Our absolute favorite restaurant in Lucerne! An experience every time! We had expired vouchers that were accepted without discussion. 1000 thanks!

The food and the ambience is good. The music a bit too loud. The waitress was nice, but cleared the table even though one person was still eating dessert. That is not how it works.

Food wasn’t awful, but ended up spending 280CHF which included our food, 1 beer and 1 coke. For that price I’m expecting soooo much more. A lot of effort was put into creating a zen atmosphere, but we had a dog barking all the way through our meal. I would have expected to pay 100CHF AT THE ABSOLUTE MOST for the quality we experienced. If you want quality go elsewhere!

Beautiful place to stay. Unique ambience with high quality food. Every time you can experience a taste explosion. A little insider tip because the entrance is a bit hidden and inconspicuous. Nevertheless, a reservation is recommended to ensure you get a table.

I used to come here back in 1996. Now totally different renovated amazing atmosphere. Food are delicious, staff are friendly and smart, ambience is super romantic. Is located in Hotel Astoria, entrance is on the side of the building. When you enter the restaurant the feeling is like entering a Colonial Thai Palace at night time. Becareful with the stairs, especially after drinking some wines. The only Thai restaurant I would go when traveling to Lucerne.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Thai Garden Restaurant in Lucerne with my wife and friends and we absolutely loved our experience there. The food was incredibly tasty and the service was extremely friendly and attentive. The ambience in the Thai Garden is really cozy and conveys an authentic atmosphere. It feels like you are really in Thailand. The furnishings are tasteful and the decoration adds to that authentic feel All in all, we had a wonderful evening at the Thai Garden in Lucerne. The food was fantastic, the service was friendly and the atmosphere was unbeatably cozy and authentic. I can fully recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back next time I'm in Lucerne.

One of the best Thai restaurants I have ever had. Recommendation: *Thai Garden starter platter. *Tom Kha Gai soup. * Red curry beef tenderloin. *Prawns in black pepper sauce.

A visit to the Thai Garden is for special occasions, you know that the prices there are high and therefore you expect an extraordinary experience. Our recent visit there could not fulfill this expectation. The service employee, probably the chef de service, seemed downright grumpy when ordering, we were processed as quickly as possible and we were repeatedly asked reprimandingly what we wanted. Rice was only scooped up after we asked for it, and the plates wanted to be cleared away before we were finished. The food and alcoholic drinks were of good quality but were far from worth the prices, which were up to twice (!) as high as in restaurants of comparable quality. The fake friendly reception at the cloakroom doesn't help either, it all just seems snobby. Only the best quality in all respects could convince, but unfortunately this is far from the case in the Thai Garden.

I think prices are exaggerated.

Exceptional, truly a pearl. Very careful in detail. From abroad you don't perceive anything, but as soon as you enter it is truly a wonderful surprise. Very friendly and helpful waitresses. All Thai style. It's really worth going there. Everything very tidy and clean. I really felt at ease and the food was delicious.

We have been eating at the Thai Garden regularly since the 80s and are always delighted by the beautiful restaurant, the extremely fine food and the top service. One of the few restaurants that has managed to maintain a consistently high level for decades. Congratulations on this achievement for the entire team but also for the management and, last but not least, for the boss himself, who is definitely one of the most innovative restaurateurs in Switzerland. We'll definitely be back soon...and we're already looking forward to it.

Beautiful, friendly service and very good food

We wanted to make a reservation for next weekend. Unfortunately, the table can only be occupied for a maximum of 2 hours on Friday and Saturday evenings. You have to confirm this with a cross in the registration that you will definitely leave the table after 2 hours. This is an absolute disgrace for a restaurant in this price range (everyone knows what the ThaiGarden costs if they've eaten there before). It's a shame about the good food, but it's not possible to be rushed at this level. Unfortunately, another restaurant that you have to avoid if you live in Lucerne.

From the outside it appears to be a normal Tai restaurant! But inside you feel like you're in Thailand! A super nice location with amazing Tai food. It couldn't be better!!!

Despite the amazing food the score is 3 out of 5. The reason? Water price: 13 CHF for an Evian. I pay much more less in Abu Dhabi rather than in Switzerland (1 euro per 1,5 liter). Paying the water more than the thai beer (10CHF) is offensive, considering that the water for such a country is not so rare o difficult to procure. I payed more than 350 CFH for the bill, and that's ok, but is really needed to scam the customer for a bottle of water that I can buy for 2.2?

NEW YEAR'S EVE. What should I write? I'm very disappointed...it started at the reception...our reservation wasn't found...ok, it's a foreign name, it can happen. It's New Year's Eve and we're looking forward to a delicious meal in the Thaigarden with a nice ambience... but no trace of ambience... we're sitting in the farthest corner... 2 more couples come after us... they'll be in front of us served...we wait...wait...wait...no water...it gets hot, unpleasant...the staff is obviously overwhelmed...we wait 40 minutes for the main entrance... the latecomers have already finished eating...Honestly?! Price-performance is far from being achieved! And by the way: in cases of such grievances, advance payment is not possible!

Food is great as well as the ambience. But the service is a bit slow and can be improved.

The food here was outstanding. My Paneng Curry was a culinary highlight, with each flavor level clearly distinguishable and perfectly prepared. Unfortunately the service left something to be desired. The wait staff was noticeably inattentive and seemed rude to us, which meant we didn't really feel welcome. On the positive side, however, the boss noticed the situation and apologized in an appropriate and polite manner. Despite the service issue, I would recommend a visit due to the excellent cuisine

Super nice and attentive staff, with humor. The ambience is nice and relaxing, very comfortable. The food was delicious, price expensive. Still water 1l for 13.- very very expensive, too expensive…

Lunch box: The spring rolls were great. Unfortunately not the chicken at all. The sauce was extremely watery. It's a shame, very nice restaurant.

For me the price-performance ratio isn't right.

This Thai restaurant is not worth the price. The service is a little bit unprofessional. The spring rolls are really too oily, the pork with sweet and sour sauce are very poorly seasoned. Thai cocktails are just okay. I’ve eaten lots of Thai restaurants in different countries including Thailand, this is almost the worst one I’ve ever had.

The ambience, food and especially the service deserve 5 stars. This restaurant is rather in the more expensive segment, but for this experience, I think it's quite okay because of the wonderful ambience and excellent service, which is not a given these days. Cheers!

A pleasant Thai restaurant. Food and service were very good. Their prices are over the top though. We had an appetizer, two main courses, two beers and a bottle of water. Altogether that clocked in at CHF 147, which is about 30% above what would've been reasonable.

Definitely a very good address if you are looking for good quality food processing. Everything was very good, but I wouldn't go there again. It's really very expensive and you won't find anything special or creative. Just good and typical Thai cuisine, which probably relies on the first selection of processed dishes. For me it tasted very good, but just like in any other Thai restaurant or in Thailand itself. If everyone else can do it equally palatable, there is no reason to pay so much more.

This place is 5 star from the time you walk I. To the hot moist towel you get at the end!!! Service AAA+, atmosphere AA+ food AAA+

We enjoyed the stay very much. The dishes are perhaps a little too adapted to European conditions. We mentioned when we made the reservation that we were celebrating an event. The opportunity for a surprise was missed. That didn't disappoint us, but it certainly would have made us happy.

The food was excellent. However there was nothing awesome about it that I have not tried at other thai restaurants. I ordered red curry with Australian beef, it was very good. I had half of a sampler platter and fried banana with vanilla ice cream for 116 Francs.

Very disappointing service from the waitress. You pay a solid price for the food and get such a rude treatment and service. Then, the waitress by accident drops a glass bottle of water right to our feet and wouldn’t even apologize for the accident 🤷instead, just starts cleaning the glass while we eat. The cherry on the cake is not even returning the change from the bill, yes it’s 5-7 franks, but when I ask where is that, she responds something like “I have to keep it” and disappears. We have been regularly visiting this restaurant since 2016, sadly after this kind of service no willingness to return here or whatsoever

I worked for more than 5 years in Asia and Bangkok and this is the worst Thai restaurant I have ever been to in all categories. It's not bad, it's just tasteless and bland. Of the 6 dishes ordered, none were to be kept. For this price it's just unacceptable and I doubt that Michelin or Gault&Millau could have recommended such a restaurant?! Although in the basement, the room is decorated in a friendly way and has a certain charm, giving an Asian and exotic atmosphere. Too bad, big disappointment.

What a desappointment ! I have been to Thailand many times, including the few restaurants displaying "royal cuisine". I was hoping to find at least a reminder of this wonderful gastronomy at Thaï Garden. We took the tasting menu to try 3 starters, 3 main courses and a soup. Unfortunately it is the worst culinary experience of all the Thais that I have tried across Asia or Europe. It's very bland, none of the typical subtle flavors. We barely smell the lemongrass, galangal, coconut, just the red pepper (and then some). The meat is quality (chicken, duck, pork) but so poorly cooked... The pineapple seems straight out of a can. The service was hardly friendly, very insistent. The room is quite beautiful, well decorated and light ambient music. We would have appreciated a change of cutlery between courses. All at Swiss prices of course. A real waste.

A must visit if you are in Luzerne

The pretentiousness of the interiors, characterized by an incongruous and cloying dim light, corresponds to street food cuisine of the worst kind. Overfried and frozen starters are particularly depressing. 300 euros for three, including a little girl, without even receiving a chocolate with the bill. The only decent thing is the service, fast and efficient. Avoid like the plague.

very friendly and attentive service. The food was excellent and was prepared a little less spicy upon request. We hadn't eaten such good spring rolls for a long time. This was the 2nd visit to the Thai Garden (unfortunately only after 11.5 years)

Top Food, Service ok. A bit costly

Here is the deal - small things make for perfection and many things need to be improved here including ambient lighting which needs to be more so you can actually see what you are eating. Also the low lights along the staircase are directly hitting the eyes of the patrons on some tables - they need to be shaded. The portion sizes are huge - please guide patrons to share so they do not over order. Decent entrees. Please add a knife to the cutlery on table - everyone was asking for one. Enhance the cocktail menu. Finally - please DO NOT let the servers to ask for service charge. In Switzerland they never ask - if you want service charge - say it in the menu that service charge will be extra. Thanks.

Nice location in a good location near the train station. Warm welcome and very good service. The food is fine, but compared to the now VERY high prices, it's a bit too ordinary. At first glance, the atmosphere was cozy, but at second glance it was more suitable for a bar. The dim candlelight made it impossible to read the menu and we couldn't really see what exactly was being served. Had to use the cell phone flashlight to do this. Online reservation process with integrated calendar import is great and worked very well.

Na Ja, very nice ambiance but is ok to good but not great and certainly NOT authentic Thai … We came here because it’s part of the Michelin guide but I am wondering if the person who voted to include this in the guide ever lived in Thailand Many service errors by our waitress who continued to bring things we haven’t ordered from soup to dessert the dessert was the straw that notched the review from 4 to 3 stars …it was just close to aweful - fried Banana- we ordered it with coconut Icecream but it came with Vanilla ice cream was cold and the banana coating was with sugar which created an odd taste which should be otherwise a simple but good dessert

Unique ambience and top service. The food is good, but nothing exceptional. Rice is à la discretion, so the quantity balances it out a bit. So numbers are more about the experience. We had a starter, two curries as a main course and two desserts, no wine.

The food is extremely over priced for what is basic Thai food. For this price you should be getting much finer food. Setting is nice though.

We paid $212 USD for 2 bowls of Tom Yum soup, 1 beef curry and 1 pad Thai noodles, 2 glasses of mediocre Prosecco and a 32 oz bottle of sparkling water on 5.19.23. Tom Yum soups were the best dishes since they had some Thai spices. The servers are overwhelmed. In fact a gentleman across from us had to wave him arm for 5 minutes to get a server to provide more rice. There were some guys in suits roaming the floor but it was hard to figure out what their purpose was since it wasn’t customer service. The restaurant is possibly the darkest restaurant I ever ate in so make sure you light up the menu with your phone before you order instead of getting sticker shock at the end. If you really need Thai food In Lucerne order it at the takeaway a couple blocks away. Save your money.

Beautiful ambience but unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right. Food is okay but not nearly as good as the prices would suggest. Service okay but there is room for improvement here too! All in all - you can pay dearly for the atmosphere.

Definitely worth a visit. The waiting time for the main course was a bit long. You were allowed to have as much rice as you wanted. Great atmosphere, but a bit expensive.

Giant prawns had no taste, too watery. There isn't a single vegetable in the curry. Anything over 50.- so too expensive for a normal Thai dish. Only the service was good.

Quality of preparation okay, but disappointing given the very high pricing (starter plate of fried finger food for 2 people 68 CHF ) just standard. One star for the ambience. Otherwise very disappointing. I was there yesterday with my husband. It was my birthday and my husband reported it that way. Also that I eat vegan. Absolutely no attention was paid to this. The food is absolutely nothing special. You eat better with any standard Thai. The map has been the same for years. When we were asked if everything was good, I listed all of these points. People just remained silent… No excuses, nothing! Staff who don't really understand German. I expect much more from a restaurant like this. That was definitely the last time with you.

The food was very good, but it is now so expensive that the price/performance ratio is no longer right. That probably explains why the restaurant wasn't full on a Saturday evening. For one dish the sauce was forgotten and served late when we were almost finished. It's a shame for a dish for 50.-.

Not worth the price anymore. Starters like the papaya salad have too much decoration and not enough food. The alcohol free “cocktail” is basically icecubes with multivitamin juice from the supermarket with a slice of pineapple and costs 11-.

I don't understand all the good reviews. We were extremely disappointed; Service was terrible - we waited almost 2 hours for the main course. Curry was watery and hardly seasoned other than the spiciness and didn't even contain any vegetables. The only good thing was the spring rolls. We definitely won't be coming back, especially not at these prices.
