absolument rien.. Je déconseille ce restaurant et n'y retournerai pas.

Gut gelegen finde ich, dass dieses kleine Sushi-Restaurant immer eine erstaunliche Qualität hat. Zu sehen, wie Sushi und Sashimi in der Bar zubereitet werden, ist faszinierend und die Sorgfalt, die in jeden Aufschlag steckt, ist unglaublich.Ich habe es abends besucht und obwohl es großartig ist, würde ich empfehlen, es zum Mittag zu probieren, da es zu dieser Zeit besonders gutes Essen gibt.Dies ist nicht einer der Orte, an denen wir Dinge vorgefertigt haben und in einem Kühlschrank zur Auswahl stehen - alles wird frisch zubereitet

War schon oft hier und es war großartig wie immer. Aber gerade habe ich entdeckt, dass es sehr serviceorientiert ist. Ich hatte es eilig, den Zug zu erreichen. . . und auch super hungrig. Sie haben mir Shushi in 7 Minuten serviert! Vielen Dank! Gut gemacht!

À notre arrivée, malgré une réservation confirmée, il n’y avait pas de table pour nous. Nous avons donc du manger au bar. Pendant toute la durée de notre repas, une table est resté libre juste à côté. Cuisine bonne mais pas de gentillesse et attention pour les clients. On n’y va pas retourner.

Ich war im letzten Jahr mindestens 5 Mal dort. Sushis werden jedes Mal schlimmer und schlechter, was ein Nachteil ist, weil es am Anfang ziemlich gut war.Das letzte Mal haben sie unsere Reservierung verdoppelt und wir wurden gebeten zu gehen, obwohl noch ein Tisch übrig war. Im Ernst, wer führt so ein Geschäft?

Petit restaurant au début de la rue du midi, facile à trouver mais pas forcément pour se garer. L’accueil est sympathique et courtois. La carte est assez complète avec des entrées comme des soupes Miso, des tempura. Côté plats, on retrouve les sushis, maki et nigiri mais aussi des plats chauds comme du bœuf, des fondues ou du poisson. Les sushis sont plutôt petits, trop froids et manquent un peu de goût. Les makis et nigiri sont bons. Je recommande de ne pas prendre de sushis à l’anguille, qualité de l’anguille plus que médiocre. En dessert nous optons pour des beignets d’ananas avec une boule vanille, très bon. Je reste déçu de la qualité des sushis qui est loin de certains autres restaurants de lausanne.

Petit Resto de sushi au cadre un peu vieillot, si vous tablez allez pas pour le décor. Par contre niveau nourriture les maki et le sashimi que j'ai pris bien que très classique, étaient très bon, très frais et présentés avec goût. Pas grand chose à redire, prix un peu élevé 2x8 maki et un sashimi 6 pièce saumon, une bière = 50 Frs, mais ça valait le coup. J'y retournerai

Je me rend régulièrement au Taiyo les mardis et mercredis afin de profiter de leur offre de Sushis à gogo pour le prix de 49 CHF. La sélection de sushis proposés est variée et permet de satisfaire tout le monde. Les sushis sont très bons et frais, car presque réalisés à la minute au bar. Le service est agréable et rapide. Au final, le rapport qualité/prix est très bien. Je n'ai néanmoins jamais goûté l'un de leurs autres plats ; mon avis n'engage donc que les sushis de l'établissement.

De loin mon restaurant préféré à Lausanne. Petit local, mais ambiance cosy. Le personnel est très sympa. Les plats sont savoureux et délicieux, le poisson est de belle qualité. Beaucoup de créativité dans la préparation des sushis. Petite sélection de vins suisses.J’adore!!!!!

Service rapide et poli, bons sushis, ambiance thématique agréable. Un peu petit. Prix standards pour des sushis, mais pas économique.Excellente salade wakame et le sushi boat en vaut la peine.Une bonne variété de sushis dont quelques uns originaux.

Ce restaurant, vu de l'extérieur, ne paie vraiment pas de mine, mais une fois à l'intérieur c'est autre chose. Quelques petites tables et un grand bar pour la préparation de sushi et autres possons.Le restaurant est proposé sur le Passeport Gourmand Vaud. Les prix sont assez cher, compter en moyenne CHF 4.50.- par sushi et CHF 4.50.- pour une boisson.Ce restaurant est spécialisé dans les sushi et autres préparations à base de poisson. Le grand plus de ce lieu est le Boeuf Wagyu (Kobe).Nous y avons pris un menu à CHF 78.-/p.p. C'était juste excellent. Raffiné et de qualité.Il faut le voir pour le croire.

UN soirée quasi d'été de rêve, nous sommes venue à deux au Taiyo et avons mangé dehors avec notre passeport GourmandUn accueil parfait, la serveuse super attentionnée, nous avons pris un menu pour deux avec une salade d'algue très bonne et je vous dis... un plateau (bateau) de Sushis MAGNIFIQUE et largement bien rempli ;-)C'est un petit restau, tout simple et c'est BON MERCI

Alles war perfekt, meine Kinder haben ihre Speisen , speziell die yakinikou und unadon . Shrimps und pflanzliche Tempura waren sehr gut. Japanische Bier war auch gut. die Kellner waren sehr freundlich und vorsichtig.

Ce restaurant est parmi mes préférés et pourtant...lors de ma dernière visite; un mercredi, nous avons opté pour leur sushis à gogo qui, malheureusement s'est avéré bien moins gouteux et généreux que d'habitude :-( Une surcouche de riz et un poisson presque inexistant qui a gâché le plaisir d'y manger ce soir là.

Es ist das zweite Mal, dass wir in diesem Restaurant im Herzen von Lausanne, ist schön, aber klein. Das Sushi ist vorbereitet direkt vor Ihren Augen, aber auch die anderen japanischen Menüs anscheinend sehr gut (allerdings nicht ausprobiert habe do anythig but turn andere so weit, aber die Sushi) Der Serviceist freundlich und nett.Wenn Sie gerne dort ist, ist es avisable reservieren Sie einen Tisch.

Sushis excellents et frais (mention spéciale au nigiri à l'anguille) . Tempura légère avec de très belles crevettes. Canard sur ardoise très bon. Seul bémol: tataki de thon gras où le thon était dur et avec un goût de gaz car préparé au chalumeau.

Repas bon,utilisation de bon produits,quantité trop petite par rapport au prix de vente,utilisation du pluriel dans les mets pour se retrouver avec une pièce.mais repas bon dans l ensemble.

Nous sommes partis en famille (4p.) pour manger des sushis à gogo (2p) et à la carte les 2autres.Les sushis à gogo, pendant 90 minutes, étaient plus petit que d'ordinaire, ce qui explique "à gogo". Préparé sur le moment, donc vraiment frais et pas mal diversifiés.Quand à moi et mon épouse avons pris, à la carte, la fondue bouillon de légumes et fruits de mer. Ma foi nous avons vraiment été déçu quand à la quantité du poissons, oui je dis bien poisson et non pas fruits de mer. Donc pas correctement mentionné sur la carte. Le prix est donc bien élevé vu la quantité servie. Nous avons demandé un peu plus de poisson mais la serveuse nous a mis en garde que ce serait payant.En conclusion vraiment très déçus de ce choix. Quand au goût...bof...!

Ich war hier auf Empfehlung von einem alten Freund. Ich habe schon auf der Suche nach einem guten Sushi-Restaurant in lausanne. Nicht so einfach eine Quest als man erwarten könnte. Dies ist gut unverfälscht Sushi zu angemessenen Preisen.
