We (two people) wanted to order a pizza at 5:15 p.m. - but warm food is only available at half past six, according to the waitress. At the same time, a person left the restaurant with 2 pizza boxes 😳🤨 We were also not allowed to go to the table set for 4 people by the window - when the restaurant was practically empty - which we would have actually liked. Until we had ordered, eaten, consumed dessert, coffee and wine, this table remained empty 😧 That's exactly how “Switzerland” works. Apparently there are still restaurateurs who haven't yet understood that gastronomy comes from guests! Just sad here and even worse in such touristy places ☹️

Every year I come to Chateau-d'Oex for a week and I must say that this place remains one of my favorite addresses, for lunch and dinner. A great welcome, beautiful cuisine for reasonable prices. Possibility to taste Turkish cuisine on the menu!

Overall good experience but there are a few things to improve. The dinner started extremely well in a 5 stars rating. The service was very friendly and smiling and the starters (salade d'aubergines and soupe du jour) well excellent. The pasta stuffed with goat cheese are outstanding. The pasta with mozzarella, olives, capers and cherry tomatoes are good but clearly below in terms of taste. The suprême de poulet is not a suprême but a mere escalope. It was fine and the sauce was good. The wine was good too. The bread is clearly the worst part for me: in a French speaking area, I expect way, way better. The tiramisu was good. Finally, the menu is suspiciously long, even if you cut out the pizzas. This generally indicates bit everything is homemade but well if the taste is here, maybe that's not a problem after all.
